From my sources Wenger will make a bid for Gourcuff and Gary Cahill. And Van persie will be offered a 3-4 year contract extension

A non-rumour. We have already bid for Cahill so will probs be going back for him in Jan. Gourcoff we made enquiries about. RvP will obviously not be offered anything bigger than that. Kind of like coming on here and saying we will offer Walcott an extension, it's obvious.

I saw this on a website the other day talking about this. So basically you just took it from there.

This will get so many disagrees, but i'm gonna post it anyway because no-one will be willing to accept the inevitable.
Don't expect Major World Class or notable signings in January, i have a good source who knows a lot about January and knows we are only looking to sell Djourou, Kos, Flappyanski, Almunia and Bentdner. We will sign Kalou, Malouda and Benayoun from Chelsea for 23 million altogether. No-one else at all as we will be stuck midtable, going nowhere.
Lets look at Summer Targets in terms of replacements.
Samba: Designed to replace Eboue. We got Jenkinson instead.
Cahill: Cover for TV and could provide pace and ability. We got the Tractor Mertesacker.
Jagielka/Enrique: Proven in EPL, both are good defenders and masterful crosser/Pacey LWB. We got Santos.
M'Vila: World Class hard-worker, powerful and has good vision. We brought Frimpong in from youth.
Alvarez/Hazard/Mata: Young World-Class winger, both have good skill and finesse. We got Gervinho.
Carzola: Young, still got a fairly long career ahead, good skill and pace, Fabregas personally selected him as his replacement. We got Arteta.
Goetze: Skillful and adds a touch of class. Very long and prestigious career ahead of him. Essence of a playmaker. We got Benayoun.
We will continue to struggle with wages and fees and have to watch our rivals snatch up the new young stars.

Believable19 Unbelievable46

I know a lot of January as well but that doesn't mean I suddenly know who teams are looking to buy.
We will not sell kos, we only bought him last summer and Wenger has faith in him. Flappyanski will not leave as well as Alumunia, we would not be left with two goalkeepers (one of which plays in the reserves).
Kalou and Malouda are possibilities but as with everyone else outside of Wenger I do not have any idea who we would be looking to buy.
In terms of summer targets, Samba was intended as an addition to CB, not as Eboue replacements (they play different positions for one). Jenkinson we had been looking at anyway.
Cahill: True we have been looking at him but bolton wanted to much money for a defender with one year left on his contract, we had also been looking at PM4 since the 2010 world cup (I still do not see why people don't like the guy, he may be slow but he is good and if he was not then he would not still be getting in the Germany team).
Jagielka/Enrique: Enrique wanted to go to liverpool and Jags, Everton would not sell for anything under £18 which for Arsenal is too much.
M'vila: Frimpong was promoted last year, he was just injured which meant he could not play. And anyway, why pay £25m for a fourth CDM under the age of 24? Song, Pomg and Coqulin are all good anyway.
Alvarez/Hazard/Mata: Alvarez was apparently a dud in Serie A after a good first game, but besides, Arsenal or Inter Milan? You can't blame him really when a team who won the treble the year before wanted him. Hazard we had apparently agreed a deal for but it was too late for Lille to find a replacement themselves. I've seen that we may get him in Jan because Lille will sign J Cole permanently. Mata, well that was just Ivan Gazidis' fault. Gerv we were buying either way.
Carzola: I do not know enough about that to comment on, but I still think Arteta has done well for us.
Goetze: Apparently we made an approach on deadline day, still to late but at least we made an approach. We would have still had to pay at least £30m as well and Benyaoun was available who I still think has not too badly for us.
If we can get Usmanov and Dein we could easily get back into the top 4 and challenge for the title next season, we just need IG to go back to the MLS and Kronke to take Usmanov's offer of £14k per share and go back to America with IG.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, but if we keep rejecting his influence, Usmanov will lose interest in us. Fair points all round apart from Hazard, he is destined for Real Madrid. RVP is keeping our team alive at the moment, priority should be getting rid of a wage-budget drain or two and giving him a proper contract worth 130k+.

