What time is the kit luanch

Believable0 Unbelievable0

D16 says it's 11pm. So work on Friday can just be me sleeping!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 23:01:18
Serious? that's wicked late!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 23:03:56
It's Defo 11pm I looked on arsenal.com. Well that's when the presentation starts so who knows what time. Stupid time to be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

A dumb time, no players mentioned until the weekend then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2014 00:00:46
I can't see me doing any work tomorrow night

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that not the time they go on sale?

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see why people think a player would be unveiled tonight but I can't see it. Puma are investing a huge amount of money on arsenal. Their first major deal of this size in football. Why would they want to share the limelight?
If it was a puma endorsed player maybe. Also Wenger is still in Brasil and will be till next week. I may be wrong but I'm not getting over excited about it

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point Rocky. If we unveil a new signing at the same time as the kit, the player will steal the headlines and overshadow the kit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the player would further promote tge sponser. i.e sanchez would promote puma in chille.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2014 16:48:23
I see where your coming from but
unveiling the players would be good for Puma when the story is reported on every article will say
"At the launch of the new puma partnership etc."
Plus it gives them an opportunity to take the credit

-Puma with they're landmark deal has afforded Arsenal the financial might to draw big players, yada yada bright future, more stars, puma brand etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2014 16:50:55
Plus they're are people who have no interest in Arsenal/Puma association but are definietly interested in the transfer dealings.

It's all about having eyes on the brand and Puma will be plastered on every background of every snap that makes every article.

Let's wait and see though. Maybe we haven't signed anyone yet even!

Hi Ed,
I am a new poster but big follower

I was wondering what your opinion was of how the World Cup impacts transfer dealings? Do you think it impedes the transfer window or improves it?

Also, any news on morgan schneiderlin? A vital signing but I can't see Southampton accepting a bid with their whole squad suddenly off to Liverpool!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it certainly impedes it lukeravs, if a player has a half decent world cup, his value rockets, and not only that, the time scale for new signings is greatly reduced..

09 Jul 2014 22:26:26
Welcome to the love shack mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've heard through the grape vine that Southampton's head is at Anfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 22:48:56
Heard Liverpool have changed their name to Liverhampton and their nickname is now the red saints.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it dags..

Well the new Dutchman down at Southampton will certainly have some dosh to spend.

Steve r,

Just noticed your avatar.

I wonder why you chose Jack Dee?

love it mate.

PS, Ed025, where's yours?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i am not a technical guy dags...an avatar is a 16ft alien in a film to me mate..

Do you know dags, I haven't got a clue. I think it must have something to do with my past life or maybe my future life. It is a good likeness though. NOT. i'm far better looking. From the back.

Ed,

There's a pic of a cool dude in shades, strolling down the beach with a Southern comfort in hand that's got your name written all over it mate, lol.

Anyone else looking forward to seeing Joel Campbell in an arsenal shirt next season?

Kid had a great world cup and has to be commended for being a key player in what I believe was the great underdog story of this years competition.

Just to get out of that group was an accomplishment never mind winning it and the Greeks are no pushovers either.

Hopefully it stands him in good stead to come back with a bit of swagger, feel like he belongs at a club like Arsenal and hit the ground running. With Walcott and Ox probably out for the start of the season I can see him being an important squad member from day one.

I hope this talk of sending him back out on loan again is bogus, I really do.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2014 22:00:08
I think we should loan him out for one more season to a Prem club, get some valuable Prem League playing time, which I don't think he will get with us this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

About 2-3 weeks ago I was agreeing with you mate, but I've started to warm to debuchy signing, prem experienced, starting for France over Sagna, a little younger and a solid right back.

I'd say good luck finding a right back that is as solid for under £10m

Agree0 Disagree0

Not convinced either way how good Campbell is. Yes he had a good couple of games but there's been plenty of underdog stories and average players raising their game beyond usual standards in the past that disappear with the higher expectation. IF he comes back it will be a culture shock with the higher standard needed to play for Arsenal. If you take his last season at Olympiacos, they play in a pretty average league. Comparable to the premier league? Championship at best. So the champions league they are generally underdogs too. Raising their game above and beyond expectation, the home game against a poor Man Utd. Not denying he scored a decent goal but would that have happened against a Fergie Led team. No chance.
I'm more than willing to see the lad given a chance but he's 22. We are about to spend out 30 odd mill on Sanchez. 25 years old and a truely world class player. With what we have all seen with Campbell do we see him being at that level in 3 years time? 50/50 at best.
There's been reports of clubs willing to pay 12-15 million for Campbell. If it was Arsenal interested in a relatively unproven Costa Rican who's been playing in Greece for 15m I think this page would be filled with angry posts.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see what your saying mate but loaning him back out for a season means he runs a year off his contract and maybe knocks his confidence a bit.

