I have never liked the idea of odemwingie but after seeing a few of his performances this year, i think he would be a great cheap signing. he has great control of the ball, a good finisher and good in the air. I
think in a stronger team he would cause opposition no end of trouble.
Lets face it im sure most of you would prefer him to the likes of bendtner, chamack, vela, park etc

Believable19 Unbelievable36

Defoe?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yakubu

Agree0 Disagree0

Steven fletcher?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather have heskey myself than odemwignie

Agree0 Disagree0

Odemwingie's a good striker, I wouldn't mind if he was here at all. I certainly wouldn't want Stephen Fletcher over him haha, what a crazy suggestion,t here's simply no comparison between the two. That's like comparing Park and RVP.
Defoe I would take in a flash, he's got 17 goals this season!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't take Odemwhingie over Bendtner right now. Bendtners been in the form of his life at Sunderland.

In Arsene I Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Form of his life at Sunderland? Are you kidding? He's been woeful for a lot of the season although he has improved, I still think he looked and played way better for us than he ever has with them. I'd argue that the calibre of his goals and assists backs that up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner is a player who will never flourish under Wenger because of his innate distrust of crossing and direct passing. Besides, in order to bring more quality to midfield and defense salable assets like Bendtner and Vela have to go to soothe AW's budget compulsion and make room in the squad. Both are in form and neither are able to sync consistently in a possession-heavy team, making them the most likely to generate profit from sales.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance, why on earth would we go in for that kind of striker when we've got Vela coming back? He's had an absolute blinder over the last two months, top scorer in La Liga for 2012 other than Ronaldo and Messi! Odemwingie? Good one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vela don't want an arsenal return. he doesn't want to play for us. and our league obviously doesn't suit him so stop with the vela rubbish

Ed, how did BVB managed to win titles in Germany with a small budget compared to Bayern Munich? Can we learn something from them??

Can Gooner {Ed002's Note - It is their youth system that works real well.}

Believable32 Unbelievable3

People forget that they nearly fell out of existence not that long ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Their players want to win. they are not far away if they keep their top dogs. gotze has signed an extension and stated he wants to win things with BVB or atleast try take them to another level.

that shows how the club are keeping the core and adding talent like reus..

kagawa may leave but they added reus already and dont forget they got gotze. minor back up issues and they will be in the thick of it.

we need to add key talent this summer. podolski is one...

i do hope another 2 more key players will join.

I am not sure about wilshere in the CAM role but hes a natural football talent so i cant see the harm in him trying and hes a fighter.

having mvila and song behind him will be some sort of a blessing...3 tough players in the middle with pace on the wings and a lethal finisher upfront...its left to see what wenger does.

however i am hearing that Song is wanted by juventus and he is considering it as his dream has been to play in italy...does anyone know if this is true?

Agree0 Disagree0

Pressing. Irrational pressing. Like starving wolves. Also, some very quality scouting to dig up options after being pillaged every year - kagawa, gundogan, and perisic come to mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2012 16:12:39
Why do people want to see M'vila bought? We have Song who is class, Frimpong coming through, Arteta another, plus Landsbury can play that roll. We need one striker, a right winger and a versatile defensive player. I'd love Sahko, Krasic and Torres. I think Chelsea might be tempted by 15-20M for Torres. Selling off deadwood and pointless squad players shoud free up the places and wages. As i have previously stated we need to reduce squad size to compete. Bring in them 3 and sell the 15 we can all name easily.

Paul

Believable11 Unbelievable47

We need backup

Agree0 Disagree0

We have chamberlain, in my opinion already the best english right winger, as well as gervinho and walcott. if we needed a winger it'd be on the left, not the right. but even then, we have podolski who can play there and santos. We more urgently need an attacking midfielder along with a centre back, left back and defensive midfielder who actually stays in his position.

i don't know why wenger missed out on the likes of pienaar(before he went to spurs) ben arfa, kompany, de jong, yaya toure(years ago before barcelona) etc etc. those would have been good value for money who could have won us trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mvila is going to be one of the best about mate, passing is great can move it on short or find a long ball with ease. he is also a great tackler who doesnt concede loads of fouls and has great dicipline to stay in position.

