Just throwing my 2 pence worth in. Eds if you have any info it would be welcome. So, now that Sabin has joined b.Dortmund till 2014. Does that leave any movement for gotze a bit easier. Just a thought.

Goonerdazza {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable8 Unbelievable33

You mean Sahin

Agree0 Disagree0

Well ed zero zero two, that was to the point. Thanks for the info sir. Well while your here, tell my beloved club, I don't want Remy and we don't need zaha. Cheers bruvva cuz

Goonerdazza

P.s I will have F.Torres tho plus wanyama and a nice little winger..... I would take a punt on Ben args or n'zogbia. Cheers !!! {Ed002's Note - As of yesterday, Arsenal had made no approach to Marseille regarding Loic Remy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If you meant the sabin character from final fantasy 6 - we would really make use of such a warrior!

asyd

Agree0 Disagree0

I meant sahin mate sheesh! anyways, thanks for the short but sweet answer editor zero zero two !

Agree0 Disagree0

Would arsenal spend 25-30 million on Gotze, no because wenger is tight and won't spend even tho arsenal have so much money

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 21:32:33
Wenger is never going to be able to please 100% of the gooner fans with any signings in this vital transfer window. Opinions from fan to fan vary so much on players, positions, contracts and fees. The perfect player for one fan is a mistake for another.

However if he signs no player of note then he will anger 100% gooners fans.

So I think weighing it up, he really just has to trust his heart (which is undoubtably with Arsenal) and take a punt on a couple players that he thinks can make a difference this season.

gun44

Believable56 Unbelievable9

I agree in general
Only problem is, if he follows his heart which is as you say, completely with arsenal, and if he doesn't sign anyone because he believes they won't improve then team, he may still be happy.

Don't forget, he has one of the best networks of scouts around, studies players for a long time before signing.(sure a michu might slip through every now and then, but he slipped through everyones net)

He knows who he's signing and why every time, even if we don't.

His job is for the team, not the fans.

Trust in wenger, he knows what's he is doing, knows exactly what he has, and knows what is required.

We will still be on champions league next year, if we weren't, he would have done something about it already

Smada

Agree3 Disagree1

Would anyone be unhappy with neymar ??

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jan 2013 07:15:25
rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger talks up the big signings and has done for many years but who has actually been bought in? Don't forget about the world class talent that has left the club for large transfer fees! The club is taking the pis5 out the fans

Anyone thinking about saying he bought in Santi & Pod please don't they we're bought with the money from selling our captain and best player who's now gonna win the league for red nose. The season before that Cesc and Na$ri went an so on...

What about the list of bad buys? The club is always looking to sell high buy cheap therefore weakening out squad season in season out this business model is killing our club fans do not care we are financially happy we just want our team to compete.

Arshavin should have been a world class gooner has been poor due to mismanagement wasted on the wing, as for Gervihno he's shocking not fit to scrub Pires' boots!

Anyway I sincerely prey Wenger opens the purse strings and signs a couple of players that would improve our current squad.

3 points tomorrow wouldn't go a miss either.

OnlyOneGilbertO

Agree0 Disagree0

Smada that's complete bs mate im sorry but squillaci, gervinho and chamakh tell a very different story to the one you just told and we are under the biggest threat to our champs league spot since wenger joined with 6 games over the next 12 days to basically decide our season and not much beyond our first team to play with but obviously wenger knows what is required :/

Just seen a rumour saying Jenkinson going on loan to Crystal Palace and this could be part of negotiating a deal involving Zaha but still loads of money on Manu to sign him now down to 1/4 so I find it very hard to believe.
andylat

Believable4 Unbelievable45

It was supposed to happen. Jenkinson has rejected the move however.

The U21 Game this week had scouts in attendance it's thought 2-3 of the players, would be loaned out.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2013 02:48:46
Sorry mate zaha going utd next week and Jenkinson said no to palace as doesn't want to go championship.. I know this as I have a friend that plays for palace...

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to say this but I have a friend that plays for palace and he said that Zaha will be with Man Utd by next week and there is truth in palace being interested in Jankinson but he said no to moving to a championship club on loan...

