Atleast youve said it before a ball was kicked mate.

Hg I think he still has a lot to offer everton for two years. Still a very good footballer and he's been wearing everton pajamas for yhe last 13 years, aaahhh.

Absolutely no idea why any Premier League side would buy that extra large jacket potato.

The guys been shot since 2012.

Only a few days ago photographed at a McDonalds drive through.

10 Jul 2017 08:30:06
A MacDonalds drive through?
Wow I've heard of players going clubbing after a defeat or even drinking the night before a game and I've even heard of players arranging secret midweek nights on the town without the clubs permission but a McDonald's drive through you say!
It's not exactly the worst thing a footballer could get up to in the close season Stoner mate :-)

He left Everton, comes back 13 years later with more hair on his head 😁.

When you're buying 15 Big Macs, 4 portions of chips 24 sweet chilli chickens wraps, 7 large cokes and 11 cream egg McFlurries it's not good.

If he got fit and didn't eat shizzle all day long he'd be an athlete but he's doesn't and he's not.

You give Wilshere stick for being similarly unprofessional but it's ok for fat boy?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2017 10:55:58
Did he really buy and eat all that himself mate? :-)
If so I agree with you 100% but if not he's just a bloke having a McDonald's which I'm sure 100s if not 1000s of footballers do and worse during the season let alone during the summer break.
I'm not Rooney's biggest fan and I wouldn't take him to the next world cup as I don't think he's ever been any good for England at a finals since Portugal 2004 but let's be sensible about it.
KfC or pizza hut I'd be with you get him on an fa charge immediately but a McDonald's? :-)

62,

I was a fan, although not a happy one when he was causing us all sorts of problems in his hay day.

Trouble is he's never looked after himself, back when he was team mates with Ronaldo you could see both having glittering careers but where Ronaldo stepped up Rooney fell back.

Ronaldo as part of his regime doesn't drink, that's just a small sacrifice, if part of Rooney's was not to eat so much junk maybe he would still be playing at a much better level. It doesn't help that he's thicker than a whale omelette though.

Thus has he simply been brought for what he can offer off the pitch more than on it?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2017 13:46:26
I'm not sure how Rooney will react to the move back to Everton mate maybe he will have one final burst of brilliance for a season or 2 or maybe he will just move straight into retirement mode and live off his past, time will tell.
I think all pros have a more professional attitude off the pitch now days long gone are the 14 pints after the game days, Ronaldo is the exception to the rule though most players don't have his attitude and dedication 24/ 7 most enjoy a drink now and then and I'm sure the odd Macy D too :-)

Hello everyone if you don't know by now i am a staunch Arsene out man, but he signed a 2yr deal, has made 2 very good buys with a possible one more to come. The Sanchez situation is really who blinks first, but i get the feeling that if Kroenke let's him Arsene will stand firm about selling to another Premiership club. Arsene knows that this is the season that we must be serious contenders for the Premiership and he knows that the first wobble he will get it big time from me and the Wenger out brigade but until that time happens and let's sincerely hope it doesn't let's get behind him and the team
Take care everyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 11:53:46
Forgive me if I am wrong here but arsenal football club, this year will generate revenues of about 350 mil or more. let's get this into perspective, players are greedy because the clubs are too and greed breeds greed. The reason we have top players demanding huge amounts for their services is because at the other end we have players on obscene money for litterally turning up and doing nothing. Its called greed and it won't get better.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

09 Jul 2017 18:52:39
And the same people who pay for their greed are the people who feed it, the fans
Ultimately all the money comes from the fans whether it's through turnstile shirt sales TV or advertising its all paid for by the same fans who demand top players at all costs.
Football is currently very lucrative business.

Movie stars earn an absolute fortune for their obvious talent and a few months work. Musicians earn an absolute fortune for their obvious talent and a few months work. To be honest I don't see too many people outside cinemas or music venues protesting over these wages, so I don't see why we should worry about what footballers earn for their obvious talent. I won't be boycotting anything, and even better, as someone from east London I love that a lot of footballers earning a fortune are not part of the privileged set, but boys from working class backgrounds, so I am more than happy for them to get the maximum from the system, as sadly, even in 2017, this doesn't happen often enough for people who go through comprehensive type education.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 22:29:01
The money is astronomical and so are players demands to suit. You are right gunner we do fund it and we all feel we can have a say because of that.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 11:02:08
If we get 80million for sanchez i would be happy. If he gets 400k a week i won't be.
He is holding this club to ransom. No player no matter how good is not worth the trouble.

This will cause others to ask for more money. It will cause dissension in the ranks, ruin the feel good factor. Lacazette is a good buy. I wouldn't say he is in sanchez territory yet but he has one factor that sanchez has not. He wants to play for arsenal.

That desire is the difference for me. I would take that desire everyday over a prima donna throwing his dummy out of his pram. Remember fabregas van persie. They were our best players but didn't want to play for us.

