Gonzalo Higuain is set for showdown talks with Florentino Prez and Carlos Ancelotte. A deal was in place for around 23m poinds, however real still wish to keep him and wanted clear the air talks before making a final decision. Real will not stand in his way if he reiterates his intention to leave to seek a regular starting birth, but real will only let him leave if a) find they can find a suitable replacement and b) the buying club meet the 30m euro valuation, which is about 26m pounds.

Arsenal need a striker of Higuain's calibre, and someone who is disciplined unlike Suarez. The Argentine is potentially the Gunners most important summer target.

So what is the most ideal outcome from the Suarez and Higuain rumours? Madrid buy Suarez and sell Higuain to Arsenal - win, win and another win as Liverpool lose a potential golden boot winner!

Arsenal ain't signing no big names, well sign unheard of players or OKAY players nothing more, it pains me to know this I feel this same feeling every year. If any deal were tied up like some people are saying, we would have taken these players on tour to gel in. We may be close, but that's all we wanna be so our board can say we tried and showed intent Fellaini is no done deal, there's links to 2 other clubs, Suarez is a quality player a bad apple and just doesn't seem a Wenger player, higuain is in peace talks as is rooney and if chelsea and city get in if the talks fail were left with not even scraps. At best hope city get jobetic chelsea sign rooney and torres becomes available, hell fit in well even though he's been more torrid then torres. Even then he'd rather pay 700 french 14 yr olds minimum wage to represent the club than a landmark player!

Agree2 Disagree4

Well you have got to hand it to Real. At least they won't sell a player unless they get a suitable replacement! Not like us we don't give a monkeys it seems. We sell anyone anytime good or bad. Ball boys included.

Agree4 Disagree0

Spot on in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a goal scorer a fox in the box. Huguain is not that but suarez is. Also Suarez is experienced in the prem and huguain isnt. In my opinion let Real keep Hig and let's have Suarez. Do you really think hig will score 30 goals in his first season? Has he ever scored 30 goals in a season? We need Suarez

Agree0 Disagree1

Suarez hasn't scored 30 goals?

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuian is emmense just because he dosent get start every time for real does not mean he isn. t one of the best strikers in the world.
1) Higuians goal conversion is only matched by ronaldo & messi fact.
2) the prem is different to most other leagues and it does take usually some time for players to get adjusted but when players come from la liga it's usually a different story they usually smash it here. I. e mata, cazorla, michu, fabregas, arteta ect. and hits would be the same.
3) his attitude for the game is incredible if arsenal don't just sign him up then someone else will it's Ridiculus, this seemed so close to happening and now so far

Benjamin gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Your wrong with Arteta, he played in Scotland

Agree1 Disagree0

Scotland. oh please. and he was still great when he came to the EPL

Igloo

Agree1 Disagree1

Fabregas came when he was 15 and didn't start straight away. By the way not every spanish player does well Reyes anyone.
In my opinion we need a Suarez type striker a finisher with some speed and aggression after all that's why the prem is the most entertaining in the world. Higuain doesn't excite me and not starting is hardly an excuse when your competition 'Benzema' isn't exactly setting the world alight

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jul 2013 15:42:34
To be honest I would have either! And so would most fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't buy this "good finisher" tag associated with Suarez. Check the stats. The proportion of chances that he puts away of all the chances created for him either by himself or the team is ridiculously low. Basically with Liverpool you have an entire team playing for him, but he is just too wasteful. Plus he really wouldn't help Arsenal's cause with all the trouble that comes with him. Personally I wouldn't want him mainly for his troubles but considering the fee and the value he would add as a player it wouldn't be worth it.

tivoli

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuian is a great player and if he signs for us you'll regret to have ever doubted his talents. He is second to benzema who scored 22 goals and got 18 assists last season the only reason he is preferred is because of his footballing relationship with ronaldo. rooney is a great striker and proven but isn't played there because rvp does so well.

just to clarify I didn't say every player, I said "It's usually a different story" so please don't put words in my mouth its as sloppy and stupid and in line with a lazy british sporting journalist.
but if you want to be picky cesc was 16 when he joined from barca. here are a few more players that have come in from la liga. aguero, alonso, the silva, Garcia, reina, Torres, Michu.