He's coming back as a stand out player of the world cup, no better time to start.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't say stand out

Agree0 Disagree0

Just throwing this one out there.

Does anyone else feel a little "underwhelmed" by Mathieu Debuchy potentially becoming an Arsenal player?

I just don't feel he's quality. He's a good solid RB but could we aim higher or am I being harsh?

Sanchez on the other hand. Call me McDonalds because I'm lovin' it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - debuchy is a solid full back greeny, arsenal are not barca mate, and cant afford world class in all positions, it will be a blend of world class and prem quality players imo..just the way it is fella..

09 Jul 2014 22:04:34
Debuchy is quality mate.

Solid right back, gets forward and has a very similar stats to Sagna.

Defensively, as solid as Sagna, 3 years younger, experienced International, Prem League experience, and has kept Sagna out of French team.

What's not to like?

Agree0 Disagree0

I felt like that to begin with mate but I read an article today that made me feel a lot more happy with him.

No specialist right-back in any of Europe's top five leagues won more aerial duels (four) per game last season than Debuchy.

That's got to help with set piece defending, an area we can be suspect at times.

Its hard to use the words world class when you think of right backs (Lahm the exception for me) but we've lost a player and replaced him with the man keeping him out of his national teams starting 11.

That has to be a step up right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes ahead of sagbo and aurier in french team, so someone thinks he's an upgrade. We will see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you on this one Dags, he is a good reliable signing, suited to the PL

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you mean Aurier who plays for the Ivory Coast?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm quite happy to be honest. He's 28 and had 18months in the premier league. We don't need to wait for him to "acclimatise" to the league. He's got better the longer he's been in the league. And at 28 it kind of still gives hope that Jenkinson can up his game when/ if given the chance so in 2-3 years he can take over. There was a lot of call for Serge Aurier. But he's 21, would need that settling in period. Something we don't want to be waiting for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 23:17:50
I think he's good, not great.

But it's been pointed out before that there are very few great full backs these days. Particularly on the right.

It's not a bad acquisition but like you're saying its Underwhelming.

Would love to have gotten Aurier, but we need more EXP and Debuchy is the right choice I think.

Personally I'd jettison Jenko for a chance at signing Aurier while he's ~£8m

Agree0 Disagree0

Well spotted wg keep thinking he's french but only plays in france.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least it will be a more even keel for Jenks to force his hand into the team! We have Gibbs and Monreal who on each of their days are very close ability wise and now Debuchy and Jenks can battle it out healthy competition on both flanks :)

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2014 16:36:17
i like Debuchy,i find him so under rated,if we would have signed Aurier then jenks would have been gutted ,
in signing debuchy we have a premier league established player and at nearly 29,if jenks potential comes on,then he can take over.so I for one am very happy with Debuchy.
And an apology to Mr Wenger,if you pull off Sanchez, get Khedira/schnerderlin/lars ,throw n a C/B and a goalkeeper I will be ecstatic, not too sure on Remy(sorry Dags) we have Poldolski, (fear he will be sold) an under rated player and should be used more often.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone looking forward to the kit release tomorrow?

After the speculation and "deals in place" talk doing the rounds, we could be really looking at a surprise entrance from a new signing. or two? Or three?

With Sanchez the name on everyone's lips, I'm sure that Puma would be keen for a model to show off the new kit!

Here's hoping!

Gooners, how is our 25 man squad list looking and what impact will any incoming transfers have on it since moat of us agree that we could beef up our assault on trophies next year with atleast 5 players (ST, RB, DM, CB/LW &GK? Will we have to sell before we can buy not because of finances but to accommodate them in the list?

We may not need to offload players from the 25 squad list before bringing in all the rumoured (5 players?) since Bendtnr, Sagna Fabianski & Kim Kallstrom were released from the 25 man squad anyway & thier place could be taken up by Sanchez, Debuchy, new GK & Bender.

