i've been hearing lots of whispers about Mauro Zarate joining us and imo i believe he will be perfect. He has past experience of the premier league, scores a rough average of 25 goals per season & will be perfect to either play with RVP or be cover.
Also if we got him and Hazard as well as a CM before the end of the of the window we would be billiant going forward.

Song Wilshere
Gervinho Hazard
RVP Zarate
We would have to score every game with that but then the only problem is keeping them out down the other end. I have been a strong believer that Gibbs & traore arent up to the task & a new LB should come in. As well as a new CB we would be solid. Kos & Verm dont look bad but with Cahill or even Dann as cover/rotation we would be fine.

I doub they will all happen but if they did it would Amazing

Believable8 Unbelievable8

He is not very good and has scored 25 goals in over 100 games. That is 1 in 4, about as good as Cham-kack. I would cry if we signed him

Agree0 Disagree0

25 goals a season?? He has never had 25 goal season He'd still be a lot better than Chamakh, though.

I just don't see Wenger bringing anyone in. In the last two interviews he has constantly brought up the fact that "he has already brought in players and people forget that". Sounds so defensive that he will probably stick to what he has and as a result Arsenal will drop out of the top four straight in to the mediocrity of mid-table. I don't want it to happen but I'm scared as hell right now

Agree0 Disagree0

Zarate has only ever scored 25 for Lazio so I don't know where you get that 25 goals a season nonsense from.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, Zarate only played as a striker for one season after which they moved him to wing. He had good stats from last season. Right now Í'd be pretty happy with Zarate even though I think we could o better

Xherdan Shaqiri (FC Basel)
Cost: £8m

Mario Gotze (Dortmund)
Cost: £10m

Alvaro Vazquez (Espanyol)
Cost: £3-5m

Ed do you think these prices are realistic? {Ed002's Note - No - it is just fantasy nonsense.}

Believable6 Unbelievable12

Goetze for 10m It's like those mirrorfootball people are out there only to insult other people's intelligence

Agree0 Disagree0

Mario Gotze 10million you must be having a laugh, look closer towards 25m mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would reckon that more realistic prices for them would be:

Shaqiri: under 20m

Goetze: 20m+ possibly over 25m

Vazquez: under 15m
ED what do you think? {Ed001's Note - I think you are closer at least, but Goetze I would say is more like 30-35m, maybe even more.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotze 10 million your in dream land.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather have Mathieu Valbuena come to Arsenal, awesome player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea or City will once again probably out-bid us to another world-class player as usual :L Come on Wenger Splash the cash on notable players not youngsters and obscure Frenchman

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont make me laugh, you like everyone else had never herd of Valbuena before the made up rumours

Agree0 Disagree0

Valbuena is a decent player, but Eden Hazard is born to be a superstar. I'd know who I'd rather have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people do look at other players, is no-one aloud an opinion you hipocrit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please be true, hazard will be on the same level as ronaldo and messi

Agree0 Disagree0

I would honestly say you have no knowledge of football if you would rather have Valbuena than Hazard

Agree0 Disagree0

If hazard isn't signed this window then it will never happen, especially in today's Market, hopefully with most clubs deals done and dusted we won't have to much competition for him if wenger doesnt mess about and put the cash on the table

Agree0 Disagree0

So u r the only person who knows about football. So everything and every opinion that anyone has is wrong if u don't agree.. In my opinion I believe he would bring more to the club than hazard. That doesn't mean I know less or more than u just have an opinion. If u think people shouldn't have an opinion then I believe u r on the wrong site.

SSN saying Nasri moves a step closer to Man C. ED? any news your end, I'd like this done and dusted before the weekend tbf so we can start looking forward and not behind us

Mong Out {Ed002's Note - I understand a medical was being undertaken this afternoon, so assuming all is well and the finances agreed between the clubs and the salary worked out with the player, it will be imminent.}

Believable11 Unbelievable4

BBC say that there were many cameras outside Bridgewater hospital waiting for nasri's arrival today but there was no sign of nasri, and no medical took place. I know all you ed's seem convinced, but maybe he didn't have a medical today? But then again I shoudnt believe everything in Internet articles and seeing as how every ed is seemingly completely convinced it may be true. {Ed001's Note - as far as I know there has been no change and it will be/has been done today, I would certainly have expected one of the people who told me it was happening to get in touch if it had fallen through. I still expect official confirmation of his signature to be released tomorrow at the latest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

According to BBC there have been cameras out side bridgewater? Hospital all day after a tip off but no show.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is greedy, overrated, not a true Arsenal boy and as far as I am concerned City are welcome to him.