Please Don't misunderstand what I'm saying, i'm not saying that just because higuian comes from la liga he will therefore be amazing in the prem cause on that basis alone it would be a very outlandish and stupid comment. what i'm saying is he will be amazing in the prem because of his ability, skill and mentality he would be world class for us, he just dosent want to play second fiddle and waste his career on the bench with part time apperances which to me says his going to be clinical wherever he goes and I for one hope it's Arsenal and think 25 million for a proven world class goal scorer is very reasonable these days compared to other ridiculously hyped up players out there.

Benjamin gunner

Agree0 Disagree1

Aretea came from Barcelona's academy and was a graduate he then went on to play for Rangers and Real Sociedad until he finally joined Everton the rest is history.

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuain out scored Benzema in the league and all competitions making less appearances. Please get off Suarez's nuts fans! He was had on prolific season at Liverpool a top class talent he is but to pick him strictly as our number CF over a proven established poacher with an outstanding record for both club and Country to which he keeps Tevez and Aguero out of is ridiculous. Higuain stays in the box and scores goals Arsenal need a poacher like him and he can score on his own at the head of an attack.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2013 17:39:26
i was just making a point and obviously not a bad point as that's the only fault you could pick out.
fact. arteta also played in the french league but started at barcalonas academy. yes I can read to lol

benjamin gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Real could also agree to a 20m+Higuain for Suarez deal, that'd be a win win for us too.

Sj

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez scored 48 or something in one season at Ajax and he did score 30 last season for Liverpool so your wrong

Just heard Arsenal have accepted a bid from Roma for Gervinho, this should be tied up in the next few days.

Unfortunately with only a year left on Chamakh and Bendtner contract the best we can hope for is a loan deal for both which will see them run down down the remaining year.

The up shot of it is no one is prepared to take on their current terms and conditions, so we are stuck with them for another year, however it is expected that a loan deal for Chamakh will see him move to Spain.

I think the club are honestly considering terminating parks contract, I feel that the club are willing to do this due to the unfortunate circumstances the club have put him through.

Signing coming in pfffff. There will be new players coming but I would be lying if I knew who at this point.

Believable47 Unbelievable12

Park yes I agree I read somewhere he will have the contract terminated after he returns from military preparations.

Gervinho I agree

Your prob right on Chamakh and Bendtner

Agree0 Disagree1

Funny how we can't sell Chamakh. I wonder why? Ha ha What I would like to know is how we EVER! Paid for him in the first place. Must be one of the worst players to tie a pair of football boots on, if he can even manage that absolute rubbish. Shouldn't even be a lower league player. Semi pro at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully Bendtner could be on his way to Hull City, on a permanent.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm amazed we have accepted a bid from Roma - apparently they only offered 3m euros. That's a joke considering they just paid £4m for some kiddy defender.

If they've offered more like 8m euros then fair dos, even though that is still pretty low.

As for Chamakh and Bendtner, I disagree, I think they will be offered 6 months wages in a lump sum and have their contracts terminated should they fail to find new homes by the start of august. We've done it with Denilson - at least the guy wanted to play! B52's Frankfurt deal died on its arse because he insisted on a buy-out clause that would come into effect after one year, meaning he probably had no intentions of staying around i. e. he wanted to use them as a stepping stone. He is the sole barrier between a new home and regular game time - that in itself contributes to our ability to terminate his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Roma have offered 7m euros, arsenal have accepted with either a sell on clause or with additional bonus stipulations which could see the deal reach 8.5m

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post, and thanks for not lying. Welcome to the minority here.

napoli have announced the signing of raphael from santos, he is a world class keeper which means that napoli will no longer feel the need to buy julio cesar. cesar also announced on many occasions that he hopes to stay in london.

higuain will not sign for arsenal as he told f perez he is willing to stay at real and fight for his spot eventhough he announced that he would be leaving this summer

liverppool have told arsenal they would only consider negotiating with arsenal if we made a bid of £40million or above. this afternoon a. w also stated that there are some secrets with the possible suarez transfer that he can't tell us about

Believable18 Unbelievable29

He never said that at all find one quote saying that.

