toffee here in peace boys

just wanted to get your thoughts on how we did against currently the best team in the league and how we looked compared to other clubs that have come to the emirates?

i thought at times we showed we can not just mix it with the best but better it in particular ross barkley, at times he made your undeniably world class midfield look average but that might be a biased view on it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Is that your idea of banter or do you think it's some kind of dating site? I can't believe you came on another team's forum to ask a question like that in the first place no matter the way you asked it! I'm seriously taking a red-neck for you mate. Why did you not just come straight out with it and say 'You are just ssssoooo good, pretty please tell me we're good too.'
Even if you hadn't seen the game (which you did) that's one of the most cringey posts I've ever read.
Remember and wipe your nose before bed or you'll never get to sleep with that smell hanging about.}

You on crack ed007? I put currently the best as you are sat top I also put we made you look average so get your head out ya arse ya whopper, you were outclassed by a better team that doesn't need to spend 40 odd million on superstars to mix it at the top of the league, can't wait to see all your fans and your usual moans when you lot fall away like every year, i'd never label you guys good either, in good form yes, team of overhyped pre madonnas most certainly, can't wait for the return leg at goodison, was at the game and got to say you lot are the quietest fans around, until you scored it sounded like we were playing at goodison, think before you reply with drivvel ya moron

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You do know that I'm a Celtic supporter don't you? So just keep digging that hole for yourself, obviously your physic powers are dwindling if you are assuming you know who I support. I'll say one thing, I'd be embarrassed to support any team that had people like you in it, on another team's forum fishing for compliments is shameful behaviour. I don't know where you stay but I'm sure the whole village is out looking for their idiot, you best get offline to let them know you are ok. Are Arsenal your 'big' team?}

Bit harsh ed. Well from one brown nose to another you were the best footballing team that we have played so far. I've got a spare room if you need one?
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Have you ever went onto another fans' forum to ask how good they thought Arsenal were, Flybo? C'mon, how can that go unpunished for the sheer cringing embarrassment of it? Anonymous trolls never even pulled strokes like that!
Maybe you and him can meet up in the return fixture and go for a windy walk together and kick bundles of leaves or a slow motion run through long grass.}

Haha Ed. No I haven't, but the walk sounds like fun. I can wear my black dress if it's not too windy. Don't let the red typo change you Ed007 ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - ;)

Bluebaru. Calm yourself down. First of all you don't have 40 million anyway, secondly you go on about how perfect Everton are ignoring the fact that half your team are loanees. Take them out where would you be. Don't get on your high horse mate. It's taken united fans a couple of decades to become arrogant tw*ts. It's taken you two games. P.s, I wonder where Barkley will end up? I owe Ed007 a apology. I would say up the hoops, but I would hate for him to think I was brown nosing.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Im going to have to go with ED007, on this one, totally agree.
Its one thing to ask a question and make comparisons but you don't fish for compliments on an oppositions banter page.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, such a shame that a respectable team like Everton with a manager that I have respect and admiration for could be so poorly represented.

I thought Everton played very well and that a draw was a fair result, but you are changing my mind lol. Try to be humble in victory, gracious in defeat. Sportsmanship mate.

Peace,
Trinidad-Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton fan in peace. I thought the game could have gone Either way. we had our moments and so did you.

over the 90 mins I thought a draw was about right. good luck for the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

To BLUERAU. Yes Everton were the best team I have ever seen absolutely fantastic. Actually our team Arsenal should not have been on the same pitch as them Everton were the dogs b***ks. Even the way they walked onto the pitch they looked great. Their kits were super pressed boots were shining ready for action. The players were so slick you could smell the aftershave through the TV. What about your supporters singing away sounded like the most wonderful choir anyone has ever heard. It's a shame Everton were not in the Champions League as they would clean up I reckon they could even go to Brazil and win the World Cup if they wanted. I don't know why I've supported Arsenal for all these years I've been wasting my time after seeing Everton on Sunday. Glad you reminded us all on how wonderful Everton are mate. I'm sure all the other Arsenal supporters on this site will join me in saying Everton are the best team in the World. OK!

Agree0 Disagree0

Goldboy, Goldboy, Goldboy, calm down and relax my good buddy, chill its nearly christmas.
Bloody good post though, that cracked me up .

Agree0 Disagree0

Scousedownsouth, totally agree mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Dagenham . Everton were so good that I believe that even Santa is a supporter. LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Dec 2013 15:25:05
SCOUSEDOWNSOUTH. Got to agree too mate. I don't think any Arsenal supporter was thinking this game was going to be a done deal for us the way Everton have been playing. Personally I'm glad this ones out the way. Have a good Christmas mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Dec 2013 15:39:53
blubaru mate, they came on our site multiple times to praise us before the match even started! and after the match, they also praised us on this site too, is that not enough?

