i posted last summer that cesc had asked to come back to the emirates and I got loads of abuse.

he is coming back

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes but mate we've been through this. You said not long ago he's coming back, and then when it looked like he wasn't, you turned around and said 'it might be this summer, but could be next summer' - come on man that's not a rumour even, that's just guess work!

I still believe if Cesc came back this summer then he wouldn't be welcome in his home city. I think he's got it all to achieve there still and I think he will.

Agree0 Disagree0

And you expect no abuse this time because?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you are right Mal,

Agree0 Disagree0

No, he's not. Malaga when will you learn?

I still laugh at your DISCO post!

I'm not ITK and won't pretend to be but all I say is FFS let's get out business done right this time. We have a good squad now do it's time to bring in those world class players that tilt the balance. As city showed last season as team of superstars don't make champions but we need a world class game changing striker who when were desperate will put that 30 yarder in or that 2 ff tap in. So come on AW finish in style and bring us a trophy back, up the gooners

Although makes for good reading, this Higuain story really has shown how little people really know about what's going on inside the emirates.
Arsenal will end up without any of the suggest "big names" this season, it's all down to PR for selling season tickets & new shirt sales.
Sadly this is a little closer to the truth than any top player all us paying supporters deserve!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The shirt sales point is a little of the mark.
If you bought a shirt with Higuain on the back before he signed you don't deserve the money!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just be patient we ll get the right players just keep the faith, shirt sales are only improved by signing new players I reckon we ll see some signings by the end of the week lots of talk about a return for a certain spaniard. Watch this space.

Season tickets were sorted in June. If a few promising bargin buckets from France arrive and no big players, then Wenger will become a very unpopular person. The signings, or lack of them will fall squarely on Wengers shoulders. the reason for this is due to the power he has at the club. He wealds more power than any other manager in the EPL and maybe more than Any Coach in world football. He tells the CEO how much we should pay in both wages and Fee. Time will tell. km

Agree0 Disagree0

Hassan you've missed the point a little mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Season ticks have already been paid for this season (I know I've paid for mine ages ago).

So do you honestly think they are working on us now, with all this "PR", so that we will renew for next season!

Seriously, the fans are going to be furious when the win closes, without any significant purchase (s).

If it wasn't already bad enough for many disillusioned fans, IG has really set the expectations bar high with his announcement. I think the back leash will be huge, with years of mounting frustration.

Plus, they would sell more shirts by signing new players.?

Sorry your post doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me.

I am still (quietly) hopeful we will get some good signings this summer.

If Higuain is not coming to Arsenal then why is there no betting on him going to clubs. Looks to me it's the same as always, they drag on and on. Truth be known, he's probably agread, fees agread, wages and just needs medical and to sign. So maybe another 6 weeks or so should do it.

we all really know how this will play out, a bid for player a, rejected, we won't up the offer, man city or chelski come in and buy. we bid for player b, rejected. we won't up the offer man city or chelski come in and buy. see a pattern?
wenger you are in charge of this, you can't act like this anymore, if we want a player you have to pay the price, moaning you won't get into a bidding war won't cut it any more. the fan base really need a major signing, and soon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would the club listen to clueless fans like you when bidding for players.
most fans have no idea what it takes to buy a player you make it sound like buying a can beans from the super market.
as if the board gives a monkies what you think lol!
just watch the team when they play and leave the rest to the pros and if you don't like it then there are lots of other teams to go and support.
some fans are so up their own a**es its unbelievable.
COYG

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's not get angry. wait and see but I bet I'm right. been supporting 45 yrs so think I got a handle on it

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second comment i'm sorry if your not going to spend money why come out and say you have a war chest.

Leave it to the pro's we have for years and we haven't won anything celebrating 4th place like it's a trophy i'm sorry Arsenal are in a bad state or affairs if we don't sign some top class players how long do you think Wilshere will stay honestly without a chance of winning anything?

