R. G. I'm cruising in the Subaru in my Hugo boss shell suit and my curly hair and moustache in prime condition heading for Stringfellows with the beetles on full blast on the sound system after another emphatic win over Liverpool to put us joint second. We look in total pain at the moment after bossing Madrid in midweek and making Liverpool look poor beep.

 3 7

22 Oct 2017 20:01:20
Raver, when you say joint second, you mean third mate.

 5 0

22 Oct 2017 20:26:51
If you say bossing Madrid was this after you went high? good one for you today though. I do agree it was a commanding performance.

22 Oct 2017 20:28:23
Raver61 - and the trophy you are celebrating for being 3rd is? 8 year old Gordon Strachan with a carrot under under his elongated hooter, in the back of his mummies rusty Subaru in the parking pace in front of their Edmonton 1 bed council flat. The pain at the lane just goes on, 196, yes 1961 for trophyless toot.

As per usual you and Harry have got over your slow start to a new season Raver Wembley or no Wembley, you seen to always come out of the blocks slowly but once you hit your stride you take some knocking out of it mate.
I thought before a ball was kicked you would run this season's champions even closer this season than the last two seasons, long way to go but united although far from out of it seem to be finding the current pace a little to quick for them and I can see you being the side to push City during the closing weeks of this season as you did Leicester and Chelsea in the previous 2 season's.
You are getting better and better wether we like it or not mate.

This is insane. It's a simple fact as much as it kills me that spurs are a really good team. The thing is that this period of prosperity is goona show for nothing (hopefully) city are going to boss the league and spurs will win nothing and sell their best players. That's what I'm hanging on to any how.

22 Oct 2017 22:37:23
Sano, spuds are a breath of fresh air but they will huff and puff like they have done the past two or three seasons and not blow the house down. Along will come the wolf and take all their piggies away. They will not win the league this or any year. But they will make more of a fist of it than us, for now.

 0 1

22 Oct 2017 22:53:08
Agree Sanogo,
Spurs were terrific last season and won nothing.

We were pants and won FA Cup 👍.

Raver my old mate
The shell suit, the Beatles, all that must take you back to the last time you won something.

Seen it all before at the toot, a false dawn. Redknapp was the messiah and the Toot reached the CL QF, they were going to win the league and had a great squad of players. The result was Harry being the best manager was going to manage England and it all evaporated. The best players, Modric and Bale ended up at Real and the club was plunged back into mediocrity.

With Real and other clubs sniffing around their better players, how long can they hold out before the reality of having to sell players that are receiving as much as half the wages they could earn and no trophies? Walker has already moved to City where he could win his first trophy and is paid proper wages. Else wants to move on t win things, just like Sol Campbell. Alderweirald is very upset wth the lack of a new deal and is on £55,000 a week.

Put simply the Toot's chances of actually winning a trophy a remote, another Leicester is even less likely to happen. As raver61 well knows, the pain is going to continue, hence celebrating 1-1 draws and a home win like they gave actually won a trophy. It makes the pain of. The Toot's failure even more delicious.

Welsh,
You have just won the Golden Boot for "Reply Of The Season".

Love it.

RG I have never known as Tottenham side to win the league my son has never known a Tottenham side to win the league my grankids have never known a Arsenal or Tottenham side to win the league
Sorry mate but you make us sound like Leeds laughing at Sheffield Wednesday fans keep going on about 1961, it's all ancient history in football terms in North London mate.

23 Oct 2017 12:40:16
I used to talk his way about City, we even had a banner at OT counting the years since they won a trophy and we had a great song to an Inspiral Carpets tune. I know they had huge cash injected but thing change. I watch Spurs and City now and they look scary. It could just be a purple patch but Spurs have improved year after year, if they continue then they are serious contenders this year.

Ed 025, feel sorry for your fans, your players letting you down. Like playing against cardboard cut outs.

{Ed025's Note - its been like that all season steve, we are a shambles mate..

I like Koeman a lot and I'm not sure why it's all gone so badly wrong this season for him and Everton but it does seem the club has little alternative but to do something quickly after today.
We did well today but we are a very long way from our best which from an Everton point of view only makes things more shocking.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 19:42:14
If Koeman does go then Sean Dyche looks an ideal fit for Everton to me.
He's been linked with Leicester but with all due respect Burnley Leicester? Is there that much of a difference in the clubs to gamble what he has built up with the fans the board the players?
Everton are a huge club with huge potential and surely a more appealing opportunity to consider.
Plus a not a million miles away from his current location.