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Bluebaru is not a toffee, probably Chelski on a wind up.

Anyway I thing the league is way above us this season. so hopefully it will be you boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Scousedownsouth,
If we do win the league I would be more than happy for you boys to finish runners up mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Per and Kos were sensational today

Midfield was a bit patchy leaving gaps in middle that Everton exploited quite well

Thought we could have won with the number of clear cut chances

Good point but tired legs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 21:18:43
Spurs in the cup? That's the one side we have to play our best 11 in any one else we could have given the squad a run, hey ho 4th round for Betner and co it is then

Believable0 Unbelievable0

G62, just a thought my friend and I run the risk of getting told off by a lot of people on this site, but here goes.
Between now and the spurs cup game we have a lot of games to play, a lot of points can be won or lost and we have the Napoli game just around the corner.
I think we looked a little bit jaded today against Everton and we have some seriously hard games to come. So, i'm not too bothered mate if we play a 2nd string against spurs and run the risk of getting knocked out.
i'm not too sure if we have the squad to compete for the FA cup as well as the league and champs league, so I think we should concentrate on the last 2 my friend.

LET THE STICK BEGIN LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It will only get harder in February and March - Arsenal are doing great right now. Stick with them.}

I hear you ED lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Dagenham on this.
in previous seasons I would be disappointed if we played a weak tean in the fa cup, mainly because the league title wasn't looking likely.
but this season we are progressing very well in the league, and believe squad rotation is essential, I also have a sneaky feeling about the champions league.
don't know if we can win it, but I really think semi finals could be the min we achieve simply because our defence seems strong and very consistent. all we need is a reus/draxler/el sheraaway and it could be likely :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree DG we can't compete on all fronts this season the PL is No1 CL second and FA cup 35th in my book.
Just a shame we drew spurs because anyone else we could have rested players but I think it would cause a revolt if we didn't go for it in that one:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Waq1 and G62, bless ya cotton socks.
Oh, and G62, ask the missus to stop predicting Arsenal results lol (its xmas she should be out shopping like my missus lol)

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell her! When she says our relationship is based on being able to talk things through, she calls it talking, I call it listening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol G62, I think you and I are married to the same woman.
I said to my wife the other day "Are you seeing somebody else?"

She said, "No, what makes you say that?"

I said "Because you have'nt nagged me all evening"

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 21:03:19
if i'm honest I've always had a hate for arsenal for reasons I do not need to go into, but a few of you have came on our site and put posts that have been a joy to read, great respect between our 2 sets of fans unlike united fans you are not up your own arses and show a laughable amount of arrogance, you, instead have shown us respect and can acknowledge when you have played a good team and even certain players from that team (like barkley today), a great match today between 2 greatly improved sides who both will cause any team trouble on their day and can beat anyone on their day, thank you for your respectful views on us blues and having a fantastic match against us which will be great for any neutral to watch, good luck for the rest of the season and hopefully this relaxed and respectful manner in which we have treated each other will continue to the match at goodison and for as long as possible, good luck and thanks for the match and the build up to it, youse have been great

Mike-Ox Long

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Snow, you are more than welcome my friend and you are a true gentleman.
Hope you finish a close 2nd to us this season lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 23:12:10
Hey snow, great post man like to see respect between fans, no reason to think we are friends but nice to see after the 90 respect can be given either way, disappointed with the result today but don't feel bad that it was a draw to everton, same against man u/city or chelsea or the pool and I would be disgusted, good luck for the rest of the season except for the return leg.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 22:01:40
Brace yourself for MOTD 2 tonight people, I can hear it now.
Its a two horse race between city and Chelski after today's result that's for sure, their results yesterday won't count.
The nice thing is we only have to wait a week for city to join us as also rans when we win there next weekend.
Then Chelski will be champions elect, well for a week they will :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yh I know mate, tbh i'm not even going to watch MOTD

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 21:59:56
Was a little down in the dumps earlier, but looking at the table its not so bad.
5 points clear at the top after 15 games, 3rd highest goalscorers and we have the best defensive record.
Louis Suarez would bite your hand off to have Liverpool in the same position, come to think of it, Louis Suarez would bite your hand off fullstop, but that's another story lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its all food and drink to him DG

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 19:45:33
Everton are proving the hardest team in the league to beat, if they didn't set up that way they would have probably lost a couple more as well as winning a couple more, 7 draws in 15 isn't really what any club would want, if they are to challenge they will need a change of style. For me Arsenal were probably the least effective I have seen them, will we start to see signs of tiredness at just the wrong time . gulp!