If were not going to spend the money we have why boast about it especially if we're holding back over a couple of million when were offering 22+. Yes players values are ridiculous and so are wages but were here in todays market not in the past if we want higuian pay the extra 2 million guarantee champions league and respect the fans.

We have one of the most expensive season tickets in the world and have a positive balance most years. People are happy to spend money if its reinvested in winning. How the board and wenger can raise prices and in some cases their wages without any end product is beyond disbelief i'm sorry saying other fans are up their own ar**s for wanting to show some ambition is ridiculous. You're the kind of fan that holds us back who is happy for 4th. When most people think 3 world class signings would have us competing for the title and would at least show the respect to the fans they deserves as we pay so much money.

If we have 70 million spend it don't dilly dally over a couple million if they're your main target and someone you think will improve and fit in the team take the chance. You don't get anywhere in life without taking risks.

Every year its the same false promises and fake hope of change. I personally want Wenger to stay but only if he changes his policies of transfers and wages given to players who don't deserve it.

Yeah you should support the team whatever, agreed. But they lie, deceive and then in some cases it seems blatantly mock us or take us for muggs. So don't call us plastic fans or persons for thinking the board should listen to their fans. The board should give a MONKIES how we feel, we should be relevant to them, were they're income. Unfortunately that's the only way they view us apparently. Big pr stunt at the kit launch watch out! = Some players in kits. Wow.

I think and hope this year will be different, and I would love for me to be wrong about how are clubs run. I want quality signings and think they could happen but its same every year. So inside i'm just going to wait and accept were not that active anymore and if anything happens I will be extremely happy.

If we signed Cesar, Fellaini, Higuian and a cheap midfielder/playmaker. I would be happy or a CB/RB like Richards even happier. It might happen probably wont.

I know a bit doom or gloom in some aspects but how long have we been denied the truth and deceived. Why do we pay so much for fake hopes with no respect shown to us. Because we accept. I hope things change. Well wait and see. Hopefully there's some updates or arsenal.com soon. COYG

Bournemouth Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Bournemouth 100%, as a season ticket holder this will be my last year with a season ticket unless there is significant investment in the team - I'm tired of paying high prices to watch some players amble about like they don't give a toss, and a manager who never seems to pull the players up if they don't put the effort in. Far too muych is given to squad players in wages - check how much they'd be on at Man United or Liverpool, no way would they pay what Wenger sanctions to bit part players and seldom used subs.

Arsenal looking to cash in on giroud with inter Milan the most likely destination in a deal that would fund the signing of Marouane Fellaini

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Giroud isn't going anywhere and we aren't getting Fellaini.

Nothing to do with your news mate- but my immediate response to this, is, yeah cause we really need the money don't we?

Just ask IG.

Agree0 Disagree0

I smell something what is though? Hmmm oh it's bulls**t! Why would we sell our only recognised striker?! He had a decent first season and will improve plus we're trying to build a squad not break it up!

SM1996

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous! Why on earth would Arsenal sell Giroud to fund the transfer of Fellaini? Arsenal do not need to sell before buying. The money is there, and transfers will happen. Just got to be patient, guys. A lot of players had left, and replacements will be bought! We will get a big-name signing this summer, and the future is bright.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No chance of us signing anyone of notice before we go on tour, in fact I doubt seriously the arrival of any big name. The club is doing great business selling/loaning players away from the club I fully support and hope it continues there's still lots to go.

Why is everyone wanting Fellaini? Did I watch different match of the day last season? He was ok, had a a couple of stand out games but nowhere near the value being bandied about.

Holmesy

This is what will happen.

At the next Arsenal press conference, Wenger will be asked about transfers. He'll play coy, say something like

Wenger: ". We are looking yes for top top quality, and only for the right player to improve our squad"

Journalist: "What about reports of a deal for Higuain?"

Wenger: "He is a player I like"

Then he'll be pushed on it, something like

Journalist: ". are you in talks with Real, is he on his way to Arsenal?"