That means filling one space in the 25 man squad which we didn't fill last year but since last season's transfer window when we were also trying to get Demba Ba in addition to the Ozil acquisition we still hadn't bought a striker even in the Jan window after, Kallstrom surely can't have used up our striker slot?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GK: Szcz
DF: Per, Kos, Vermaelen, Jenks, Gibbs, Monreal
MF: Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ox, Rosicky, Arteta, Flamini
FWD: Giroud, Walcott, Podolski, Campbell

So that's 19. So we have room for 6 more. That's with out Vermaelen, Cazorla and Podolski going.

We could easily buy 7/8 players this summer and still be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont forget Diaby. he's like a new signing :D

Alexis Sanchez and Debuchy. all add up to 22. Then we look like getting a DM and we need a GK which is 24

Podolski/Vermaelan/Cazorla/Arteta all chance of going I feel really hope its not Cazorla as he is magic and Podolski because he such a happy dude.

We in fine shape and have younger players Akpom/Bellerin/Eisfeld/Zelalem/Gnabry.who could all be looking to make head way into 1st team during pre season

Agree0 Disagree0

Was just wondering, are the youths included in the list of the 25 man squad? if so then I expect gnabry and zelalem to be included

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not at present waq..

I forgot Jenkinson :) I know he is a life long gooner and all but I'm not sure he's got it

Agree0 Disagree0

I know I am the same as most on here in that we have been brainwashed into thinking that because we're actually looking at making some decent signings we're are defiantly going to have to let someone go, such as Arteta, Pod or Santi to pay for it. Well I say not any more. Ok so Pod or Arteta may become expensive squad players, but who cares, it's not my job to worry about money, that's the board. Also it's not my job to keep everyone happy, that's Wengers. All I want is for us to have the strongest possible team out playing in every game. So I say enough, we're a big club who needs a big and strong squad, and our squad is stronger including the players I have mentioned. So for me we get new signings and keep the current players. As Harry Hill would say, I want nanna AND toast.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - nothing wrong with that EG, in fact i agree with all that mate..

Totally agree EG! We need to add quality to the squad and keep the majority of the current crop. Not sell them. As my post says above we can easily buy 7/8 no problem with out having to worry about.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 23:21:46
My feelings exactly Epping

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good point EG, we can't be selling off any important players starting 11 or squad

C'mon Arsene,

Make Dag's a happy Dag's and sign 'Spyder' and Loic Remy, especially 'Spyder'.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spyderman fly's solo Dags, sorry no room or need for aside kick in this one mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton have vastly over priced him like they have with many others. Bender or Khedira would cost around the same and are of better quality!

Agree0 Disagree0

Khadiera all the way.
Accept no substitute.

Really think if verm is off we should buy big at Cb - we have the money, Mert is 29 and isn't getting any younger.

Lets get a real worldie at the back to make the three of em fight for first place- Hummels would do nicely.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 23:24:00
Can someone tell me where the nickname Spyder came from?

Agree0 Disagree0

Schneider/Spider and he scuttles about tying people in his web just in front of the defense :/ maybe

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 14:29:47
Well there goes any hope for me of us ever signing Lukaku

"No dissrespect to Arsenal who is also a big club but I don't understand why ozil has left real madrid. I guess will never know. "

Doubt those are the words of a man who'd be keen to join us. Let him rot with the spurs if that's the case.

The Latest waste of talent if it goes that way.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2014 15:46:43
Can't beleive you want the guy, over rated lump with attitude, did nothing much for Everton whose fans weren't that keen, did not a lot for Belgium and you want a Mourinho cast off.

Would love you to waste money on him like United and PSG have with Mata and Luiz but your boss won't go near him.

Think far to many people see a player, someone refers to him as the next best thing or a beast or the new Drogba when in reallity he is none of those things.

He won't be with us much longer so fill your boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

What gets me is how completely unprofessional the comments are.

He has no cause to be commenting on a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with him.

Particularly since he didn't exactly shine at this world cup except in a cameo against an already knackered US team.

I don't know maybe he's trying to endear himself to Chelsea fans as he expects to stay at Stamford bridge next season?