Defiantly the type of player we need, be crazy not to want him at our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because song isnt disciplined enough to sit back. he is becoming a more efficient as a box to box midfielder. arteta is more like a xavi, he does sit back, but he aint no tackler and he is much more useful further, i feel that his vision and shooting ability was wasted this season by playing him deeper.
we definately need a quality CAM, and versatile def, although with podolski signed and hopefully campbell gettin a work permit we should be ok for a STs, but another good one would be nice.
Waq

Agree0 Disagree0

And torres' wages wouldn't be a problem

BgdGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure Torres would like the idea of joining a team with the golden boot winner (if he stays), and a seasoned German international....
It is the midfield defence that needs most attention.
Don't think we are short of goals.

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

The players youve mentioned arent good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres no way i want him at arsenal plus his wage and fee are 2 big

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take M'villa over Song who is extremely overrated and has been a liability this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank god youre not manager paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Frimpong has all the discipline of a rabid dog and Lansbury is most likely moving on as he is a versatile mediocrity. M'vila is the top class specialist we desperately need to apply structure to our midfield and I genuinely pin my hopes on his signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Defensive midfielders are the issue here for sure.

With a midfield of Song M'V and Wiltshire the balance will be correct. MV is both versatile (can play multiple defensive positions) and disciplined. Playing him where Song has been playing this season will free up Song to play a more creative attacking role, something he does extremely well (stats will bare this out) and with Wiltshire as the linking player, this formation will be tough and pretty at the same time.

Admittedly Frimpong is a bit wild at the moment, but hopefully he will settle into the role and be the logical back up for MV and with Lansbury as backup for Song, Song could also take on this role again. Arteta/Wiltshire/Ramsey as the third position.

I hope this makes clear that it is either MV or Jan V not both and that realistically this will complete the necessary signings for the summer (plus of course RVP resigned)

Great achievement Arsenal! To finish 3rd after a roller-coaster season, it's really impressive!

Arsenal will buy 2 maximum 3 players.

1. Versatile defender/CDM (possibly Vertonghen or M'Vila, I doubt both)
2. Second striker depending on strikers from the club moving (my bet - Matias Suarez)
3.Creative midfielder (ideally - Goetze, Ganso, possibly - Kagawa,Dzagoev, Shaktar ACM's, Gourcouff).

Other buys will depend on players leaving.

Romanian Gooner

Believable26 Unbelievable21

Does anyone else know that dzagoev's contract runs out in december? maybe we could offer a small amount for him and if that fails then get him on a free transfer in january.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kalou and belhanda look like more likely options right?
1732 {Ed002's Note - They want 30M euros for Belhanda.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Really?
I had absolutely no clue. wow I'm shocked all this time i've valued him at less than 10M(that's what transfermarkt valued him at )
feel stupid now! We might as well go for m'vila.Oh well thanks ed :)
1732

Agree0 Disagree0

Dzagoev seems like a steal. He looks quick and intelligent, but Russian players seem to have pretty rough rides leaving home so I don't know if anyone in the Premier League will take a punt on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2012 15:32:41
Might be contraversial, but does anyone else think that unless we play a different formation, Robin van persie doesnt have a place in our team SHOULD we buy a new top quality no 9 striker. People mention giroud, but what your saying is buy giroud and stick him on the bench till rvp is tired....do you think giroud would be interested in doing it? And on the dramatic end of the fairytale spectrum, people want benzema...but where does benzema play, if robin is on the pitch? And im saying this because in my own opinion, robin van persie does not have the pace, or the stamina (these days) to play in any position OTHER than his new lone front man role - where lets be honest, you dont see much of him unless we have the ball in the opponents half.

