Just like to say that we are still very much in the running for the premiership title. This was Mikel and the boys first punt at the CL so quarter final ain't shabby and we went out to the better team on the night.
Also even though Pep won 2 Champions league titles with Barca, probably with a squad that is up their with the all time greats, he didn't manage to win it in 3 seasons at Bayern who also had a great squad and it took him 5 goes till he won it at City which goes to show how hard it is to win it. Just seen that City have been knocked out on penalties which I didn't want for selfish reasons has I wanted City to have a heavy fixture list.
So I not going to be a pundit and state the bleeding obvious and say we need to win our remaining games and City and Liverpool slip up but we are capable of winning our last 6 games and putting pressure on the other 2.
COYG ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️.

I think the lads look a bit burnt out the last few games no matter what we can be proud of the football they have played this season.

We will only get better add a bit of depth to the squad and we will be seriously competitive next season on all fronts.

City game at pens as I write this lest hope they make it to the final and get beat by Dortmund

Lol thy have missed 2 pens as I wright.

Gave it a good go but was always going to be a tough ask. Sometimes you just have to take the loss and move on.

Hi guy’s

This is still a very young team. First time in the cl and we reach the quarterfinals

Ten years ago we would of gotten beaten 9-1

I for one am proud of the boys

You ok 14?

 1

{Ed014's Note - very proud mate, all steps in their learning curve and the boys will only get better.

All good thanks mate

In case of Arsenal that's always the case. Take the loss and move on cause this club can't win anything. At the end of the day we are at least competing and that is the only thing we can take. But year after year bottling it whenever it matters is not good enough.

 0

{Ed014's Note - don’t agree with the bottling part mate but each to their own.

We have been outdone tactically a few times recently. Teams are happy making center compact and they are coming up with ways to diffuse our press as well. On the ball we're lacking cutting edge. Still all to play for in the league and it should be clear where we need to improve for next season.

17 Apr 2024 22:21:09
Tonight showed the depth of our squads needs improving.
Switched over to see City being able to bring on Doku and Alvarez for Grealish and Haaland.

No sparky we did not give it a good go it was such a flat performance we defended quite well but created nothing!

Are we still 4th place and CL last 16 happy? Clearly not any more

Are we doing all we can to be the best we can possibly be? I'd say yes we clearly we are

Has this team peaked yet? Personally I don't think it has.

Disappointed to go out but extremely happy with how far much the team and club have progressed in the last couple of seasons.

Up The Arsenal, I've no complaints whatsoever 👍👍👍👍.

If any everyone who doesn't fulfil your wishes is a bottler then your life must be absolutely full of disappointment at everyone but yourself.

Makes you think doesn't it?

No need for psychoanalysis gunner62 mate. Competing for the title for 2 years in a row is not bad. Certainly better then not playing Champions league or finishing 7th or 8th in the league. But losing whenever the pressure is on to finish the job is a definition of bottling it whether you like it or not.

I doubt we bottled anything in the champions league. Bayern maybe they are having a bad season but they are experienced more then enough to know how to deal with this type of pressure. Same as Madrid mate.
They lads they lack the CL experience and now they got it.
As for the league I don't believe we are out of it just yet. So no need to cry and talk down the team no the manager just yet.

Not sure why this "Bottlers" tag is aimed at Arsenal? Getting beat by City for the league last year hurt like hell but it wasnt "Bottling" That is what happens when you come up against a side who have a Sub bench that would be most teams 1st team. Our team ran out of puff towards the end of the season as we simply don't have the squad to bring £100m players off of the bench, We don't have that luxury, we stuck to the FFP for the last 15 years unlike others.

If you honestly think we should be able to go into the Champions League 1/ 4 finals and blow teams away you need a reality check or maybe Arsenal Football Club isn't for you

COYG.

{Ed014's Note - it’s a crazy tag from our own supporters, I expect from the other fans.

My assumption must be that Liverpool must be bottlers for not beating City to more titles and City must be bottlers for losing last night.

Maybe Burnley are bottlers for getting relegated.

There is so much to be positive about!

But hey if it allows him to cope with a loss that’s his way. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Just like to say hope you all enjoy the match tonight.

Hubby is using my phone to watch City so I won't be joining livechat but I hope we get the result that would send our happiness into the stratosphere! ⚽️ 🥅.

