Reports suggest that the Gunners had agreed to meet Remy's £8m release clause at QPR.

But the north London club are only willing to offer wages of around £50,000-a-week while Remy wants closer to £80,000-a-week.

Arsene Wenger had wanted to land Remy as back-up for Olivier Giroud next season but he is not willing to be held to ransom over wages to get his man.

Very very wise Mr Wenger

Think he is worth 60k per week given the sign on fee and in French national squad plus the stupid wages everyone else gets

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree SY4.

Remy gives us options upfront. Something Man City have, and look at them, they are League Champions.

Remy could, and I do mean could, be the difference between 4th and 1st.

I, like Dags, think Remy would be a great pick-up and good compliment to Giroud. Still there is just no way he is an 80 000 per week player. Sorry Remy we are going to have to pass.

{Ed025's Note - minimum wage would be too much for me RR..

In the modern game 80k a week for a striker who'll score 15-20 is fair imo.

For gods sake we were paying Chamakh the equivalent of 90k a week when we signed him.

Hi Eds. Question - with Wesley Sneijder's club saying he's for sale, what would Arsenal's intrest level be? For me, he's a game changer and the kind of player that would add amazing steel to the midfield. Thanks.

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Debuchy on a long term contract for an undisclosed fee. It's on arsenal.com, now for Sami!

From a journo working on this very story. Nevan Subotic will join Arsenal from Dortmund who have already replaced him with Matthias Ginter who had long been touted as a possible Arsenal signing. Fee around £12m mark.

Lol It always amuses me when people claim to have heard a transfer story directly from a journalist. No journalist worth his salt would let out his/her big scoop to someone prior to actually breaking the news for themselves. That would be counterproductive in the extreme!

Agree1 Disagree0

OR he's replacing Hummels, who is apparently United bound.

Agree0 Disagree0

We offered 12m for him back in 2009 and was rejected, can't see him being worth less now than then!

Guys, the journo I have known him for 30 years, when I worked at the Evening Standard, I myself was in sales but we used to drink together on Fleet Street. He is working on this story as are, the Star, Sun and Telegraph. It's which one breaks it first.
I was only relaying what he had told me.
Once this story breaks, I'll tell you another rumour doing the rounds.

Agree0 Disagree0

A know a journo to and he told me your journo is a known liar and makes up storys to try sell papers.he also said arsenal tell him all there transfer dealings first and subotic ain't coming

Any interest from Arsenal in Ron Vlaar? He had a solid World Cup and he isn't at all expensive plus I think he would be a really solid back up.

Believable2 Unbelievable25

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Eds, Rumours about City looking to offload Nastasic. Could we be interested? he would be good back up for bfg and kos, plus he is young, and has experience in the PL, and CL.

Believable5 Unbelievable18

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has shown no interest.}
