Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

In 2013 after the fa cup win over Hull the club gave and Arsene accepted a new 3 year contract, to myself and others this looked like yet another 3 years of delaying Arsenal moving forward but we could have been wrong and the club and Aresene proved right, sadly it's all turned out badly for everyone who cares about Arsenal as the club and Arsenal have been proven wrong beyond question.
Back in May 2013 we'd already gone 4 consecutive seasons where our champions league and premier league seasons had ended in February and the only thing that's different 3 years on is that sequence of failure has increased from 4 to 7 seasons of under achievement in the two big competitions.
Its very easy to look back and be wise but now surely is the time to change that habit and do what's best for everyone right now before things get any worse.
If the club and Arsene were to announce this season will be Arsenes last as Arsenal manager right now it would instantly end the need for the Media to look for any possible reason to cash in on our problems, no more demonstrations or banners needed and if some players are giving less than they are capable of for whatever reason that reason would be null and void, we could all turn the rest of the season into a huge celebration of all Arsene has done for the club in the past regardless of all and any results between now and May.
All the club and Arsene are doing by dragging out the decision/ announcement is making his final season end in the worse way possible rather than have a heroes send off that would be 100% supported not just by everyone at Arsenal but by the whole of English football.
I think even Spurs fans would join in the respectful send off during Arsenes final NLD apposed to turning it into a mocking 90 minute of mocking by chanting for Arsene to get a new contract throughout the game.
I just can't see what's to be gained by delaying things for anyone.

Totally agree. Then it will be a test to see what the board is made of given it mainly comprises business men with little or no footballing knowledge.

Gunner, you know I agree, it makes me sad what is going on, its damaging to the club and the longer it goes on the more damage is being done and the harder it will be for a recovery.

As all above have said great post for me spoken from the heart.
Lincs very true, Maybe we need to protest against the board, not our greatest ever manager.

Bit of a damp squid, the massive protest. Only 200.out of 55k.
Their must have been a rush for the pies,
Someone commented to me the other night, He calls the Wenger out boys, SID, (spuds in disguise)
I did make me laugh.

This once great club is being dismantled and made a laughing stock by the narcisist in charge. I want my arsenal back, its a sorry situation this club has been put into. can't wait for the day this nightmare will end.

It's squib lol. But I'm not for protests they never help. And if Wenger actually paid it any mind he will be thinking 200 out of 55k they must love me where do I sign lol.

Steve put your 500 million in, if you don't have that remember your a very very small cog in a big chain, and you (sids) are not helping.
We all won't better, protest against the board, not the manager.
He loves this club. like You and I
I believe the board are not Arsenal fans and would leave if a bigger better offer or club came up, But Wenger has stayed loyal, not like a few fans that like their 15 minuites of fame, outside the ground.
Just what the press wanted a few loud mouthed thugs chantting.

I've let the dust settle before posting so here goes.

10-fu**ing 2? Seriously?

What's happening at Arsenal?!

Some points I've been thinking of since the defeat;

1. No plans for the next manager - Guardiola, Koeman, Enrique, Zidane, Simeone, Allegri or Tuschel all have the capability to manage Arsenal in my opinion, but there never seems to be any news apart from "Wenger offered 2 year deal. " Seriously? Start to make future plans.

2. Contracts - the amount of players left to dry until the final 18 months - 12 months of their contracts is unreal! Why don't we tie them down early on so this doesn't happen?! Even players like Gibbs, we could get a decent fee if he had a longer deal, but I've heard he's in his last 18 months now so will leave on the cheap, as will many more I imagine.

3. Wages - this one ties in quite well with contracts, the amount of wage some of the fringe players are on is unreal! Players like Jenkinson on first team wages when he can't get into the first 18, then not being able to give sanchez 250k to keep him, or players who deserve a wage increase one.

4. Youth - do we ever produce our own talent any more? Apart from Iwobi, wilshere and Coq who have we produced ourselves in the past 10 years or so? We are meant to be THE team for bringing youth through, yet we have to buy from other team, and then they never seem to find the potential, through injury or lack of chance.

5. Development - do we ever actually challenge? I don't think so, we seem to set the world on fire for 3 months, never rotate, get players into the 'red zone' and then BOOM! Ramsey, Koscielny, Welbeck, Wilshere, Walcott, Oxlade and Cazorla all with injures at the same time. And even if the injuries didn't occur, do we have the mental strength to push on and win the title? Not in my opinion.

6. Injuries - coming from the last point, we never seem to get over our injury crisis, and never plan for it, which is weird considering it happens annually. I don't know if it's bad practice, bad treatment or weather we like signing players that genuinely are made from Weetabix. Wilshere leaves on loan, hardly gets injured all season so far.

Sorry about the Gloomy post sports fans, but something is seriously wrong with the club, I'll give them credit where it's due, we are so stable that I am very proud to say that there is no chance that we will ever do a Leeds or Rangers, our brand is so strong thanks to Wenger that I'm proud to be a Gunner (even after that rant. ) He's a legend and will never be forgotten, however I do think it's time to move on. Ideally this summer.

So Gunners,

I've let the dust settle before posting but I'm just as annoyed as I was.

What's going on at Arsenal? We just can't get there can we, we spend money on world class talent, and can't get the best out of them, we still have no plan B, it's Wengers way or the highway, and Wengers way gets us destroyed far to often these days.

There seems to be no plan with future management, the amount of managers that have been good enough to manage Arsenal that we players still being left in the final 18-12 months of their contracts before trying to get them to sign,

I agree with most of what your saying, but I think the club has tried to sign them up, offers have been on the table. But their heads have be turned with the mega money that's about.
Sanchez wants to go, only or money (in my mind )

That's a good point, WG.

We seem to be right in the middle of being a rich club and a world class club, we can't offer more than clubs like China or Russia and can't compete with the Barcelona or Bayern.

V Bayern.
With Kos, played 103 mins, won 2-1.
Without Kos, played 85 mins, lost 9-0.

It proves it is extremely difficult to go down to 10 men against Bayern. However, any tactician other than Wenger, against top opponents. would play two deep banks of 4, with one lone forward, in order to keep the score down. This denies the opposition the space to get in behind and score.

Tuesday night was just an extention of the first leg where we capitulated like a pack of card as well. We can dress it all up whatever way we want but we got hammered and embarrassed again, especially when it mattered.

When we moved from Highbury to where we are now and the club were hell bent on paying for the stadium something had to suffer. If we all remember rightly there was always a minimal amount available to buy new players due to having to pay for the new stadium etc etc. It has now caught up to us. Yes we got a beautiful stadium but we have nothing in the middle.

The saying " All fur coat and no knickers" comes to mind. Think about it!