Wenger: "We have already Giourd, and Poldolski in that position, Theo too. Also we have Sanogo to provide us wid a lidil bit of options"

Journalist: Does that mean you are not interested in Higuain?

Wenger: ". he is a player I like. Like I said, we have top top quality in our squad"

Journalist: What about other reports linking you with Fellaini and Barry?

Wenger: "I don't know about dat"

Transfer Window Closes - The End.

I've just listened to talkcrap and somehow you have to agree that with a purported war chest of 70-100 mill. we should have secured at least one marquee signing. Pere Guardiola had meeting with Liverpool, and told them Suarez still wants to leave the club. Suarez himself had this to say. "It is good to know that I am still valued by teams like Arsenal. Friends call me up to ask if I am moving to Chelsea, to which I laugh. " Not sure if he is laughing at the thought of going to Chelsea or his friends asking. Looks like he could be interested in moving to us. I wonder though if with Gomez moving on whether Bayern could move for him? Not getting ahead of myself I very much doubt we will get him, still Iove it to happen though.

I knw m nt registered. But I srsly want any of the eds to post this.

If arsenal did try to bid for suarez just to make RM sell higuain it has only one consequence. Total backfire.

RM are not getting suarez because they don't have the cash and liverpool's valuation is far higher. We bid. The rate goes further up for RM to buy him. In that case why do all of us think that RM will forced to sell their striker at a lower price that we are willingcto meet. If liverpool wants max frm RM. SO WILL RM WANT frm us.

RPD

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Arsenal are not going to increase their bid for Higuain. If madrid don't want to sell him to us at the price last agreed, we have decided to walk away. that is how we do business, on principle.

the Suarez bid was real. the leak came from liverpool to get a bidding war. They also made statements to say they are not selling Suarez, but the reality is for a suitable fee, he will be sold.

Madrid do have money, but their advances are more towards bale, but the response from tottenham has been negative, and they do not want to damage their relations.

Di Maria and Coentrao have been offered in one exchange package awhile back but that did not go far, due to the valuation of the madrid players.

All I can say now, is that Arsenal are going to do what they do best, haggle and then the result will be left to be determined. either we could end up with 2-3 borderline world class players or we will end up spending 35 mill on 3 players.

My honest feeling right now is that today we will be reminded that the club is still woefully out of touch with the fans. It is not an audacious stunt putting up a spread of our lads in the new kit on the stadium. It's not an audacious stunt revealing a statue either.

I think the chances of a player being unveiled are -10 out of 10, because when was the last time the people at the club showed excitement about something, told the fans, and then delivered? Arshavin.

I think the social media world will go into meltdown after today, I really do!

Here's hoping I am shown up by the club later!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2013 13:59:57
The thing about this kit reveal is, why?

Why make this big a fuss over a kit? I can't logically think of a time when we've ever done this before nor a reason for making this kind of fuss. Especially when we already know what it looks like.

Surely Arsenal know full well what conclusion we'll jump to, and to be honest, it feels like nothing will happen and it's another exercise in stringing us along again. Which if it is, why?

God, I'm so confused by this whole thing. Makes no sense, UNLESS a new player is modelling this kit. But then it'd have to be a big signing that'd get people excited enough to justify that kind of grand reveal and I just can't picture it.

I will however hope for Higuain, a Cesc return or that maybe we've been saving up for the last decade to buy Messi, and that Barca singed Neymar as his replacement ;)

I think like someone else said, could be a Bergkamp statue, which he totally deserves, but will leave me dejected no doubt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Imagine if they used a new singing to unveil the kit and nobody had a clue who the guy was! I would cry with laughter!

