What we need now is for wenger to accept the reality of what is happening to this great club. he has been great for us but the rose tinted glassess have been broken a long time ago. it hurts too see such a proud man on his knees slowly withering his legacy away. What he has built is being knocked down by his unwillingness to accept the truth. He has to leave its best for the club and him. Arsenal football club was here before wenger and it will still be here after wenger. The only consistent thing is the fans. The very fans who have now lost faith in him. We need a change.
If players wants to go let them go. I only want players who are willing to give 100% to arsenal fc not like some of the drivel we have at the moment who are going through the motions and picking up a wage. its criminal how some of these so called pampered stars can look in the mirror and say they are putting in a performance for this great club.

Is tonight the heaviest aggregate defeat for a PL side in the CL

Anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Mar 2017 23:04:04
Yes, highest ever in champions league was in 2009 when bayern beat sporting 12-1 over two legs.

07 Mar 2017 23:05:16
Think they said it was heaviest aggregate English defeat ever in Europe.

07 Mar 2017 23:07:34
Well done Arsenal another record.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 23:09:35
Yes mate.

I would also imagine it's one of the heaviest defeats any team has suffered on aggregate in knock out stages.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 23:05:44
No im sure we beat standard liege by more. Or am I getting mixed up with comps.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2017 02:29:41
Steve,
We beat them 10-0 on aggregate, but it was Cup Winners Cup πŸ˜ƒ.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 20:59:56
I'm really not a fan of banner waving. In a champions league game for all of Europe to see! Bet top class players are dying to board our happy ship. In my opinion it's a discrace.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Mar 2017 23:11:53
Not a fan of it either, but I believe people have a right to express their opinion.

Like it or not, it's not exactly like flying a plane towing a banner over The Emirates.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 22:57:51
Ive said before if you allow banners praising you can't knock banners not. Im afraid this is the toxic atmosphere that is around and won't go away until some action is taken. People are fed up and everything that's going on is embarrassing for europe to see.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2017 10:28:03
Not suggesting it should not be allowed in just not a fan it steve I don't think it helps.

Sanchez laughing is inexcusable he doesn't give a toss about the club or the fans, snack the badge when you score all you want mate, it's false

Sell him now he has 15 months left.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Mar 2017 22:41:43
Yes he should have been sulking and showing his displeasure, oh wait. Don't knock sanchez for the sitation if it wasn't for him we would be down in mid table, he's carried this team single handed. He has worked his nads off. I was laughing because I didn't want my work mates to see me crying. All of this what is going on is laughable because we are becoming a laughing stock.

Agree4 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 22:38:39
Can you imagine if he was playing when graham was manager with Adams captain and they seen him laughing they would have booted him down the tunnel.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 23:06:32
Raver some of our players want booting down the tunnel. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 23:56:04
Steve mate, give it a rest. Yes he's a good player but laughing when we concede a goal shows a total lack of respect to the club that currently pay his wages and especially the fans that cheer him on week in and week out.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Mar 2017 07:47:03
Totally agree Sharpe mate it's bang out of order, Steve we normally agree but you've got this wrong .

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2017 10:23:28
Sharpy when he has pulled a shirt on for this club, how has he ever let us down, he can laugh bite scream and kung fu kick the crowd for me if he performs. How many players who didn't laugh have shown the fight he's shown for this club. As long as he produces I haven't a problem, its the ones that dont. don't start taking your frustration out on a player who has tried his heart out for us. So what if he laughed, we are a laughing stock.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2017 10:27:13
Sharpy the fans who pay his wages have got far better value from him than any. They want to remember that, the rest haven't given as good value week in week out.

Ok, Terry Neill, Don Howe, Bruce Rioch, all got sacked for much less.

But back. then we were a football club nor the business Arsene and money grabber Kroenke have developed.

If Arsene is the man of honour I thought he was then tomorrow morning he will announce his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.