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2013 15:59:58
Zaha supports Arsenal so that may give us a little chance of sighning him

Dennis bergkemp will be the star signing of January. To assist AW!!

Believable16 Unbelievable46

Is he Martin kemps brother? If you are going to mention a legend, at least get his name right

Agree2 Disagree0

You know what? I'd take it.

Pakistani Gooner

Agree0 Disagree1

Wenger turned him down 4yrs ago. He's afraid of the old guard as it might undermine him and show his fallings on the training ground

MB

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on MB. The ego of the French fool couldn't take being shown up by the best player to ever wear the Arsenal shirt. Look at Bouldy, he sits on the bench and looks like he's had his tongue cut out for fear of offending the despot that is our glorious leader ( for now)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 18:08:13
Just read that Jenkinson could be going out on loan. Surely not with no replacement. Anyone else heard this?

Believable3 Unbelievable34

I did hear to by he has to make room, and we are interested in m'biwa so could be a possibility

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes that's to get the budget down so the shareholders can have you all over a bit more !!!

11 Jan 2013 17:16:17
adrian lopez or loic remy and yann mvilla......the two signing of january tranfer window..got from reliable source...gunner4life..

Believable49 Unbelievable48

As always everyone under the sun believes they have a credible source....lol

Gunners4Life, In AW we trust!

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on everyone........ Wise up and take a reality check...... AW is tee-ing us up for the big LET - DOWN.
He changes with the wind.
1. We have the funds.
2. Walcott is No.1 priority.
3. We have funds available.
4. Diaby is coming back, (Hey - Ho!
5.I will only buy if exceptional player becomes available.
6. Rosicky is fit again.

And on and on and on.
Don't hold your breath lads.
Nothings changing and that includes 4-3-3 and pathetic zonal marking.
We are in for a long wait.......

Agree2 Disagree1

Agreed.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2013 09:16:30
I too don't think he'll sign anyone, he'll come out with some crap about diaby being a new signing....hes just a jerk.....things will only change if supporters vote with there feet and stay away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your 'reliable source' is a joker or your a liar.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 16:25:09
Edd, do you know how much Wenger was told he could spend in this transfer window? With all the names people keep mentioning it would be good to know if there is a possibility that they could come. Wishful thinking, I know but we can all dream of new signings!

100% Gooner {Ed002's Note - I don't and would rather avoid any discussion of money.}

Believable3 Unbelievable18

To me, it always seems like Wenger's told to handle all the rubbish out and come asking for the money when the deals are to go through and are financially viable. it'd explain why we try low-balling all the bids and wages and losing out. Dein got involved personally and helped out. now it's like it's just Wenger and his lackeys.

psychocyst.

Agree0 Disagree0

With the new Stadium deal that should have come summer, being pushed forward to Jan the club got 70m GBP to spend.

30 of which is for now. 40 For summer. Not inclusive of money on sales of course; but does include wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 14:57:18
Think Loic Remy is a great striker, but a bit worried about his heart problems if he should come... {Ed002's Note - It is not an issue.}

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Quite a few players at our club have a 'lack of heart'. Is that what you mean? ;-)

Agree4 Disagree0

A lot of players at our club lack many things.

Arsenal are reportedly bidding for Robert Lewandowski for £15million.

Believable18 Unbelievable63

Lies!!!!!!!

The Dude

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love to see this guy in an arsenal shirt but I don't see Dortmund letting him leave in jan

Agree1 Disagree0

I would love this to be true but he will join Man Utd in the summer.
Chess

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 16:23:59
I thought that this guy was very fond of a move to man utd and was heading there as a result at the start of the summer transfer window.

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't be silly

Agree1 Disagree0

So what happens to Giroud our latest signing?

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't be going to utd.
Why would utd buy another striker? He would have gone but they bought rvp so that's rvp, little pee, welbeck and Rooney don't think another striker will happen to utd. We will buy another striker though I'm certain if that.