It's an odd one, but I think they bought badly in the summer. When you lose your main goal scorer and don't replace him then you are asking for trouble and they lack pace and energy. Rooney is a United legend but he is well past his sell by date, he hardly got a game last year and Sigurdson is not a game changer, ridiculous fee.

Thats funny a man u fan talking about rediculous money for players.

It's a long time since I have seen such a poor Everton team and very surprising under Koeman. Time for fat Sam.

Steve, I'm talking about ridiculous money for 'average' players.

22 Oct 2017 20:54:02
To be fair AJH your probably in quite a good position to speak on this because you've seen a few in recent years mate :-)

Ajh, yes i know. Lol.

22 Oct 2017 21:46:50
Well, Di Maria is probably the best example although Lindelof is running him close. It's amazing how players look like a good buy but turn out to be pants. Depay looked a great buy but was awful, he had his head in his arse to be honest and still does. Buying well is an art form and even SAF got it wrong sometimes (Kleberson, Bell, Djemba Djemba, to name a few) . We have cash but sometimes spend iit very very badly, but then so do you.

Is keoman going to pay the price ed. Moyes back?

{Ed025's Note - lets hope the price he pays is not having the chosen idiot back steve..

22 Oct 2017 16:57:42
Poor poor everton side at the moment but we did a job. Sanchez my man of the match but we just don't play to Lacazettes strength. He looks a player but we don't utilise him properly and why has he still not finished a game, i don't get it.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 17:27:49
So many times he looks the player to play in having made the great run and the player in possession doesn’t play the ball and it’s normally Ramsey.

I’ve no idea the thought process in bringing him off. Beggars belief.

 1 0

22 Oct 2017 17:38:23
Agree stoner, i like the guy, you can see he's class but we do not play him right and we don't get no where near the best out of him. I really don't understand why he gets hauled off every game, what plan is that.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 17:52:51
To be fair, when Laca came off, we were 1-3 up, it's fairly normal to take a striker off and shore up the midfield or defence.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 18:00:15
Dags if it was tactical that's not a problem. Its every game winning losing or drawing.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 18:21:22
It's usaully to get Olly on more than get Lacazette off in my opinion.
Arsene trying to keep a happy ship.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 18:21:38
I totally agree Steve, but I can understand why he took him off today mate.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 18:21:43
Dags today, if it was tactical, ozil should have been first off, not because he didn't perform but because lacca works and tackles as well, ozil doesnt. Its not a tactic for the team.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 19:26:03
Steve,
Ozil is part of the "Comfy Clan".

You can't take him off 😣.

22 Oct 2017 20:20:42
Ha ha dags how right you are.

 0 0

23 Oct 2017 05:35:08
Wilshere Came on for lacazette didn't he? Which is a strange on for me as jacks the one player who looks like he complements laca.

22 Oct 2017 16:47:06
Well I didn't expect that.

Great result.

22 Oct 2017 15:22:49
Great to win, but two sloppy goals conceded.

22 Oct 2017 14:25:46
Xhaka once again. the most annoying thing is not that he lose the ball, but that he don't get up and fight.

 1 1

22 Oct 2017 15:35:17
It would do Arsenal and Xhaka a lot more good than harm for Arsene not to pick him again this side of December.
The lad needs to know what he's giving isn't good enough and see how he responds when his chance comes again at some point in the season.
It's sulky just to keep pretending he's good enough because the pundits and fans won't go along with it and thus will only make both Arsene and Xhaka. the centre of attention for the wrong reasons.
Do the right thing for the player the manager and most importantly the team and take him out of the situation for a bit.

 2 0

22 Oct 2017 11:59:33
Not sure what to expect today but i really hope xhaka elneny and ozil are benched. We need fighters not shirkers. I also think with xhaka and elneny our football is slow and negative, with big holes in midfield when we don't have possession. I don't think it will be easy this afternoon, even though everton are struggling. A big game for both in terms of managers.

{Ed025's Note - certainly for ours steve..

 0 1

22 Oct 2017 12:47:59
Just as i thought xhaka and ozil playing. Lol. oh well, what did i really expect.

 0 1

22 Oct 2017 13:06:55
Agree with your point but don't see how you can put eleny in that bracket?

 1 0

22 Oct 2017 14:21:04
Elneny is a player who does nothing at all, doesn't defend particularly well and does not offer anything going forward. A nothing player really, not good enough for the prem.

 1 2

22 Oct 2017 14:30:23
After last week's disappointing result at Watford we desperately need a win today. Against a sluggish Everton side we need pace and movement.
As far as the DM positions are concerned we need to return to the type of players that were played in our trophy winning era, the likes of Vieira, Petit and Gilberto come to mind.

