dont know if anyone else read this on arsenal.com
but wenger said we are in the market, and particularly looking for a player in the arteta mould.
who could that type be?
he also said theyve got their targets and been watching and analysing them. sounds positive.
Waq
If we're talking like for like, physically and technically, its most probably biglia
So his looking at second string Spanish players..
My money is on he meant Diaby getting fit again for two weeks.
Actually this is the exact quote: "We are in the market. To find players of a calibre of Arteta, available in January, I wish you good luck. We try very hard, believe me. We have a team around me who analyse everything. We select targets, I watch them... But it's difficult to speak about any names."
I really don't know what is the meaning of it: it seems to me not finding an "exceptional" player available for january is going to be the reason Wenger doesnt buy in this window.
Ecuador Gunner
Schweinsteiger?
Wenger always says "we are in the market" problem is, half the stalls are empty by the time we get there.
The watching & analysing should have been done by now. Negotiations should be going on now not is he good enough. All that should have been done. We are no stronger or better than 5 yrs ago. Something is wrong in the management of our club, it needs a major overhaul, but it aint gonna happen & we will be a mid table side by the end of the season sadly.
Sagalout
We hear this every Transfer window, I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.

Knowing Wenger, Arteta will be 'like a new signing' when he comes back from injury.

Copied this text from Sportsmole website, " 18:52 Reports suggest that Yann M'Vila is having a medical with Queens Park Rangers ahead of a £7.9m move to Loftus Road.
Totally guted... Mvila is the guy we need... And he is moving to qpr... Mvila may be temperamental but who cares? Rvp was as well for the first few years at arsenal... And so what...?
Not too bothered - today was a good example of why we need to be sure we have 11 men on the pitch.
What a joke!!
What has become of the gunners when players are choosing the likes of, no offence to them, QPR and Newcastle above us??
No chance of CL next year, little chance of Europa League the way we play.
The teamed with little heart today, except for Jack... But on the whole, we're too lightweight and small to compete against the bigger (literally) teams in the league.
Not such a bad news after all - if proves good in EPL we can get him in July -prize will go down after QPR goes down to the championship.
Him going to QPR it is not a bad think.if proves successful and fit player for EPL his prize will drop when Harry's Team go down to the Championship and then WE will buy him
Obviously its cause Wenger didn't want him. M'Villa was desperate to come to us. Wenger must have better options in mind. Dont freak out guys, Wenger knows what he's doing. He's been in the business for a long time.
"Dont freak out guys, Wenger knows what he's doing"
.. really? can you give an example which would tell us that he knows what he is doing :)
Ash
Ash ... 2 doubles and the invincibles.
"Ash ... 2 doubles and the invincibles." - Yep, and England won the world cup in 1966. Can't live in the past forever mate.
Hardly comparable ... Wenger won 2 doubles etc and it is still Wenger at the helm.
Try comparing like with like instead of the stream of negativity and 'wishing' we were more like mancity/chelski and had a sugar daddy that bought our success.
The point being England were ONCE Champions, Arsenal were ONCE the Invincibles. Holding on to past achievements when nothing has been won in nearly 8 years now is pointless. Of course Wengers still at the helm, at 7 mil a year it's hardly surprising. Please don't mistake disappointment with negativity though mate. I love my Gunners, but I along with many others aren't happy with the current situation. Anger needs to be directed somewhere. Anyway, COYG!

No Remy then, Barton's tweeted he's going to Newcastle. {Ed002's Note - Arsenal made NO approach to Marseille for remy.}
Thank god!
I don't care who we buy but anybody will be better that the rubbish we have!
He turned down QPR first.....its nice to know money is not the be all, end all, to every one.....
So if Remy is worse than, Giroud, Walcott or Podolski why would we buy him . You can fund his wages if you want.
Arsenal shouldn't waste their time with a Newcastle/QPR target. that's like saying we should try to sign their players (even tho they are struggling to stay up this year). Remy isnt good enough to help Arsenal

I have been told by a friend, who usally knows what he is talking about, that Arsenal er keen to go for Stefan Kiessling. We have been interested before (like 09 or something, EDs?) and arsene think he's ready for prl. action.
I have some doubt about whether Leverkusen are willing to sell in jan. but he could be a really good buy! He aint falcao or Messi, but he could really lighten things up for us. Heard anything about it eds?
Aros {Ed002's Note - No.}

Diego Milito to Arsenal? Ed, do you have any info on this?
Btw, nice work, you're #1!
SerbiaGooner {Ed002's Note - Probably not a long term solution. Sorry, I know nothing of it.}

Ed - couple of the sunday papers are running a story that arsenal are in advanced talks with Toulouse for right back Serge Aurier, to replace Sagna.
Any info on whether this could be correct?
cheers, Andy {Ed002's Note - I don't know about "advanced talks" with Arsenal but PSG have enquired. Toulouse have advised Aurier that moving now to sit on the bench might not be best for his career.}
It was mentioned on five live after the match....
Why? When we have a more than capable right back in Jenkinson.

Why don't we enquire about lukaku. He's been getting better and better every week. I can't see him playing regularly for Chelsea.
We tried to get him 18 months ago - but he prefered Chelsea.
I agree he's a fantastic player and there's definitely no room for him at chelsea. But where would he fit into our team?
In the striker position, seen as we don't have a top class one. It's painfully obvious we need a proper proven striker
13 Jan 2013 20:40:31
No chance in heaven will Chelsea sell Lukaku. He was bought for the future and is just 19.
You're kidding right
after Torres inevitably goes, Lukaku will be backup for Ba (or starter over him)

sooooo lucas biglia is a no show to anderlechts turkish training camp, eds could he be wengers 1 target for the holding midfield position? (cheap and also a talented player)
preston gooner
We need a defensive midfielder bad......would be suprised if Wenger didn't sign anyone......we have no one on the bench to come on and change the match....
No-one who can change the match, nah we would because Walcott should be on it, he isn't good enought to start and he pace would be lethal to come on against tired defenders.
12 Jan 2013 23:57:38
Hi ed, what's the latest on lucas Biglia? Apparently is unsettled at anderlecht and isn't go on their tour of turkey, what type of player is he?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Fiorentina and Lazio are amongst the clubs who have enquired after Biglia. Anderlecht rejected an approach from Parma last season but I suspect he could well move this winter with Wolfsburg, AC Milan and Arsenal looking very keen indeed, but there may well be interest from other Italian clubs. He has, on a number of occasions, expressed an interest in playing in Spain but previous interest from Real Madrid seems to have waned; lately his desire is to move to Italy. Anderlecht have found a replacement already.}

Just read that Robert Lewandowski could be making a move to juve is there any chance of us hijacking the move? {Ed002's Note - Are you thinking of Llorente?}
13 Jan 2013 01:21:38
Yohan Cabaye getting back to full fitness. This guy makes Newcastle and France tick. AW is a big admirer, and AW still has a strong pull with French players. Expect a bid of around 10m towards the end of this window if he returns without any repeat injury.

Arsenal will not do anything at this rate!
There was a rumour in the summer, but nothing happend... I will be very very happy too if he come
Worth at least 13m