Ben gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 13:35:24
Wenger has said no players to come in unless some players leave. I can't believe this, at this rate we won't even be playing Europa league next year.
Limerick Gunner

Believable45 Unbelievable35

I thought it was no players will leave unless replacements are in place was the last thing said.

Agree1 Disagree0

Some players have left

djourou and chamakh

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 13:53:37
Another pessimistic fan. Just what we need. I'm quite sure you will find its the other way around. He said he will not let anyone leave unless he buys someone first. Which looks likely. Really lets just wait till the window slams shut before we start complaining about how we've done in it. As tempting as it too complain lol

D16

Agree1 Disagree0

Wenger quoted "Arsene Wenger says Arsenal will be bringing new players in before any leave the Emirates" so other way round pal!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's not what he said.

He said that no more players will leave, unless new players come in.

Very different statement, but easy to mis-read if all you are is negative!

Agree0 Disagree0

Our club is a shambles - would Fergie have allowed the Walcott saga to drag on this long - no he would not. It does not take much to realise that qualification for the CL is a must with our wage bill etc, yet Wenger sticks with the unreliable players such as Diaby (a great player when fit) and hopeless players like Ramsey. Here we are approaching the middle of January and no sign of any new players. At least we can be thankful that Gervinho will be missing for a few weeks - he is simply terrible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Broken promises - Wenger knows that he will be out at the end of the season, so if he is interested in any players he will wait until he joins his new club and then buy them. He and the club are taking us all for a ride (and of course our money).

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger said that no more players would be leaving until we have got some players in, yes we got rid of djourou and chamakh on loan but he means, rosicky, arshavin etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fear not Diaby will be back for a game and then oops

Agree1 Disagree0

Other way around, read whole articles and not the headlines...

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who quoted that fergie would not have let the Walcott saga go on.

Please get your facts straight, they are having exactly the same problem with nani

Agree0 Disagree0

You are all wrong. this are wenger's words:

The Gunners boss said it was unlikely that Arsenal would add to their squad in January but it was not because nobody wanted to move to the north London club.

'If you look at our squad, it's quite complete'.

doesnt sound like any players coming in to me. classic

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of sources are reporting, that Negredo's agent is in London to talk with Tottenham, Arsenal and even West Ham about a possible move for the striker. 20. mio are in talks.

And it looks very much like Wenger has strong interrest in Remy and Zaha again.

AustrianGunner

Believable15 Unbelievable32

Please not Remy, another average French player and unproven at the highest levels. We need prove goal scorer not untested potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

These playes aren't good enough to make us challengers.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 12:17:11
Who do you seriously think arsenal will sign in jan ?

Believable8 Unbelievable33

Walcott

Categorically no one!

Seriously - Nobody!

Agree0 Disagree1

Walcott that's it

Agree0 Disagree1

M'biwa
remy
walcott
:o)

Agree2 Disagree0

Someone we have not heard of.

Agree1 Disagree0

Walcott. And wenger will say diaby is like a new signing

Agree1 Disagree0

Wenger looking to sign jack rubbish if he is can get him cheap....

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 12:15:15
Believe that Dortmund are leading the race for his signature, likely to move in summer
Top player though {Ed002's Note - If only we knew who it is?}

Believable8 Unbelievable18

Well Ed002, I think it is obvious really...it's that bloke that Dortmund are interested in, you know the one...that bloke, the one that is rated as a top player.
I for one think that is a nailed on certainty.
Keep up the good work Eds.

Kermit79 {Ed002's Note - Given the state of his new haircut and that tattoo I would doubt Arsenal would want him in any case.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Ed002, isn't the dodgy tattoo and haircut issue affecting a good 60% of all players. At this rate there will be no one left to sign.

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

But he has a poor touch and can't finish, so there is still hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have been trying. To figure. Out who you. Are talking about, little help {Ed002's Note - Think laterally; and think about railways and the colour orange.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe he meant Nuri Sahin

Just read this on Arsenal Website :

"Arsène Wenger says his priority in the January transfer window is to keep his squad together and bring injured players back into the fold.

The Frenchman admits that talks to extend Theo Walcott's contract are progressing well, and is optimistic a deal will be done soon.