Matter of fact Madrid on their website and Marca and AS have said Coentro and Higuain are the only players free to leave.

Higuain did openly say he wants to leave nothing contradicting that so far.

Agree0 Disagree1

Suarez could force a transfer to Arsenal or Madrid with a official transfer request which could see either team get him for slightly less.

Agree0 Disagree2

Higuain could still come he has not said that at all in fact Marca and AS are claiming otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's not a world class keeper mate. He's good, but not world class. More teams would have gone for him if we was

Agree0 Disagree1

Is that your only judgement on being a world class keeper. Why are more teams not after Adler? Cesar is a top quality keeper and has proved it for club and country over the years.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 19:58:55
Geoffrey Kondogbia and julio cesar to arsenal is pretty much done also gervinho going to ether roma or marseille santos close to a loan move back to brazil both were left out of our pre-season tour

Believable18 Unbelievable17

Brilliant news on Gervinho and Santos leaving Kongdognia I wouldn't mind.

Apparently we're close to signing a young Brazilian lad called Bernard for £21m. To be honest I know nothing about him, does anybody know if he's any good? Would he be worth that much?

Believable22 Unbelievable16

Got potential. spurs were thinking they would sign him along with paulinho
Sw18gooner

Agree0 Disagree1

He has bags of potential and should become world class if he has the right attitude, very tricky and agile left winger

-YoungGunner

Agree0 Disagree1

Short and tricky player. Very good technically. Could definitely be a good signing. However, I'm not too sure whether he's a winger or CAM so could replace Gervinho if he goes.

Agree0 Disagree1

Im from Uruguay. I saw him in confederations & Libertadores cup. He is good. But, he is not what we need. Not better than our players

Agree0 Disagree2

He is quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's keeping the likes of Ronaldhino out of the Brazil squad. Has to count for something?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he is last post he is naturally skillful I mean crazy tricks not a good feint and a sharp shot! He will twist defenders in and out which is what we don need. Tell me one player in our team with his pace, skills and dribbling ability.

Not Walcott for dribbling or trickery
Not Podolski
He is more skillful than the OX who I rate very highly
Miyachi no
.
Gervinho No
??

Agree0 Disagree0

Him learning from santi would be amazing!

Agree0 Disagree0

He's too small for the English game, stoke would break him. {Ed052's Note - Bernard is a tough player, he'd be fine}

Just heard that Arsenal are interested in signing Yevhen Konoplyanka who is branded as "Ukranian Messi". I remember this guy from last year's Euros, also I think he scored at Wembley against England in the WC qualifiers. Ed, is there any truth to this? {Ed027's Note - Not heard anything on him mate

Believable7 Unbelievable35

Totally fed up with all this speculation with no end result. I see that another of our so called targets, Jovetic, is off to Man City - cross that one of the list Wenger along with Higuain, Rooney, Cesar, Grenier and.

Agree2 Disagree0

You're on a wrong site mate. You should visit Arsenal. com. This is a rumor site or you should make Arsenalfacts. com
Jeez some people.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry, but 'all this speculation' is a result of all of us on sites like this treating transfer like they were done on FIFA.

Just be patient. No one know what's going on behind the scenes even if they claim to.

Wenger's short press conference today said as much.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like this guy. Fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole messi comparison is getting ridiculous. We could say that about Bendtner. Hey, Portsmouth, well give you a great deal on this guy. He's the Danish Messi.