My advice is if sanchez doesn't want to play for arsenal, get the max funds selling him and get quality players that want to play for us.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

09 Jul 2017 11:25:42
How is he holding us to ransom. We bought him, gave him a contract that we thought he deserved. Why isn't ozil holding us to ransom, when he is quietly doibg the same. They both have a responsibility to honour their contracts after that, its up to both parties as to what happens. Because we never managed to get them to sign their cobtracts to extend. How is that holding us to ransom. Wenger ran his contract down, did he hold us to ransom. Oh wait. Lol.

Agree1 Disagree3

09 Jul 2017 12:11:30
I totally agree with steve. r - Wenger ran down his contract and then demanded over twice his current wage to stay on. How is that any different to what Sanchez is doing? Oh wait.

Agree1 Disagree3

09 Jul 2017 11:45:34
Tell me because i'm missing something. If as you put it sanchez doesn't want to play for us, why would a player of similar standard or ambition want too. Surely we are looking at the wrong fault here. We used to keep our best players and win leagues, then we started to sell them and didnt. Who or what is at fault here.

Agree0 Disagree3

09 Jul 2017 12:56:37
Season hasn't started and its wengers fault (yawn)

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 12:57:35
Spot on STEVE - Henry, Paddy, Freddie, Robbie, DB10 signed because we were winning trophies including the league.
If you aren't doing that then top players run contracts down so leave on a free and get crazy wages as a reward.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 15:04:07
Sanchez has a year left on his contract. So you are telling me you are willing to let him go for free and lose millions. i'm glad you don't do the arsenal accounts! Maybe you should do Rangers accounts!
Ozil has not made much noise i don't think he will leave. He has praised lacazette and he is heading to australia on tour. He will get a pay rise but nothing like sanchez.
The difference between wenger and sanchez is that wenger honours his contract. We won't lose 80million if he goes. lol
Sanchez is a quality player no doubt but he will cause more trouble for arsenal in the long term. Believe me i want him to stay but not at the expense of the clubs long term future. He knows he is the best player at club that is why he and his agent are holding us to ransom with crazy wage demands.
Me personally i wanted wenger to go last year. He made bad decisions and has let star players like ozil sanchez ox contracts run down to their last year. But i think he has smelt the coffee and is willing to spend and show ambition. Players like lacazette are willing to come here this club has ambition its the start of a new season don't be so pessimistic. Arsenal will still be here after sanchez and co.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 15:12:41
How do you know what other players think Steve That might not be the case, it's money at the end of the day if someone offered me triple my wages for doing a job I would hate to do I'd take it for more money, money talks fella.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 15:56:40
Every single player and manager for that matter has a contract for a term. When you sign a player or a manager you sign him to do a job for a term. If all goes well that player stays and signs another contract and so does a manager. If not that player and it applies to all players leave and go elsewhere, a manager gets sacked with a big pay off. A football players contract is not the same as ours and everyone knows that when they sign. Arsenal football club signed sanchez on a four year deal, why not longer and why not shorter. I don't agree about ozil, I think he is playing the same game. he's very quiet and is not jumping at signing his contract.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 16:29:56
Ozil was always professional. His just seems like a haggle for hire wages. He never threw his gloves at the pitch or shouted at his teammates or laughed at his teammates when from the bench.
Sanchez wants out, I don't know why Arsenal fans are still attached to the guy when he clearly doesn't want to be a gooner.
These are the same rose coloured glasses used on Wilshere who clearly won't ever cut it.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 17:04:34
I don't care if he stays or goes to be honest, he wants more money give it to him if he just wants out show him the door but don't sell cheap, as long as we buy a replacement and not slag him off b4 he's played a game, and people slating Wenger about Sanchezs contract just hate Wenger it's the club not Wenger like someone pointed out today the season hasn't started yet and it's already wengers fault! Get bhind the team and players and get over it.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 17:22:17
254 its called passion and that's not a bad thing, ozil doesn't show it. A lot of top sports people are passionate to an extreme, it makes them what they are. He goes out and performs, he can spit his dummy out and stamp his feet all he wants as long as he performs like he does. I don't want an underperforming angel. John mac enroe has just sprung to mind, he did it because he hated losing. Give me people like that any day of the week.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 17:28:15
254 what is ozil waiting for then. He is 5 months away from being able to talk to other clubs, why. Does he want to wait because he wants to be the highest earner, what's stopping him, not much as far as I can see. Its all cutting a bit fine. I think he's like the quiet assassin, he know what he is doing but we dont.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 17:29:52
Is a top player with top options more or less likely to choose Chelsea or Arsenal if they wanted to come to England?
Chelsea 99/ 100 and it's those 1 in 100 players we need to worry about not the other 99.
We all know our reputation isn't all it was and we all know we are not the draw for players we once were and we all know that very very few people outside some Arsenal fans will consider us realistic title contenders for next season so let's look at who we can get and what we can achieve.
Top 4 is possible even though it will be very difficult and the Europa league is possible too and how long since we won s European trophy?
Arsene is going to see out his contract whether your jumping with excitement over it or think it's a mistake, it is what it is let's just enjoy what we can and accept what we can't enjoy because it ain't changing anytime soon :-)

09 Jul 2017 17:29:54
Sharpey wenger ran down his contract to get what he wanted.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2017 19:23:07
Steve - last time I looked a player has an acquisition cost. That's a big difference and if you remove that by running down a contract then you move that to wage negotiations.
A manager cannot do that and I am sure Wenger didn't get a 300% wage increase like Sanchez is after.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 19:28:12
Maybe Sanchez is doing the same maybe he wants more money not a move away.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 20:03:42
To replace Sanchez = 100m

Replacement wages if cost 100m = 350k per week

So 5 year contract = 100m plus 350k *52 * 5 years

Get that number and divide by 5 years then 52 weeks = what their agent will think we should pay in weekly wage as that's his replacement cost without the same risk.

