Juventus described on the radio as cuter and more streetwise. We could do with a manager like that.

I think we need an Italian manager to teach our defence couple of tricks on how to keep it bloody tied.

Tottenham supporters slated Arsenal for being knocked out of the 1st knockout round of the Champions League. Then Tottenham gets knocked out of the 1st knockout round of the Champions League, hahahahaha 😂.

Would it be fair to say your actually more of a non Spurs fan than an Arsenal fan.
Just that you rarely post anything on Arsenal that doesn't involve Spurs.

Crowing on the eve that could see us been dumped out of Europe.

Pochettino has just been given a new role anyway assisting Theresa May with the Brexit negotiations, she heard he was an expert at leaving Europe!

Not Arsenal related.

Who are you candidate's for POTY.

(Now you know why I said it's not Arsenal related) .

Mine.
Mo Salah, Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne and David De Gea.

I'm going to go for Mo Salah as it's his first season in The Prem and he has been outstanding.

David Silver, maybe not but I've always thought how old Arsenal he was.
He's very much an Arsene of old type player who in my opinion would have fitted into us at our best.

I just read today they found the oldest message in a bottle,
Apparently it said Wenger out.
My theory is Malaga from wexford travelled back in time and wrote it😀😀😀.

That's funny because of just found a book with completely blank pages in it.
It was called Utds most exciting games since Fergie.

Imagine we'd scrapped the wheel simply because the first ever one wasn't brilliant :-)
Undoubtedly it has its problems but so did the offside rule change and the back pass to the keeper rule change and just about all the changes that football has ever had.
Imagine going back to where the keeper could hold onto the ball for over a minute without anyone batting an eye and where a defender could simply pass it back to the keeper as many times as he liked for the keeper to cuddle some more or a player standing by the corner flag an inch offside could cost his team a goal scored from 50yds on the opposite side of the pitch, it used to happen.

Now forgetting the manager situation so this post isn't bombarded with a new manager comments lol.

But I think when we start rebuilding we really do need a new spine of the team. Obv cf we don't need another first teamer. So a new gk cb and cm are essential. I'm liking the looks of leno. Hopefully we move for him in goal. Cb we need a leader. Any thoughts for That? And a big tall cm to take the game by the scruff of the neck. i'm huge fan of savic but that'll never happen and dunno if he got a that mould. Doucoure might fit that cm role he has impressed me this season. What is everyone else's thought for the spine of the team. Obv more is needed but we won't get it all one summer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Mar 2018 10:31:14
It’s so difficult to pick out who would be great where, like you say Savic will be way to expensive for me.

Central defenders are a nightmare, I was trying to think of all the recent big money buys across the top clubs and which if any CD stood out, maybe Alderweireld would be the only one whose truly shone.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2018 11:41:12
A Keeper, 2 CB's and 2 DM's.

Keeper - Butland (Stoke)

CB's - Alderweireld is ideal, but I know him and he would not sign for Arsenal.
Maguire (Leicester) and Tarkowski (Burnley)

DM's - Lamina (Southampton) and Doucoure' (Watford)

I would sell/ loan/ release:
Ospina
Chambers
Elneny
Holding (loan)
Iwobi (loan)
Campbell
Perez
Akpom.

07 Mar 2018 12:55:47
Thanks whichever editor edited this for me i made a right hash of sending it lol. Yeah I agree we need 2 cb and 2 cm but I was trying to be realistic as can't see it. I am struggling to think if defenders tho. As you said a lot of big money signings haven't done too well. Umtiti is he available? He looked quite good prior his move to Barca. Maybe that'll be worth the risk. Or rugani. We really need a big change this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Both Umtiti and Rugani are seemingly heading elsewhere if they are sold - regardless Arsenal are not interested in either. I fear that Chris Smalling might be seen as an option but Medhi Benatia (CB) will remain first choice.}

07 Mar 2018 17:14:30
Thank you for replying to that ed002 I appreciate it. wouldn't be too happy with smalling and haven't much knowledge on benatia. I wonder if there is to be a new manager this summer if the players We've been looking at in all positions will change slightly. Or is it the new head of Scouting that reccomends these players. Must admit I'm slightly out of touch with who decides which players to bring In these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Any new manager would have a significant input but so will the Director of Football and the scouting team.}

07 Mar 2018 18:34:43
Ed,
Are we still interested in Johnny Evans?
Does he have a £3m buyout if West Brom are relegated?
Thanks Ed.

