I can understand why Wenger wants arsenal fans to be more like spurs fans! Spurs fans want Wenger to stay.

Ha ha. But what a ridiculous thing to say to arsenal fans. What does he want us to do be happy with small mercies.

It wasn't a very intelligent thing to say and in any event the Toot fans can turn very quickly on their team and manager when things aren't going well. Saying that and I am also guilty of it, we fans don't always appreciate Wenger, nor do we get behind the team as much as we should. Tomorrow, we should get behind Wenger and the team and roar them on, giving them confidence and putting the fear of god into the Hull players. In 20 years Wenger has given us trophies, a new training ground, a new stadium, CL football every season, a top four finish every season, attractive football played by some of the world's top players, financial stability, etc. What have the Toot had? A couple of League Cups, many managers, 2 CL finishes, few top four placings. As raver well knows, the pain at the lane just goes on, so let thm cheer abject failure if that's what suits them.

RG - totally agree and so does our next manager : Garry Neville.

Totally with you RG. Of course we all want the best for our team, but fans need to stop 'expecting' this to happen, especially if we are not behind the team in the first place. Arsenal are not going anywhere. If we finish top 4 or not, the club will still have a beating heart for many, many years, and I will always be behind them. My love for the club is not based on the trophies it wins, rather the history, the players, the stadium, the colours, the kit, and even the manager lol. let's get behind the team, stop adding more pressure to every game, show the club how much we all love them.

Peace out handsome Goons.

Gary Neville, a great managerial career! It's easy to chat, but managing ain't easy!

It's ironic that given we're in the same possition and poch as of yet hasn't finished above arsenal and the spurs fans are over the moon lol.

The fans do support the team, just like any other team. Wenger is getting the arsenal mixed up with his arsene. When the team does well the fans show it and the opposite, the same aplies to the manager. It goes for all clubs.

Maybe it was Arsenes way of saying get used to not winning anything 😂.

I think ospina may get a run in the team, he should play fa cup and champs league, I think he may start sat, cech has been poor for a while now. Once in he may keep his spot for a while.

He deserves a run in the team.

He's not better or worse than Cech.

His stats say better but I just think he's been given a bad deal Dags. It should be a fair battle from now.

Agree with you there Steve, maybe being out of the team will force Cech to improve and fight for his place back too.

Cech's finished.

We have had our moan, so now let's gets behind Wenger and the team and thrash Hull on Saturday. We are still in the CL and the FA Cup, so there is plenty to play for.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - your right about still having things to play for RG but thrashing hull may not be as easy as you think, they beat liverpool last week after drawing and beating united the week before so they will be no pushovers mate, and if the players have the mindset that they did against watford then its a potential banana skin..

09 Feb 2017 17:03:01
Their new manager is doing an amazing job.

09 Feb 2017 17:16:57
I'd like to think they'd go in with the mindset of we've been very rubbish lately we need to up our game and remind people what we're capable of. Basically our end of season mindset.

Pressures off and there's nothing to play for so we will steamroller them.

Sano, there you go putting the curse on them.

Perez has got to be given a run of games, what was the point in splashing the cash on him otherwise, he looks dangerous every time he plays.

Agreed! Not sure why we bought him he's getting goals and assists so not like he needs time to settle.

Agreed, especially after Walcott's terrible display against Chelsea.

Seen a few mentions about coq so thought I'd make a post and ask. What are people's opinions about him lately. I was so impressed with him last season but not so much lately. Has seemed very easily pushed off the ball lately. Especially with the hazard goal. And our win ratio with him is very poor compared to without him. But obviously stats like that don't tell the whole story. Am I being too critical? Has his form dipped. Or was we just in such desperate need for a DM It made him look exceptional due to a lack of anyone playing there for so long.

His form has dipped like nearly all the players. I don't think he has been any better or worse than most. The team is performing poorly and its hard to do well in that situation. I can't think of a player who performed against chelski. I also think he needs help in midfield, last season he had caz next to him and both were very good, this year he's had every one possible.

I do think the new manager next season will address that area as well.

He was extremely poor on the goal but all the goals we conceded were awful so he wasn't alone against Chelsea.

I think he is a solid player, I rather have him in the squad then not have him. Think he misses cazorla alot. Without Cazorla he seems to be trying to push the team forward a lot more. But just doesn't have the guile or the passing to do so. He seems to forgotten what he's good at which is sit and defend.

Coq had a good run of performances, the trouble is he is the best of what we have in that position. He is not good enough. Could he have laced the boots of Vieira/ Gilberto or Petit? He is poor in possession meaning we have to play a deep play maker, this works with Santi due to his quality but other have proved they are not up to the task.

For my money he needs replacing with a top end physical/ powerful dynamic player. but I've been calling for this for 6/ 7 years.

Everyone makes good points here. Steve is right about the whole teams form and performance against Chelsea. But also mayson is right. There's a better we should be aiming for. I know it's been talked to death but kante would've been a much better choice. I'm sure there's others without thinking tho but that's the scouts job lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2017 16:18:55
Coq is a very average player, a squad player at best. He doesn't get called up for his national team, which is rare in a player in a top four side. i think we were surprised when he returned from his loan to Charlton and we finally had a DM player that could tackle! Now we have Xhaka and Elneny, who are both better, in my opinion, than him.

I think Steve makes a good point in that not having a consistent partnership this season hasn't exactly helped his development. I think he is an ok player who should get better, but for me more of an issue is again that none of our midfielders really offer anything different from each other, especially on the physical front. I would love at least one big, tall and strong defensive midfielder who offered something different than the Coq, Elneny, Ramsey, wilshere, xhaka, etc etc.

Matuidi for me epping, I really like the guy but we do need a bruiser in there who can run the game.

I have always rated Krychowiak Steve so maybe we could do a double raid on PSG. You get your feisty midfielder and I get my 6ft midfielder. Sadly though, despite us being financially bigger than PSG we act like a much smaller team in the transfer market so I could only see our players going to them, not vice versa.
