Loic Remy in talks, a deal may be made this week for 17 million

Believable13 Unbelievable79

Wud certainly hope so although im nt sure about his injury record!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its never going to happen!

Wenger has brought in Giroud and Podolski as possible replacements for RVP no more forwards will come in.

We will be lucky if we sign 1 more midfielder!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous rumour!

Agree0 Disagree0

As a spurs fan i hope your right

Agree0 Disagree0

It is reported in the press that Remy has a possible heart defect so may not be the best buy but a good goal to game ratio.

Arsenal are interested in Ganso as they believe they have a small chance of getting Belhanda. Only Intrest though, no enquiry. Fee stumbling block.

NW

Believable4 Unbelievable45

I never believe you anymore NW, you dont seem to have any actual real source, just seem to claim what everyone else is saying or guess horribly wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's fine mate. You don't need to believe me.

NW

Him not wanting to play in England will be a bigger stumbling block.

the transfer window's been open 15 dsays and it looks like javier perez is wrong about holtby and suarez's pre contract agreements. {Ed002's Note - Surely not. Does that mean all of the people who took shots at me about it are going to queue up and say sorry? No need of course - just slip some paper money in the box by the door.}

Believable27 Unbelievable9

If you read one of his blog posts a while ago, he explained why we haven't signed them.
Holtby is not coming because of fitness reasons, he cannot play 90 minutes every week.
M.Suarez might still come, but only if he can get a work permit.

Agree0 Disagree0

We already have about 10 players in the squad who cannot play 90 minutes ANY week !

Agree0 Disagree0

Perez has lost credibility is now coming out with excuses.

Luke M

Agree0 Disagree0

To comment above and Javier's post on Holtby, IT'S A LIE! Go look at Holtby's games in the 2nd half of the season, he played a Europa game full 90, a bundesliga game full 90 3 days later, and a game a week like full 90...only reason he didn't get as much time last year was because of Julian Draxler..he doesn't have fitness issues and Javier Perez is full of crap

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair I was dumb enough to believe Perez and doubt you so air enough, I apologise Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest people how much of JP's crap so far has come true and dont start spouting off bout Podolski or Giroud (If Giroud was mentioned by JP not sure as dont read twitter) as these were all well known facts in yhe papers well befor ehe openeds his trap. Enougth said there really. Give the Ed's a break they supply us with more facts and have done over last year and half or so then any account so shush it. End of

Sources tell me that Arsenal have agreed a fee with Santos for Ganso, but wages are becoming a bit of an issue, with other clubs offering significantly more.

Why are Arsenal close to signing Ganso? We Already have Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Song and Rosicky for ACMs..
Please enlighten me :)

Elliott

Believable16 Unbelievable50

Why don't you ask your sources?

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilshere arteta ramsey and song are not acm's thats more than likely why... plus ganso is better ?

Agree0 Disagree0

We aren't signing Ganso.

We just aren't.

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso has already said that he wants to go to AC Milan or Inter,or one of the top spanish clubs, and is not interested in a move to the PL.I think his agent has spread the word,to see if anyone comes in for him.
This does sound very similar to the M'Vila rumours a few weeks ago.
Braintreegooner

Agree0 Disagree0

So we can ditch the overrated liability that is Song. Ramsey had the chance to cement his place as ACM but didn't take it and Rosicky is coming to near the end of his career. An attacking creative central midfielder is priority.

Arteta---Wilshere
------Ganso----

The above midfield trio would be smartest and most technically gifted midfield trio in the league.

Luke M

Agree0 Disagree0

Song is not an attacking mid!

Agree0 Disagree0

^
but song isnt a liability

JW.19

Agree0 Disagree0

Ditch song when last season he was a class above the other midfielders he and RVP had a great connection, hes a must hold on to player.

DD

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso is absolutely brilliant sign him up !!!1

Agree0 Disagree0

There's an interesting article about Ganso on espn's soccernet. Says that he doesn't fair well against agressive pressing and opposition who are good at shrinking spaces.. And that he has had a lot of injury problems. I don't think we're in for him. Although he's probably much cheaper than Oscar, Neymar...