Ed, I'm genuinely confused, so could you please shed some light on the situation - what's the story with Eden Hazard? Because from what I can make out through the summer, his transfer was on, then we turned our attention to Gervinho and so his acquisition seemed off. Also one of Lille's bigwigs reportedly described Hazard as 'untransferable', so that made me think he wouldn't be coming to Arsenal. Certainly not this season. But now just because we have a big load of money his transfer seems to be back on again. Is it as simple as our new financial situation, or was it always about Lille's integrity and credibility of selling another star player to us?

{Ed022's Note - A deal for Hazard was nearly agreed up until a last minute change from Lille to lump another £6m onto the price. Arsenal then turned their attentions to Gervinho. Agreed a substantially cheaper deal than they quoted for Hazard and moved on. With Cesc and Nasri both going I wouldn't be surprised if Mata and or Hazard resurfaced...}

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Lovely stuff. Seeing as we're getting close on 60m for Cesc and Nasri, I'd like to see Hazard, Jadson, Cahill and maybe another centre back from: Samba, Mertesacker, Jagielka.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i would be the happiest man if hazard came
1732

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem now with Mata is Chelsea are getting ready to put in big offer. Just been listenning to radio and Chelsea manager looking at him as says other players were looking at are twice the price. So looks like we have missed out on him. {Ed002's Note - Not yet. Mata was not first choice for Chelsea and may no be attracted to a move there. But, Arsenal will need to make a decent bid to stay in the game.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand this is a big ask - i want mata and hazard. our line up would be truly fierce, maybe cahil to perk up defense but apparently a deal has already been made with him to leave on a free next season - Mikee the content gooner

ed will benzema be playing for arsenal this season in your opinion and did he meet with wenger during the summer do you know?
jay

{Ed022's Note - I was told Benzema met with Wenger in the first week of June. Benzema has always been admired by Wenger and Benzema is a fan of Wenger. However, Benzema said he wanted to fight for his place at Madrid. If Real signed a striker and he was pushed down the order things might change. As it stands I see no chance of him coming. A friend of mine told me that Lukaku was apparently given an offer by Arsenal which is causing the delay in his apparently sown up move to Chelsea. Also might be why the number 9 jersey is still available. I state, before posters rip into it. These are my contacts and I am only passing on what I have been told...}

Believable12 Unbelievable4

It would be a joke to the whole of arsenal if we signed lukaku, in a time where we are basically on the brink of turning in to a mid table club, our 'all knowing' manager goes for an 18 year old to solve our problems. Frustration is seriously setting in when it comes to Wenger, however I do feel he can be the man to take us out of such a crisis. I want to see 2 defenders brought in 1 lb and 1 cb (vertonghan matches perfectly for this, aswell as one of cahill or jagielka, maybe even baines if we would splash out a little. Also want to see Eden Hazard brought in above anyone else, amazing talent there, can cover the hole Nasri leaves. Another midfielder, slightly less needed I would say would be a Jadson/Sneijder type to play a central role, before anyone says I am under know illusion we have a chance of getting Sneijder. Lastly and just as importantly we need another striker. Benzema would do perfectly.

GoonerThroughAndThrough {Ed002's Note - Lukaku's transfer was due to be signed off and completed this morning. I have not checked if it happened or not. I probably would not get worked in to too much of a frenzy expecting him at Arsenal.}

Talksport's South America correspondent reckons that a deal for Jadson is virtually complete, despite denials from AW. He reckons he is a decent attacking midfielder but not the same as Fabregas. General opinion is that he is still class though.

Believable11 Unbelievable11

Arsenal have submitted a bid of ~20m for Eden Hazard according to several reports (likely to be rejected).

Wenger is also said to be considering Andre Ayew from Marseille. OM said today that they are willing to talk about Valbuena but that they won't sell Ayew. Wenger is not interested in Valbuena and I read a report saying that Marseille is willing to deal Ayew and they are claiming they won't sell him just to try for a higher transfer fee.