I hope Germany win the world cup so Ozil can send him a nice picture of his medal.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was that good chelski would keep him, ask yourselves if he isn't good enough for them why is he good enough for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great avatar Steve :-) love it

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 20:41:42
I would hardly say utd wasted 40m on Mata! Lol come on Marcellus mate mata is an excellent player and I find it somewhat sad how u quickly turn on him and scrap him simply because he left your club :-)

Im not suggesting Chelsea wanted to keep him and u made us pay top dollar for a top player, he simply didn't fit mour's tatics hence why you have gone more for the strong players this window than the skillful technical type, because it ain't your type of play! Your a 1-0 type of team ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - how come a utd fan is arguing with a chelsea fan on the arsenal page?, i dont mind visitors guys...but come on!!..

They are behaving exactly like their clubs ed25

They'll attack us, belittle us, dismiss us as little threat. but they are always keeping a sneaky eye on what we're doing ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good analysis that UG, i think they are afraid of the gooners, and i say..be afraid....be very afraid!

09 Jul 2014 21:23:03
Lol ed dnt u worry ill be ovee on the Everton page soon to have it out with a few spurs soon!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im sure the everton guys will welcome you with open arms chris.. :)

I sense your a bit agitated.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 13:41:21
eds seen this on possibly the least reliable source possible GMS, but are we in for Lukaku as competition for Giroud.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - nope

Lukaku is trash

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i seen a lot of him last season rue, and he is far from trash, not the finished article by any means, but still young and a very powerful player mate..

09 Jul 2014 23:29:34
Can't understand how some people don't see his quality Ed.

And trash?

That's ridiculous. the word is rubbish for a start!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not if your american sheeny..

My mistake guys. I meant his attitude is trash/garbage/rubbish. Pick which ever word works best for you :)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 13:35:41
Ed any truth in the runours regarding Manu getting Vidal for around 32mil? I know you have no interest in discussing money, but any chance you can confirm if a bid in that region could buy him?
Reason I'm asking is surely at that price arsenal should get involved, after pogba the next best CM available IMO.
Also are bayern still looking to sell schweinstieger, if they ever were? Another good option. Not that by me saying it arsenal go and enquire, just curious.
Thank a much

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - Juve would want a big offer for either Pogba or Vidal. I doubt Bastian will be leaving Bayern any time soon, especially with Kroos on his way to Madrid

09 Jul 2014 11:49:11
Happy Sanchez day everyone!

you know its going to happen.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Getting Sanchez, Remy and healthy Walcott back is almost like getting a new Ozil as well…look for him to shine this year. I am smelling a double addition to the trophy case this year!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 10:44:13
Right you Boys,

What's going on with all this excitement, calm down, no ones here yet and you know full well that we are looking at buying the following.

GK - Kelvin Davis absolute quality
CB - Jose Fonte total beast (know you guys love that saying)
CDM - Joey Barton a nut job like Balotelli and Saurez to keep all you crazy kids happy
ST - Jozy Altidore (scores for fun) does he?

Kind of went for the Southampton boys as there all flavour of the month at the mo.

Anyway that lot for about £657, 455 plus vat and we'll sell the likes of Santi and Podolski and factor in they won't sign till end of August, that's like 6 weeks wages saved and hey presto we'll be £75 quid up on the deal.

Absolute bargain and us set to conquer Europe, anyway I'm off to buy some shoes or do the dishes :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2014 11:44:36

09 Jul 2014 09:58:51
Don't know about you guys and girls but I would take the Spyder over either Bender or Khedira all day he is a very good player and is more of sit and hold DMF I think the German lads are a lot more adventurous when we have all the adventure we need in Rambo and Ozil what we need is not to let in 5 or more goals in multiple big games next season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me it's Kedhira > Bender > Spyder

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 09:31:38
Non-Brazil Banter.

Assuming Sanchez/Remy come in, before any other outgoings our attacking players are:

1. Giroud
2. Sanchez
3. Remy
4. Podolski
5. Santi Cazorla
6. Theo Walcott
7. Oxlaide Chamberlain
8. Serge Gnabry
9. Yaya Sanogo
10. Joel Campbell
*If we include CAMs
11. Mesut Ozil
12. Rosicky
13. [Jack Wilshere]

That is a a lot of players to fill 4 positions.

IF it is the case, what would you want wenger to do?

For me:
1. Sell one of Cazorla or Podolski (love the players, but given age and value, might be good business)
2. Loan out one of Serge or Joel. Personally, would like to see Joel in the Arsenal squad and serge go to a team like everton for gametime.