Agree0 Disagree0

Willl not happen, ganso is part owned and arsene would never sign a player who is!! he has stated many times.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sometimes i feel sick with AW and start to hate arsenal because of the stupid policy he pratice but then i realize we should have our principal in live even the principal is hard to swallow.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy who posted this answered his own question?
Rosicky had 1 ok season now its time for him to go! Ramsey had a bad season and is not good enough!
Wilshere will not be fully fit until October! New quality midfielder required!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Signing Ganso would kill Chuks Aneke ;)

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey isnt Arsenal standard, Song and Arteta are more defensive, so a quality player like Ganso would be perfect :D

Agree0 Disagree0

44 unbelievables, is that a record?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso is quality, ...but with all the disappointment I ...NO! ...WE, have endured these past few years, I just can't see him in an Arsenal shirt. Let's hope I'm wrong, eh!

Yann M'Vila and Ganso will be signing with us before the end of the month. also there is a growing belief that van persie is going to to a u turn and sign a new deal. lets hope so if this is the case bring on the new season.

Believable45 Unbelievable55

Wishful thinking and that's coming from an arsenal fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perfect!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt happen, i'd love it to, but if anything we'd be lucky to get one of the other. Personally i hope we get ganso.

Agree0 Disagree0

With a bit of luck. can't see it happening though

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe M'villa but not both......not a Cat in Hell's chance...........

RVP - Going Going Gone - we will cash in $$$$

Usmanov anyone

Jakey

Agree0 Disagree0

"Growing belief" amongst who exactly? Nutters, the educationally sub-normal and those with the rosiest of rose tinted specs I would say. It's time that people stopped living in denial. RVP is going. end of.

The Ganso rumour is really gaining pace with rumours of 30mil.That would be a great signing ,guess we can dream that he changes his mind on life in england, maybe santos could be a key!
paul

Believable11 Unbelievable41

Ganso 30 mill no way mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I would bet my life we wouldn't spend even £25million on one player, let alone £30million. No chance if you ask me. He doesn't wanna play in England, so of he did it would only because he couldn't get a club in Italy or Spain. So big potential there for a homesick flop, or another player that would run down his contract and go to Spain/Italy for a low or no fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

Won't happen

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2012 15:14:09
Serious rumours now that Ganso is high up on Wenger's wishlist, he's apparently the next big thing to come out of Brazil, but will he just do a Wellington. IMO he would became a legend in the red and white shirt, that missing piece of creativity that we have been craving for since the departure of Cesc.

CheetahChad 97

Believable15 Unbelievable36

Espn ran an article 4 days ago..."ganso fallen star" rated at under 10mill...he's had injuries and has not come back the same player!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso is 5 times the player wellington is ,,,,,,,not even comparable!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2012 14:47:08
rumours please
arsenal are in negotiations with juanfran and alvaro negredo. at least one of them should sign as it was reported that a member from spain's euro 2012 winning squad will sign for arsenal on monday. juanfran is a rightback/right midfielder for those that didn't know who he was and would cost around the £8 million mark and striker negredo the £15 million mark.

Believable7 Unbelievable45

Ok, so not a snake, but just a money grabbing headcase, who is holding the club to ransom! I dont care who RVP wants to sign, he can decide all that when he becomes a manager, but for now let Arsene run the team...He aint too shabby you know.

Agree0 Disagree0

RvP is no snake. I reckon 150k a week and the guarantee of a few more marquee signings and we will keep our man, and with that the most potent and diverse strike force in Europe.
The question is...who are the marquee signings because M'vila is looking less and less likely..

Being reported on one Arsenal related site about Ganso:

"Senior scouts are set to run the rule over the left footed player during the forthcoming Olympic games before making their move.

Arsenal have approached Santos, as well as the players' lawyer, but have not yet made an offer"

Believable28 Unbelievable22

Arsenal NEVER make cheeky bids !

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a possibility, he will not play for Santos again, he is moving. His wages are relatively affordable he wanted roughly 80k a week in GBP at Santos which is affordable.