Both Hazard and Ayew play a position similar to Nasri's and are being considered as his replacement for when he completes his expected transfer to City before this weekend.

...those are the rumours I've heard. Now I'm going to toss in a little personal opinion ;)

Neither deal will happen.

Hazard is too expensive now, Lille don't want to lose another attacking player (lost Gervinho), and Hazard is content playing Champions League football with Lille this season.
Ayew is more likely but Marseille don't need to sell and Ayew is happy with staying at Marseille for another year or two.

Don't be disappointed if neither deal happens because neither player is ready for the Premier League or ready to take Nasri's spot as a starter. Both would be development projects and we already have Miyaichi. I know people will disagree with me but Miyaichi has more potential then Hazard and in a couple of years (along with Wilshere and Szczesny) he will be good enough to walk into the starting 11 of any club in the world. Don't have to believe me now but you will by the end of the season. The kid has more potential then any player Arsenal has ever had.

At this point we should all be hoping for a purchase of any EXPERIENCED midfielder and also a center back (Vertonghen would be perfect...he formed a great partnership with TV5 at Ajax and he can fill in at LB [for injury prone Gibbs] and also defensive midfield..... one can dream)

Samir Nasri will sign a new 4 year contract on Friday before the Liverpool game. He will then play against Liverpool.

{Ed022's Note - One of the Ed's on here has just received breaking news in the last 5mins from a contact of his in Manchester. Samir Nasri is today (Wednesday) having a medical at Bridgewater. The reason the transfer has been delayed until now was so that Nasri's one game ban could be "served" for Arsenal last night leaving him free to play in Man City's CL games coming up. He expects Nasri to sign either later today but most probably tomorrow. Fee and wages wasn't mentioned but all has been agreed. Expect this to hit in the next 24hrs...}

Believable21 Unbelievable23

I think the Dublin Gooner has hacked into Ed022's account

{Ed022's Note - Listen, I gave DG a lot of stick about his outlandish claims. However, all jokes aside, I along with the other Ed's have a lot of contacts within the game. I just spoke with another Ed and he told me he got a phone call from his contact in Manchester. He told him Nasri was undergoing a medical today. Trust me when I say, Nasri will NOT be an Arsenal player by Friday.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He is at the bridgewater, but not for city but united. Gutted, we just seem to be making the teams around us even harder to catch ..............mp

{Ed022's Note - Both City and Man Utd do their medicals at Bridgewater but I was led to believe he is signing for City. Either way, he's a goner not a Gooner...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed022 you aint ever steered us wrong and are honest, so no reason to lie, not exactly like you are saying Squallaci is being swapped for Tevez and we get an additonal 15m aswell.

Bye Bye Nasri, to me and my mates you will foever be known as the "lounge Boy"

Agree0 Disagree0

If...I say IF it is United I hope Berbatov is coming in the other direction, we need players not money

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is happening today or now,wouldn't it be on ssn already?

{Ed022's Note - They've missed a trick apparently. Its happening today (probably now) and he is expected to be signed today or tomorrow.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted yesterday that berbatov will be part of the deal, hearing that it may well be both bebatov and carrick.......great swap if that happens.......mp

Agree0 Disagree0

Will be honest if him missing a game gets us an extra couple of million i have no probs.....but would still prefer him off to inter. i know they might be broke but better off taking installments from them than a one off from City and him coming back to bite the hand that once fed him.
that said I cant see him displacing Silva from the team....where exactly are they going to play him lol.

{Ed022's Note - They're going for Rugby Union rules and are asking the FA if they can name and play 15 players...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the hell can't we do some sort of a swap deal for Johnson or Tevez. Oh I forgot, our manager is useless.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely Sky have there reporters at every training ground and they would see Nasri

{Ed022's Note - SSN are spending their time interviewing Glasgow Rangers before they head out for their Europa League tie. No SSN cameras are there because they didn't know it was happening.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol @ ed22 Arsenal =world in union lol

Agree0 Disagree0

"Why the hell can't we do some sort of a swap deal for Johnson or Tevez. Oh I forgot, our manager is useless" - beacuse he is signing for United and not City, Berbatov and/or Carrick coming our way

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, surely it won't be long before someone off here tips them off....if it is true that is

Slick Mick

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope berbatov or carrick are not coming our way, they are crap