But when questioned about the possibility of signing new players, the Arsenal manager said there are more pressing matters at hand."

Think it just shows why we will not be buying anyone.

Paul B

Believable35 Unbelievable8

Sick and tired of all this now. There is 50M to spend on players. But yet again the board don't seem to want to anything about it. The squad needs strengthening and relying on Diaby's fitness is not ideal at all. The manager has said he is looking to bring in 3 or 4 players in the window and nothing has been done.

Agree0 Disagree0

"We are still working in the transfer market but we only want exceptional players, " he told reporters. "In England you are always under pressure to buy.

"We have no problem with people wanting to join us. There's different ways to be successful in football. Money helps but is not the only way."

from his latest interview. Don't spread panic dude -.-'

AustrianGunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Enough of ths crap..time to go..this squad needs help NOW

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that the issue regarding ticket prices at The Emirates is becoming a problem, I expect to see quite a few empty seats, especially if we are in a position where we can win nothing again. This may finally make the board see sense and take action especially as they will not be having their priviledged pockets lined with the fans hard earned money. It would not be so bad if we had a team full of quality players, but we only have a few and the rest are average at best, or in some cases awful!

Agree0 Disagree0

Deep down we all knoiw Wenger will not be spending the money needed to get us challenging for any trophies, he is deluded and cannot see that he and the board are killing the once great Arsenal !

Agree0 Disagree0

If we buy only exeptional players, were we given Denilson, Ramsey, Gervinho, Giroud, Squilacchi, Cygan, Stapanovs, the list would be endless !

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 11:28:33
why do we not make a bid on Sneijder? He wants to play in premier league and he is still quality and has routine!

Believable28 Unbelievable20

Would cost too much money and we are overloaded in his position, other areas more key

Agree0 Disagree1

Got a sneaking feeling he has an ego and would not be one to sit on the bench if Wenger decided to rest him.
Wage demands would also be a sticking point. Can't deny he is a good player though.
Dare I say it, I think SAF would be the manager to cope with him similar vein to Ronaldo, not Wenger's cup of tea.

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

Because we won't pay him the £200,000 per week he currently earns.
jeez, sorry for shouting but how many times does that have to be explained ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Overloaded? Always room for improvements!

Agree0 Disagree0

His been a poisionous influence in the dressing room. Inter are desperate to get rid of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's more likely to join galatasary cause they have made a bid

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 11:08:31
Wenger is now stating that his two priorities are signing deals with existing players & getting the injured players fit. He also mentions signing top quality players...
It isnt simple to sign top notch players, you have to entice their clubs into selling them & pay the goinbg rate in wages.
I want Baines & Fellaini. £17m & £30m, with wages to match, should do the trick. Wake up Wenger, before its too late.

Believable12 Unbelievable22

Fellani would only cost £22m cause of his buy out

Agree0 Disagree0

Why pay 30m for Fellaini when you could activate his 22m release clause

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes has said these players are not for sale. Even if they were Everton isnt dumb enough to sell there two best players to a rival premiership club

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 21:31:22
I agree with baines and felaini both top quality players

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2013 20:54:39
Ed, can you give me the facts on M'Vila and Mapou Yanga-M'Biwa? Have we put in a bid for either? They would be the perfect defensive additions to the team. {Ed002's Note - The search function is what you need.}

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Ed002- your reply about using search function.... doesn't seem to work for either of the two players M'vila or Mapou Yanga-M'Biwa {Ed002's Note - Spurs, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Newcastle, QPR, Zenit, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all shown a interest in M'Vila over the past year and it was thought that perhaps even PSG and Barcelona would become interested as well - although the well publicized issues have probably put pay to that. However, he was there for the taking of Arsenal should they make an offer that is acceptable to Rennes but his recent issues with his National coach has made Arsenal think again. Spurs put an offer on the table - a 15M euro bid which was rejected, something Rennes now regrets. Zenit is another club who remain interested and QPR would look to attract him to London but I don't see that as a viable option. If he were to be available to move this winter, there is going to be no shortage of interest but I suspect he would still be happy with a move to Arsenal or Newcastle.