Internacional could be the place if he stays in South America

CT

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Arsenal sign him up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt ganso 55% owned by a 3rd party?

i would have thought we would have steered well clear!

mac {Ed002's Note - DIS.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see us paying what was the rumoured asking price for Ganso last season which was 25-35m. However considering his injury problems of late and how public he has made it that he is determined to leave Santos should of seen that price dropped. I wouldn't rule us out of putting a bid between for 15m-19m.

Luke M

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty certain I read somewhere that his club are demanding his buy clause be met if Ganso is to be sold. I read his buy out clause is something crazy like £45m. Ed do you know if that's true? If it is there's no chance. I dnt see us even spending £30m on him. If this rumour is true I wouldn't expect anything to happen until deals are resolved for Bendtner, Arshavin, Chamakh and Vela which is all taking too long now {Ed002's Note - I would ignore talk of buy out clauses.}

Anyone else think that the reason Tongo Doumbia choosing West Brom over us, is that his former Rennes teammate has already signed for us(Yann M'Vila) meaning he wouldn't get much game time as a DM?
Harry

Believable29 Unbelievable22

How do u know he picked West Brom over us? More likely we were never interested....think it was just the media that claimed arsenal were interested

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with this post. Its a good indication of the possibility of Yann M'Vila signing for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is absolutely no way this player would chose WBA over Arsenal! I understand that M'Vila is on his way...

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2012 10:38:25
Why are we trying to get m'vila when we've already got song? I think songs class.

Believable48 Unbelievable19

So song can push forward more with wilshere and arteta while m'vila sits and protects the back four because song doesn't ant to do that

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you read any posts or even watch arsenal? we want m'villa because song isnt and never will be a defensive minded midfielder. He would be so much better playing in the center as a playmaker kind of player. He's got pretty good eye for a pass

Adam

Agree0 Disagree0

I like song but he's better going forward. Need a DM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Song is a different type of player now. Since cesc and na$ri leaving he has become a more attacking and creative cm.

Agree0 Disagree0

1. our defence badly needs a proper shield
2. song is 2 years away from running his contract down

Agree0 Disagree0

Song has turned into a creator

Agree0 Disagree0

Last year song had to adapt to create goals which previously would have came from samir nasri or cesc fabregas, it was very good of him to add this to his game and in my eyes is the complete midfeilder, can be defensive, as well as creative. However the problem lies when song goes forward no1 was there to protect the back, simply arteta is a poor tackler, and rosicky is rash at tackling, we missed wilshere then as he is very under-rated for his die hard attitude when it comes to getting back for tackles too. the fact arteta and rosicky are simply not up to the job is not song's fault in any way shape or form, he is a brilliant player and in my eyes the closest thing in the game to Viera, we need a new dm, to protect the back 4 when he goes forward, we need his very own gilberto silva, its the truth sadly. I dont mean to put arteta and rosicky down as they were both great for us last year but song was by far our best midfielder and im a little annoyed some 'Gunners' cant see he was in a catch 22 situation either way he'd have been slated and blamed.

Agree0 Disagree0

You got it wrong mate - the team suffered with Arteta out because he was the only one who would cover song...team never wins without arteta and m'villa would give nice 3-an rotation. arteta 2nd mvp!

Agree0 Disagree0

Before I get howled down by Song's vociferous fans, I'll admit some of his through passes that led to goals last season were excellent. However, we've got better and more consistent creative players than him and in his alleged role of defensive midfield he is woeful. if you don't agree just watch him for 90 minutes and count the number of simple short passes that go straight to the opposition. For a DM his ball retention and short passing just isn't good enough. Added to that, his tendency to haul/hack opposition players down on the edge of the box means he gives away too many free kicks in dangerous areas. THAT'S why we're in the market for a world class DM. (I say that more in hope than expectation, because I suspect AW would rather waste his limited transfer kitty on yet more generally attack minded midfielders who don't seem to have a specific position or defined role in the team.)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, your right Song is class but he's far to much of a box to box mid. Not disciplined enough for a consistant DM, which we have lacked for quite some time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Daily Mirror say arsenal are in for Negredo. Expected to leave this summer. Not a bad player but i don't think played well at euros

So apparently we have been offered Afellay for 6m.