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I drunk :s what am I reading? Tevez, Berbatov, Carrick Neither of those will play for us

Agree0 Disagree0

I always though Berbatov would've fitted in nicely at Arsenal, although I think we should be prioritising a central/attacking midfielder at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed - You do realise if you are wrong then the little credibility that this site has will be gone Lets be honest, all you Ed's are just like the rest of us and have no contacts at all. If you did, you would be working for the 'real' media breaking stores nation wide {Ed001's Note - how do you know none of us do? I was the first to have the exact time of Charlie Adam's medical at Liverpool, when everyone else was telling me it would be the following day and that he was posting on Twitter about being sat at home watching TV, I was the only person saying his medical would be at 4pm that day. I was right then and I will be proven right now, he is joining City as soon as the medical is done. You are an anonymous poster who doesn't have the guts to put a name to your post, I am putting my whole sites rep on the line with this. I think that says it all really.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I still feel Nasri will stay, especially with Cesc gone

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunno if arsene will like berbatovs 20 b&h a day habit but suppose he might like he's 20 goals a season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatov is not crap, but he's not our style of player. Personally I'd be happy with him, but his lack of pace makes it unlikely.
Tevez is too expensive, so forget it.
Carrick is a possibility, but I don't rate him and I'd be disappointed to see him come.

To the guy who said "Our manager is useless" you really need to have a word with yourself mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done ed its about time those phantom posters were put in there place
mark wexford

{Ed022's Note - It just winds us all up when us Eds do this not for money but for the sheer enjoyment of it. None of us get paid for this. All of us have other jobs and families to worry about but we make time when we can to do this. We all have contacts from within the game that have been built up over decades (in some cases) of involvement in what we call the beautiful game. When trusted contacts of ours give us a tip off and we share it with the website, rather than slag us off people could give us the benefit of the doubt and wait to see it hit. The contact who gave the information to Ed001 has got several transfers (like Adam to Liverpool) spot on and I see no reason why Nasri's transfer will be any different...}

What I find funny is that everyone in the world pretty well knows that Nasri is off to City. Mancini has said he is doing everything he can to get him. SO why, if you're going to question an Ed's word, would you question it on this topic? How stupid is that? All the Eds do a great job, they also have great diplomacy and even when they think someone's complete tit they don't get worked up. I am pretty sure there are many better ways to spend one's time than to edit an Arsenal rumours site, they could be off enjoying themselves, show some gratitude. It's a great site and the Eds provide the only entertainment on it so whoever that person was should apologise.

Do we need a new striker to play with Van Persie or to be a back-up?

Believable30 Unbelievable5

Absolutely. Chamakh seems to have lost all confidence. He doesn't even look like he wants to score. He's not making runs in behind the defense, and he's been slow in linking up with others. If being replaced by RVP at the beginning of 2011 was enough to destroy his confidence, he really can't be relied upon.

{Ed022's Note - I can't legally say why or what the reason is but let's just say that Chamakh is suffering from "personal issues" that came about last December. I think this has had a detrimental effect on his form, demeanour and everything about him. Hopefully he can recover some form that we saw at the beginning of last season.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we have now giving Vela on loan, Chamakh has proved inconsistant and therefore cant be trusted, Bendtner is coming to his end, Joel Campbell wont be experienced enough..

Playing Theo through the centre is an option, but personally i don't think its the right one...

As far as i am concerned, No: 9 aint being kept free for no reason.

Tevez is on his way.... Oh wait i just woke up

Agree0 Disagree0

Have heard some rumours about his personal issues too witch have effected him very deply

Rainahm Gunner

{Ed022's Note - I would literally (along with the website) have our arses sued off if we said what it was. Needless to say its very serious.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed when you say ''personal issues'', do you mean the similar sort of ''personal issues'' that rosicky supposedly suffered from a while ago?

{Ed022's Note - No and I literally can't say much more. Its just off the field problems.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Have heard about the rumours about Chamack....and can see why they would be a problem especially with his religion.
plus i think its a bit narrow minded , especially if someone within the squad has a problem with it, but so far havent heard it mentioned at the staduim....heaven help him if there are any chants made about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

The most obvious answer for a long time- an absolute -yes

Agree0 Disagree0

If its the case then we must get behind him and support him in every way. we waited a year too long to get him and he seemed to be a genuine player for us and for someone to start this c@@p and for it to effect him isnt right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah if the guy has personal issues we should get behind and support him, deffo.

