There is no doubting arsenal need another CB Eman. When Kos was suspended and Verm was injured, we were playing the 3rd and 4th choices with no CB on the bench. I would love to see Arsene sign Mertesacker. He is a tall, powerfull, no nosense, take-one for-the-team type player. Someone who would steady the defensive ship. I would also be ecstatic if Honda signed. He is a fantastic, skilful wizard of a player. His freekicks make Ronaldos look like a sunday league toe punt.
Imagine an inter-changable midfield/strikeforce of: Fabregas, Nasri, Song, Wilshere, Ramsey Arshavin, Honda, Walcott, Van Persie and Chamakh. Literally drooling. With Verminator and Mertesacker at the back and Mr consistent (Sagna) and the pace of Clichy providing support, with great athletic keepers in Szczensy and Safehandski.

Just been raeding some transfer news
appareny vermaelen will be out for the whole season due to an achilies injury. and its reported wenger will try to sign mexes cause his contract runs out in the summer and should be available for around 4-5mil. and squilaci and koscienly have recently sighned but not sure they can adapt to the english and play the 30 plus games so it would be ideal to bring in another cb
gary cahil mite be sold due to boltons financial problems
but i don't think wenger will splash out 15mil on him
also wenger is very intrested in keiusu honda and cska will let him go for around 9mil could be a great addition.
the player i want arsenal to sign is andy caroll hes strong and powerfull and plus hes english

Well anon poster, basically SEVERAL goalkeeping coaches have hailed Sczezney as a future star. In fact A.W himself clamied him to be the future of goalkeeping at Arsenal, not Fabianski which was interesting.
But more to the point, Sczezney was threatning to quit and leave for free because of his lack of FIRST TEAM football (aged 20) hes well aware of his talent and wants his chance now.
The fact that hes signed the shows that the hierarchy most likely gave him promises of his future, and of immediate first team football if Fabianski fails somehow.

I dunno why everyone wants big changes, besides why would we need 5 CB? Because essentially that would be Vermaelen, Djourou, Koscienly, Squillaci and Unknown with only 2 positions. In order for someone to be brought in we would need to sell.
Also weve been keeping quite a few clean sheets of late so im not too sure a defender is needed till the summer.
O yeah with signing Sczezney on a new deal, I think that spells the end for Almunia hes been totally frozen out. I think him signing the deal means that he was guranteed 2nd choice keeper.

Sagna and Clichy are two of the best full backs in the premiership and are both full French internationals. Rosicky is just starting to show what he can do. Djourou and Koscielny are more than capable squd players. Diaby is a very good player who hasn't had he best of luck. It's easy to point the finger at keepers but I do think Fabianski will come good, especially as Chesney has just signed a new long term deal.
Of that list of players you wanted in only Hazard and a keeper would represent a genuine improvement, although Buffon might not be the same when/if he comes back from injury.
Real rumours if you're interested are Chellini and Giovinci both at Juve.
