Ed, quick question...
Are Arsenal interested in any fullbacks either LB or RB at the moment?
Cheers. {Ed001's Note - I don't know of anyone in particular being chased for fullback, no.}

Do you think there will be any defensive additions in January and if yes, who is most likely?
Cheers. {Ed001's Note - I really don't expect a defender in January.}
Agree0
Disagree0
I didn't really expect one either but with our injuries at the back rapidly increasing it may be becoming more of a possibility.
Agree0
Disagree0
Wenger Will probably look to the youngsters to step up.
Agree0

A loan will be the more likely option IMO

Every 1 and his dog knows we should have signed a pl LB but as usual we go for a cheap option.gibbs is not good enough and all ways injured.
but as long as the fans let wenger and the board get away with out spending money we will never have a team that can compete were missing loads of players to be able to compete AA23 should have been taken of as soon as he came on.why do we keep players that dont want to be at our club and when they do go we dont replace them where are cesc and nasri replacements wheres the striker we needed at the beginning of the season park,and that crap from morocco.
and then they pt the prices up over 6 per
open your eyes the board love it full stadiums a nd no money spent

I'd love to see us sign van der wiel under chelsea's and spurs noses to fill in for sagna but his prob better than sagna and will keep his position
Agree0

Every hostile fan seems to forget that injured or not we do have to PAY for these players. We are not man city - we have to manage out squad size.
Are you all incapable of seeing this froma macro-perspective?
We have a finite amount of money. Any money that is put towards signing another defender, is money we don't have to buy a new striker. It's also money we don't have to offer RVP a fantastic contract or theo...
These aren't difficult concepts and I am confident, basic deduction will get you there.
Agree0

I wouldnt give theo a new contract dont rate him,

Mr. No name "comes sassy" but can't sign off... No-one was being hostile either 0_o
We have over 60m in the coffers not inc' what we're paying out already... A full back loan wouldn't be lost.

The name is billybob452.
Not trying to be harsh, but fans are being unreasonable. We have plently of defenders, this is just bad luck...
We may look at loan options, but then what happens when Sagna, Gibbs, Jenkinson return?
Like it or not we have to pay Squillaci, and the rest.
As for not rating Walcott, Mark Wexford, that says it all really.
Miss Arsenal - I agree that we finally have some cash to spend, but surely, you would want that to be dedicated to a world-class summer signing fund as oppose to an average reactive transfer>
Agree0
Disagree0
I dont see a full back being signed, despite the fact gael clichy would get into our starting 11 straight away, along with nasri and cesc in midfield, and even bendtner upfront ahead of chamack. We are much weaker than we were last season, so here's hoping that Arsene Wenger does something about it in January - if he doesnt, top 4 will be a real tough task.

Gibbs is back in training and may be available for the Aston Villa game apparantly. that will mean Konscielny right back, gibsy left back with Verminator and Meat packer in the middle. Djourou will be back before u know it, beginning of the transfer window no doubt. Miguel is suitable cover also, a potential star and will only get ther with the type of opportunities being presented to him at the moment. I really don't see any reinforcements in that area unless things get worse.
its our strikeforce that needs a make over. heavily reliant on RVP who unfortunately is going to go end of season..like it or not he's off. wants to wait until end of the season to discuss his contract?? dnt be naive guys

How us thro overrated when all arsenal fans constantly label him as a one trick pony.
I would say he is the opposite. Totally ubder-rated. Still very young and is still a very dangerous player.
You have a right to an opinion, but it doesn't mean you are right mate.
I only hope you also weren't saying wenger out 2-3 months ago.
Agree0

Billybob452 - I do agree. We've been extremely unlucky but fact is, we seem to be defensively unlucky almost every blooming season! lol... We need to overload but we also need to OFFLoad and quit paying our 2nd string reserves the same wages as our 1st team subs. Things would balance themselves out then.

Love that he is not afraid to shoot, however he lacks a lot of the qualities we expect from arsenal players. Off the ball he is average. His ball distribution is poor.

Which is why you play RvP in the hole, and Pod as main ST.