{Ed022's Note - Well said. Give him the boost he needs and who knows? He may get back to the Chamakh of earlier last season. Let's face it. We could do with him firing in the goals...it certainly wouldn't hurt...}

Real Madrid are interested in buying a striker possibly because Higuain or Benzema are going to Arsenal

Believable7 Unbelievable20

Not worrying or anything but would it not be rvp to madrid and no one to us.
starting to see no transfers....sigh

{Ed022's Note - RVP will not be leaving to Real Madrid. The newly appointed captain is tied til 2014 and he will lift some silverware as captain of his beloved Arsenal! Come on! Think positive...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just think a good signing would really lift everyone. even big Cahill may pacify me although the defence looks a bit better from what we have seen so far, but considering the improvement Wenger will wait until january and offer pittance and try to get him for free next season.
hearing about lucho gonzalez at OL he is 31 in january so thats a no no lol.

Believable9 Unbelievable19

I dont know how true this is but i hope fans dont starting moaning about him being ex brum and not good enough this player is top quality

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes too expensive We could get better for the same bracket.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly hes not top quality...He cant break into the Argentina Squad and if you look at Van persie ...thats the quality we need...not another bendtner...we have those players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree he is a quality player.

I remember wenger admired him when he was a birmingham...could see this one as plausible - he has good quaility, better than bendtner, a more finished article

Ok so according to various things I have seen today here is a summary: Bendtner is touted as going to PSG for £11m, we are still in the hunt for Doyle ( which IMO is a big middle finger to Vela, Bendtner and even JET), Nasri is going to City for £23m and we are in the hunt for Edin Hazard. Msn stories are saying there's a chance we'll go for Valbuena too.

If anyone has anything further please feel free to add.

I am seriously hoping we have no interest in Doyle, regardless of what AW has said about him in the past.

Raz

Believable5 Unbelievable15

Valbuena would be awesome

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Zenit st Petersburg have an offer accepted for valbuena 11-12 mill

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO, Doyle is a great striker, and would do well at Arsenal alongside RVP. We need an out and out striker who is not afraid to crack them in from outside the box, unlike the tippy tappy few that we have now, chamak being specificly in mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but come on, Doyle? People go on about AW not signing star quality and how we need a world class striker, yet then they say they're happy with Doyle, that is ridiculous. The thing is with Arsenal, any striker can be a success simply because of the way we play - see Chamakh last season as an example. I think Doyle would be a ridiculous signing, it would completely contradict the desires of the fans and the reasons AW has given for not signing anyone yet.

Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

If Doyle signs, I'll turn off the TV everytime he plays.. would be a horrific signing.. Arsenal are not going to sign anyone the media says we're going to sign because we dont let ANYONE know who we want or when we're gonna sign them.
Trinidad Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm glad you're with me when it comes to Doyle, who is awful (as I have said before, Wolves play very attacking football, they don't get goals because their strikers are pants. I have never seen someone miss so many chances as I have Doyle). One thing I will say is that Gervinho was all over the press though, and we signed him....

Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

Jet is now at ipswich town so how can that be a finger up to him?

Agree0 Disagree0

We sold him instead of giving him a first team place... yet we are now considering Doyle according to some dark corners of the press - which, to me, is a middle finger to JET who is miles better. It's the same as selling Bendtner and then signing someone worse.

Just a thought.....Eto'o has said recently that he could still possibly move to an English Club, could that be us.
Could he just be waiting for us to qualify for the champions league proper before deciding because no amount of money he was promised would let a player of his temprement play in a country with as high a racism,i remember him walking off while playing for barca while in europe after having monkey chants.
might be disruptive but would certainly score and lead the line, never mind the song rubbish, we need high calibre players
ally {Ed002's Note - His wages would be a major stumbling block.}

Believable3 Unbelievable13

Yeah i think the wages are a problem. but i would definately consider paying him the sort of money that the likes of nasri wants, just to stick the fingers up to him.
at least Eto'o has the pedigree to deserve that sort of wage.

Here's a frustrating rumour.

According to Guillem Balague.