Mbiwa had been of serious interest to AC Milan, Lille and Fenerbahce but having signed a new deal at Montpellier they will not be looking to sell in January unless a significant offer were made and Montpellier may then look to start an auction. The summer may see further interest from Milan and both Chelsea and Arsenal may bid for Mbiwa.}

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 10:43:58
Forget Zaha, Villa or Nergado!
Welcome Loic Remy! Its almost a done deal.

No iker Casillas or any other keeper.

Yann M'vila is long linked but is NOT close to an arsenal move.

Only positive confirmed news is Walcott's signature.

Lets focus together on the CITY game and not HOPE for big transfers. We're in the Wenger era guys and nothing changes.

Lets hope we nail city!

COYG!

Believable32 Unbelievable18

Loic Remy cannot buy a goal; is he an improvement on any of our current stock.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger said he won't purchase from France but Spain or Germany.....said on the radio he has two players for ever position......Walcott new deal is the only thing that will happen.....stubborn Frenchman......what a joke

Agree0 Disagree0

Has walcott signed only ssn was saying wenger is still hopeful

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 12:37:20
Hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking at Wengers press conference today, I'd say well sign no1 and just get Walcott to sign.

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott not signed yet has he. Loic Remy rumour says Arsenal favs but not according to book makers Newcastle are favs. {Ed002's Note - As of this point in time, Arsenal has not made any approach to Marseille regarding Remy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

With regard to Walcott, as far as I am aware he has still not signed the new contract - I say give him a deadline and he still does not sign, then sell. No player should be allowed to dictate to the club and if he really wants to stay then he should commit now. This is typical of Arsenal not being pro-active and it will cost us again and again unless something is done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remy is pretty average in the french league so would not be a success in the premiership. Also I think a draw is the best we can hope for against city even with their weakened team.
Chess

Agree0 Disagree0

Chess “ what do you mean their weakened team? They have the most expensively assembled team in football, missing 2 players is hardly weakened. I fancy us to beat them again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remy is an ok player playing in a weak league. We don't need him.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 01:18:08
Dear edd

The Representative of Negredo are apparently in London tonight to make a signing there are rummers that he is going to either totenham or arsenal do you know which way it is looking? {Ed001's Note - all I know for sure is that Spurs and Sevilla are in talks over a player transfer from Seville to London. The likelihood is that it is Negredo, but that bit is not 100%, just conjecture based on the evidence available.}

Believable7 Unbelievable28

He would be the best of the bunch we are linked with, volley expert a bit like van persie. please we don't want remy he ain't good enough.

Arsene Wenger has identified Wilfried Zaha, Loic Remy and Lucas Biglia as his targets for January. Remy now looking particularly likely to sign.
The Gooch

Believable12 Unbelievable59

Not good enough to win PL for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Here we go again. Wenger is apparently saying that we will only buy exceptional players, we will sell first and that our squad is pretty much complete already - seems to me as though the cheque book is going to remain firmly closed yet again! - I sense trouble ahead with the fans starting to turn especially in view of the recent publicity about ticket prices!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ill be really happy is we got Remy. Really don't want Zaha, i believe he is over-rated, never heard of other guy (same old wenger)

Agree0 Disagree0

Biglia refused to return to Anderlecht.

Agree0 Disagree0

Biglia is an Argentine international, he is very good.

I don't see why we don't make a move for isco, he's been quality this season and malaga clearly need the money

Also he's very versatile and can play on both wings and cam and he has great potential for the future. Maybe not so much now but definatley if he's still available in the summer

North Bank Gooner

Believable48 Unbelievable5

Malaga now do not need the money pal. However, he does have a release clause in the region of around £17.5m.

I fear this won't last until the summer though as Malaga are trying to re-negotiate a new contract for him which will have a significantly higher release-clause.

Now or never probably.

Agree0 Disagree0

Balague, who let's face it does know his stuff about Spanish football, has said that Isco doesn't want to leave Spain. He reckons he'll stay at Malaga for another couple of years then join Barca or Real.
