Financial fair play is unenforceable for the elite much like tax is for huge companies they will always find loopholes and ways of bending the rules.
Football reminds me of the world before the 2007 credit crunch where people were lending and spending regardless of the long term ability or likelihood for the books to ever ballance
Sooner or later the football money bubble will burst and just as we saw the likes of Wolworths disappear from the high street some pretty famous football names will go too.
Wages and transfer fees are already way beyond out of control yet still they continue to increase year on year
City PSG and Real may have mega wealthy owners but those trying to keep up don't and I think this is where the real problem will come once the money starts to dry up.

Thats the thing gunner, the clubs that cheat, for me, need harsher punishments and being thrown out of a competition or significant points deficits. The ffp was put in to protect everyone, from the clubs to the various associations and indirectly right down to the fans. Its is just greed and blatent cheating, when others are following the rules. All competitions have rules and if following the rules of finance is one of them, then there is no excuse for breaking them. How many of these clubs have owners from other countries, who disreggard and disrespect the club and the fans by doing it. The problem with this world is more and more financial deceiving in all walks of life is becoming the norm. If an athlete cheats by drugs testing or trying to gain an illegal advantage, they get the medal or trophy took off them, the clubs should do too.

The problem is Steve how do you prove anything, I think it's all about football income but what is football income? If someone wants to pay Watford a billion a year to name their stadium after him is that football generated income?
There are so many ways around things and rightly or wrongly it's virtually impossible to enforce financial fair play.
You could limit the signings each club is allowed per 5 years or something that would help because you could regulate it quite easily, say 15 players over 18 can be signed in any 5 year period the rest must come from youth products?
Would fans be happy with that? You can limit personal easily but money is much much more of a tricky thing to do.

I believe and i may be wrong but there is a team of legal people each year scrutinise all accounts even following chains to sponsors, which lead to finding these financial irregularities by the likes of citeh and psg. Money is complexed but it is also traceable, which is the case in these two teams. Yes i'm sure a certain amount of fiddling goes on to try and hide secret deals but these usually get found out eventually, like a lot of illegal money dealings.

What did it used to be called, before the money arrived and Fergie was pulling all sorts of tricks to gain an unfair advantage for United, Fergie time, intimidating refs, withdrawing injured players 🤔 from internationals etc.

Asking for a friend. 😉.

In the words of Philip Schofield, simplify!
You've got a job to hide the players you sign without people noticing.
3 season average every 5 years, so if you sing 2 players a year for 4 years you can sign up to 7 players in year 5. Oh and include loan deals as a signing too to close that loop hole.
Prevents player hoarding and regulates clubs singing players simply because they can.
Simples as Mere cats like to say, a lot :-)

I will say that everyone everywhere is always looking for an edge, something they think will increase there chances of success and make them stand out above all others.
Whether it's the best cue to help them be better at snooker than thier mates or the most expensive pair of trainers to make them faster in a race, everyone everywhere who takes what they do seriously is always looking for some kind of advantage, even down to really expensive clothes and aftershave if they are trying to win a girlfriend:-) all people spend what they have in order to win what they want most in one way or another.