Chelsea INTERESTED in Mata FOR SURE. His buy out clause 60m euros but Valencia will consider selling for 30m. Chelsea want a winger

Chelsea willing to do a very big effort for Mata. He was only thinking of FCB and AFC but key: AVB likes him:he plays on the hole or wing

Nice going wenger...Excellent Job.

Believable18 Unbelievable9

What has Wenger got to do with Chelsea rating a world class player???

{Ed022's Note - I think the suggestion is if Wenger pulled his finger out then Hazard would already be an Arsenal player...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Balague... The same guy that said he was signing for us in a matter of hours His information is worse than the Stars

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO Hazard would be a better buy than Mata and we only need one

Rainham Gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Guillem was spot on with our Mata rumours. We wanted him, he wanted to come. But we messed it up.

He also called Cesc's transfer correctly this season. and the De Gea stuff.

#gamechanger has spoken

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree.....methinks other teams need their own scouts although the quality there with hazard is there for all to see.
Balague....far as im concerned he is a pish journalist, just a Marca tout who gets paid to say whatever barca or real , or any spanish club pay him to say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well hes not always right but most of the major ones are correct. We did screw up the mata transfer.

He predicted Ronaldo and kaka to Real.
He said the same of cesc...although deal didnt go thru last year as cesc was not pushing it as much as this year.

All he says is chelsea are interested...not that they are buying.

Saying that SSN has stated chelsea were rejected in a 22 mill bid and valencia want close to 26 mill.

Agree0 Disagree0

That guy Guillem Balague said that barca had signed cesc 2 years ago, he then said mata to arsenal was a done deal 100%. the guy has no cred at all. he is a joke

i think wenger needs to get 4 more players and it should be these 4

karim benzema
eden hazard
mathieu valbuena
gary cahill

{Ed022's Note - Money where your mouth is time Wenger. Hazard is worth £25m or so. He's surely worth it. Wenger himself has said

Wenger: ...We follow him. And personally I think hes a real talent, and hes good enough to play for Arsenal, yes."

Reporter: I met Hazard yesterday, and he revealed that he (Hazard) dreams to play for Arsenal.

Wenger replied: Its important for your dreams to come true, }

Believable22 Unbelievable6

This is exactly why iv been sayin that we are going to sign eden hazard, imo he will be the perfect signing for arsenal- fast, skillful, great passer, great vision and even is strong for his size.

Just effing do soemthing wenger

It sounds promising...but after already losing some good players this season, Lille would have to appease their fans by *at least* selling him for good money imo...that is the only stumbling block I can see... unless they put on lots of add-ons, etc...could happen

wenger to swap bendtner with cissoko of psg.

straight swap.

from reliable german source heinz

{Ed022's Note - A Champions League cup-tied LB? Brilliant. Still, i'd take that just to get rid of Bendtner...}

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Bit harsh on bendtner far better than chamakh will ever be

Agree0 Disagree0

The cissokho that plays for lyon yeah?

{Ed022's Note - Yeah, the same one who played in last nights CL qualifier against Rubin Kazan which they won 3-1 making him cup tied...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed ? psg have not played in the CL so how can he be cup tied ?

{Ed022's Note - Because the original poster made a mistake. Cissokho plays for Lyon. Lyon played last night in the Champions League qualifier against Rubin Kazan. Cissokho played in the game and is therefore cup tied. Just for the record, there is no-one called Cissokho who plays for PSG. Any further questions?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing in the qualifying doesn't make anyone cup tied.
Clubs have had to name squads but these games only....

{Ed022's Note - Correct me if im wrong but I am pretty sure that if Lyon go through (which they will after winning 3-1 last night) then if we signed Cissokho he would be cup tied. In 2010 Uefa amended the ruling about players being cup tied.

"...if a player's club is eliminated and he signs for a new club by the end of the summer transfer window on September 1 he can play for his new club in either competition."}

But he said that it is from the very famous "sauce" - Heinze.
i dont take the rumor seriuosly then..

{Ed022's Note - Sakho is the captain of the newly rich Champions League club in PSG. The same club who has spent more money than any club in Europe. I can't see him going anywhere. Even if he is a fan of Wenger and wants to eventually play in the PL.}

Reports in some papers this morning suggest Arsenal are looking at Yann M'Vila. Personally i think this would be a fantastic acquisition as he is a natural successor to Viera (not just because he's French), remember how good he was when France played England last. He would be a great buy at 15mil.

