Harry Kane has claimed Alonso's goal as his own, under the new rule, goals scored in the same city, within 13 minutes of each other, both go to player scoring first.

R. G. Its the raver coming through in his famous Subaru, what a fantastic night with spurs getting champions league football again at the spurnabau and you lot getting smashed yet again. I'm off to get absolutely smashed on Chelsea's old kit sponsor Coors in a seedy west London club beep.

steve,

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris said qualifying for the Champions League next season "means more than a trophy" after Spurs beat Newcastle at Wembley to confirm their top-four place.

So apparently they have won a trophy mate. The ā€œMeans more Trophyā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚.

Dags, its defence, defending, its the lack of nous, its something that we all hope gets sorted. You can't win in europe, you can't win in the league and you can't win away from home until you learn to stop letting in goals. It's something that is fundamental and ignored but the new guy at least will know where to start.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 May 2018 23:18:28

{Ed002's Note - I don't know, but perhaps initially just Landucci and Folletti and then he or she can assess what is needed?}

I'm jumping not only a gun but a cannon but if we appoint Allegri was interested to know in what order you would rank the top six managers! So 1-6 rank Pep Klopp Poch Conte Moanio and Allegri either in ability or who you would want at the Arsenal COYG.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 May 2018 15:02:23
In my humble opinion:
1.pep guardiola
2.jurgen klopp
3.max allegri
4.mourinho
5.conte
6.pochettino.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 15:08:58
Pep, klopp, simeone, benitez, allegri, ancelloti. All proven in their jobs and all top coaches. I don't want a rookie at all but that doesn't mean to say a rookie couldn't come in and improve us, we just don't need to start with uncertainty. A rookie as their second in command but not no1.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 17:11:34
Klopp, pep, poch, mourinho this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 19:05:35
If we are talking about Arsenal compatible Klopp Poch because of what they've achieved in a short space of time with a limited budget and clubs that were way behind us when they took over plus premier league proven.
Pep is great but without inheriting an already successful team or no humongous budget? I'm not sure how he would do, but if he was available I'd take the chance.
In order
Klopp
Poch
Pep
Allgeri
Ancelotti
Dyche
No way Jose for many reasons and top one his his unnecessary uncalled for disrespectful comments about Arsene even when we weren't playing utd or Chelsea that week.

09 May 2018 19:37:25
Gunner, i don't want maureen because i think he is the new wenger, he is getting behind in his tactics. He won't win the league with utd while the prem has good young mangers in it. He is the new dinosaur and i hope he stays at utd for a few years hence. He can still winbthe lesser comps/ cups.

In his day Jose was funny and could inspire people to achieve and become more than they ever thought possible but he returned to our shores a poor imitation of the man who left.

Pep - no as we donā€™t have enough Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£s

The more I seem to look into Enrique the more I'm concerned that we're considering him. Am I wrong on this but roma and celta he didn't set the world alight. And I seem to remember Ed001 saying he wasn't hugely popular at Barcelona with the fans.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 May 2018 12:58:41
I'm working away for a couple of days and this morning at breakfast i was speaking to an Italian Juventius fan who said we are welcome to Allgeri as he is sick of Juve always playing counter attacking football.
Strangely enough he said he would be happy to swap Arsene for Allgeri.
Sounds fair to me as both teams get more of what they currently lack and less of what they do to much of.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 15:08:50
D16,i wholeheartedly agree with you. enrique is a decent but not pep guardiola level. He won't set the world alight in terms of tactics but he doesn't take rubbish from players. He had problems with totti at roma and even with messi at barca. He is hostile to the press too. I don't think he would suit arsenal at all.