M City and Chelsea next for us, let's not forget Liverpool have Tottenham, Cardiff, M City and Chelsea next, so many points to be won and lost, I will be happy going into the London Derby v spurs ( FA Cup) still top

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 20:43:35
Everton fan here,
Great game lads,
Always had a soft spot for the arsenal,
so like many other blue scousers we wish you the best of luck in the title push,
Fingers crossed for efc-arsenal f.a cup final,!

Agree0 Disagree0

Tcefc, you sir are a true gentleman, good luck to the toffees for the rest of the season.
I would be over the moon if we won the league and your boys finish 2nd.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 19:30:15
No ones going to beat Everton without an outstanding performance by them and an Everton below their best one.

I'm not disappointed as I had a bad feeling about the game for weeks, good news is I will be gutted if we only draw at city next week as I'm very very confident you will see both sides at their best and going for it and a Arsenal win being the outcome.
We have Napoli Wednesday to deal with but we will increase our a 2 0 lead on the night.
45 points by new years eve VERY realistic for me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I echo your sentiments G62

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 19:29:24
Hopefully we can get 2-3 players in January seems unlikely knowing wenger but if we can see out this month at the top we have a good chance. As for Everton there a good team but they have lukaku, Barry and delafolou on loan which is a massive boost for them.

Out
Frimpong-loan
Park-free
Myiachi-loan
Bendtner-500k
Gnabry-loan
Sanogo-loan

Obviously I'd like falcoa or cavani followed by reus then godin
But realistically these players would be good

In
Berbatov-2mil
Cerci-10mil
Inigio Martinez-10mil

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Imired berbatov! A poor substitute for the very hard working Giroud, we would completely change our game for your he days he didn't fancy it

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi gunner 62 yep I kno berbatov is lazy but I don't see us buying a true world class striker in January I think.with our supply he should do OK and score a few goals

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 19:26:29
Maybe i'm just being a bit daft but has anybody else noticed that Santi doesn't seem to have the same style, grace and flair he showed last season?

I know he hasn't long been back from an injury and is probably still finding his feet but he seems half the player he was last season. He seems to have gone into his shell since Ozil has arrived and doesn't seem like the same player.

Like I said, maybe i'm just being a bit daft.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hello mate. Yep I agree with the Santi thing. Thinking that when he started nobody really knew what he was all about. But now he has been rumbled he is finding it hard to play like he use to. He will have to now re adapt himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

He isn't at his best ummm not sure why mate

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 19:22:22
As said by previous people, mixed emotions today. Fair play to Everton, well deserved their point, just gutted we couldn't hold onto the lead.
Not a bad weekend though, with everybody except Liverpool dropping points. Could have been better but could have been worse.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 19:15:19
Well I guess it comes down to whether your a glass half full of half empty person.
Half empty:
A missed opportunity to go seven points clear with two points dropped at home. Fortunate to get the lead and then we lose it with 8 minutes to go.
Half full:
We were out played by a better team on the day. Thankfully for us they struggled with that final ball, otherwise we wouldn't even have got the draw. Add to that even though we dropped two we gained one from the rest of the pack over the weekend.
I haven't decided which one I am yet.

Shout outs
Everton: Played some wonderful football, and deserved at least the draw.
Barkley: Great skills and as soon as he improves on his final ball he will be a top top player.
Kosielny: Great performance.
Flybo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Flybo, my glass is completely empty.

What are your views on that one heh?
(smiles)

Agree0 Disagree0

Glass completely empty:
You may as well call Alan Hanson a god and be done with it dagenham. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 18:46:04
1 - 1 not a bad result in the end as Everton did play very well. but its their loan players that have put them in this strong position. so hopefully they will nick some points off the other top sides before the loan players get recalled by their respective clubs.
I hope we can nick at least 4 points from our next 2 games. then its an easier run into the new year. then its the spurs in the FA cup

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 18:21:09
Mmmmm. We draw and I feel like we lost! Confused emotions.Everton I knew would not be a push over but hopefully they are stronger than Man City and Chelsea which, I believe they are. As I said I've got mixed emotions today. Santi wasn't really on form today, maybe because opposing teams are now on to him and the flare he showed at the beginning is now being strangled by our opposition. Anyhow onwards and upwards. My mate just had a bet on us doing the double! Very likely we could.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've been saying that myself since mid-summer, just got a feeling F.A Cup and League

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 18:02:17
Can't complain with the result today! Martinez has turned Everton into a top quality team and they'll turn over a fair few teams this year! Disappointed we conceded not long after going ahead but a draw in the end was a fair result! Need to take 4 points from the City and Chelsea games and we'll be sitting nicely!

