Well done Ireland

Ramsey was terrible again.

Bad news Wales and British football personally I would have liked to have seen all 4 home nations qualify plus the republic of Ireland as I think it adds excitement and interest to a tournament.

But from an Arsenal point of view I think we will get more from Aaron without the world cup on his mind as 2 seasons ago I felt he was thinking of Euro 2016 more than playing for Arsenal once Wales had qualified.

Aaron for my money plays for Aaron I'm not sure it's a deliberate thing bit he seems to have this inbuilt wanting to be the star of the show, scoring rather than creating goals and scoring spectacular goals rather than simple ones.
The lad got a lot of stick a few years back and his self confidence and determination to succeed got him through that but unfortunately his actual ability isn't at the same level as his self confidence makes him believe.

He's a decent premier league player no more no less but I think he might well disagree with that :-)

It really baffles me how Ramsey had that season where he was one of the top scorers in the league out of nowhere and now he doesn’t even look like scoring a fraction of that.

Bit disappointed with Wales last night, looks like i’ll be getting behind you English this world cup.

It's a shame Wales and Scotland didn't make it, perfect mate Euro 2014 was brilliant because there were so many home nations involved, obviously I'm counting England actually getting off the plane and sticking around for a couple of weeks as being involved :-) but both Wales and Ireland did the UK proud both on and off the pitch.

Its funny gunner, i'm like you, i want the home nations to do well but obviously not at the expense of us. I don't know many scots welsh or irish who want us to though, its usually the opposite.

I think it's England's superiority attitude of the past that's lead to much of that Steve mate, although England have been the most successful British team that's not much to brag about in world football terns is it Steve mate.
I liken England to Arsenal in many ways, capable of so much more than we deliver while Scotland are like Leeds big underachivers given history and resources, Wales like Norwich have great potential but despite always flirting with realising it but it very seldom comes off, Northern Ireland like Southampton who quite often punch above their weight and the republic of Ireland remind me of Wimbledon of old, always a handful despite limited resources.

Mustafi injured playing for Germany, having played the full 90 minutes in 3 matches within 6 days, which confirmed concerns about selling Gabriel without signing a replacement. Thigh strains can take time to heal and with Chambers and Koscielny ct=rrently injured it is worrying, hopefully they will be fit after the International break, if not we are down to 3 fit CB's in Mertesacker, Holding and Monreal, who also provides cover for Kolasinac. With 19 matches, plus internationals and possible further League Cup ties before the transfer window opens in January It is extremely worrying.

No one wants injuries but every team gets them, one man's absence is another man's opportunity.
All our players earn super money for what exactly? To play football for Arsenal football club.
It's all about how you approach it I guess if you go into a game talking about how difficult it's going to be without such and such a player the teams expectation of themselves subconsciously but naturally drops but if you talk about the next game being a real opportunity for the team to roll up their sleeves and build on the reputation repair that they began at Chelsea and show everyone that when the going gets tough they no longer for a hiding place but meet the challenge head on regardless of injuries.
Fa cup final? No Kos no Mustafi but still beat the runway champions of English football.

Raver61, that guarantees one thing, the trophyless toot players, will become trophy less international players. 1961.1966 - The pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on.

Raver66 - please remind us What trophy is won for getting out of a CL group?

What have the toot and england got in common? Over 50 years of trophyless failure. The pain at Wembley and the lane just goes on 1961 and 1966

World Cup winners at Arsenal 3 - Toot 0.

Yeah you rely to that don’t you, but you refuse to reply to the questions which keeps being asked about your pathetic clubs failire to win a trophy of any kind. Keep picking your own arguments.

Current team raver61! 3-0
School trip to Spain presumably.
Go on raver61 list all the trophies won by the Toot on your lifetime.

Absolutely Gooner Jim, it's amusing how Raver61 fails to ever answer the question about how many trophies the toot have won in his lifetime? For the record, the last trophy they won was the League cup in 2007-08, so nearly a decade ago. The FA Cup in 1991, over quarter of a century ago and the League in 1961, yes 1961, over 56 years ago. I can only assume that Raver61 was only able to recall winning the League Cup. Even the European success was in the early 80's, approaching 4 decades ago! He is as embarrassing as his twin Sanago. At least Sanogo supports a winning team.

Cannot believe we were happy to let Giroud go in the summer

That would have been crazy & left us no plan B

"I had the opportunity to leave. I was very close to another English club, Everton. But I think I made the best choice."

Lunacy

Now Mustafi is injured. Not happy

To be fair we don't know if he had left that Arsene wouldn't have brought in a replacement for him, he was also prepared to let Mustafi go if he'd got a replacement but maybe he was working on the philosophy that he couldn't afford to have 2 more players reluctantly staying to add to Ozil and Sanchez.
He obviously felt he needed to keep Sanchez at all cost and nobody was interested in buying Mesut to my knowledge so maybe he figured Olly had to want to stay or go if he wasn't commited and prepared to knuckle down as second choice behind Lacazette.
Keeping an unhappy Sanchez was a gamble so I guess he was trying to minimise the risk of negativity spreading through the training ground and dressing room.
Olly is a brilliant plan B I'm glad he stayed but I do think it right to make it his choice to do so.

Yes SY4, some extremely odd goings on, with reports of us willing to sell or selling: Gabriel, Giroud, Mustafi, Elneny. Oxlade and Gibbs. Whilst only signing 2 players. Mustafi's injury leaves us short of CB options. Whilst Giroud gives us options that would weaken us if he had departed.