Believable21 Unbelievable13

Pace or stamina to play in any other position than up front by himslef? Are you taking the mick? Playing up top by himslef is a lot more demanding than playing on the wing or in an advanced midfiled position. Controversial isnt the word for yor post...nonsense is more apt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Berkamp was a chap that didn't have pace and worked in the hole behind the front man. Seemed to do him no harm.
Robin can fulfill that role nicely if required. RVP on the right sat behind podolski coming from the left upfront, alternating who's uptop. I can see a few goals.
The problem as I see it, is that RVP needs game time to get sharp, and without it he loses a yard and looks susceptible to getting injured and then the bad cycle starts up again that he has faced over the past 7/8 seasons. So resting RVP is not a good thing.(Within reason of course)
Picking up on another point, RVP this season has been all over the pitch a little more than you might think. He has done his fair share of tracking back. He has scored 37 goals and assisted 14 times. He is not the archetypal goal sitting poacher. He makes runs from deep, creates space, collects from deep etc. I would say he is the complete forward player (this season). Podolski is again not a number 9 as such, he strikes me as a player who takes up similar positions to Henry, coming in from the left. But with an equally lethal left peg as RVP.
I don't think we need Giroud or Benzema. I think we need a quality CAM player along with a proper holding mid. Wilshere's injury worries me and keeping him fit will be a tight-rope job.
RVP and Podolski to start together in a 4-4-2. RVP play upfront on his own with current system.

4-5-1

Szczęsny
Sagna Kos Verm Gibbs
Arteta
Walcott Song Wilshire Gerv/Ox/Poldi
RVP

4-4-2
Szczęsny
Sagna Kos Verm Gibbs
Walcott Song Wilshere Gerv/Ox
RVP
Podolski

I have only included parties who are at the club. I have just put a couple of alternatives on the left to show that Poldi can fit in there if required.

I for one am excited. As long as RVP signs on the dotted line.

No M'Villa as no idea if that is happening or not...

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

What a poor team you are looking at, third would be a step too far, no progress wanted by you then, we would not challenge for anything, are you a Spurs fan or just mental ?

Laddy N

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous post Van Persie has been our shining light and he would have an argument to have a place in any team in the world. 100% must start next season for so many reasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

4231 is the key, however it depends on who we get if we get a CDM then 4231 would work however, if we get an attacking minded player then 4-3-3 would be better as I don't want to see wilshere dropping back into cdm.
1732

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny that, because Robin is the striker with the most tackles and interceptions in his own half this season I recall...His work rate and movement is second to none, so his pace is not an issue, it hardly has been this season!

Agree0 Disagree0

I assume Laddy N that you are not referring to the teams I put forward... as these are likely and not Football Manager dream teams.
If you are then you need to appreciate that we do not live in 'Man-City-land', we have Wenger as a manager, Wilshere is coming back (one of the top midfielders in the country ahead of his injury), RVP was the Golden boot winner is in the team (if he stays), Walcott providing 11 goals and 13 assists, Oxlade-Chamberlain, a player who is already being talked about as one of the best talents in England, Song improving with every season, Kos and Verm when playing forming a good understanding, Sagna consistently one of the top two right backs in the country, Gibbs, his 3rd spot saving tackle on the last day speaks volumes (admittedly injury prone), Gervinho important second season about to arrive...need I go on? The only player that I would want anywhere near the team is Goetze (not going to happen), M'Villa, questionable temperament off the pitch, and that is about it. Some people have got to get real. Those two teams would cause problems for anyone. It is about shoring up the midfield to protect the back four. I suspect with Wilshire back, the focus will be alot more on ball retention in midfield with a good degree more forward momentum.
If you weren't referring to my post/teams then I apologize.
If you were, then please furnish us all with this Uber team you have up your sleeve for beating everyone, that is realistic? Obviously you will have already worked out that you don't want to bench players that are improving season on season, and have a work around on the new financial fair play rules coming into effect?
I work on facts, which, I think you'll find does not make me mental at all. As for being a Spurs fan, YOU may as well be if you don't get behind and support the team you currently have....

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

Its gotze, not goetze. And good post, its very unrealistic for us to expect arsenal will sign anyone who costs more podolski has cost us..so lets get over it, and HOPE that diaby and co will be fit and healthy next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont even know what youre talking about

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate to be picky...and hate myself for doing this...but, it is Goetze without the umlaut, and Gotze with, but don't have an umlaut on the keyboard, hence Goetze.
Appreciate that there is someone else in the real world with though!

