Well fiorentina said they want 20m so why would we pay 25m? {Ed035's Note - fiorentina have actually set a E30m price tag on him, player plus cash is a possibility with chamakh going the other way}

I swear the new kit lasts until 2014/15 anyway... So this is not true.
Adidas make awful kits in my opinion, they over complicate the design. I'd far prefer Umbro, just nice plain and simple. If Nike can just put the away kit back to Yellow and Blue then I'd be happy.
Gilo

I CANNOT believe some people think this is true! Our current home kit is here for 2 years! Use your brains!
Ben X.

Pretty sure arsenal have the main input into the shirts
Agree0

This was revealed in an article from Bleacher report, personally I think both Adidas & Nike are garbage. I would much rather have Umbro although they are in the process of being sold by Nike. If the club do have the final say into the kits then whoever is agreeing to them wants sacking as most have been abysmal. It's about time they asked the fans what they want seeing as its them who are expected to buy them. Personally I've got a 1971 shirt from TOFFS, it's plain simple & 100% classic Arsenal & definately not made from recycled plastic bottles!!

Who cares i just want them to win something.

Surely the only thing that matters to the club and the board is who pays us the most?

Please be true. Adidas training gear is so much better looking then nike s**te.

I agree with Gilo; I have always liked the kits that Umbro put out. Nothing complicated and they always look great.
Would love to see Arsenal get Umbro as their kit provider; sadly doubt it unless Umbro get bought up by someone.

If its on blecher report it must be true. Mug.
Agree0

Adidas kits look well nice what are guys on about? real madrid kit is well nice
Agree0
Disagree0
I hope it's not true cos I much prefer Nike kits. The last few shirts have been nice because they are modern. To all those whining wanting "nice n simple 1970s kits" I say get your head out of the past! But I'm behind whomever pays us the most!
Agree0

@ Ben X. So you have never seen the last year of a contract bought out? USE YOUR BRAIN.
Snowy
Agree0
Disagree0
Reports of this happening all over twitter as well, follow @lagvilava7 - he's done a mock up of what the Adidas kit could be and to put it Bluntly IT'S FIT AS...
Agree0
Disagree0
As we sell the fourth highest number of shirts worldwide (behind Utd/RM/Barca) i doubt Nike will be outbid when the contract comes up for renewal. Plus Nike helped us out with financing the Emirates by paying all the money for the present contract up front. Personally i think their kits are poor (i do have the last highbury shirt tho!) I get mine from TOFFS now.
Agree0
Disagree0
I would be quite dissapointed but look at chelsea's and Swansea's new kits they are simple and add great gold touches would love gold on the new arsenal kits
Agree0
Disagree0
Just go back to the 70's kits. Simple design and looks good. I've got the 1971 FA Cup yellow jersey and It is one of the best ever arsenal shirts. But with sponsorship deals and so forth we won't see football shirts like that ever again

Would be a dream signing. He is a fighter, we lack players like him.
Ash
Agree0

With' quality not quantity' being the overiding sentiment from Arsene, this would be a very underwhelming signing. If we are going to be realistically competing for the top competitions , we need to be looking players of the calibre of Gotze, Eriksen and Belhandra or their equal . Yes these players are overpriced in the current market , but, as within other industries , some individuals have the rare ability to make a difference, and this is the quintessential ingredient we need , not just a good player.
Agree0

Dempsey is much more likely to go to liverpool, and the 15-17 mil being thrown around makes him a no-go for wenger.

Barcelona have put Afellay up for sale to try and raise funds. Reported price is £6 million. Arsenal and Spurs are both interested. Really hope Wenger bids for him, Id be happy if he replaced Walcott. Plus we would pocket the 8-9 million cash from the walcott sale if he went for 14-15 million
Believable33
Unbelievable21
If walcott is sold, he will be sold for roughly 12mil. maybe 10mil.
Agree0

^^^^^^^^no chance mate 15mil at least if henderson and carrol are worth 20 and 45 million respectively because they are english then that is the least we can get for theo even with only one year on his contract.......ps. would love to see affelay replace walcott might give us a chance of keeping rvp :)
Agree0

Affelay is an injury prone player with hardly any game time...i would anyday prefer walcott over him.
Agree0

And Walcott isnt injury prone. At least Affelay dosnt look like a clueless chicken when he is on the pitch
Agree0

This rumour may have some legs to it, if we remember earlier in the year RVP wanted to have a say in who came in to help the attack, himself and Affelay are good mates, so maybe...?