Agree0 Disagree0

So what if it's just a kit revealing
cermony, are u not curious at all? The more the club do to make people interested, the more fans we get. The signings will come, trust the Arsenal!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dejection it is then

Agree0 Disagree0

Well it seems Arsenal and Gazidas consider a picture on the side of the stadium an "audacious publicity stunt", it must have taken then months and a lot of effort to come up with that. perhaps we should sue them under the trades description act as its not audacious and barely even a publicity stunt

Agree0 Disagree0

Viking, I agree with what you say, but if the marketing director of Arsenal comes out and says be prepared for an audacious stunt we expect more than just our homegrown players standing on a podium in the kit. He's not stupid, it was a stunt, but it was a stunt to get as much spotlight on the kit as possible, nothing more, sadly! Still, best away kit we've had for years!

Agree0 Disagree0

Davo I would have to accept Benteke and there's no doubt he's a great player, but I know he wouldn't be coming to us because he wants to play for us. He just wants to play for anyone. IMO he wouldn't start ahead of Podolski if Pod were being used correctly, he's got cheek thinking he'd walk into teams better than Villa!

He'd walk into Spurs because they have no strikers but here he'd be 'another option'. We don't need 'another option' we need at least one first choice world class striker and we need someone like Sturridge/Defoe/Remy kind of mould to replace or take over from Gervinho. We don't need Benteke unless we're selling Giroud.

As long as he did his talking on the pitch though, I'd obviously accept him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Understand that, not sure if I would want him at the lane, would much rather have Lukaka! Still, if you don't want Higuain, I would much rather spend £25 mill on him, complete player! Thinking of him and Bale together with Paulinho, Dembele and Sandro, make me very happy!

Everybody needs to just calm down!

It is true we have not signed anybody yet, but we are still 2 months away from the end of the transfer window.

Have some faith in the club, I feel this will be a very positive window for us this season. We will be in a far better position with our squad than we have ever been at the END of the transfer window.

If we do not sign anybody of a decent calibre the fans on here who are criticising the club will still go to ever game, Yes you will moan but you will not take any action.

If the club let's us down then we will have to find a real tangible voice but until that happens, let's be patient and have some faith that the people who run the club are in tune with the fans, but more importantly have the vison and ambition to match the passionate support that we show for our beloved club.

What have the board been doing for the last 5 months, they should have been planning for this opportunity to improve the team but clearly they have not. Its time to change their attitude to wanting to improve and win things for the fans!

In my opinion the saurez bid from arsenal was a dummy bid. They knew the wouldn't get him for that price and that he more than likely wouldn't go they just wanted real madrid to poo there pants bid for saurez. therefore making the higuain deal hurry along.

Submitting a bid to Suarez, I believe it is physiological game between Wenger and Perez
I believe the idea is " ok, you don't give us Hig, we will get your target Suarez.
I might be wrong, but don't think Wenger will want to deal with such an attitude as Suarez. look at the past, all those attitude players are gone, and he doesn't want players with such an ego. or maybe it is a game between BR and AW who knows to teas Madrid

What annoys me is when the press print story's like 'Arsenal in for Higuain' or 'Arsenal in for Fellaini' EVERYONE DOUBTS IT!

When the print negative story's like Barry people believe it and slate Wenger, the Board etc, everyone has the right to criticise but atleast be consistent or at minimum at least don't slate the squad based on transfer garbage in the Star. Bids and Enquiries are concrete on: Rooney, Higuain, Bedner and 'apparently' Suarerz (according to the Eds here) to whom I have no reason to doubt) So we have changed our policy and we are willing to spend. It will take time though AW will still like a bargain and if clubs know what we have available financially then we will be priced out so the negotitations will take some amount of time.

Chill the nerves, take a vallium, put the feet up and let what happens happen.

Also, please lay off the signing of Sanogo, we have lost a lot of fringe / squad / youth players and they will all need replacing, some of the comments towards Sanogo have been utterly embarrassing and anyone criticising him because he isn't Higuian or Rooney should be completely ashamed and hang their heads. You are the same 'fans' who will say 'I knew he was class' if he does well.