Eds/Posters. thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2014 10:03:29
I also don't think there's need for Cazorla/Podolski, still deciding on who I would rather keep. To be honest, I think I would prefer Joel over Podolski and we honestly don't need Santi when we have Ox/Rosicky to cover. We can even push Jack up to the center attacking mid if we acquired a center defensive mid like Bender or Schneiderlin to fill in Jack's role.

I would love to see Sanchez play on either flank with Joel/Walcott on the other and Giroud/Remy up top.

Giroud/Remy
Joel/Sanchez. Ozil/Ox. Wal/Sanchez
Ram/Jack Schneider/Flam

Agree0 Disagree0

If I had to choose, I think while Podolski is clearly great for team spirit, that Cazorla still has something to offer the squad. Good dribbler, good shots from distance, best cover for Ozil in No. 10 position.

For me: Giroud, Sanchez, Theo all start ahead of Podolski, and he is a pretty expensive sub (from wage perspective), would rather a young Joel given a chance and more games for Ox, Wilshere, Campbell, Serge.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have to keep them both if we can. Man City don't sell players just because they aren't starting. Joel Campbell is completely unproven in terms of the Premier League so it would be a big gamble getting rid of one of them in favour of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanogogogog is a water carrier. full stop .

He needs to be loaned out

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 14:46:27
I'm with poly. Sell no one.

We need to keep the core of our team together, and we've lacked depth for a long time.

Assuming we make a few good signings, having Podolski Cazorla Arteta Ox or maybe even Giroud on the bench would be incredible.

I understand that they will want to move on eventually not getting 1st team place that's for the following season!

We played ~60 games last year, and hopefully more this year, there's plenty to go around.

Especially when you consider our usual injury epidemic and the fact that Ozil has the stamina of a toddler.

As far as the younger lot go, Loan Ganabry, Maybe Sanogo, and as much as I would like to see Campbell in an Arsenal shirt he'll have to impress in
pre season not to be loaned out. Especially if he'll be competing with Sanchez.

All have to go to Prem clubs though. Let them plague our opposition!

Agree0 Disagree0

We should not sell anyone of note. We always cry how our squad is so thin. In order to mount a serious EPL, UEFA, FA and Capitol one challenge, we need good depth in every position

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 08:08:36
Mesut will be waking up this morning pinching himself and saying damn that was goooood! To you sir I tip cap and to the rest of ze Germans well played! Great example of team play

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2014 00:38:07
Who do you think we will get or who do you prefer? I've heard Arsenal have agreed a deal for Lars Bender and others say Schneiderlin, Plus we are in for Khedira. Personally I want to see us sign Khedira.
Any truth in the deals for a DM?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think if Bender was fit he would have played for German team ahead of Khedira. Plus he is younger and cheaper than Sami. Still both of them are great players and TBH I will be happy with any of the there players we are linked with.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd prefer either of the Germans. Think aussie is right if Bender was fit he would have been in the squad and a starter. Bender and khedira are probably the future pairing for Germany as Schweinsteiger won't go on forever.
Khedira lady night in the first 45 was awesome. Showed what he is capable of.
Both would cost 20+ mill but would prove good value for money.

Anyone els think Lukaku is worth a punt I would love to see him in a Arsenal shirt if we get Sanchez and with Ozil he would score for fun

Would much rather him than Remy, or even Balo & Benzema!

But if his twitter is anything to go by he'll not be an Arsenal player at any stage

Long time Lurker, First time Poster!

Okay, enjoying the world cup in general! Feel abit sorry for Brazil, but hey maybe they should just get better at footie. Harsh.

Im going to be simple here:

Debuchy - Is fine, not ecstatic/not upset
Khedira - never will and never have liked him, hope he doesn't come/isnt coming. Just how I feel
Schneiderlin/Lars - interested in both, but we will see, I ain't in the know so yeah.
Sanchez - potentially a great signing personally (due to world cup watching) and hoping for this. don't rate him much for barcelona though (yes I watch spanish league games)

another note: I feel sorry for ozil, he just seems. meh/so so all the time just now. But I really want him to be awesome again.

Generally I really hope Arsenal make good on signings, keep getting rid of all the flak that is clogging up wages and just being a joke!

Only thing ill sign off on is maybe Hello Eds/Everyone, questions are any clearing up on anything I've said, legitimate interest in strikers cleared up, I read up on transfer news every damn day pretty much. and anymore big signing information would be graaaand but ill live if not! :D

Anywho don't wanna spam too much, got lots to say or discuss about. but ill wait

Cheers in advance eds/everyone :)!
