{Ed002's Note - I am afraid that there is no one here who is willing to help the Arsenal page with such information any longer.}

15 Apr 2016 20:46:57
I've noticed that ed002 it's not just you that seems to have stopped answering. Obviously you all have your reasons as its a shame as I for one appreciated your insight. Wish there was a way to solve all this as I used to love coming on this site now I'm finding myself a less frequent visited due to everything that has happened. Btw I'm Fully aware why you stopped answering and understand its just a shame for others that have done nothing wrong.

{Ed002's Note - As you say a great pity.}

I've been a regular visitor of this site for years now and never understood why would the edds get so upset from the abuse they get from some individuals, this is the internet you will always have keyboard warriors. And the regular posters and visitors get punished. You can always just ignore those individuals or ban them. I am not visiting that often lately, and surely I'm not the only one, because of that reason. I don't get it you are just doing harm to your own website. I am thankful for the all the information you've provided through these years, you've really done a great job, but now i feel like we've been treated unfairly.

{Ed002's Note - It is hardly my fault that there are Arsenal posters who want to really screw it up for the rest of you - blame them and not me.}

15 Apr 2016 22:39:22
Bgdgooner is right. It's just a pain that some people have ruined it for us. And whoever they are I do blame them. Anyway seems your mind is made up ed002 however I hope that changes by the summer and on behalf of many decent Arsenal fans thank you for the free work end effort you put in before for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Thanks but it has been made abundantly clear to me that there is no useful information that I can provide the Arsenal supporters - so I won't be bothering.}

15 Apr 2016 22:59:11
Can we not ban those that challenge you.

Question is. what is the point of this of this webpage (which i like to be honest) if ed's are being little kids and not answering questions? not sure what has happened but this is childish.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So your suggestion - after changing you name of course - is to remove the web page entirely? I guess that can be arranged.}

15 Apr 2016 23:28:30
My suggestion of removing those that think they know it all is a better option. Love the page and look forward to eds opinion but could do without the kids thinking they know more.

I've been banned already.

{Ed033's Note - This web site was created for people to talk about Arsenal Football Club, it wasn't created for people to ask Eds questions.

17 Apr 2016 03:16:47
I must admit that I am surprised that the Ed's are so sensitive to criticisms they receive. As long as people are not offensive, it's part of football banter. Indeed Ed's will rarely, if ever be correct in the comments they make regarding transfers as Wenger continues to surprise us. Did any Ed's forecast the signing of Elneny, before it was reported in the press? What is the role of the Eds? Is it to regulate content or to comment? If it is to comment, then fans have the right to contest any comments they make, as they do amongst themselves.
Yes, some of the comments made by fans are disrespectful, often poorly written, show little understanding of football or are simply absurd. The severe criticism of Wenger and wanting him out are evidence of this, Yes, we all get frustrated with him, but to suggest that a man with his record is a poor manager is absurd and if he leaves don't be surprised if he picks up a top job at the likes of PSG. Real, etc. He is far from past his sell by date and I would expect him to manage at club level until he picks up the French national job.

{Ed001's Note - you only see the posts we allow through. Go look at any Twitter feed and the abuse that is constantly posted up of anyone who shares anything and you will get an idea of how much crap we have to sift through. It is alright for you to whine like bitches about anything and everything, but we are expected to just smile and ignore when we are constantly being abused and then have sanctimonious people like you tell us how we are doing it all wrong.}

