Serge Gnabry joins Bayern Munich. It's a shame we couldn't keep him as Wenger decided to give other players who have never performed.
We will regret letting him go.
we seem to be doing the same mistakes even with our young players; even Zelalem and Dan Crowley may leave.
Also read that Chris Willock, another prospect may join Man City as he is on the last 12 months of his contract. So Wenger can't even convince our youth players to sign contracts.
I can't wait for 2 years to pass.

Sorry gunner mate but that just sounds a bit like your throwing a tantrum about young players leaving to find game time who's to say he's even going to get a match at Bayern.

I'm just saying, we can't keep our too senior players, we can't keep our top young players. Speaks a lot about people in charge of contract negotiations at the Emirates. It may be a tantrum, but its true. We seem to only keep mediocre players happy.

Time will tell on all, if Gnarby goes on to be a top player who plays in champions league semi finals and finals and Theo never does either then there will be little room for argument only a lot more excuses as to why it wasn't Arsenals fault, I'm sure there will no shortage of those should it turn out badly for us.

I am sure we tried to keep him - you cannot force players to sign contracts

Easiest way to keep players happy is to highest level they are happy to perform at, Top players want trophies and easier to sign them up on new contracts if you are winning

However, player power means it's in their financial interest to run down contracts to maximise wages - wouldn't you do that and what do you expect the club to do.

62 - it won't just be Arsenal who are forced to release talent against their will

Sure Barcelona regret plenty of players who have left as do Chelsea and Utd . Part and parcel of the demands of the English fans plus competitive nature of EPL where mistakes by players like Iwobi are highlighted as costing us much needed points

Last I saw and heard - we wanted to keep him and get him games. He decided to play for a team and do exactly the same but he benefits more than the club. Worked out well for the young man - good gamble

Pretty sure we have Iwobi, Bellerin and Holding who are young and getting their chance.

Easy to pick on exceptions and not look at the bigger picture

This is not aimed at you at all but banter based on the above and I know how you will react to my post as not a personal dig.

SY mate you use Barcelona Chelsea and Utd as an example so let's use your examples, how long has each of them been without a title? How long have we?
Wouldn't you be better off using Leeds Huddersfield Blackpool and Preston as examples to make us look good :-)

I am of the opinion that Gnabry only joined Werder so that he could sign for Bayern 12 months later. That way they'd get a cut price deal and effectively get to loan Gnabry out for a year at the same time. I reckon they tapped him up while he was still at Arsenal and planned this out together. I'm not even sure Gnabry intended to stay at Arsenal long term and may have had eyes on Bayern the whole time.

Just my opinion.

From what I am led to believe and what I remember from last year, the deal was always for him to move to WB prior to moving on to BM. The press, at the time of him leaving AFC, alluded to it.

I'm just saying, the Gnabry situation could have been handled better, Sanogo kept getting chances, Gervinho kept getting chances, Walcott keeps getting chances, at he cost of players like Arshavin, Lucas, Podolski. Wenger seems to have a soft spot for certain (read French) players. We end up loosing good players.

Podolski and Arshavin played loads of games under Arsene.

Sorry G254 but I think that's bollocks. Gnabry got plenty of chances but had a terrible injury. We loaned him out to regain match fitness and make it into the starting XI at WBA, but I think Pulis deliberately wanted to bench him to get back at Wenger. Sending him to West Brom was I think Arsene's only mistake here.

I thought he was brilliant when he broke into the first team. I remember he played a great role in keeping us at the top that season till he got injured.