Julian Nagelsmann is a good choice for a long term replacement! Before everyone goes on about experience, age and why we should appoint Ancelotti instead, read up on this guy instead. A new style of management is coming through in the younger boys and this guy is out there as one of the best in my opinion!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

07 Mar 2018 10:24:21
Just read about him and nothing that made me fall off my chair with excitement although decent enough 3 years unto management, us Sean Dyche not as impressive?
If we appoint him I would be happy because it means change and the first step has been taken but I wouldn't be thinking this is it, premier league title here we come.
Mind you back in 97 I wasn't thinking that about the bloke who had a name that sounded like the clubs but I'd never heard of, so I'm open to almost anyone that's not completely mind blowing ridiculous.

07 Mar 2018 10:27:26
Really like him and wouldn’t say no, I would also think he’d jump at the chance.

Ed01 often talks good things about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2018 11:53:56
I agree but he's young, passionate and is revolutionising the modern day management. I think he would be ideal and would have a lot to work with! Arsenal keep saying they want a long term successor rather than 'one in one out' every few seasons!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2018 17:31:43
I think he would be an excellent choice. Does ed001 have a article on him? Nice to read up on him without the nonsense you'll find elsewhere. Would be great to have a young manager with fresh ideas I think that is the way forward.

{Ed001's Note - I don't mate, if I get a chance I will put something together.}

do you people actually secretly hope that arsenal don't do well in the europa league and the ending stages of the premier league so the need to sack wenger would be undeniable? i thought it was an interesting conundrum.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

07 Mar 2018 03:59:15
My loyalty is to Arsenal first and foremost, so I want us to do well in the EL and want us to win it, not that I think it is even a remote possibility. If we were to win it by some miracle it would be a reasonably successful outcome to a poor season, with CL qualification and a trophy.
The problem at the moment is that I can't see where the next win is coming from, as our form in 2018 has been awful after the squad was weakened beyond belief and is down to 20 overage players, less Mertesacker who is finished and Chamvers who is woeful. Of the remaining 18 players we have Lacazette out with injury and we have no DM's and too many offensive midfield players. I can't envisioned us getting anything out of the Milan match and the atmosphere will be toxic at home to Watford at the weekend and Milan after that, If we fail to get a win over these 3 matches I expect the board to finally act and fire Wenger. Of the available managers Ancelotti sticks out as a safe, experienced choice, although if he now speaks English, Simeone would be my first choice.

Hi Everton mate, it's a good question and a very fair one to ask.
Personally I think we've got into a situation where every defeat now has a silver lining if I'm being truthful.
The appetite for change has never been so strong and I think the last thing the club needs is for Arsene to win his last 5 games of the season pip Burnley for the last europa league spot on the last day of the season and declare yet another turning point that enough fans buy into enabling him to carry on next season only for normal service to resumed yet again next season.
I'm not sure the club can go through yet another season like this one and not end up completely in the wilderness for years to come.
I want to win the europa league because it would raise the clubs much ridiculed profile and we need that badly but not at the expense of one more year of Arsene.
We realy can not afford another season of this, fans interest in the club is at an all time low I've never known so many people not that bothered about Arsenal as they are right now, my neighbour is a Gooner too and every conversation between started with Arsenal but not anymore the last couple of times I've seen him in don't think football has been mentioned, the weather work etc but not one mention of the Arsenal.