All were tall, athletic technical player, which we lack in our current DM options. At present we have Elneney, a headles chicken, Xhaka who used to put his foot in and clearly Wenger has coached this out of him and he looks poorer for it. Yes, he got sent off occasionally, but so did Vieira, Keane, etc. Coquelin looks a squad player at best. Not that it will happen as he played mid-week, I would have played Wilshere next to Xhaka and told Xhaka to protect the back four and get stuck in.

 0 1

22 Oct 2017 14:54:13
Thing is xhaka to be blunt is a rubbish tackler. Hence the sending offs. You just can’t get away with mistimed tackles now.

 0 1

22 Oct 2017 16:54:11
Wow! Tell xhaka to protect the back four. First we are playing three, second the last person i would ask to protect anything would be xhaka. Why can't some people see he is not up to it. Should not be in the team.

 2 0

23 Oct 2017 00:34:20
XHaka is great when facing the opponents goal, however he cannot play with his back to goal as he lacks so much awareness of players behind him. If anything we should just be telling the cbs not to play passes into him.

Dags according to people on here pep is a poor manager and wouldn't give him a second look for us. Obviously very lucky so far in his managerial career. On that we should be above them by xmas.

 1 0

21 Oct 2017 22:39:16
Every manager deserves one season to 'sus' out the Prem and to put his mark on the team he manages.

Early days, but they look formidable from back to front.

 0 0

21 Oct 2017 23:06:46
STeve
Not sure who you are referring to however Pep is clearly a quality manager but has always gone to a top top flight club with a budget that exceeds others in the same league by far
I would have liked him at our great club but we don’t have the ambition at a board level or the desire nor resource to match his needs - how much did he spend in two years on top of an already good side.

 0 0

21 Oct 2017 23:22:49
Totally agree, they are a real force.

 0 0

21 Oct 2017 23:24:16
I've not seen that anywhere steve! I think your putting words in people's mouth. The strongest thing I've heard is that he has took easy jobs and inherited good teams. He's spent 130 million on full backs. I'm the same as others that have dared question his credentials and that's how would he get on with a real project that's not half handed to him on a plate . His philosophy certainly appears to be sound and all his teams have played attractive football. So when you say "according to people on here" am afraid your talking a little bit false mate.

 1 4

21 Oct 2017 23:35:51
There were plenty of posts on here when pep was available and linked to us saying he was not a good manager. i'm not digging, just saying, those people will be quiet now and not admit it. My point now and then, those people speak with fork tongue.

22 Oct 2017 00:13:28
I really enjoy watching Guardiola’s teams play and City are no exception, I’d have loved him here.

The ones who dislike him support the red side of Manchester and are incredibly bitter because he didn’t go there.

In my opinion he’s the best out there. It would be interesting to see Klopp and Pochettino at clubs with big money to see what they can really do.

 0 0

22 Oct 2017 07:11:47
Like I say I didn't see many Arsenal fans say he was no good! Don't what's said on other sites as I rarely go on them.

 0 3

22 Oct 2017 08:37:21
Awesome manager, just look at the clubs he has managed and the trophies he has won. The same goes for Mourinho. It astonishes me when people big up the likes of Dyche. Koeman, Howe as possible replacements for Wenger, another trophy winning manager. Most amusing of all is Pochettino who in over 8 years as a manager has won absolutely nothing.

 4 4

22 Oct 2017 10:10:13
Pep did underachive at Bayern Munich in my opinion, he took over the European champions who had also been the beaten finalist the previous season too.
Bayern pre Gardiola were dominant at home and the major force in the Champions league and under Pep they remained dominant at home but never got close to being champions league champions.
Pep has a great philosophy gets his side's to play fantastic football and wins domestic titles for fun and I'd snatch your hand off for a bit of that, but the fact remains in the Champions league post Barcelona he has well underachieved so far given the clubs he's had and ressouures available to him at Bayern and City.
Pep needs to win the Champions league with City that's because they've won premier league titles recently under other managers and high those managers did it in year one too.
I'm not knocking Pep as I said I'd take him gladly but so far post Barcelona he's done nothing unusual at city or Bayern, Barcelona under Pep were the best team I've ever seen for me they had everything.

22 Oct 2017 11:26:31
Pep will win the league with man city, which is still a massive achievement but i also think he will win the champs league again, will that be with citeh?

{Ed025's Note - very possibly the way they are playing mate..

Sano there was plenty of arsenal fans posting about, "out of depth" pep and one called me a direspectful poster for telling him he was wrong, when he said that and there were plenty backing him up. But i wasnt being disrespectful just honest. But like dags says, a long way to go still.
