give us a break lads the info is good..

malaga gooner

Agree0 Disagree1

But Sahin is going to Liverpool, so it is far off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sahin was due to go to Liverpool on Thursday just gone but arsenal have asked him to hold on, good chance Sahin will be a gooner this season since he prefers Arsenal over Liverpool

{Ed022's Note - Hello all, there is a brand new Player Profile on Nuri Sahin, the very highly rated midfielder from Real Madrid. As most of you know, either Arsenal or Liverpool will be signing him (in my humble opinion) so we created this profile to provide you all more information on the young lad. I personally think he'd be a very good replacement (temporarily) for Song, but if you have a different opinion come on over to the site and read the profile, and post your own thoughts/opinions. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

go where you want with this, but I can 100% confirm Alex Song has cleared his locker at Colney..

I dont know where Malaga gooner got his story from but weve been hearing inside that FCB have offered cash + 1 player (who may be Montoya)

Believable41 Unbelievable9

i have been told there will be 2 signed next week and up to 3 the last week of the window..

Rapid reports coming out of France that Song is leaving and M'vila is his replacement for around 15 million.
They also said Rennes have already replaced him with Jean Makoun

Believable47 Unbelievable11

Cant understand why we would replace a 15m player, who at 24 has proven prem experiance, thats off field behaviour is first class.....with a guy for the same money whos off the field history is bad to say the least...............

Agree1 Disagree0

Song is a good midfielder but has been lacking in his duties last season and in my opinion every season he has played. The guy is ment to be a DMF but gets caught on the counter attack too often. Sure he set up a few RVP goals but how many did we concede because he was out of position... Get rid and bring someone in that will do the dmf job. I know people love song but really look at his positioning last term! I was shouting at the guy nearly every game saying to get back and protect the back four!

Agree0 Disagree1

I completely agree with the you, Song as a Defensive midfielder is poor to say the least, he has no positional sense at all, this is why he gives so many free kicks away around our box as he has to tackle from the side or behind.
This is one loss that we will all be glad of once you see a real DM in his place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Atleast we wont lose m'vila to africans cup.
like song.

personally would prefer to keep song and ship out the dead wood first.

Not sure how reliable this is but rumours all of over twitter is that apparently reports in south america are saying wenger has made a 16 million bid for Leandro Damio

Believable21 Unbelievable21

No such rumours exist, nothing is being reported in Brazil either. Make up something believable and worthwhile if you're hungry for attention.

Agree0 Disagree0

His club have said he wont leave for less than his buy out clause of 60m euros (£47m) doubt this will happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if that were even remotely true, Damiao started at a value of over £20m BEFORE the Olympics, after his great displays there, it's going to be even more.

I think wold be the perfect replaciment for rvp , he playd 7 games my brazil and scord 7 gools , i dont think the 2 strikers arsenal have sine is going to be good enoth to replace rvp not yet maybe in cuple yers , i wold love to se my felar brazilian joing the giants from north london ,

BBC: questioning Wenger:
Q: Is Song going to leave and Sahin to come in?
A: Both could happen.

I reckon this is gonna happen next week.

Believable43 Unbelievable11

The longer Sahin takes to join LFC,the more likely it is he will sign on loan with us.

Braintreegooner {Ed022's Note - True.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem with this loan is Mourinho. Won't agree to a chance to buy at an agreed fee at end of season.

Agree0 Disagree0

The question never included Sahin, the journo asked could song leave and will a replacement come in

Agree0 Disagree0

Song has had his head turned. He trained today, met with Wenger and wouldn't commit to a new deal. Wenger wants £17 mil'. Song has said his goodbyes to team mates and s deal will be done very soon. Good on Wenger for playing hardball and shifting him on quickish. Expect Sahin or Biglia to be announced within a week.

Believable30 Unbelievable8

Hopefully he is the last player on darren diens books that man is on a mission to screw arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree0

He dont have to sign a new deal, still got 3years left on his contract. Why the f is david dein doing this, is it because his dad isnt on the board any more?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its great wenger sticks to his principles. its worrying when your club makes this many changes but you will surprise people this year. cazorla absolutely cracking buy.

Let's all hope Biglia stays at Anderlecht. I know the Belgian League very good and Biglia is NOT good enough for Arsenal.

Lee dixon tweeted "Song's gone", so expect him not to play against Sunderland, and expect an announcement for Lucas Biglia next week. Massive blow for Arsenal as Song was outstanding for the past 2 seasons.