Agree0 Disagree0

"This will get so many disagrees, but i'm gonna post it anyway because no-one will be willing to accept the inevitable." - Yes, only because what you're saying is not necessarily correct, not because we can't accept the inevitable.

1) We will not be selling Kos, you don't know what you're on about.
2) We wouldn't see 2 keepers unless we sign one, but according to you we won't be signing anyone. I hear you say 'I only said no world class or notable signings' but you seem to think you know what's going to happen and haven't mentioned anyone coming in, so a process of simple evaluation would deem you are wrong about the keeper situation too.
3) Samba was never going to be an Eboue replacement, Jenkinsons was an Eboue replacement. Samba is a CB did you know that?
4) It was a toss up between Cahill and Samba according to the press. We didn't want tos pend more than 10m for a player so we got Per Mert, who incidentally is not cover for TV, I think he will partner TV most of the time.
5) Jagileka and Enrique are not both LBs. According to the media Arsenal were considering going for Jags but that was never said by anyone at the club. It wasn't a case of 'either Enrique or Jags, but we got Santos', because they play different positions. It was either Jags, Cahill or Samba, for CB, and it was only when we sold Traore that we had any idea we were going to sign a LB, and at an rate Santos has been better than Gibbs so far this season and quite rightly so.
5) Frimpong will be one of the league's best DMs for years to come, that is pretty obvious, plus he was meant to step up last year with Wilshere but tore his cruciate. Although M'Vila would add to the quality we have for sure, we don't need him unless we sell Coquelin. That would also demote Song. However, Frimps is going to be amazing.
6) I am disappointed with Gervinho also, I agree with you on that. Was glad he was taken off for Arshavin who should have started the game.
7) Arteta is a brilliant player, he joined us at the worst possible time ever, he has played well for us hopefully his confidence will improve. It was going to be very hard to replace Fabregas with like-for-like quality, I am just pleased we got someone as classy as Arteta. When Wilshere plays with Arteta you will see our midfield dominate. I don't know if you're a fan or not but have some faith.
8) I agree with you about Benayoun.

You should perhaps establish who plays where and who would have replaced who before deciding to complain because it didn't happen. Also you have NO IDEA what will happen in January, nothing wrong with speculating but even at the club we have no idea what will happen so how can you say you do with such conviction. I bet you were one of the people saying we would sign Hazard this summer, and no midfielders.
Starting your post with 'I know you will disagree' or words to that effect do not justify a post full of rash comments that are wrong.
No offence.

Apologies for poor numbering of points^

Agree0 Disagree0

LOOOOL the stupidest post i have ever read!...

90% of what you said was not even true...

plus samba for eboue? LMAOOOOO

kos leaving? LMAOOO

bro go watch snooker.... football is not for you!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the point well made was that none of the expensive players we were linked with, were bought by us. We go for cheaper alternatives every time. January will be no different.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol not much to say about Mata, I agree with you it was probably Gazidis who screwed that up, heaven forbid he almost brought world class talent to the club!
Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies if I sound harsh, worst day ever today, probs should avoid the site for the evening!
Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

Raz, no worries for comments m8, all too true. Look at Chelski, when they want a player, they give a good starting offer, negotiate wages quickly and are given access to large funds if they need strengthening. With Gazidas, we p*ss about trying to negotiate a lower price and waste time offering laughable wages, letting other clubs (Chelski, Man Sh*tty, Ferguson FC) pounce on our indecision and Mata is a prime example of that, but why do this when we have the second richest possible investor waiting in the wings, but the Dinosaurson the board refuse to let him in.
RIDICULOUS.
Gazidas and Wenger out.
Ancelotti , Dein and Usamanov in. That would be a start of good January transfers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you crazy why would we sell kos who is one of our best defenders that is in the French national squad and one of the best young defenders around obviously you don't know too much about January speaking carp like that and why would we Chelsea let three of there top players go to arsenal it doesn't make sense.I think wenger will aim higher than malouda and kalou