Part pooping moment: Also the 'Audacious Stunt' today is the unveiling of a massive banner outside the Emirates with the current squad in the new kit, I have seen images of it being put up last night.

So at 3. 30pm Arsenal's marketing director Charlie Allen has teased us with along with the unveiling of the new away kit (yeah I've seen it too) there will also be a "very audacious stunt. "
So what's it going to be?
The unveiling of a new signing?
The unveiling of the Dennis Bergkamp statue?
Obviously the first would be my preference, but if not then I'm hoping for Ivan Gazidas to burst into flames while jumping off the Emirates landing in a shark invested pool. Now that really would be an audacious stunt worth watching.
God I'm bored

Call it a hunch but i'm expecting a surprise along with it ( I may be wrong)possibly the announcement of a player returning? let's wait an see.

Quick question, everyone seems to know the positions that need to be addressed ie gk, cb, dm and possibly right back if sagna leaves but would anyone be willing to use the personel we currently have for they positions if it meant having a strike force of higuain and saurez?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Absolutely- take your arm off right now!

We would score a lot of goals with those two and what we have now isn't so bad, so yeah deffo!

Suarez link was to force Real into making a decision over Higuain and now Benteke is available Perez knows we can redirect our intention away from Higuain, leaving Real with a player who wants to leave.
I expect Higuain to move by the end of the week and Fellaini to follow aloing with one or two players from France

Read somewhere that Mourinho said "Higuain is the laziest player I have ever worked with. " If that's anything to go by, then at least we don't have to worry that Jose will challenge for his signature.

I don't care if he is lazy, he can go onto the pitch with a chair and a bed if he wants to!

I definitely know he will score goals, lazy or not

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No he didn't, he said Gonzalo is the least vain player at madrid, if he could turn up to training in his pyjamas he would.

Would Barry be as bad a signing some seem to think?

He would be a safe but unspectacular signing which is kind of what you want from a DM. A defensive midfielder is not really a young man's position, Barry for example started out his career at Villa on the left of the back three before moving onto the left wing via left back, before settling in the middle of the park. He could be an Arteta-like signing (albeit older and less technically gifted), one crucial thing is that he is a Premier League winner.

Providing he has realistic wage demands I think he could be a good short term signing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No! please! A cast off like Sylvestre.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not just a bad signing would be a terrible signing. We keep talking signings of intent well Barry would not fall into that category but the backward step signing category. Please just be paper s**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry has played over 30 league games each season he has been at Man City. Silvestre managed a total of 17 in his final 2 seasons at Utd. If Barry is a cast off he is a cast off due to a change of manager and apparently Man City fans rate him very highly.

Don't get me wrong I would rather see someone like Fellani however Barry is not 5 times worse and the money could be spent elsewhere in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry is awful. We shouldtry to sign Fellaini.

The way I interpret the Gareth Barry rumours is he can play (or used to be able to anyway) centre half.
It wouldny be a bad idea having him in place of tommy v if he's looking to move on.
Hes not a bad player really - slow yes, but hard working and willing to put the foot in. Also experienced and Hg
As long as we get fellaini as well could be an astute bit of business

papers now linking Man city with Jovetic, Looks like our striker options are dwindling, if they manage to sign him for 25mill.

Fiorentina will not accept anything under 25mill apparently.

This could be bad, as they may think Higuain would be worth that amount while Jovetic may not

We are Arsenal and well known to be brilliant, I wonder why we are now getting blown off by a cheap transfer puzzle.

Remeber when we were kids and teacher gave a puzzle like: 2+2+ (__)= 10. 5, and still went on claiming the answer is not 6. 5 'psychological game' wake up!

Questions to guide your thought:
-Juve pulled out of the race given a rather too ridiculous excuse (they avoid to state that another club has wrap up his deal)
-If HG is still available, why is he not link with other clubs?