Does 400k seem so crazy?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2017 00:42:52
Sy 400,000 is crazy, its all crazy. Debauchery on 80,000 is even crazier.

We talk a lot about new players - what about exits?

I really want Giroud to stay as a front two of him and Lacazette will be great against certain sides. I would have liked Sanchez and Lacazette also but settle for Mbappe and Lacazette!

I don't get excited about either Danny or Theo up front with Lacazette as a front two or Perez and Lacazette. yet I hear a lot about Giroud leaving. He's the one I want to keep!

Reading that Arsenal would be willing to sell
Sanchez to City for 80 million. Now I understand that's a rumour but at the end of the day Arsenal seem to be getting it.
He's one of the Premier Leagues best players so looking around at what some of the players have been sold for I would say
80 million is a good starting point although I would rather him go abroad. But probably Arsenal have slapped this price tag on him to put off potential buyers. What do you say Ed? .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - there is no good price for selling your best player when you are looking to improve, unless you have a potentially better player waiting to take his place. Otherwise, you are not doing anything bar going backwards.}

09 Jul 2017 07:43:55
Can't argue with that. That's why I said ages ago are we
replacing or improving? . I'm being a bit flippant there as you probably well know and I agree with you there is no good price for selling your best player. This is why I say we riode our luck last season. and it's come round to bite us .
It was quite rightly said it's like "trying to bolt the stable door after the horse has bolted".

I think it's possible to lose your best player and use the money to make your team better, I'm not saying that's what will happen at Arsenal but it has and can be done else where so if is possible for us too.

Sanchez is a great player - was he a winger or a striker?

I wish he would stay and partner Lacazette but he won't plus I don't think he holds his position enough.

We can improve and getting 80m gives us the resource to help improve.

We just got to get the players in and the right players to match our strategy

Lemar, Mbappe and Lacazette in = improvement even with no Sanchez

Lacazette only = improved goal scoring but a step backwards if Sanchez leaves.

Some good points SY4.
But if Sanchez stays is it to play for Arsenal or for the money.
He is one player, Arsene, the club, the fans made him from a Barcelona bench warmer to the player he is.
He wants to leave. I think we have three options
1 Sell him for as much as we can
2 Pay him the crazy amount
3 Run his contract down on the bench
For me option 3
If we pay him, every players agent will be knocking the door down.
Do we all really think he is worth it £400k it takes me years to earn that, not weeks or months, YEARS
We are a team, the best team wins the league.
Some will say selling your best players will weaken the team, yes, I agree, but I think he wants to go, So sell him and buy this Lemar (i know very little about him but a few of you he seem to like him)

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 10:08:39
Sanchez for me has been our best post invincibles signing and it will be a shame to see him leave but it's almost certain he will leave.
Did Utd want to lose Ranaldo to Real? Absolutely not but they did and just carried on winning things without him and for all Sanchez fantastic qualities he isn't Ranaldo.
It's not about what happens it's about how you react to what happens that decides whether you go to bits or from also rans to contenders.
Just my view but if he goes don't get angry get better without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 10:42:04
62 - that's been my point all along as I think if we react right, we can be a stronger team. If you take Sanchez's desire away as he falls out of love with AFC - what you got. He's a heart on your sleeve guy and I don't want a watered down Sanchez.
Take the 80m and invest well.
Shame really as will miss his energy, pace and special qualities.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 11:38:42
Selling your best players is not a show of strength, its a weakness. Especially to a rival. If we do it we will get what we deserve. The same way as, if you keep doing the same things, you get the same results. Ambitous clubs do not sell their best players, the keep them and add to them. Have we ever replaced vierra, no, have we ever replaced adams, no, have we ever replaced cole no. Did we benefit from selling rvp to man u, no. You don't let your best players go, unless you don't want to win anything. Sanchez was an 8 or 9 out of 10 last season, nearly every game. The nearest player to him over the sesson was probably a 6. I don't see how anyone can advocate selling your best player and keep your average players, unless you want average results. Sanchezs position and ozils come to that ( our second best player ) are down to the manager and the club. Disgraceful.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2017 11:38:51
Ultimately lads it's all about Arsenal for us and we shouldn't get preoccupied with any one player or any one opponent.
If Sanchez makes City of whoever stronger then that will hurt Chelsea Utd Liverpool Spurs and the other 19 premier league teams just as much as it will us.
Let everyone else worry about themselves and we should do exactly the same.