Now THAT is a bargain. He can do damage to teams and if I remember rightly he can play anywhere in the midfield, apart from CDM.

Sign him up Arsene, it'll be a steal.

Ed do you have any news about rvp contract and any transfer news about arsenal? {Ed002's Note - I would still like to think he will stay next season but Arsenal do seem to now be looking to alternatives in Lopez and Negredo.)

Believable8 Unbelievable7

14 Jul 2012 09:16:35
OMG , when rvp goes we are not going to use giroud as a replacement we will get alot of money and use that on a possible CM and especially a striker, do u seriously think arrsene wenger would do this again fabregas OUT - arteta IN , nasri OUT benayoun IN,RVP OUT GIROUD IN? no i think we would look for a top player like llorente,gotze ,jovetic and maybe a CM , belhanda or m'villa {Ed002's Note - Adrian Lopez or Negredo.}

Believable17 Unbelievable11

Oh dear this bloke sounds like a complete numpty!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no trust in the board or wenger when it comes to signings. My guess is Wenger will use Giroud, Podolski and Chamakh/Bendtner as rotation for striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri out Gervinho in. Fabregas out Mikel Arteta in. Wilshere injured Benayoun in.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whose to say buying another striker is any less of a gamble than putting Giroud in at the deep end. Would Llorente (25 mil) be a certainty ? I know it would be nice to get a big name, but not essential. Transfer windows still open for a while

Exo

Agree0 Disagree0

You act like Giroud and Podolski aren't very good...

Agree0 Disagree0

Llorente is overated and his goal scoring record isn't that great...he is 27 and can't get a reg place for his country. Giroud and lewandowski are to alike to play alongside each other ...both are out and out pouchers CF's. Higuain, Tevez, Pato, Neymar are the type of strikers needed if RVp goes now

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2012 09:03:43
Apparently Ganso's club is willing to sell and the asking price is £16 million (hard to believe that low). If we have any chance I hope Arsenal throw all the RVP money for him. Would make a great CAM! Im sure United or City or Chelsea will out bid us just so we cant have him...but would hope we have a small chance. But with lucas Moura's club not will to sell him, ill bet United and others will now look at Ganso.

Eds, do Arsenal have any hope, reports r we registered interest in him with his club? {Ed002's Note - See other answers, I have provided an update.}

Believable15 Unbelievable7

£16m sounds about right.Maybe less. He`s young and has potential but he's not the finished article.Seen him play a few times for santos, dont think hes all that, although he would fit into the arsenal mould quite nicely linking up the play

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2012 23:50:26
ok ed any updates on arsenal and ganso reports r saying we are interested i haven't done my home work about him so im asking your opinion on him as a player and do you see if he was in our team we will have a real threat {Ed002's Note - The situation with Ganso remains pretty much unchanged. He will be allowed to leave because Santos cannot get sufficient sponsorship to cover the costs of both him and Neymar. Ganso's preference is for AC Milan, or Barcelona if MIlan cannot facilitate a move. A 40M euro bid from Anzhi Makhachkala was rejected and Ganso made it clear, regardless of the efforts of Roberto Carlos, that his desire is Italy and preference is AC Milan. Milan do not have the money available to pay the full fee for Ganso and I still think may offer a straight exchange for Robinho. Ganso was not keen on a move to England so there remains little chance that something can be done with Chelsea who had previously agreed a fee with Santos but now have Hazard or Arsenal who see the player as an option. If the player becomes interested in a move to England and if he is not priced out of the market, then Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United may wish to place a bid. There is also reported interest from Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester City. As an aside, Luis Alvero Ribeiro made a series of rather bizarre claims about his dream for Ganso (a) becoming part owned by another club who he will join after the Club World Cup (in December); (b) returning to Santos in June 2012 to play in the Olympics as a player of Santos; (c) returning to the other club in January 2013; (d) being sold for $200M in the summer of 2013. The other club is Porto - none of it will come to pass of course.}