"Affelay is an injury prone player with hardly any game time..."
So a like for like swap? Don't seem so bad.

Walcott got 8 goals and 11 assists in the premiership last year. Not many wingers produce more and certainly NOT afellay.

Affelay close to agreeing deal with liverpool, arsenal not shown interest in weeks
Agree0

Why does every one bag Theo? Lets have another talented squad player who has bag full of potential to deliver, and sell him to another squad where he will turn out into " the one we let slip away". Affelay is a brillant player and like a previous post mentioned is close friends with RVP. Could this bond make RVP sign at a later date before the next transfer window if these two transform an amazing partnership? Surely something Wenger is thinking about. And a 6-7 mil gamble.... hell why not! If Wenger does brush this asside, then I hate to say it but I think Affelay wil go to Spuds, souly on the fact that another National team mate is there - VDV

I know god song has shown how good he is with his pefect passes and all we need is our midfield to work together to defend wen the other moves forward to attack and also wasnt impressed with mvila in world to be honest. although i still think hes good i just dont think we need him and hope someone outside of the prem takes him
Agree0
Disagree0
It would be wise to bring in one of M'Vila/Capoue. Song has 2 years remaining on his contract and is being represented by Darren Dein. The cynic in me can't help but feel that Mr Billong will be the latest c*nt to disrupt our pre-season next summer.
Agree0
Disagree0
I have to say at this point I would take capoue over m'vila. M'vila's discipline issues make capoue look like a real bargain and the next center back option could give us a specialist anchor in midfield. not that wenger will ever bother putting one there.

"Sebastien Squillaci is an extraordinary player who plays for Arsenal where he has one year contract," he told RMC. "I can not even give you his salary. He is one of the players who are out of reach for us and for many clubs in France.
Again, arsenal paying way too much for poor player's stops us selling them.
Believable19
Unbelievable10
I think Samir Nasri was right that some players are happy just to take their pay cheque even if they don't play. A player who really wants to play would accept a pay cut to be in the team that give him more playing minutes. This is common in NBA and other sports.

A long held complaint of mine, bit part players and bench warmers paid well over the odds - and don't tell me they'd get the same at liverbore or manu, its simply not true (both have players on far less than we pay). Dzeko is a mighty gamble and it's uncertain how good he'll be in the premier league. he's skillful but I think his inconsistency is not only due to lack of playing time - he only had one really great season in germany and he worked best with a strike partner which he won't get at arsenal.

FACT: RVP will be playing abroad next season
FACT: A bid will be placed for Ben Arfa this week. Bid will undoubtedly fall short of Newcastle's asking price, negotiations to take place.

Ed do you think wenger will make more signings and tell me which areas he will try to strengthen? {Ed022's Note - I believe Arsenal are looking at a few positions at the moment. I believe they may well be looking at another Striker, a winger, an RB, and perhaps a CB. There may also be interest in another CM also, but that depends on departures etc.}
Believable11
Unbelievable8
As RVP, Chamakh, Parkm, Bendtner & Vela are likely to depart, I expect a young striker may be purchased, as we have Giroud & Podolski. I do not expect a right winger, as we have Walcott & Oxlade at present, although if Walcott leaves, there may be a chance of a signing. If Djourou departs, I believe we will look to sign a CB, who can cover at RB, as well. I still think we are looking to sign a defensive midfield player.
To sum up, only if Fabianski, Walcott, Djourou or RVP depart, will we make any signings in their positions.
The only definite signing I believe Wenger wants is a defensive midfield player.