Believable21 Unbelievable19

Why do we need a defensive midfielder when we have song and frimpong?

When our need is CB, CAM, ST

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally, Song aint upto it and Frimpong is still being blooded.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Viera and Gilberto/Petit played alongside each other they made up the strongest midfield in the EPL. They were all strictly speaking CDM's. Another CDM would give us more backbone and stability in midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree i think song is great for us and very under rated. Frimpong to me is still some way off. M'Vila however is already at a level that we need. If Frimpong is good enough he will get a game. Would be a great buy

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not saying we dont need one but its not a priority when our defense has only two capable CB's without a backup...with a whole at left back...with a striker crisis and cover for ramsey at the least...

so i dont think with such issues wenger is going to buy a CDM when we have two...

The issue yest as that rosicky and chamakh lost the ball too easy...

btw its going to be wilshere and song behind ramsey so once again that rumour is false.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to return to Wenger's hugely successful 4-4-2 of old. We would look so much more solid with.. Wilshere Song Frimpong & Gervinho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vieira was never a CDM. He was our main attacking midfielder, people need to get that right. M'villa is good but we don't need him. We need more attacking option, we seriously lack creativity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack Is A Cm Not A Winger :/

Agree0 Disagree0

Song is crap however if everybody thinks he should be kept what about buying a class Def Mid and let Song fight it out with him ........ In addition to this it would also free up Song as cover for CB ..... the Professor has previously said that this is his natural position anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

So instead of buying a CB..your theory is buy a CDM and switch song to CB where hes rarely plays. this clearly oozes your hatred for song more than anything...

get off your high horse.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal didnt have quality DM since gilberto/flamini leaves..
song didnt do the job well enough. he need to cover the CB and the midfield area.
i thinks hes not consistent enough..bcoz some games he looks like he play for his life. but the other games he just look lost in the middle of the pitch.
if AW dont want to buy anymore LB, he should buy 1 CB and 1 DM.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is definitely some truth in this rumour. Now Fabregas has gone and Nasri looks next out the door, Wenger is looking at reverting back to the switching between 4-3-3 and the 4-4-2 formation that brought success with the Invincibles. For the 4-4-2 formation, he needs a strong box-to-box midfielder. Of the 2 central players in the 4-4-2, Song would then battle it out with M'Vila for the combative position (with Frimpong & Diaby as back-up) and Wilshere with Ramsay for the creative position (with Rosicky as back-up). Van Persie and Walcott up front, with AOC, Gervinho, Arshavin and Miyaichi as the wide players. In the 4-3-3 he would then have the option of playing 2 DM and 1 CM we playing tougher opposition and 1 DM and 2 CM against weaker opponents.
The Emi-Rat.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather Arsene spend 15mil on M'Vila than on Jadson or another sub par AM. Totally agree a CB is priority ahead of a CDM however i feel CDM is more important than CAM with the likes of Wilshere and Ramsey already in that position.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be a quality signing - personally I think Song is very limited - a decent reserve but thats about it, he's shown a lack of class in the last two games and has been totally outclassed against better sides.

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy aint leaving his current club this year at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

If people think we should switch back to a 442, I'd say another striker would be still be a bigger priority than bringing in M'Vila. There is clearly something massively wrong with Chamakh

Agree0 Disagree0

Top banter guys. Walcott and arshavin are good striking possibilities.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its true and m'vila is a good player better then song surprisingly

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Yann M`Villa would be a great buy,he would give us extra bite to our midfield,and help sure up our defence,and i like the look of Dann,he seems a very good prospect,and a Wenger buy,as kos and Verm are hes 1st choice, dann would be great cover,but i think we will sign hazard,and maybe Benzema,now that would be very good indeed,
Andy

although last nighs performance wasn't the the greatest there are some positives that can be taken out of it. TV5 and kos looked solid together but i still believe we should sign another cb. frimpong eas solid when he came on and looks to have what it takes to play at the highest level, so wouldnt sign a new dcm. Walcott also looked sharp.

Now for the negatives. Gibbs injured again, definately need a lb as he is not gonna last a whole season and traore doesnt cut it for me. Chamakh needs replacing in the squad, just not at the level we need, personally i would rather keep bendtner.