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

Been thinking about this for a while and I don't understand where we'd fit another striker unless we change our formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remarkably this post has more agrees than disagrees, please tell me this is other fans spamming our page and you fickle fans have not forgotten all he done for us already?
BR

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny that when adebayor and RVP were both inconsistent, RVP seemed like the luxury player of the two, but now that he's arguably among the 3 best pure strikers in the world, someone is still arguing that he's a luxury. Being over reliant on a player who is absurdly in form is only bad if you lose them to form or injury. Go ask Milan if they want to offload Ibra to gain more balance and make space for their glut of self-obsessed flair players.

Agree0 Disagree0

The original post asks if we really need to buy a new striker, where will he play? It doesnt say that we should sell robin van persie and buy a new striker. Perhaps the agrees have been given by people who actually read the post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please don't make ridiculous comments about RVP, the biggest proble is our defense, need cover in cb position and need a LB as gibbs is far too attacking and making one saving challenge doesn't make him good enough for a side trying to challenge for the title

Am I correct in saying that inter and napoli didn't make champs league..ED'S Any chance off getting any players off them who are looking for champs league football I feel there could be a couple that would be tempted...what's your thoughts
LONDON GOONER {Ed002's Note - I think there is little or no chance of Arsene Wenger buying players he has no interest in to give them Champions League football.}

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Its a good post london gooner, but Ed 002 is correct. lavezzi..cavani...maicon...hamsik...there are a lot of amazing players in both of those teams, but they are too expensive for us to buy. They definitely want CL football, but they want CL football AND 150k+ a week. Shame its all about the money eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree good post, there must be players ther like the above has mentioned that are worth a look :)

Agree0 Disagree0

On the off chance that AW is paying any attention, Inler would be a beautiful robbery. I feel like Wenger wouldn't rate Gargano, unfortunately. Or, in fantasyland, Maggio would be an incredible signing. I think realistically Inter are not going to lose anyone they don't want to throw under the bus.

with Villarreal relgated think we should try and get Nilmar or Giuseppe Rossi as second striker if rvp stays hes going to be tired at beginning of the season..............m'villa will be an amazing to see him at arsenal......Vertoghen to help with our defence and get rid of the dead wood....but hope aw does not send ryo on loan again {Ed002's Note - Giuseppe Rossi is out injured for perhaps 9 months. Nilmar is likely to move to Roma, Galatasary, Fiorentina or his favoured Sao Paulo.}

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Giuseppe Rossi is out for a long time with a knee injury I think - so I don't know what he is going to do since he is far better than the Spanish Second Division but he probably won't get bought since he will be injured for all of next season.

Even if he wasn't injured I think he would prefer a move to Italy or within Spain.

Ed i seen tat sakho of PSG isnt getting playing anymore is there any chance arsenal could get him? also what you think our chances of getting Mvila, Olivier Giroud and Hazard are?
Young Gunner :D {Ed002's Note - Arsenal have consdered Sakho in the past - but there is growing interest from Inter Milan and possible interest remaining from Real Madrid. Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all shown a determined interest in M'Vila and perhaps PSG will become interested as well. However, he remains there for the taking of Arsenal should they make an offer that is acceptable to Rennes. It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and particularly Malaga show an interest. At one point Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros or so in the summer as it will be tough for Montpellier to persuade him to stay. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Arsenal and probably Liverpool - Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpellier about Giroud who has let it be known that he has spoken with Ribery about a move to Bayern Munich. The player has also declared an interest in a move to Italy, Germany and now England. I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor even Lyon. My views on a move for Hazard to Arsenal remain as they were.}

Ed,

What are the chances of these players moving on?

Almunia, Squillaci, Diaby, Chamakh, Park, Gervinho, Bendtner, Vela, Denilson, Mertesacker, Djourou, Rosicky, Arshavin

Besides the usual suspects (Bartley, Miquel, Miyachi, Lansbury, Frimpong, Coquelin, Aneke, Afobe, Campbell), any idea as to who could come up through the ranks.

