SO it's come out that we made attempts to sign Hazard, M'Villa, anyone else? Does this mean we can genuinely expect some movement in Jan seeing as we didn't acquire any of our targets? Also Hazard is now wanted by Liverpool....if he goes there....

25 and two years older this depends on there champions position in january
I doubt Marvin Martin would cost 25 million...
Martin is much less
There was an msn article about our bid for Gourcoff yday, and someone posted that they were glad he didn't come to us because he's a CROCK. What do they mean? Also a lot of people agreed and nobody disagreed. What's wrong with Gourcoff? I know nothing about him.
A crock meaning he is allways injured.

Arsenal looking at Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez and will put in a £12 bid in January.
Solid midfielder but he is more of a defensive midfielder. We already have Song, Pingpong, and Coquelin in that position.
We need to strengthen other areas before even thinking about getting a defensive midfielder. Areas such as centre back, depth at right back, creative midfielder, striker, winger, manager, board of directors...
Its Funny Because One, Iniesta Was A Dm and Two, He Can Play Centre Back, Probably Right Back, Creative Mid And Remember This Kid Is Still Young Wenger Could Wonders With this Lad
I know we're cheap but twelve quid is pushing it even for Arsenal.
Where did u get the source from then
Try doubling that 12m to 24m. He signed a new long term contract recently so will cost a lot of money.

Hi Arsenal fans I have it from my source in Spain (he has never been wrong so far) that you are in talks with Barcelona over the preparation of a 40m swoop for David Villa in January who is featuring less and less at Barcelona. Whether RvP is being considered as a make-weight is yet to be confirmed in Spain. Although Villa's release clause is immensely high, it is expected that Barcelona will strongly consider your approach in light of him being almost surplus, and in light of Barcelona still owing Arsenal funds for previous player sales from Arsenal to Barcelona. Expect this to break in the media this week or very soon.
Good luck to you for this season.
Apache Out.
Y would we want him, no disrespect but hes 30 years old now 40m too much in my opinion at that age.
Exactly this, we go from offering 1yr contracts to 30yr olds to paying 40m for 1 probably on a 3-4 yr deal? when there are better, younger and cheaper players out there? behave yourself and jog on!
Doubt it would happen but think city would get themselves involved -bidding £60m -knowing them
No trust me this one is seriously on the cards - Villa has a few seasons left in him but this is the last season the Barcelona vets are being kept on. Villa is only happy to play at a similar club and talks are going on. Honestly just watch the papers for the next few days, Villa to Arsenal and it will happen in January.

If it did happen, it would be for nowhere near 40million. I don't think even City would pay that much for someone who is almost 30 years old.
Barca still owe us money from over the years so perhaps that would lessen the price but otherwise this seems extremely unlikely. He must have massive wages as well.
He plays week in week out for Barca, so I doubt they are looking to sell him. Plus we won't pay 40m for him. So basically this is a load of garbage.
40m for villa isnt bad, guy is a guranteed goal machine. People saying he is too old, are probably the same people contradicting themselves by saying there isnt enough experienced leaders in our team. Villa is quality. Tevez is quality. Eto'o is quality. All getting on now..but still worth the money.
However, no way Villa would come to Arsenal. No way.
Daniel
Your mate is wrong!
40m or not, or if this is true or not, I'd love it if he came to Arsenal, goals goals goals.
Raz
David villa is world class not much better then him atm but 40mil bit to much
Tevez...getting on? He is 27, you're having a laugh right!
And who is replacing david villa at barcelona?
they barely have strikers in that squad...if they were offloading their midfielders i would buy it...but from David Villa, Messi, Pedro and sanchez who are forwards and iniesta who can play the wing...considering they play 3 forwards would it not be insurance to keep villa even as a back up player which he will be in a year or two.
Its not realistic. the price is not realistic...we have still not gone over 15 mill...and if we want to spend over that sum we have low balled offers which we never win.