Personally think we're 2/3 players short but I can't really complain with this season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 17:58:54
Great game of football, just wish that shot could of been a bit lower and just inside the post. This puts us in a bad position, napoli mid week what will we do. I personally would rather have key players ready for chelsea as the league for me is more important. what would you guys do?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 17:56:36
I said I'd be back.
Well played, could have gone either way.
You boys have a tough run ahead and I wish you all the best.
What a GREAT game of football!
Till next time.

08 Dec 2013 17:02:27
FA CUP DRAW. What were the odds of us facing Spurs in the draw? I know I'm going to sound like a nob to some people but it do believe that the draws are crooked. Of all the teams? I don't know! Hot and cold balls? One day it will all come out in the wash I'm sure.
0-0 half time we need to get our finger out in the second half big time maybe bring Theo in now. We'll see soon enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Goldboy, you could be onto something there mate lol

08 Dec 2013 16:56:04
Hi Gunners, Everton fan here

Just havin a look through your posts at half time and respect to you guys, classy fans and respectful like ourselves.

Unlike Utd fans last week, so up themselves it is unbelievable.

Good luck guys and like most Blues we hope you win the league, bit out of our reach lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fair play to you Degsy, I thought your boys were excellent today, well worthy of a point.
Just hope you take more points off the big boys, city, chelsea etc.
Well played today.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 16:42:56
Nervous with how much we are being outplayed in this game. I knew Everton were good but I think I underrated them. We've got the best midfield in the league by far but they don't look like it so far. Might be back to needing Wenger's magic half time team talk!
Ps hyped about spurs in the fa cup!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 16:01:07
If I had to choose to lose to a team, I would choose Everton. The next classiest club in the PL, right behind Arsenal. HOWEVER, I don't wanna lose and certainly don't choose to.

We win 2-0 today. Giroud and Wilshere.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 15:53:42
Peg them back early and go at them boys

Let the league know exactly what's up today

They're all watching

To think I was gutted when we lost our 8 point lead over united at old trafford, just goes to show avoiding the banana skins is much more important that the head to heads

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 14:40:52
Here's an interesting fact. If the league was calculated for 38 games that have been played in year 2013, Arsenal would be league champions. Just shows how well we played at the back end of last season and the beginning of this one. Let's hope we managed to stay strong and injury free and finally shut everyone up with a trophy. or two!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 14:40:20
Greetings flow gooners. Anyone else wishing David Moyes was still the manager of Everton?
I would take back Denilson's goal from that thrashing we gave them a few seasons ago for a boring 1-0 scored by this weeks leading goal scorer Mr O.G (not Olivier Giroud by the way)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 13:17:47
I hope Lukaku doesn't start today, he scares the hell out of me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He will definitely start today and has scored something like 6 in 8 games with some very good assists.

He is another Drogba type player, a beast basically. Let's see if Kos and Mert can shackle him just like they did to Suarez and Sturridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good player Bgd, I share your concerns mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah it's because he's a Drogba type i'm concerned, I think we deal a lot better with Suarez type of players. I have a bad feeling he will score today, I just hope we outscore him:)

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 11:52:25
DG and all others who are concerned about today can breathe easy, my missus says 2 0 win today, she knows very little about the game but she does seem to have a knack of predicting correct scores.

I don't ask her very often as she doesn't usually shut up long enough to get a question in, but she has come up trumps all 5 times I've managed to catch her off guard during mid pause.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My heart says 2-0 but my head says we might concede as we've kept 7 clean sheets in 8 games and I fear we might break that run.

I'd settle for a 2-1 but hopefully 3-1! Giroud definitely scoring today!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol thanks G62 and if Mrs G62 is correct I think you should make tea all evening and make Mrs G62 breakfast in bed in the morning mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play DG but if she is wrong she has to shut up for an hour, plus during that hour I have to be in the house at the time and awake.
Hope its 1 0 or 3 0 or any other win than 2 0 now

Liverpool fan in peace,
Here's the deal. You guys draw 0-0 with Everton today (tell Rambo not to go too hard). And next week we stuff Spurs for your enjoyment. Fair?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spurs aren't really a threat and I get more enjoyment from 3 points on the board thanks, so a nice win today and a good ol mediocre 0-0 from you guys next week with the spurs will do lovely!