I ask these questions as I feel they will have a direct impact on our transfer activities. {Ed002's Note - I can't answer this but no doubt other will have some thoughts.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

I cant see rosicky or mertesacker being moved on , Almunia is out of contract and has been told he will be released

Agree0 Disagree0

Where's Miss Arsenal when you need her?

Agree0 Disagree0

Gervinho, mertesacker and rosicky will stay as wenger won't sell players he just bought and rosicky signed a contract extension

Agree0 Disagree0

There are some good players who want to play for Arsenal in your list. Don't be too quick to condemn them. Replacing them would be difficult and expensive. I agree with about 5-6 of the list.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thomas Eisfeld, Hector Bellerin and Serge Gnabry all look good - might still be a bit early for them though!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lansbury and bartley are so s**t, stop talking about them

Agree0 Disagree0

This is just my take on the situation but I can see Diaby, Rosicky, Gerv, Mert and Djourou all staying.

It's been said that Arsh will be on his way for £6m. Vela wants to stay in Spain. I think Bendtner will be sold but maybe for less than we want.Park I can't tell. I just don't see how we bought him and occupied a squad space for an entire year without even loaning him because Arsene wants to beef him up and use him a year later...I just don't buy that. I don't understand why he was signed so couldn't possibly try and judge what he will be used for!
Almunia, Squid, Chamakh, Denilson I think will all go for peanuts.
I think all the youth will stay. We'll see Coq more and more, but maybe he'll be loaned if we bring in M'Vila or someone. I can see the rest breaking the first team over the course of the season.

Yep, I will re-iterate the above poster and say thanks to the ED's who have governed this page throughout the season. 14 May 2012 13:39:14
Buy M'Vila, Eriksen and Giroud.

(Giroud ays he doesnt want to make a money-centric move and wants a team that will help him develop. Wants the Premier League.)

Sell Bendtner, Vela, Chamakh, Squillaci, Denilson and Lansbury, Wellington Silva etc.

(Lansbury wants to move as he's being loaned out since 4 seasons. He's 21. Won't be able to break into the first team. Hence..)

Promote Ozyakup, Afobe, Bartley.

Get Joel Campbell a f**king permit.

That'll be all Mr.Wenger. :)

P.S - Atleast one big signing. I know I cant expect much.

ATP 9

Believable18 Unbelievable8

ATP9 - Agree wholeheartedly. We need M'Vila to provide strong cover in front of the back four and to allow Song to roam. We need a creative spark in attacking midfield and Rosicky, Ramsey and even Wilshere are not the answer. Ericksen or kagawa would go a long way in plugging the hole left by Cesc. We certainly need some replacements in the attacking area and we could use a classic, tall, strong #9 like Giroud as we are often to one dimensional and unable to break teams down when the 'park the bus'.

If you notice in the last minutes of ManCity's win against QPR, they brought in Dzeko who changed their attack considerably by allowing more crosses to be delivered into the six yard box. We also need someone who can give us an alternate mode of attack and Chamakh and the other forwards (i.e. Park, Bendtner, Vela) simply don't have the ability.

I hope Wenger spends some money this summer in a well thought out way rather that the rushed manner of the last transfer window. Our defense is extremely fragile and needs to be upgraded. We have insufficient creative spark in our midfield and this needs to be addressed. And we need to alleviate our over reliance on van Persie for goals by bringing in a true #9.

I am pleased we got 3rd place after such a roller coaster season but would prefer that we strengthened so that we don't find ourselves in the same place again for 2012-2013. Man City will strengthen. Man United will strengthen. Chelsea is going to spend some serious dough and even the Spurs are going to add to a very strong starting 11. We need to get moving also.

Gunner for Life - ShayGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen Bartley in Scotland all season. Think Squillaci without the skill!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm afraid I don't agree with the original poster on either Lansbury or Silva.

Lansbury is an U-21 England International with a goal scoring record not to be sniffed at, who links very well with Oxlade-Chamberlain. He could make the step up, and could be a very useful squad player with the new regs coming into force. He has now had some very useful experience in relegation/promotion dogfights, this is invaluable. Don't write him off. I doubt Wenger wants to let him go, if he (Lansbury) does go it will be of his own accord (my thoughts).

