Ed002 any truth in us submitting a 16.5 mil bid for Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan?
Thanxxx in advance

{Ed002's Note - A representative of Dortmund is going to be in London over another matter tomorrow or Thursday, before heading to Italy. If Arsenal want to talk to them I am sure they will listen as he has not been playing well and they are happy to cash in.}

What matter ED002?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is a discussion about players with another EPL club.}

i wouldn't mind taking him on loan with an option to buy, Then in summer we either take him if he has done well, or send him back and sign a DM who can boss that role.
If that is available, Dortmund would surely want him playing as-well with a decent loan fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not think that an option at all.}

Are you Malaga in disguise?

Nope! His agent has hinted that he could well be on his way, I think Juve would cash in on him if the price was right (though I'm aware that they rebuffed strong advances from Chelsea in the summer) it's just my hunch if the right player is available I just hope Wenger wants him enough to warrant that kind of money, which I think he's worth and if I had a magic midfield Gooner wand, he'd be who I'd wish for!

Sanogo has gone to palace confirmed. Makes sense. So Wenger fancied Campbell over Sanogo and Podolski - let's hope he gives him some game time

I'm not sure Wenger prefers Campbell over Podolski & Sanogo. I believe he felt Sanogo would benefit from playing regularly in the Premier League, which wouldn't be possible at Arsenal, with Giroud & Welbeck ahead of him. In addition he will want to promote Akom, so he signs a contract extension. In respect of Podolski, he must have misbehaved, as is form towards the end of last season was decent & he was always good for a goal. Campbell has the advantage of being relatively experienced & can play centrally, as well as wide.

Rumours that we are in for Ilkay Gundogan. Having suffered a serious injury and being relatively short, is he the type of defensive midfielder we need? I would far prefer the likes of Carvalho or Schneiderlin.

2 Years ago he was emmense!

Claude Makelele was one of the best DM ever and he was 3ft 6, unfortunately Dungoden looks a shadow of the player he was before his injury

337 - I am not against short players, but we seem to have too many of them. Therefore, a taller player would be preferable.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with you with the height thing, but take a look at gundugans vids from before his injury he was brilliant.

And just to clarify I know makalele wasn't really 3ft 6, he was at least 4ft

{Ed001's Note - from what I am told it is not a lot up front but there are significant add ons, not got specifics though sorry.}

Looks like sanogo is off to palace on loan - good move for him and us I think

Have just read that nasri has admitted that when Manu wanted him, fergie told him to 'go to war with arsenal' to force a move, guess that explains what happened with RVP then.