We can be extremely confident that both mangers and set's of players will be giving it everything they have to give to be in the semi final after tonight's game. We all have days and periods where we are at our absolute best everything just fall's into place for use we've ease and we all have days and times when no matter how hard we try we just can't
seem to achieve what we desperately want to achieve at that time.

I have no clue how tonight's game will go but whatever happens I'm happy to accept everyone will have given the best they had to give on the night, win or lose. Up The Arsenal before during and after the tonight's game no matter what happens 👍👍👍👍👍.

I agree with Wrighty when he called out fans streaming out of the Emirates after we conceded against Villa. Do these fans only support our club when we are winning?
After our brilliant season this seems totally disrespectful.

I've always admired fans of who sing even louder when their team falls behind in an attempt to lift the players, now if ever fans had any influence on a result surely it then. Sing when your losing, that's making yourself part of the solution rather than simply moaning about the problem.

16 Apr 2024 13:43:26
I think some fans do lose faith quite quickly.
But having been to the Emirates often it is not the best place to get out from. I always if I am on my own leave between 5 to 10 minutes early as I live almost 65 miles away and if you are going to Arsenal or Finsbury Park station it is a nightmare and approaching my 68th birthday I would rather keep my journey to about 2hrs rather than 3.
There are fans who Jack it at the slightest problem but I would have left 5 to 10 minutes early Sunday irrespective of the score line.

We had a bad day at the office

We are still in with a shout

Last season we only had domestic cups to worry about. This season we are in the cl quarter final and have a big chance of reaching the semi final

All this talk of us bottling is nonsense

I for one am proud to be a gooner.

15 Apr 2024 12:25:30
We are in an amazing position just 2 points off 1st place and a very real chance of being in Champions league semi final, we should be so awful every season.

In some people's eyes if we get to the Champions league final and don't win we will be bottlers just for not winning, that's a crazy way of looking at the world.

Agree and hope we are right. The proof in the pudding will now be how the team reacts to this defeat. I am hoping we bounce back stronger than ever. Wolverhampton away will be a tricky fixture. Time for the team and manager to show what they are made of. I am sure they will. Come on You Gunners let's get behind our team and stay positive. I have said this many times for me winning the league is does require some luck and the ultimate champoions have that. Top 4 finish is a must and about the ability of the team. I have had another enjoyabe season and can't wait to see who we bring in during the summer.

Hi G4 personally I think we have stay rational and reasonable going into and after Wednesdays game, there is no reason we should beat Bayern and be in the semi finals but equally there is no reason we shouldn't, it's very much 50/ 50 and only 1 team can progress beyond Wednesday. If we fool ourselves into thinking we should be in SF or we have a right to be in the SF are the players guilty because they couldn't make our thoughts and expectations happen or are we guilty for having unrealistic expectations that we should be in the SF because we are Arsenal?

I know the manager and players want that SF place every bit as much as we all want it and i alsi know they awant to be premier champions every bit as much as we want them to be premier league champions, I also know they wanted to beat villa yesterday every bit as much as we wanted them to be villa.

If we are all honest and realistic with ourselves going into Wednesday it will help us all be able to handle whatever comes with dignified acceptance rather than irrational feelings about the players.

100% agree 62. There are so many good teams out there and we are one of them!

16 Apr 2024 13:04:44
Absolutely Sally. Both mangers both sets of players and fans all have the right to feel they CAN win tomorrow night but neither has the right to DEMAND their must be ALLOWED to win. The real world doesn't work like that.

Morning everyone.
Been looking at the run ins and tbh none of the 3 teams have easy run ins.
Liverpool now have 3 away games on the bounce.
City have 2 away games on the bounce.
By the time City play away at Brighton on Thursday week we would have played Wolves away and Chelsea at home so possibly could be 4pts clear but played 2 games more.
The big thing is how do we respond after yesterday and it's the response that tells us if we got what it takes to bring the trophies home.
Lot of the pundits, fans of other clubs and I have to say some Goobers are already saying it's like last season all over again, where it has to be said we didn't cope with the pressure.
Has I previously said about City's and Liverpool it's far from over, but we have extremely hard fixtures ourselves.
It's how we respond after yesterday that will answer the questions that people have about our squad.
Yes they are a young team but they are an experienced team who have played in Europe and World Cups for their respective countries.
So let's see how we respond on Wednesday, it's the sign off all great teams that they respond after a setback.
Was I down yesterday, yes I was
Was I pissed off yesterday, absolutely 100%.
Have I giving up the ghost, NO WAY PEDRO.
COYG❤❤❤❤.