Hi there

Arsenal have not put any official bid for Higuain, but they bid for suarez and now elsharaway. Man this sucks, the player we have been working to get him in red and yellow jersey so badly, AW has not put in any bid? don't you all think this sucks.
they bid 30 million. cmon, it is common sense wenger knows Liverpool will never sell suarez to arsenal and that to on 30 million when the market shows his value to be some where between 35-40 million. there is something seriously wrong with arsenal management.

why would RM talk about selling higuain when no official bid has been submitted. unless an official bid is submitted, perez will never put a player for sale. this does devalues the player. by not submitting any bid and perez saying this in the media, this clearly shows that higuain is still available for other clubs as well. all top clubs in Europe need a 30 goal striker. ( arsenal, chelsea, napoli, even dortmund if they sell levendoski, even Liverpool and yes man city who definately watching higuain transfer saga carefully, and he must be in their Shortlist of top 5 strikers. if they are not able to buy other strikers, I believe they will look for higuain as he is no doubt world class. AW has also bid for bender but not higuain. why is that higuain? he wants to show I bid for top class talent but could not get them signed as clubs rejected the offer or other clubs put in much greater package overall, which we can not match. why bid for these players, even if suarez was available for half the current price AW will never buy a player like him because he has anger issues and bad attitude. please AW stop kidding around start buying. if u don't then what will be left for you will be Kevin Jones! everyone why AW has not put in an official bid for higuain? please let me know because I am not able to understand this? atleast put in a bid. I think higuain father said RM have given permissions to settle deal with arsenal, but RM must have got an inquiry from one or two other clubs as well, thus want a bidding war for max value. he is saying we want to keep higuain, is a lie I am sure they will sell him. this again is a tactic. what you all gooners think, let me know.

AW PLEASE don't TORTURE US! EVERYDAY PASSES AWAY AND NO PLAYER IS BOUGHT, IT KILLS US ALL

IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO BUY HIGUAIN, GUYS WE THEN SERIOUSLY NEED A REVOLT? BECAUSE THIS WILL SERIOUSLY DIMINISH ARSENAL IF WE don't WIN TROPHIES SOON.

GOONERS!
cheers!
Gunner for life.

Away from all the transfer news, how squad is our strong compared to the other top 6 clubs. I personally believe we should emulate Man. United transfer dealings of last season. Focus on Suarez, Ceaser & J. Mikel Obi (he's the best at protecting a back line in the EPL). let's forget about all these players outside the EPL. (Man United must be glad they didn't get L. Moura).

Believe it or not we have a strong squad: It's only lacking a DM & a top class striker & maybe an experienced keeper. I think this is what cost us last season, let's fix that.

Our £70 million would get these players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is trying to fix that, but I think the 70 mill also includes wages.

25 mill +8 mill in wages for higuain =33 mill
24 mill + 6 mill in wages for fellaini =30 mi
3-5 mill + 3-4 mill in wages for GK = 9 mill (top end for GK)

thats 70 mill on 3 players roughly.

his warchest must surely also be for the signing of youth players and their contracts too, so at the end the 70 mill warchest is not really a war chest, more like a piggy bank.

Agree0 Disagree0

John Obi Mikel. bit early to be off your rocker isn't is?

Man Utd won the title last season with a solid defence, no midfield and judas.

We are not a million miles away, if we buy well we can challenge without a doubt.

But not with Mikel, he is pants

Agree0 Disagree0

If you really want Mikel that much I'll drive him to the Emirates! Awful passer, can't contribute to attacking play and very one dimensional.

I really think that Arsene Wenger has already made some signings. Its just an lnkling, not from anyone's dog or anyone's second cousin twice removed who works for Emirates etc. Arsene understands the pressure that the club is under, more than all the fans put together. I do not think he will make the past mistakes again. One thing I do know is he will try and get good deals done in secret. As experienced as he is, I do not think he waited until the first of July to start negotiations. Targets have long since been identified and am sure some deals have already been agreed. I think its a matter of timing when to announce the signings.

