I think we would rather hurriedly come up with some kind of instalment payments that Monaco would laugh at, like 1.23 million a year for a 100 years or something we were pretty sure Monaco would find equally unacceptable.
We are not and never were going to break the world transfer record this summer, it just suited the club to be seen as prepared to.
It's a public relations exercise and always has been.

To be fair Dags all clubs are stepping stone clubs to Real Madrid mate, very few refuse the chance to join them.
Kos Mesut Sanchez Lacazette would all be on the plane 5 minutes ago if they had chance as would 99% of all other premier league players.

Wenger stated that we have not made an offer for Mbappe. Talks with the player or his representatives may have occured and it sounds like he is staying at Monaco for a further season. I would imagine we could pay 100m euros if they did sell, but that would be offset by selling Sanchez for £50m, leaving a balance of approx £40m, for a young player full of potential.

Wire mate that's simply not true, Real offloaded Mesut to pay for Bale mate, Ozil never wanted to leave Real he was absolutely gutted to go and I'm sure if they wanted him back he'd pay his own airfare to go :-)
Real are the world's biggest draw for players from all over the world.

And now that Morata has gone, there's a space in the squad, a chance of real playing time (for Mbappe) and also an extra £60m in the kitty ( if they're struggling to pay for him ) . not looking good for us IMO.