Thanks though

Agree0 Disagree0

How about we stuff Everton and not worry about those down the road? They are of no threat or interest to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fitz, I have just spoke to the banker and its no deal lol

Fair enough lads. Guess we'll just have to stuff 'em both then ;).

Good luck today guys, two in form teams playing some great looking football, should make this one a belter!
I wondered why Sky never showed us against United mid week, now I know they knew, this would be a more entertaining fixture!
I predict 2-1 either way (but hopefully us) the second being a late penalty through frustration. I can't see many goals, as we both have great defences.
Lets hope we get a decent ref that let's the game flow.
I'll be back after the game whatever the score, to congratulate or gloat.
COYB!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi Gods Doctor,
I hope you have a great day but come 4 oclock I hope you have a nightmare lol.
ps, Everton are a very good team mate and this will be a very very very tough game but hopefully we will get the 3 points.

What a great setting for both sets of supporters to give a minutes applause that echoes around the world via TV radio and Internet and shows just how much respect this country holds for such a fantastic man.

My prediction.
The ground is now buzzing as the two teams come out.
Predictions of score lines passing about.
The ref blows his whistle the games underway.
Nobody knows which way it will sway.
Jack passed to Mert, who clears from the back.
The ball goes to Aaron then straight back to Jack.
Santis on the wing and picks up the ball.
Does one little dribble then back in the middle.
The ball is passed through to the god that's Giroud.
It's in the back of the net!
1-0! Now I've won my bet.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wow you must have got fantastic odds on that lot happening GOLDBOY :-)
If it does just remember we're half's and if you stuck a tenner on it we can buy the club plus keep every Gooner supplied with free alcohol for life. The rest of the cash we can just be frivolous with :-) :-) :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post Goldboy, I love it.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2013 08:38:15
We are playing the best football in the league at the moment. Our defense is impregnable, our midfield is second to none and we have Giroud, mesmerizing keepers with his good looks, sweeping the ball off their feet and scoring, yes that's how good he is and Bendtner with his pony tail, I am sure that has a purpose too but let's leave that for another day. My point being, if we keep our nerves (which we seem to have in abundance this season) and our players, then nine points from the Everton, City and Chelsea games is not much to ask for and If this happens, come January we will have placed one foot firmly on the promised land.
I BELIEVE. COYG!

Man Utd dropped 25 points last season and already this season have dropped 23. Ouch

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2013 08:57:32
Southampton have 1pt from a possible 12 and still sit above United in the league. Ouch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton hadn't won at Old Trafford for 21 years but won 1-0 this week.

Newcastle hadn't won at Old Trafford for 42 years but won 1-0 this week.

Ouch!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Jenny, sounds like a double ouch for Manchester United and if we win today that puts us 15 points above them, I predict a tsunami of ouches at Old Trafford.

I read this on a news website and thought it was worth sharing .
Is this league real? I keep thinking I may be stuck in a perpetual game of Champ Manager - You know, the one where Fergie retires two seasons in and for the next 10 seasons they plummet through the leagues.
Posted this a few months back, but it just seems so very apt right now to post it again. This one's for Lord Fergie and all who sailed in him.
Dear Wee Club in the North West,
Welcome to mediocrity and a new title race -
How to beat The Plebs into 7th place.
To going out of cups in the early rounds,
and playing home games in a half empty ground
For your fans are fickle. can't you see?
They won't travel from London now Chelsea are top 3.
And here's to your home, The Theatre of Dreams,
soon to become. The Auditorium of Screams,
"Moyes out, Moyes out. Bring back that bloke with the massive red snout,
this new bloke is crap and he's never won owt,
we'll take back Sir Alex with his nose full of gout!"
The future's bright. but, the future is clear,
It's Chelsea or City for the next 20 years,
or maybe Spurs,
Arsenal too,
The Toon have more chance of top 4 than you!
So. here's to the fat one jumping ship, to Giggsy playing with a plastic hip,
to kids in Asia wearing City tops, to losing games at a rate of knots.
Here's to your fans and reality, no more Titles or Wem-ber-lee!
As Ferdinand tweets, 'still best in the land',
The Prawn Brigade claps in the empty stands.
And all Hail Moyes, 'The Chosen One'
and the return of Sir Alex for his failed swan-song.
For over time, Red turns to Blue and before you know it.
you're Everton too (except much rubbishter)'
'What's that? Oh.you lost to them too!'
Yours Sincerely,
A fan of that Wee Club in the North East