Agree0 Disagree0

Im Sorry But what Makes You Think Ancelotti Is a Good Manager What Because He Won The League And Cup... He Had The Best Squad In the League.
Wenger Is The Best Man for The Job Bar None

Agree0 Disagree0

^Because Kalou, Benayoun and Malouda are NOT top players for them, squad-players at best. At the moment, I'm worried about the idea of life post-RVP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol samba a CB to replace eboue who is a RB/RM. lol ur not an arsenal fan and midtable lol dont think so

Agree0 Disagree0

Get behind the team! stop whining about somthing you know nothing about Arsenal football club...Wenger just needs proper backing from the board and when pat rice retires a world class coach under him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know January as well - it has 31 days and come after christmas - you are talking poppy cock - now way Wenger will sell Kos or Djourou he believes in these guys and they don not demand hi wages

Agree0 Disagree0

I kind of found myself half agreeing and half disagreeing. Some factual errors that others have pointed out, also never believe anyone who says they have a contact (they never do and it's always rubbish), those fairly key points aside there are bits here that feel true.

There is no way Arsenal will sign any big name - logically for RVP's sake it's time for him to finish his career with a side that wants to win - and yes we seem obessesed with moderate squad players. I'm lost by the fact that we have stopped signing and blooding real talent, and somehow seem obsessed with signing mid quality for mid price.

The standard response to 'stop whining and get behind your team' is just knee jerk nonsense. Your side gets better not because you will it but because it's well managed with good players, something we used to be but aren't now.

Every summer signing has so far disappointed. £25m plus possibly down the drain rather than signing a Young or a Mata. Three eight million players are not necessarily worth one £24m player.

Mid table is where we are and where we will end up.

this is from rvp progame notes for todays game
Robin van Persie has reiterated his commitment to Arsenal Football Club.
There has been speculation over the captain's future in recent weeks as Van Persie enters the final two years of his current contract. But the Dutch forward has told the Official Matchday Programme that Arsenal's fans should not be concerned.

"I want to say something about my commitment to Arsenal because there have been many stories in the media lately," said Van Persie.

"I am committed to Arsenal, and that™s how it is, despite people [in the media] making up stories. For example, they said I was selling my house, but that™s nothing recent, I moved house last year.

"I see stories which make me laugh, but I can see how frustrating it is from the fans™ point of view. But I am committed to Arsenal. I am captain, and fans should not believe everything they read.

"As for that house story, the house has been for sale for a while, but I™m not living on the streets or anything, I have found a really nice house, and yes, it™s in London! So I want to put that straight, I am committed, and I will show that on the pitch

"fans should not be concerned" exactly what nasri said "dont believe everything you read" exactly what nasri said.

though i do believe rvp

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he showed it by gutting it out for a win...

Should we sell him if they come with a 40 mill offer? YUP.

give him the freedom to win a trophy and give us the money to rebuild.

as much as we want to believe we can compete...true fact is we are rebuilding.

The players bought this summer is a stop gap solution to keep us in the thick of it...but the long term view is to rebuild.

If van persie stays and we can get him help and we buy the players we need then we can quicken our process by a few years...but if not...it wont be 2-3 years before we can call ourselves title contenders

Deal in place for Eden hazard in January. Deal was in summer but was rejected because Lille had no time to replace him. But they now have found a replacement and will make Joe Cole a permanent signing

Believable17 Unbelievable30

Hopefully that's true. some say he has an attitude problem and won't stay more than 2-3 years but i would still take him. he's so good player and we need to become a real threat again. what would you guys think of rosicky going the other way? he clearly doesn't have the needed physical level to play in prem anymore