If I am wrong, then I will be convinced that the problem rests with the board rather than Arsene. because they should be pushing him to buy since they "gave him such a big warchest"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope you're right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope so I am hoping that wenger has done the deals already? If not they need 2 answer to the fans

Agree0 Disagree0

If the fans don't feel optimistic for the new season, how will the team feel?

even wilshere said you can't win the league with 18 players. world class additions are necessary.

If we have to buy suarez, fellaini and higuain for a grand total of 100 mill, we have to do it. otherwise we talk more than we act.

4th spot frustration will be the best we can muster.

Hi guys

Does anyone think we will sign Jovetic now gomez is at fiorentina, if so do you think we will get higuain? Could be like Henry and Bergkamp again. I'd love to see it

Bergkamp5353

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When higuain is available then we should get him.

Teams in Italy can't afford him, teams in Germany the big teams have their strikers, and I really don't see Bayern wanting him, they should land lewandowski at the last minute.

Mancity, Spurs, liverpool and US. those are the teams who would be interested in him.

liverpool won't do a swap, as it would devalue their striker, and I don't see it happening. Man city are still very quiet and I fear they may take him from us. spurs would probably offer him the moon, so its an open game now.

I wouldn't. want Benteke any way near arsenal, this guy is all about money, correct me if I am wrong but didn't he go on a strike to force a move to Villa last year, now this year he has handed a transfer request. If he comes to us and performs well than next year he will again try to force a move to a bigger club that would pay him more.
. apart from that. the money villa is asking for him is also to much, which I think we will never pay

signing Barry would be an offence worthy of sacking for me. He is a disgraceful player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just some perspective, it depends who else wenger brings in- if he is a short-term squad/back-up player, because we have brought a good dm whatever as well, I won't feel so bad.

So for me its in context (although I still won't be exactly happy tbh).

If he is the only type of central mid added to the squad this summer, then I would have think what the hell is wenger doing and for me it would be a serious backwards step.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, post of the day for me

Wenger barely likes to spend money on old players, offers them a max one year deal, and he won't be paying Barry 100k a week to sit on the bench.

i would be massively surprised if he did.

if wenger signs Higuain, fellaini and a GK, I don't care if we have barry as the 23rd man. but to sign Barry and not any of the other 3? massive shock

Do you think that the talk about all this money and big signings was just a lie to get people to renew there season tickets. I know 7 ticket holders and all except 1 said they was getting rid this season. But with all the talk of this money they have renewed. They could just drag the rumours out as they usually do and come up with the same excuse the price was too high or the wages are too much, and end up buying second class players.
I hope I am wrong but what do you guys think

Well it's one thing to leave because a massive team came in for you and offered your club a fee they couldn't ignore - it's another to have a club fork out a massive fee for you, only for you to go an ditch them after one season.

I can completely understand that money talks and big players want to play at very highest end in football, but honestly, Benteke handing in an actual TF request? That's a disgrace. Make no mistake, Aston Villa are a big club, they're trying to do things the hard way and they have a manager with a long view who is building something with young players in the hope that they gain experience as a unit and develop into a successful team. It's highly ambitious and he showed faith in Benteke when he had Bent at the club. Aston Villa have literally lost a fortune on Bent because of what they did for Benteke. Weimann signed a new deal (I think) and they have a project that needs the belief of the players.

Benteke has strolled into the prem as a kid, done very well and actually ASKED to leave at first proper chance. Sorry but that is a disgrace and I would be absolutely gutted for the Villa fans. Obviously I know exactly how it feels as a gooner when players don't believe in what the manager is tryingt o achieve, or they don't want to give back to the manager for the faith and investment in them, or they think the grass is greener elsewhere.

Guess what Benteke, if you play badly at Villa you'll get picked every week. You play badly at Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal or anywhere else and you're getting dropped. You're a kid with a lot to learn, bad ditching the club that brought you to the spotlight!

Believable0 Unbelievable0