As for Kroenke. That idiot has systematically destroyed one of the greatest clubs in the world for his own ends. He must go too

Right now kroenke must be bricking it because he knows any new manager is going to want to spend to repair the damage and that's the one thing kroenke hates. He only wants to spend to get a financial return not to win trophies.

I also don't want Dein anywhere near our club. He was the idiot who introduced Kroenke and who is to blame for us being in this mess.

The club's a complete shambles from top. to bottom

Alexis Sanchez laughs on the bench whrn we concede. I don't care who he is, with behaviour like that he must be sold.

Time to rip the carpets up and start again- our great club is in a greater mess than I can remember in my life time. And i can retire in a few months!

Playing staff and medical staff need axomplete refresh. Management of both playing and business side need to be replaced entirely

Dein, Kroenke, Wenger, Gazidis you have turned The Arsenal into footballs biggest joke, you've made the club an embarrassment on a global scale.

I accept oil and Russian money has changed the football world but you lied about the stadium move. Yiu haven't made it so we can compete, you've used it to line your own pockets.

Thankfully Arsenal will out live all of you but I just hope it will not take too long for the humiliation and damage you have inflicted on the club to be repaired once you are gone.

ATID. I love the club and know we will beach once we are free of idiots who don't care about football but who are only interested in money.

10-2 on aggregate. So this is how far we have come after the burden of the stadium build is lifted: one and a half world class players, who reputedly want either a huge pay rise or a pass, and the rest which started as potential, but would get nowhere near another top six side.

Serious changes at AFC are needed, top and bottom. I like Arsene Wenger, and I think had Dein stayed at the club, he may have seen more success. But his dominance of all club matters, seems out of kilter with his ability to deliver. Fresh ideas and new blood is needed at club and board levels if the debacle of this season is going to be avoided.

As for who comes in, there is a few names in the mix. Simeone would be a reversal of style a bit too far for me - but I would welcome the change. Allegri looks promising, Italian defensive nous with a bit of flair thrown in - I'd welcome that too. As for Howe, I had a moment, but it passed. The same for Koeman, Bergkamp, and Henry. Experience and tactical nous is what's needed now.

Interesting times ahead I think.

Urban, Dein was the creator of this mess. He introduced the leech kroenke.

I wish romantics would stop wanting him back and realise the way he used the club to profit himself.

Time for a clean break.

Personally I hope above all else that the stay/ leave situation is done correctly. Possibly after Bayern would be the right time to make an anouncement.
If he stays then give him a massive budget to overhaul the team BUT do not let him pick all the new players. For me he has had too many failures.
If he goes then, start today, Allegri or a. n. other must be in place at the end of the season and again with a large war chest.

IF we do, I know financially it will be a blow to miss out on Europe but think of the potential, new manager, new players fewer games. Could be a blessing in disguise.
Whatever happens my one wish is that Arsene is treated with total respect for what he has achieved. Maybe not as much as we would have wished but over all it has been an enjoyable ride being a Gooner.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

07 Mar 2017 17:28:27
Yes it'll be a blow to miss out on Champs League, but there should be enough in the budget to get players in regardless. Especially when you consider the amount of players likely to leave the club.

And win the fa cup and get to the semis in the champions league, will you be ok with arsenal announce that wenger will have a another year.
Don't shoot just wnat to see th outcome of the debate.

So your saying in short if we pull a miracle, end up in top 4 and end season with a trophy! This would be my feelings then in this order

1. Wenger goes and we get a new manager with CL football and a positive vibe around the club
2. Wenger stays for a year no more and has a good transfer window

So I'm wanting miracles.

Allegri will replace Wenger this summer and I am certain he will try and retain Ozil and Sanchez. I understand that feelers are already out for a quality LB and I would imagine he will bring 2 or 3 more players to the club, possibly from Italy, as he knows the market well. He will already have spotted the weaknesses in the squad and players will be moved on. I am quite looking forward to the future, but we mustn't forget Wenger and all he has done for the club over two decades. Exciting and different times ahead.

I just want to throw this one out there to everybody.
If Wenger was to go do you think he should leave completely and have no influence at all around the club?

