To the " spurs guvnor" thinking Hutton and BAE are better than Sagna and Clichy is laughable. The only players who I would welcome to the emirates are bale and vdv. Lennon is clearly a worse and slower version of Walcott.

If we bring in a forward it will only be in summer and will be either FALCAO or LUKAKU. HAZARD definitely a Gunner in the Summer. ARSHAVIN AND ROSICKY PROBABLY OUT AS A RESULT. Arsene Wenger doesn't really like playing with two left footed Centre Backs so even though Agger is probably the best option its unlikely that he would feature alongside VERMAELEN

Arsenal have spoken to Sheffield Utd with a view to recalling defender Kyle Bartley in light of the latest injury news.

No new defender will be signed.

Wenger doesn't belive in recalling young players so Bartely will stay at Sheffield United and a new cb or 2 will be signed

Chrsitopher Samba seems most likley aswell as Sol Campbell due to we know how prone to Injury Vermelean is and Djourou has a risk of picking up another long term injury becuase of his other
plus with squallaci being injured and wenger knows that he is not the best of CB
so brining im campbell on small wages wouldn't do us any harm
Especially with Big games in the premier league, Barcelona in champions league
replay of FA cup and hopefully further rounds
plus semi final and hopefully final of league cup
we can't afford to be having only 2-3 CB for that many important games
so having Samba, Campbell, (inj prone)Veremelean, Squallaci, Djourou(inj prone) and Kosicilney seems better than inj prone)Veremelean, Squallaci, Djourou(inj prone) and Kosicilney

Someone has some strange valuations?
Aside from the belief that Mr Wenger will not jetisson Koscielny after one season - he may have had his faults this season but the fact that he shackled (an albeit below par) Drogba, the first Arsenal centre back to do since Frank McLintock, suggests that he is adapting to the English league and will demonstrate the obvious potential Mr Wenger sees in him.
Raising revenue through the release or sale of the players listed above would surely look more like this:
Squillaci: free
Denilson: £8m maximum - though who'd be daft enough, we'd have to wait for Benitez to get another job first.
Rosicky: free - he is sadly past it, has an horrendous injury history and hasn't scored since my mate Mad Mark the Celibate Monk did.
Arshavin: £8m maximum - fabulous on his day, but looks to be a mood player and one who has never flourished in the English tax environment, er I mean League.
Bentdner: £12m and I can only thank his own P.R. that anyone can even put "Bentdner" and "value" in the same sentence - he epitomises all that is wrong about young, spoilt, overpaid, underworked, vaguely talented Premiership footballers. A widgeon of humilty and a dollop of work ethic might see him actually fulfill the same potential as shown by Muamba, Aliadiere, Merida, Nordviet et al. Trouble is, their full potential was never quite good enough for Arsenal in the end and neither would Nicklas be, even if he stopped counting his cash and worrying about that wonderful "hairstyle" of his.
So rather than the £71,000,000 income as above, more likely to get £28,000,000 absolute tops, enough to finance the development of Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Gilles Sunu and all the other promises, promises we faithfully follow every year. Don't get me wrong, I worship Arsene and belive in his methodology, but it's only in dreams that the volume of transfers discussed on these pages will ever happen whilst Arsene is in charge.
I do think Hazard will come - in the summer and Rosicky, Denilson, Eboue, Sagna, Almunia, Bendtner, Lansbury, Clichy, Arshavin, Vela and (sadly) Van Persie will all go in one form or another. Falcao in from Portugal to replace V-P, Walcott switched to striker, Jay Emmanuel Thomas to be "promoted" into first team, and of course a Centre Back that we've barely ever heard of probably from Bosnia- Herzegovinia, and Gregory Van de Wiel to replace the badly maligned Sagna - he doesn't deserve to go but suspect Arsene sees him as a Lauren - solid but not dynamic enough.

Great news fellow gunners! squilacci suffered a hamstring injury on saturday and skysports is reporting that wenger will be forced to buy a defender and he says we quickly have to go get one cause having only two fit cb will not work. rejoice gunners, help is on the way! not only do we get to banish the horrible squilacci to the bench we hopefully will be gettin cahill who is proven in the epl which is a big factor AW overlooked when he got squilacci. cmon gunners!

News claims squillaci suffered a hamstring injury against leeds and vermaelen had an injury setback. this should light a fire under wenger considering ignasi miguel is our only option if djourou or kos get hurt. based on this i could see something happening soon. this could be our blessing in disguise.

I would expect Cahill, Samba or Mertesacker as the main signing along with Sol Cambell to be a last option in the case of injuries. It would technically be a loan from newcastle and free to boot, so tommy v and squillaci can seamlessly transition back into the squad when fit. this is how wenger works. a DF plus Sol gives us 4 defenders, a must. i see something happening now. .lets hope tommy v's recurrence isn't bad news. we need him healthy regardless of who we sign. .
