Any interest in Gonzalo Higuain of Napoli and Krychwiack of Sevilla?

{Ed002's Note - PSG may look to Higuain if Cavani is sold and Lacazette are not available to them. Arsenal may yet turn to Higuain as an option but the price may put them off. Do not rule out a move from Bayern Munich if they lose Lewandowski - they have been looking and Ancelotti is an admirer. Conte has told Chelsea he is keen but I suspect Chelsea will be unwilling to pay the asking price. His agent wants an auction involving PSG and Manchester United.

Arsenal has sustained interest in Sevilla's Krychowiak - but he is not the first choice and they will only return to him if they cannot get the player they are looking at. An enquiry from Southampton was rebuffed although the amount of money theu suggested was well below the asking price in any case. Right now no one has made an offer for him according to Sevilla and I suspect he will stay there after signing a new contract with an increased release clause which would reflect the minimum an English club would need to pay. Barcelona and two other sides have also made general enquires. }.

Striker-wise, I can't see us chasing one of the top strikers. We don't appear willing to pay what it takes to sign a Higuain, Lewnadoski or Cavani. We showed our true colours by chasing Vardy for £20m ish.
In respect of Krychowiak, we appear to have sufficient midfield players, unless we are going to sell.

As Ed said in the post I copied further down, vardy is our top choice. If we don't get him, we will look at other options. I'm guessing other options would be Morata, higuain or even benzema, in spite of his off the field antics.

I'm all up for getting vardy. But how on earth can our options be vardy then morata and hiquain. Is Arsene reading that list upside down?

In all seriousness, I'd much prefer vardy to Morata. As for higuain, I'd love him, but itd cost a fortune. I think with vardy wed have more money to spend elsewhere - lower transfer fee to start with, and about 60k a week less in wages. So vardy is about the best option I think, all things considered. Though granted if they were both 20 mill and 120k a week I'd go for higuain.

Ed was wanting to know what the deal with Kante is? I mean who is actually interested and who are the ones most likely to come up with a deal and do Barcelona or even Real hold interest? Or will he stay at Leicester for another season and may well sign another contract? I ask because it's very intriguing how every big team in the prem has been linked with him and others through out Europe.

{Ed002's Note - Leicester's N'Golo Kante performances this season have attracted the attention of a number of sides not least Juventus, Chelsea, PSG and Arsenal. Although they will offer a new contract and would like to keep him, Leicester will be willing to sell on a couple of conditions and it will be Arsenal and Chelsea who will look to see if a deal can be brokered early in the transfer window - but it will be PSG that will be the most attractive of these clubs for the player and if they put an offer on the table that is acceptable to the club - and then they will have an advantage. Last summer Kante was on the verge of joining Marseille after rejecting the interest of West Ham and Rennes when Claudio Ranieri intervened, telling Caen their price would be met and taking the player on a guided tour of the Leicester City ground and training facilities. Anecdotally Shakhtar Donetsk approached Boulogne about taking Kante as a replacement for Fernandinho but Kante decided his future was in the French second division with Caen. }.

{Ed002's Note - Morata remains of serious interest to Real Madrid who would like to re-sign the player (possibly for the purposes of resale or exchange) but Juventus are looking for a way to keep him unless a replacement is found - Berardi being one possibility and Batshuayi another - although a previous agreement is now very much up in the air. There is also interest in him from Chelsea and Arsenal in London (although he is not first choice for Arsenal) and from Dortmund - who Real Madrid hope are open to a deal involving Aubameyang - again something that is very much up in the air again. Morata would certainly be be open to staying in Turin but know that they Juventus would need to discuss the buy back clause with Real Madrid and extend it if necessary. Interest of Manchester United would be dependent on a number of factors but cannot be discounted. }.

Hi Ed's,

Sorry to bring up an 'old' topic, but has there been any news on Vardy?

It seems strange to me that Ranieri has been so vocal about it, coming out in the press yesterday for example.

Also, do you know of any moves for any defenders that are likely to come to fruition?

Wolves would like to sign him and there is a bit of other interest as well, but I am told he wants to discuss his options with the manager before making a final decision to go. I assume he wants to see if the two ahead of him are likely to leave first.}