17 Apr 2016 06:46:51
Hi Ed001 - I don't use Twitter, for exactly the reasons you say. Quite frankly, I fail to understand the attraction of Twitter. The point of being an editor, is to edit what people say. I am sure after a brief read you realise that an abusive comment is being made. The answer is simply to bin it and if it is sufficiently abusive, using bad language, racist comments etc, than ban the culprit.
I have had a run in with one Ed, who I won't name, over Wenger's possible departure. I disagreed with his comments and merely explained why. He became increasingly personal as I believe he was angered by the accuracy of my comments, which showed his to be wrong. So it works both ways. Indeed you have done similar, by calling me sanctimonious for simply stating my opinion in a respectful manner.
I appreciate the job you guys do, but fail to understand why you are taking the stance you are currently doing, One Ed in particular despite stating that he isn't commenting any longer, keeps making comments in order to make his point and in his eyes punish the people that made the comments, Remember as well as needing editors, you need people to comment and fans are able to release steam, often with inane comments, but we are passionate beings, I myself admit to sacking Wenger in the aftermath of a poor result and making it known! In the cold light of day, I realise he is a top manager and will be a hard act to follow. So ignore the morons and enjoy the banter with us fans, allowing for the odd aggressive or poorly thought out comment. The truly offensive fans must, of course, be dealt with. Rant over, getting ready to watch the boys win today,

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - there again you are doing it, telling us what to do, like you know better than us and being sanctimonious. Then you complain when people bite at your condescending attitude. You are about as accurate as a stopped clock, but you think you know it all, even though you have no access to any of the information we spend out time gathering. It is because of the likes of you that it becomes frustrating and pointless to even bother. You always think you know better, and always speak down to us. Then you try and claim innocence and act like it was all someone else's fault.}

May I ask ed001 if he isn't replying to us on here now? Or is it just ed002. I hope anyone that's been basically trolling the eds with abusive messages on here can realise you're ruining it for people that support and love the same club as yourselves and just want some inside knowledge of their club. If you don't believe or agree with the eds quite simply either debate it in a mature Manner of F off somewhere else.

Out of interest can any eds see this changing in the future? As I said in previous post I just think it's such a shame this page is being ruined for people including yourselves I'd like to think you've enjoyed helping some of the decent ones out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am still replying, just not getting into this one particular debate any longer. I have said my piece and that is the end to this particular one as far as I am concerned, no matter how many trolls post in nasty messages aimed at me, which are just getting deleted.}

17 Apr 2016 12:28:51
That's fair enough I shall also stop posting on this debate too. Keep up the good work guys!

I think the Eds contribution and the majority of posters here is massive - as a Arsenal supporter through and through this has become a daily site to visit, read and sometimes participate.

This discussion of trolls and the defensive position it has put the Eds is just flat out unacceptable and boring. Still love the site and hope the good guys keep participating but it definitely has diminished the experience.

Sadly I have popped onto the Spurs site a few times and like the atmosphere if not the team ;-) Sometimes you guys have to know when to leave well enough alone.

Sorry to see you go Eds you always been helpful to me but I fully understand what your are saying and I would do the same just a shame though as I like this site it's only site I really took notice of us signing a player thanks for all the work you did do though.

abuse is always there so everyone suffers?

ok perhaps not everyone is thick skinned, and i'm not here to judge the decisions.

fair enough if the eds do not want to deal with arsenal fans, then you are free to make the decision that would give you the peace of mind.

i enjoyed the eds info, and i would enjoy it, if it was still open to us.

but C'est la vie.

Surely we are all grown ups and able to swap opinions and agree and disagree plus give and take a bit of tongue in cheek banter with each without resorting to abusing each other?
Why would anyone want to set out to abuse someone they don't even know?
Respect is surely what a free to use site is about we don't have to agree with each other to be respectful to each other.

Agree whole-heartedly Gunner - given the context and passion from posters on these sites, we must adhere to the Respect agenda on here just as much as we should when we're watching our young lads play at the weekend or chatting to rival supporters on the way home.

Can imagine the abuse and trolling Eds get from some posters - am imagining the loud and brash dad on the sidelines abusing the ref after their lad is pushed over or they disagree with a decision.

Every ref deserves respect, even if some refs are stricter than others about applying the rules. Thus we must respect the Eds on this site, especially given all the hard work they put in for free (like the poor Sunday league official who steps in to help out then gets it in the ear from know it all parents in the sideline) . Ed002 is transfer info ONLY, no questions or "banter" - brilliant info too, from the highest, most credible levels. Ed001 and the others also do a brilliant job, thanks to all of you.

(Hoping you'll return to the very respectful Manchester United page soon! )