Personally speaking if it were me taking over I wouldn't want him around and having any input whatsoever and I say that because I feel that if Wenger was still somewhere in the mix then whoever the new manager would be, will be managing in Wenger's shadow.

I feel the best thing for Arsenal would be that Wenger takes another managerial job elsewhere and get him out of the frame completely. Opinions?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

07 Mar 2017 10:53:11
Well Lanesra for me a definite clean break from the club because i am of the same opinion that he will interfere. Sadly i am also of the opinion that he has already signed and the club are waiting for the best moment (not that their is one) to announce it.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 13:27:15
I don't think its really an issue if the new manager has experience. I mean can you really see someone like Max Allegri give two jots if Wenger was still at the club or not? Personally i would like Wenger to move on for a couple of years and manage elsewhere, before coming back later on for a top level role on the board. Why wouldn't we want one of the greatest managers ever at the club (and totally dedicated to Arsenal) not be offered a role? Its not as if we already have lots of experience with ex players on the board (unless ex NFL counts! ) .

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 13:31:24
If Wenger goes, I can assure you he will leave the club, as he wishes to manage elsewhere.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 17:47:08
I think Wenger should do what our past best players did and go Barcelona get a champions league under his belt.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 01:47:38
If anybody checks my past posts i have always been wenger out and i am not saying that because i am ungrateful towards wenger or disrespectful but it is because as good as the man has been for us, i have come to the painful conclusion that he can't take us any further we have stagnated under him. Every year it is the same thing. We start well and collapse by february or march every season for the last same years and what does wenger do? He blames the referees, the weather, the pitch, bad luck and anything else but him and the players. If we play terrible he never comes out and say we were terrible. He never drops under performing players. He has to go with all due respect. Best thing he can do for us this season is announce that he is leaving at the end of the season as soon as possible then the players will be motivated, we will probably sneak into fourth at the expense of spurs (we always do that) and then we can rebuild next season with a new manger in charge. Allegri wouldn't suit us. i would prefer tuchel, sampaoli or jardim.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

07 Mar 2017 09:43:15
Funny thing is punani is that we have had some massive rubs of the green this year, ref decisions go our way and more late goals than united have had in fergie time and still were far off.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 13:35:00
I really don't understand why Allegri doesn't suit us, is that because he actually wins things, and shows a bit of passion! Why does he have to suit our style, surely we need to change our style, otherwise we might as well keep what we have? I really don't think we have the luxury to start dismissing title winning managers from other countries (before we even know if they are an option) . I for one would be happy with Allegri (along with Tuchel and a few others) as it would show a surprisingly unexpected knowledge and commitment from our owner and board that I am just not expecting, and let's be honest, whoever we got, and whatever their style, at least they know that even if they don't win the league for the next 10 years its no worse than we have just gone through!

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Mar 2017 17:32:51
Okay allegri is a decent coach but he isn't as great as people make him out to be. He won titles in Italy when he had the best teams. His Ac milan team had the likes of ibra and thiago silva and infact in his last season there, he was a disaster. He then came to juventus and remember juventus won three consecutive scudetto titles with conte before that so in essence he came to a winning team. In the premier league i am afraid he will be found out. remember how he got kocked out by guardiola last season while his team had a 2-0 lead till the 75th minute? if a coach doesn't play pressing fast game he won't really get far especially in the champions league. When you have the ball you deny the opponnet the chance to hurt you while putting yourself in a situation where you can hurt them. Of the contenders sampaoli and tuchel play that pressing attacking football. Both would suit Arsenal but sampaoli doesn't speak english and tuchel speaks fluent english and i think that would be a bonus if he was to move to Arsenal. Tuchel is tactically way better than klopp. his pressing is a bit measured and he changes formations always. usually plays 4-3-1-2 and against bayern earlier this season he beat them by playing a 3-3-2-2 formation. I believe he is the next big super coach after guardiola, a revolutionary and we don't need a decent coach, we need a revolutionary like tuchel but i wouldn't mind sampaoli. Excellent coach too.