As for for Wellington Silva, do not underestimate this lad's talent. His mentality was one of someone relying too much on their 'God given talent' and not relying on hard work to push on in their development. Since leaving Levante and joining Alcoyano he is progressing, and is starting to find the net. This chap is a special talent who needs to be nurtured. I think it has to be said that he left Brasil a little too young and can only benefit from being under tutelage of Wenger as soon as possible.
Remember a certain RVP coming to the club as a talented chap with an attitude that sucked, sound familiar? I say give Wellington a chance to develop, and we might be pleasantly suprised. Hopefully see him in Pre-season.

I do however, agree on letting the others go.

Kermit79

Agree0 Disagree0

About Lansbury,
He has talent and no ego. He has worked hard to make the team and at least deserves a season's chance. More importantly, and without sentimentality, he has improved every year and that desire to work hard to win is somethign we need more of. It's how Benayoun scored yesterday. So, give him a chance. W ecan always sell him next year. Frankly, he can't be worse than Gervinho, and if he is, at least he has a better haircut.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it's Wenger decision on whether campbell gets a work permit

Hoilett

I don't buy the hype around N'Zonzi, the lad's a liability and he's so lazy, he plasy with this slow arrogance like he doesn't really understand the stage he's playing on and I have never seen the attraction to him!

Olsson is one I'd go for, he's been touted as Chelsea's successor to Ashley Cole so that has to be saying something.

I agree Ward is pants. Jarvis, though, Jarvis I would take in the squad for sure. i wouldnt have done this time a year ago as the thought of having a Wolves player in our team just seems strange, it's like putting a teaspoon of salt in your tea ad far as I'm concerned. But he is a good player and would thrive at a better club. Wolves were so bad that their one or two decent players were just wasted.

Bogdan - ok, I watched him a bit last season, and thought 'Wow, what an under-rated player!' and this season has only added to that. I think he could quite easily do a Tim Krul and I would love t if he came here, my only concern is that I think AW might want an older head to be back up and nurture Szcz at the same time, doubt Bogdan would be that guy but like I say would be great if he came. I can't see better keepers joining us from the prem. Ruddy, Vorm, Krul, Al Habsi, all trying to build something special with their clubs and don't want to sit on anyone's bench.

The rumour up in Manchester is Rooney wants out.

Not suggesting for one minute we go for him.

Believable13 Unbelievable20

Hmmm wasnt there a rumour Man u were keen on rvp? Rvp to replace rooney?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see Rooney at any other club tbh,
Van Persie and Rooney would be the best strike partnership in the world though...
Nick.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good Cause Hes So Overated And He wins Things Nearly Every Year Why Would He Come To Us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Prob man city fans making that up...no way he leaves utd with the season hes had.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney can play for our reserves. He wouldnt break into the first team anyway. :P

Agree0 Disagree0

If I were Mancini I would bid £30M and offer him £250K a week just to cause trouble and see what reaction it would get. Bet Rooney would think about it ...

Agree0 Disagree0

The way he picks racehorses, he'll need far more than £258K per week. And watch him against proper defences at Euro 2012 and see if he's still wonderful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney is shocking for england. He averages something like 3 goals a year over 9 years - definitely wouldnt get a better team than utd. Maybe he'd move back to merseyside though..

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish Rooney would walk into most teams around the world. You need to remember that Messi is rubbish for Argentina cause the way they play doesn't suit him.

Buzzing about yesterday! Done it the hard way but done it none the less!, couple of interesting rumours flying about, wouldn't mind seeing a solid right back coming in as back up to sags specially as he is what 29 now. Personally think wenger will spend this summer and early so that he dot get caught up in inflated euro2012 prices. M'villa is a good one to get done early as was poldi, vertonghan isn't going so thats no rush same with any south Americans etc we might bring in, would love to see a solid gk as backup/mentor to szescny maybe given? And if not vertonghan I like adil Rami a lot from Valencia! Excited to see what happens this summer Podolski signing is a good look from us

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Would love to see m'villa here and a decent defender then i think all we need is a creative mid

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah definately, wouldnt mind ayew from marseille he can do abit centrally and on the wing

Does anybody else have this feeling that Diaby will have an injury-free season like Van Persie and show us what he is made of? (touch wood)

That Wenger will be proved right by sticking by him and that all these 'Diaby faithful's will come out saying 'i told you so?'