Gunner mate, i do have the same problem with allegri. He is too defensive and pragmatic for me but no doubt he is a very tactical coach and he took juventus to two champions league finals i don't know what more he could have done with that ageing squad. I wouldn't mind if he came to us so long as he won titles.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 15:17:12
D it doesn't matter who you manage/ coach, if you have won what he has won, it must be respected that he can, given the tools actually deliver. That can't be said of every modern top coach. He obviously understands the ingredients to win. There are some exciting top coaches in this world who never win, just make teams exciting but don't get them ver the line. Until they do, there has to be a reason or flaw.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 18:13:48
Punani can you please tell me how someone can be too pragmatic in football? It must be one of the best possible attributes for a manager when values are not set at a constant. Could understand it if he were a chemist lol. Football is not an exact science. We have spent a lot of years with a manager who never makes a sub until the 70th minute and then itā€™s ususlly like for like. Itā€™s not as if heā€™s a total tinker man.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 23:05:28
okay maybe i used the wrong meaning of pragmatic there sanogo. i mean a coach who is negative in his footballing philosophy. I can understand if a coach wants to sit back against a team that has more quality but a coach who wants to sit back against a team that has inferior quality that is what i find boring and allegri is like that at times.

I watch a lot of serie a football and i was shocked at how juventus would sit back against teams like roma and napoli while playing at home! why do that when you have the better team? and that is the issue some juventus fans have with allegri. They are like why is he that negative?

Sanogo football is an exact science to some coaches like guardiola and that is the difference between guardiola and wenger. with guardiola for example, he implements positional play. Not more than two players can be at the same vertical line at one point and not more than three players can be in the same horizontal line. There is discipline and organisation to how a team defends and attacks in a guardiola team.

This is done to keep the ball and disorient the oppossition. Wenger hitting a low at arsenal is not failure of attacking football because guardiola and klopp, known advocates of attacking football, have reached far this season. It is just that wenger's attacking football is chaotic and has no order to it. Guardiola's positional play and klopp's gegen pressing are just advanced and refined methods of wenger. Would you believe if i told you that all this attacking coaches; guardiola, klopp, nagelsmann etc have all being inspired by wenger?

Greetings Eds and fellow gooners. I have a feeling that Ozil will be an Arsenal player next season, if the manager inspires him to stay that is!
But our best team should see Auba, Lacca and Mikhi ALL play WITH Ozil, we are overloaded with CAM converted to CDM- Wilshere, Rambo, even Caz when he got injured. So maybe do we see a change in formation irrespective of the new manager? 4-4-2 maybe on the cards if we get that one CDM that fits the bill. The way we are lining up since January is more of 4-3-3 with one of the front three roaming. Also do you guys think that one (two? ) of wilshere, xhaka, elneny, ramsey, cazorla, Ainsley, wilock should be sold? And who do you guys want to keep?
#COYG.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles must be kept 100% and be given more game time too for that matter. Brilliant little player and if he impresses the new boss, he'll be on that team sheet without a doubt! His preferred position is CM so keep him in a middle 3 with Wilshere and and new CDM.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 May 2018 12:28:02
No doubt the manager that comes in will redress the imbalance between defensive and attacking midfield players.
DM: Maitland-Niles, Elneny and Xhaka.
AM: Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi and Cazorla.

I would release, sell or loan: Cazorla, Iwobi and Ozil.

Bring in a tall, athletic box to box DM and a wide attacking midfield player.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2018 14:21:23
Ive got a feeling we will massively regret letting Ozil go, if he does. I don't think he has ever really suited 'Wenger' football, but if the next man can get him back to his best, he will be such a valuable asset. His goals and assists from Real Madrid are mightily impressive, we need that Ozil to come back to form. Form a strong midfield behind him and let him flourish.

Morning ed01,

I was wondering if youā€™d give last nights game much of a mention, itā€™s only really because Iā€™ve watched Southamptonā€™s last few games and I wanted to ask if you knew much about their keeper Alex McCarthy.

He has looked so impressive, commands his box, punches, catches and makes some great saves.

Appreciating it was only a few games but he looks like a great keeper but yet has only been at smaller clubs and was originally back up to Forster.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I never do stuff on results because they are everywhere. McCarthy has been a big step up from Forster, if he had played a few more games I am convinced they would not have been in the relegation battle. He is far from top class, but he is a decent Prem keeper, just lacks that bit of something special to make him a top 4 keeper. I would term him solid, rather than spectacular.}

09 May 2018 08:10:44
I think you are spot on with that ed001!
