Sky reporting that the sanchez to united deal is a straight swap for mkhitarayn with no cash involved. In that case, i think that is a really bad deal. Mkhi didn't want to join us and it is obvious that sanchez is the better player plus they are both of the same age. Why not take the money and go for younger player like pavon or malcolm? What kind of stupid move s that?

Hey Ed. I'm finding this window a tad strange regarding our targets. Do you actually believe we'll sign one or two of the big names mentioned? What throws me off is the board made it very clear in the summer/ end of last season we were ambitious and that we would challenge for the title this season yet our single signing has only completed a handful of games and our beast of a LB can't win his place over a CM youngster. Wenger showed no signs of wanted to truly sign anyone last window apart from Mbappe who unfortunately made the right decision. I just feel lost. Sanchez made it clear in the summer he wanted to move on yet we didn't act so why act now. Meaning we can keep him to the end of the season just as Wenger has been adamant about until this week. I will say this though, regardless who comes in, I like that we're finally trying to lose dead weight.

Can you give us an update on the Sanchez situation. Are we getting a good deal.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure there is any update really - he will at some point leave. In terms of a good deal, it centres around who replaces him rather than the odd few million here of there and that is the issue. There is a split opinion with one party favouring Lemar or Lozano and another favouring Aubameyangadingdong. There are pros and cons for each. Lemar is likely to be expensive and Monaco do not wish to sell right now, but he has done well for quite some time and should adjust well. Lozano is having a very good season but there is no telling if he will adapt - so there is a risk. Aubameyangadingdong is older, expensive in terms of transfer fee and wages, and has very serious baggage he brings with him. So the most critical thing as I see it is who replaces Sanches, not Malcom coming in for Walcott or Mkhitaryan replacing Oezil.}

Wajid, it reads as though Malcolm/ Walcott, Mkhitaryan/ Ozil, whoever/ Sanchez - so if we get Mkhitaryan as part of the Sanchez deal, it doesn't mean that he would be a direct replacement for Sanchez despite being part of the transfer.

I would say this makes some sense in terms of where we are with getting Ozil tied down, so that we can then decide whether to push the boat out in terms of what we offer Mkhitaryan.