I think next season is the final cut for Diaby. He is an amazing player when fit, just like Van Persie.

Lets hope he can have an injury free season and show us what he can do for Arsenal.

Nick.

Believable27 Unbelievable11

I was willing to give him this season as his chance to show us his talent but its been a complete write off this season due to his injuries. But next season should be his final chance to play to his potential and to stay fit. I've always believed in his talent but enough is enough he is to make Wenger's faith in him count next season.

I always thought Diaby is our own version of Yaya Toure

Agree0 Disagree0

If we can get rid of him we just have to, he;s wasting a spot in the team and we still don't know what kind of role he has in our midfield.
he joined us 6 years 6 months ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Want to press believable 100 times

Agree0 Disagree0

He will not stay fit = 100 % for sure, he has been at AFC for nearly SEVEN years, it is not a recent problem all these injuries, we HAVE to sell him, if anybody wants him, remember he is on between 50 & 60 K per week, who is gonna buy a player and pay his wages when he has only played 120 games in nearly SEVEN YEARS - he has to go - sorry Abu.

Laddy N

Agree0 Disagree0

That is so true!! He is young and tall and good at skipping past people with ease...Who knows he could be one of the things we have missed

-J

Agree0 Disagree0

Diaby is total crap...not even worth the arsenal bench

Agree0 Disagree0

We only have 25 squad places and I don't see how he benefits us more than an option we could buy cheap and pay the same amount. His injury record, his inconsistency and his awful concentration make him just the kind of risk that costs teams when the margins are fine. I'd take his space for a clint dempsey or a dzagoev or a marvin martin, any kind of option on the cheap. Granted, dempsey's not so cheap anymore.

After my hangover died down a bit i got to thinking who we need to challenge for the title next year, IMO we need a few signings, to not only improve the first team but ALSO the bench, the likes of chamackh? Ramsey, Squid etc etc doesnt fill me with much confidence..... So id personally go for:

GK - Sorenson
DEF - Mbiwa
CDM - Biglia/Mvilla
MID - Diego
ATT - Suarez

Obviously we need to offload, who knows one or two may have a decent Euro championship and we might get a few quid more for them, but with these players not only will they slot in the first team but also dramatically improve the bench

According to Dutch Media Verthongen visited spurs - Fullham game and had a stadium tour at white hart lane.

Believable17 Unbelievable7

The problem is that he knows he wont just walk into our starting 11 & wants to play every week, prob at C-back, & that just aaint happenin with Kos & TV5 in place. So he has to go to spuds to make sure he gets plenty of game time.

Hazard
M'Villa
vertonghen
Podolski
Benayoun

Get this Arsene and you will exceed all my expectations

Believable14 Unbelievable11

We have Podolski already so were of to a good start

Agree0 Disagree0

You've also pretty much completed the signing of M'Villa to that will be 2 out of the 5 done before transfer window opens Benayoun you will get as well quite comfortably will only be hazard and vertonghen that will take more convincing than the others to sign

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard will go to one of the Manchester clubs, not sure which. He strikes me as a narsri like person (greedy, selfish).
I think Gotze would be a better signing. And I dont agree with signing yossi. He's 30 and let face it not an amazing Player. We need class. We need to replace the world class players we lost last season.

Yann M'villa
Gotze
Podoliski (already signed)

Then get rid of the rubbish eg bendtner and use our young talent as back up.

Ins:
Jan Vertonghen
Yann M'Vila
Andre Shurrle

Outs:
General deadwood, possibly rosicky and the traditional loanees.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Forgot Podolski

Agree0 Disagree0

Rosicky has been one of our best and just signed an extension. Not going anywhere. No chance of Shurrle coming

Agree0 Disagree0

Rosicky is NOT deadwood, he's had one of his best ever seasons for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

It does worry me that Rosicky only played well around the time he signed and extension to his contract