So overall i think the positives outwiegh the negatives so things are not all doom and gloom but wenger definately needs to put his hand in his pocket and re-inforce the squad with top quality.

Fozzybear

Believable30 Unbelievable10

Did you actually watch the game? TV5, yes Kos looked lost, was out of position most of the game and let players run through on goal like a policeman watching a riot apart from your views on Wally & Chamakh, thats complete nonsense we need 2 CB's, 1 AM & 1 ST. And thats all i have to say about that Fox

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah i think Kos has looked solid in both games this season. Frimpong had a mare last night when he came on, two of his challenges would not have looked out of place on a rugby pitch but on his other performances i do rate him, we will find out saturday tho. Gervinho was useless as well so dont all attack only chamakh. Wally looked really lively n was a threat.
BD

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I think the first problem was Rosicky...who played up front where ramsey would play if wilshere was in the squad. Only reason being rosicky cant tackle.

We missed wilshere for sure. Gervinho was open many times on the wing...no one saw it on the pitch.

Frimpong and Jenkinson put in worthy appearances but they both need more game time..they are worthy subs..And i think Miyachi, AOC and Campbell are the same...

Rosicky needs to be benched or sold. I dont know why arshavin was not used...and chamakh needs to get some confidence or play only epl games.

For me i think we need two CB's

Djourour already injured and squillachi is crap.

Not sure if wenger is going to buy a LB but gibbs needs to toughen up...he's like a woman.

The only other player id want is A hazard or a mata...no other player will make an impact for arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a complete overhaul in the next 10 days
2 defenders ( 1 CB and 1 LB ), 1 AM and 1 ST

Agree0 Disagree0

Solid? We got torn apart at will

Agree0 Disagree0

People aren't giving Chamakh a chance, the guy was benched for the whole of last season, and when he did play he showed the quality of a top centre forward. Remember when he came on against Villa? We still lost but he did influence the match in our favor Give the guy some time, he's rusty from not playing regular first team football. When RVP was injured he scored 9 goals in 15 games..... thats not that bad in my books. Once he gets another real chance he'll prove himself

AnuvaGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

To AnuvaGooner, why would they care if they sold him to us. Arsenal are not in the same league as them and if they get good money for him they would sell him no matter who to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard will go to Chelsea as they will splash the cash to get infront of Arsenal. Hazard also apparently admitted he'd prefer a move to Chelsea now as they have a higher chance of trophy glory even with the ageing squad. I mean come on, why would one of Worlds Rising Starlets want to move to a club who barely managed to beat a 4th place serie A club who lost 3 of their best players in the Summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

No you will find hazard said he would only move to arsenal in the epl. so stop making up bs

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster above that saying hazard wants to go to chelsea..

hazard has told the media before that he likes to move to arsenal or madrid.
and said that a move to the Emirates Stadium was his 'dream' transfer.
-hakeem-

Agree0 Disagree0

Read the text carefully, i said apparently he said this, maybe translation error? Anyway he now has a 30 million price tag according to the daily mail

Agree0 Disagree0

For all those who dont know. Arsenal have first refusal on hazard ( young guns blog reference many months back from a insider reference)

The problem has always been the price. Arsenal would have taken him for 12-15 which was our target then and when they wanted 20 mill.

now they want 26? i dont think this rumour has any legs. Yes we do have him if we want him...but if we cant afford him hes gone.

{Ed022's Note - I have said before and I will say again. If we don't sign Hazard by January at the very latest we NEVER will and I reckon he will go on to become a World star of a player. Potentially IMO on a Messi, Ronaldo level...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Hakeem for your useful information and polite tone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would one of Worlds Rising Starlets want to move to a club.....?

The answer is simple.. to show his world class talent to the world to see it and try win some trophy with it.
Hazard said that he is not going out from lille to be on the bench of madrid or maybe chelsea(if they intersted).

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't win a trophy without a full world class team as both Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have discovered. 1,2,3,4 or even 5 starlets might not be enough to win a trophy.

Ive heard this from a very good source also but the fee involved is a bit far from accurate. however I do believe he is looking at a midfield wizzard and 1 centre half :) lets just wait and see, these sort or rumors should not get out really as most of arsenal's buying and bidding is done behind closed doors to all.