Believable23 Unbelievable27

Sorry pressed unbelievable cause I'm glad he's gone another player who thought he was bigger than the club
bryan

Agree0 Disagree0

ITS NOT THE REAL DIXON YOU PLANK!

NO player bigger than our club most assits last season sell him in arsene we trust

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually it IS Lee Dixon's twitter account, but it doesn't make the rumour any more true!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but as a defensive mid (which is his job remember) Song is no where near outstanding!

Agree0 Disagree0

One season not two

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as Song is a good player with an eye for a pass and gets stuck in, i feel he lacks full concentration, can get out of position when we got exposed and seems to run of steam some games (last 10 mins running on empty). And before everyone says different and states that Song is class just compare him to Viera or Cesc....hes not even close! We should go for Alonso from Madrid as the Spud rat boy is heading to Spain! Alonso will offer bags of experiance.. COYG Devongooner

Javier Hernandez heading to Arsenal.
With Robin Van Persie move complete speculation is rife that Javier Hernandez could be moving the opposite way.

Hernandez, who has suffered from second season syndrome at United last term, is said to be unhappy at his current lack of opportunities, and with Van Persie's arrival he is only going to get pushed down the pecking order.

Unconfirmed reports say he has told Ferguson he wants to leave.

Source: Mirror {Ed027's Note - he is getting worried, but Fergie has given him a pep talk, so he'll probably stay

Believable15 Unbelievable40

This was yesterday's news. If it was going to happen would it not have made sense to do both transfer's at the same time. Obviously not going to happen and anyway there are better strikers to go for.

Pete '63

Agree0 Disagree0

We still have a lot of players on the book...

HIGHLY doubt this.

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Damn! soooooooo wish for that to happen. Hernandes in CLINICAL and I believe a clinical - true finisher is a last piece of the puzze in our current front line. But do agree with ED - alex will persuade him to stay

Agree0 Disagree0

What i said from the very start demand Hernandez in return plus around 8 mill would be a steal , hernandez is already a very good player but can be the best striker in the world in my opinion

been praying this would happen for days now but cant see fergie leaving him and berba( who as it seems is defo gone) both going

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely not, it would been announced as part of the deal involving Van Pussy. We have Giroud & Podolski. Wenger may also use Walcott through the middle, if necessary. Next season we can see whether Afobe has progressed enough to be the 3rd striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is not happening would have been thrown in already with RSVP deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see why not great player still don't understand why he's not starting for man u every time he plays it seems he scores. I would love for him to be at arsenal.

lucas biglia and nuri shain expected to be done soon, this is from within arsenal, so clsoe to being done that they have been mentioned on the club site and page.

i still say sell arshavin bring in belhanda

bs18

Believable39 Unbelievable22

Really hope this isn't going to happen. He is 27 and is just awful at being a CDM. Maybe in the italian, spanish or french league he could find a place in one of the lesser euro league sides, but this player hasn't got what it takes to be an PL or CL top player.

V5 is a good leader. I hope we don't sell him next year.

Agree1 Disagree1

Well if he is captain then he will be gone next season!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is that TV5 will have an amazing season so therefore he will be rewarded by being sold to the club of his desire (if he chooses Arsenal then he will be sold to the highest bidder). Most likely after Barca publicly announce their interest he'll go there!

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

So this will be Vermaelens last season with us then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its different this time - all of the previous captains were give the arm band as 'sweeteners' to stay with the club. To be honest if Wilshere was older, I would of given it to him, a true fan of the club and English, nothing against foreign players but you need a captain that bleeds Arsenal colours and is home breed.

Agree1 Disagree0

However, Sahin was absent from R.Madrid's training yesterday and Kay said that Arsenal put in an offer yesterday too which has "changed the dynamics" [of Sahin's proposed move to LFC]

Expect progress by the end of this weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great player would love to see him at The Emirates. I have a feeling he is on his way.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon If we come in with a decent offer the lure of Champions league football will be enough to persuade him to join us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Defiantly we need sahin. He is a good passer and will fit in our style.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's been close to 'Pool for days now.

Yes, only close to Liverpool because of Mourinho and Rodgers friendship.

Arsenal have far more to offer for Sahin, I'd love to see him here permanently!

How do liverpool still attract players? It just confuses me!