Arsenal will increase their bid for Suarez to £40 million after the £30 million was turned down by Liverpool.

Believable30 Unbelievable31

I think we'll bid around about 35m and that's about as high as wel will go

Agree1 Disagree1

We are struggling to find 23 million for Higuain who to be fair is as good as Suarez and less of a hate figure and yet now we can find 40mil don't won't to p!ss on your cornflakes mate but don't think so

Agree0 Disagree0

We didn't struggle to find 23m for Higuain get your facts straight every newspaper and media outlet was claiming we had agreed a deal and a fee and a medical was imminent. There has been turns in the deal with Madrid openly saying they want to keep him but if a club offers a good price then he'll leave.

40.7m apparently is what we offered for Suarez now.

flamini is set to return to the emirates after 4 years away but only if he apologises to arsene wenger first hand as he has said stuff about him behind his back. heard this from a reliable source in italy ( friend works in the press out there )

Believable7 Unbelievable38

If we can't do better why bother?

Agree1 Disagree0

This is too familiar. The list of players that we are interested in get's longer, but with each passing day the quality drops and now after several weeks of fruitless attempts to bring players in, we are now apparently liked with bringing back Flamini and looking at Barry and El Habsi. Next week, we will be in the market for players like Kevin Davies and Steve Harper! This it a total farce - heads should roll.

Agree2 Disagree0

Wenger does not even care about this rumour, forget about flamini

To the second reply, that's absolutely ridiculous mate. Kevin Davies has already signed for Preston!
;-)

Yeah Right.

Ed, could you tell me what the deal is with Bentdner? Surely if arsenal don't want him can't we terminate his contract? {Ed029's Note - You mean pay him a years wages and let him go for free?}

Believable8 Unbelievable15

Paying out his contract, will make sense, he has not got the ego for arsenal, he is a strain on our wages, get him out as soon as possible.
bring in a good replacement for squad play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get him out on loan again or worse case, let him rot in the reserves and make him do extra training every day!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 10:20:57
Unfortionately bendtner is on an astonishing £55. 000 a week so we would have to pay just shy off £3m to release him so a cheap transfer which is most likely or another loan where a team will pay the majority is the best option i'm affraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we all pretend that his amazing then maybe city would come and buy him for 20milion ha ha

Agree0 Disagree1

Fair play to Bendter, who wouldn't do the same.

Agree1 Disagree0

"Paying out his contract, will make sense, he has not got the ego for arsenal, he is a strain on our wages" - so how is paying out his contract going to save us money? It then doesn't make sense unless we can come to some agreement with him about a reduced payoff.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was good at the euros (is it working man city)

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgot to sign off, cheers ed. Whichever club tries to sign him will come to a conclusion he isn't worth the wages he demands, we cocked up raising his salary to 55k a week

Mdog {Ed027's Note - he has a year left according to Sky, maybe another loan is most likely

Agree0 Disagree0

How can paying off his contract possibly make financial sense? Or any sense? We may as well keep him just in case if we're paying the 55k/week anyway.

If only he was half as good as he thought he was. We might have edged that draw against Barca that time.

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

If he had a run of games for us, he would score 25 a season

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh, as if any of us will willingly take a pay cut, football is a short career. It's ok to kick out a player, but cry foul when a player wants out?

Mofaya

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but how often do players get paid off entirely? Look what we did with Denilson - we gave him 6 months wages up front, that is pretty standard.

The reason we won't terminate his contract is because we quite rightly believe we can get some sort of fee. The problem is he is a first class 'person' and is demanding unrelaistic clauses in contracts. He demanded a 5m euro buy out clause to come into effect after one season at Frankfurt. That screams 'I want to use you as a springboard because obviously I am TGSTEL' and they quite rightly have turned around and told him to shove it. I now genuinely hate Bendtner. Most forwards would keep themselves fit, and act dedicated to the game, when looking for a move, when in his position (i. e not highly in demand). All he's done is plane hop all summer.