Ed002, saw on the Liverpool page that you said Ozil may leave Madrid. Why is this and do you reckon Arsenal would be interested if he became available? Also, what price would Madrid be looking for?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - I said I could see him leaving in the summer. Madrid have to clear out the midfield and Ozil could be one of several to leave. I have no feeling for price.}

I thought Mourinho rated him highly. He's arguably in there top 3 players. Ronaldo says he plays better because of Ozil. Strange to think they would get rid of him. {Ed001's Note - off the pitch Ronaldo and Ozil are not on good terms, that is probably the main reasoning.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Shame. Ronaldo is a fantastic individual but if I could choose either for Arsenal, I would choose Ozil as I would want players who want to play for the team not just themselves. {Ed001's Note - I would take Higuain myself, he is a fantastic striker and would allow RVP more freedom.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Higuain would be fantastic even though I was only comparing Ozil and Ronaldo but yes Higuain would be perfect for RVP. Is there any chance of him? {Ed001's Note - he was offered to Chelsea, so he is available, but they are looking for 40m.}
Agree0
Disagree0
40m?
Might aswell just of said no chance Ed. LOL. {Ed001's Note - I think the 40m says it far better than I could!}
Agree0
Disagree0
Get podolski in jan, then go for ozil or gotze in summer, strong german spine to the team, poor szczesny
Agree0
Disagree0
Why cant Arsenal spend 40Mill?, we have the money, it the wages that are more the issue really. Top Strikers will always cost a premium but someone like Higuian would make a massive differnce as a partner to RVP and turn us into real contenders. {Ed002's Note - There is a complication as this is all to do with raising money for a bid for Cavani and getting an agreement that Chelsea will also not bid for him.}
Agree0
Disagree0
I believe podolski is polish sp sczesney would be happy.
There is rumours Chelsea are looking into gotze.

Anyone know anything about this guy? Portuguese league player.

Hey Ed.. Is taiwo out of question considering the champions league tie?
And any truth to the Hannover striker links? {Ed002's Note - The tie makes no difference with respect to Taiwo who would not be allowed to play anyway. In terms of a Hannover stiker, I assume you mean Abdellaoue rather than Ya Konan, but either way I do not know of any confirmed interest from Arsenal. Newcastle did look at Abdellaoue, but I think he would be a pretty high risk option for someone like Arsenal and probably little better than any emerging players.}

hi ed ive heard that Thierry Henry is set to be coming back to Arsenal because of are lack of good strikers is there any truth in this ???? {Ed002's Note - He has played a fulls eason in teh States and he is due back in Az by mid February for the pre-season. To me it seems unlikely, but not impossible.}

What source have you got this from, arsine isn't exactly one for tying up players until the last minute let alone before so would be shocked if this is true
Agree0

To the above post i believe this window will be different.
i think wenger has his targets all ready in the bag and i think there will be at least 3 quality signings every 1 knows he expected nasri to stay he was never replaced and our strike force is not up to it if rvp gets injured and we need cl football.the fans expect the club to spend money they have to deliver or there will be a revolt

Miss Arsenal Read Back To Last Friday Ed Has Said They've Done It All. can I Ask Why You think They Haven't Contacted Koln
Agree0
Disagree0
Miss Arsenal I have to disagree it's been widely reported that we actually got in touch with them immediately after our re-season game with Koln and we've been tracking Podolski ever since. He may decide he doesn't want to come to us but we are definitely talking to his club, the whole world knows that.
Agree0

This was my assumption previously. Which is why I was shocked to hear AW say he hasn't approached Koln over Podolski.
But this is the info I've been hearing. And Podolski has hinted previously on coming to AFC.
Besides why am I being "questioned" on my response and yet the person who replied first w/ the exact same question isn't? - Don't answer it's a rhetorical question.

My point was. When I defend the fact we ARE getting him, I was slaughtered so I purposely changed tact and said it's probable we're not now (going by AW's comments) but it seems (since I sign off now with MISS Arsenal) I STILL get slaughtered for that LOL! Go figure.