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool attracts players with the promise of leading a once great team back to glory

Agree0 Disagree0

How do Liverpool attract players? I dono but I guess at least they are keeping the players they want to keep, it's gona be a tough year for us we lost 30 goals and no way is any if our team going to replace them goals,
A realistic steve

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he choose LFC? Why would he choose a team who 1) can't keep their best players 2) hasn't won anything for ages 3) are really good at looking like they are doing well whilst all the while doing nothing! At least LFC stand a chance with the Europa League, are AFC going to be winning the CL anytime soon?! Seriously guys, some of you can be so arrogant, RvP carried you last season, instead of slagging him off you should be thankful to him for saving last season for you! I am well aware of LFC failures over the last seasons but we've had tough times to contend with what excuse does AFC have? And you guys are deluding yourselves slightly saying Sahin really wants Arsenal, but Jose wont let him, does that make you feel better about it? Xabi Alonso is apparently the one who told him how it feels to play at Anfield in front of the Kop, which convinced him. I'm not saying LFC are the best and that Arsenal are rubbish, because Arsenal are a good team, but really, you are not that superior to us, Sahin could come to either of us and would be a great addition.

I said a couple of days ago that wenger was interested in Aly cissokho of Lyon and according to some sources offers have been made from Italy and England.

The Italian club is ac Milan and the English club is arsenal.

Wenger wants a back line that can speak french and communicate properly.

P.S. (Vermaelan does speak french fluently as that is his first language)

Believable11 Unbelievable34

According to the BBC Arsene Wenger took van Persie to the side before the match against FC Koln at the weekend and informed him that he was no longer in the club™s plans ahead of the new season after it was believed that van Persie had been considering staying at Arsenal when he witnessed the new arrivals coming in to the club.
It had been rumoured that Arsenal were prepared to offering van Persie a deal which would have shattered the club™s wage structure however this was never given to the player after the meeting he held with Wenger when he said that he disagreed with the direction the club was taking.
The BBC are reporting that Wenger told van Persie he would be sold if a buyer could be found.
If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt journalist David Ornstein nor the BBC™s fact-checking department, then I would thoroughly stand behind Wenger™s decision to sell van Persie after his behaviour this summer.
After standing by the player through seven injury-ravaged seasons he has the season of his life in the last year of his deal (Flamini anyone?) and turns around and states that he isn™t happy. As captain of the club his actions were disrespectful and this hardline stance from the Arsenal manager in rooting out a player who believed he was bigger than the club gets my full support.

Podolski and Giroud were bought before Van Persies outburst...we thought we were seeing a true statement of intent from Wenger and the board but the truth is they wouldnt have been signed but for Rvps stance months ago.
Song will be sold, Makoun will sign for Rennes from Villa and we will sign Mvia.
We will be left with the deadwood that we could have sold/ got off the payroll and used this money to reward RvP in the first place, but hey....' in Arsene you trust'....right?

It's a great thing for Wenger to do proving that Arsenal are more than 1 man. So I'm not bothered by the sale, it's who we sold RVP to thats the problem.
The signings that we have made could make us contenders this season, but the RVP to United just makes them stronger to, this is what annoys me!

bryan

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever makes you guys feel better, personally I think yet another superstar leaves to be replaced by nearly men. It's the same when players say he only left for the cash etc, fact is the club is bigger than one player and the club will also manipulate the situation to make it seem they are in the right - they aren't. Football is about the action on the pitch not about the propoganda of the boardroom. Podolski isnt fit to tie RVP's boots and I hadnt even seen Giroud play before the Euros or signing him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, should the blame be on Van Persie alone? I don't really see how the complaint of Van Perise about trophiless runs is placing himself above the club. Very good players like Van Persie love fantasy football but they also desire to win titles too with the goals they score.

Wenger and Arsenal management team have shown through the years that they are more interested in money than pleasing the fans and winning titles. ZERO trophy in 6 years for a big club like Arsenal? Come on! I think great contributors like Van Persie, Alex Song and more have a reason to see things differently.

Well hell, either get behind the team now or go support Utd.

Injuries in the last 3 years;
10/11 27.02.2011 08.03.2011 Twisted knee
10/11 28.08.2010 08.11.2010 Malleolar injury
08/09 23.04.2009 05.05.2009 groin strain
08/09 27.03.2009 14.04.2009 tear in the abductor muscle
08/09 30.08.2008 06.09.2008 Malleolar injury

He has been injured for some part of the following seasons;

04-05, 05-06 (brkn foot), 06-07 (metatarsal), 07-08 (Twisted Knee),

The appearance figures don't show SUB numbers

04-05 - 41 apps when Henry + Berg was around.
05-06 - 38 apps when Henry + Berg was around.
06-07 - 31 when Henry + Ade was around.
07-08 - 23 apps over 3 months out due to knee
08-09 - 44 apps, 20 goals,
09-10 - 19 apps out for 5 months!
10-11 - 33 apps, 2 injuries, 22 goals
11-12 - 48 apps, player of the season!

The first 3 seaons he was bit-part as we still had Henry and Bergkamp til 06, so sub appearances SKEW his average a LOT!
Everyone knows that it takes players a while to hit form after injury so the guy was GREAT when fit bit went missing for long periods!
Will deffo miss him but dont think he IS the team, he is replaceable like any other player!

No rumour just a reply to gooner 1010, i totally agree, when i heard he was leaving i was going benny but then i read what wenger did and i laughed! too damn right, that dutch wanted to bully the club and wenger let him hang himself then summarily dismissed him.24 million, 1 year left, ignore all that, he wanted out so let him go, theyll be no-one to pass to him at utd, scholes is finished and cleverly is proper overated and the whole team is based on the fat scouser, RVP will be quiet.its all about podolski this year

I've heard rumours that Biglia is possibly on his wy to the Emirates from Anderlecht for 6-8 million€, a pretty good buy in my opinion, Bartley has left for Swansea(best of luck to him) and we may get someone as backup fullback as well, Wenger may bid for a striker from Spain, Llorente, or maybe Lewandowski, Park is definitely leaving, Bendtner might stay(he's pretty good, 22 goals in 40 Premier League starts for us)

Believable15 Unbelievable31

Bendtner is awful! He may score quite a few important goals but how many does he miss? And he is so arrogant and big headed so will expect to start every game when is he not even half as good as giroud!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is everyone laying into park ? he hardly featured last year because van persie was untouchable. if you actually watch him play he's a pretty decent striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner is going. hes already comfirmed it himself never mind the club.

Agree0 Disagree1

Biglia, plays in terrible league and we need an instant replacement so no thanks

Quick question with all the Song rumors circling. Who is more likely to be signed as a replacement between the Capoue, M'Vila, and Biglia trio?

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Don't rate any of Song, Capoue, M'Villa or Bigilia highly. I would much rather we went for Toulalan or if we had the money De Rossi.

Agree0 Disagree1

Which ever is cheapest.

BUY 2 of the 3 for me. some times in the season we will need to be more solid. look at man city. barry toure or de jong 2 of them 3 wil play in the middle solid

How can you not rate song? He is a very strong, hard tackling and well balanced midfielder who has a great eye for a pass as demonstrated against Liverpool and everton setting up both of rvps volleys!

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad to see wanyama isnt of interest on here. Better than the three names mentioned. The boy is a class act!

celtic fan :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I have watched wanyama alot and think he would solve our problems. song ISNT a DM defensivley poor. mvila is a carbon copy of song but more mobile better passer. capoue is a very good DM but techinically not very good.

wanyama has both and would be cheaper id imagine. my gut says mvila , feels like we are playing hard ball with them waiting for the price to drop

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is far from class, I will stick with my sources and say m'vila and sahin in and song bendtner and squid out. ScotsGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

ScotsGooner - what a ridiculous statement. Wanayama has everything in his locker. And at 20 years old can only get better, the boy would flourish in the EPL. Your statements is probably based on he plays in a poor league. But being in a poor league doesnt mean hes a poor player. Ive watched wanyama and M'Vila and know who I definelty prefer.

One of the disappointments for me in the close-season was Arsenal's failure to bring Joel Campbell into the fold. Having met the criteria during 2011/12 to qualify for a work permit, we have instead loaned him out now to Real Betis. This must be heart-breaking for a young man who agrees to move across the world, to then spend 2 years on virtual probation. We should have ensured we got the permit when the circumstances allowed and used him as a cup player and occasional sub, rather than potentially Park and Chamakh, who are clearly not good enough now or in the future.

Believable27 Unbelievable5

Agree with you on that one sounds alot like when we brought Vela here just to loan him and then when he got here not really giving him a chance.

In all fairness tho another year on loan is better then him rotting in the reserves with pod and Giroud here he would get no game time so is in his interests really.

He failed to gain a work permit hence his loan to Real Betis. The Criteria required is judged over a 24 month period not just 1 season or 12 months

I agree too.
I don't believe Campbell was ever part of the Arsenal plans. They normally do the same with all the youngsters that come to Arsenal. If they turn into good players they sell them for 10 times more than what they paid for them (Vela, Traore,Diarra, etc) if they turn into superstars then they eventually sell them for 100 times more than what they paid (Fabregas, RVP, Toure, Adebayor, Anelka, etc).
