With TV back and Kosher [Cahill will rotate] pushing on from a fantastic first season in the premiership, i am very optimistic for next season. Chezzer's dominating the back four, Gibbs [fingers crossed] proving himself at LB, Cesc and Jack bossing the midfield with Melo/Song rotating as the DM [Melo will cut people in half if they even dare to look at our back four - get him please AW/IG] and RVP, Gervinho and Theo helping themselves to a hatful of goals next year. I think Nasri will go and Cesc will stay. Team for the treble [the Carling Cup can go swing]:
Chezzer
Sagna Kosher TV Gibbs
Melo
Cesc Jack
Gervinho Theo RVP

Ins (still to come - hopefully): Cahill and Melo

Outs (still to go): Almunia, Bendtner, Nasri

Changed my mind again - Toon 1 Arsenal 5 on the opening day (hat-trick for Theo and 1 each for Gervinho and RVP]. C'mon you gooners

Don't kip next to your PC, you are posting whilst dreaming :p

Hahah nice reply :)
IMO Nasri wont be going this season. I think its more likely we will lose Cesc altho it is looking like he will also stay seems Barca cant afford him. Also Nasri never said they want to leave, he's just looking for reinforcements b4 signing a new deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill would be first choice not koscielny

Dublin Gooner back again.

I see some people have been questioning my whereabouts. Like I said all along and still maintain, I simply relayed information that I received from Liam Brady when I met him. Wherther or not it comes true, I don't really care. I told you what I heard and nothing more so slag away if you want. I know what I was told and if you don't believe me so be it. I still believe what I was told and none of what I said hasnt come true yet. We will sign benzema. We will sign Jagielka. We have signed Gervinho and Nasri will sign a new contract and Fabregas will leave.

I also have it on good authority that we are in advanced talks with Frank Ribery and a part exchange deal with Bbdtner. Ribery is keen to work with Wenger and play in the premier league before the end of his career.

Arsenal 2011 starting 11:

Szczesny

Sagna Jagielka Vermalen Gibbs

Song

Wilshere Nasri

Gervinho Ribery Van Persi (C)

Subs:
Fabianski
Eboue
Koscielny
Ramsey
Walcott
Chamack
ArashavinDublin Gooner

{Ed022's Note - It worries me you can't spell Bendtner or Van Persie but can spell Szczesny... Also, quite arrogantly you've put yourself on the Arsenal subs bench...}

Believable10 Unbelievable17

Haha ed classic

Agree0 Disagree0

Is arshavin the dublin gunner?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to point this out but if you're so confident we will sign Benzema why isn't he in your starting 11 above?

Agree0 Disagree0

And we will apparently sign Benzema but he's not even on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

And even though we buy benzema he doesnt even make the bench? maybe we loan him to spurs for a season to get used to the league..
jay

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is benzema in this sqaud then? your talkin rubish. the liam brady you met is obviously fictional

Agree0 Disagree0

You almost convinced people until the benzema cock up

Agree0 Disagree0

Let me put it this way. Liam Brady is a family friend and I can tell you that he wouldn't not share transfer targets with anyone outside the club. ANYONE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neva gonna happen

Agree0 Disagree0

So you don't care whether it comes true? As an arsenal fan If these signings are correct, I would very much care if it comes true.

No offence, but to me it looks like someone has been playing a little bit too much football manager and fantasy and reality have become blurred- but hey who knows maybe you'll have the last laugh.
London Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm guessing there are several "liam brady's" in Ireland.... maybe puts a new slant on this

Agree0 Disagree0

Have heard the frank ribery rumour of a person who told us something last year about another player from a London club, he also mentioned cahill.....i wouldnt mention things on here is was realistic.....Ribery has not been mentioned in any newspapers all summer.RIBERYdoesnt play up front hes a leftsided midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see Benzema being happy with that line up

Agree0 Disagree0

What colour is the sky on your world?

Agree0 Disagree0

Were does benzema fit into this team if were signing him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe benzema is been lined up as assistant manager when pat rice retires..

Agree0 Disagree0

Benzema??? ah you must have played golf with his agent and he must have told you what he told everyone a few weeks back BENZEMA HAS NO INTEREST IN ARSENAL

Joel Campbell will have a medical this evening ahead of the completion of his transfer to Arsenal, his father Humberto has confirmed.

The deal was all but sealed last night, when Richard Law met with both player and family following a rival bid from another Premier League team. Law managed to persuade the family to ignore that interest, and after increasing the initial £930,000 bid to over £1 million, all parties are happy.

Humberto Campbell confirmed the plans for a medical this evening, in an interview with La Prensa Libre.

"These tests will be done and supervised by the people of Arsenal. Everything is virtually ready."

Campbell senior also confirmed Arsenal will be lodging a bid for a special talent work permit, but this may have to wait until after the Under 20 World Cup.

I am one of the only gunners who thinks Bendtner's actually good. I am hoping we send him on loan to Everton to get Jags coming this way (and offload Squillaci in the process) however letting him go may be a mistake. He's a very old-fashioned centre forward, a bit like Shearer (albeit less clinical, at the moment) and people forget that he saved our arses 09/10 when RVP was out and Arshavin couldn't play the point. He's got excellent heading, as good as Chamakh, and is much better at his feet.

To let him go would be a mistake, but I think Everton for a season-long loan (to be recalled when RVP and Walcott eventually get injured and Chamakh loses confidence, I suppose) would give him confidence, would improve his finishing (no more barn-door misses, hopefully) and would maybe give us a reason to rate him half as highly as he rates himself.

That said I hope Walcott is shifted to the point.

PS ignore the Nasri/Cesc speculation. We're only winding ourselves up, just what Barca/City want

Believable16 Unbelievable8

I very much agree
Bendtner can eventually become as good as he himself thinks he is. And that is very much because he has been trained the Arsenal way.
Maybe a loan to Everton with matches week out and week in can develop his game to his full potential.
Peter

{Ed022's Note - There you go guys...there are two people who rate Bendtner. Three if you count Bendtner himself...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bentner misses every chance he is given, he has one good game every 3 months, he belongs at a mid table german team, he must be sold if we will want to try to win the league

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the worst when you need him the most. couple of sparks in 09/10 doesnt make him another alan shearer. He could do better in figure skating i think.

Sarajevo 84-11

Agree0 Disagree0

No you're not the only one, I'd far rather keep Bendtner and play him in his proper position as striker, rather than shoving him on the wing. Usually on the wing he gets the ball to cross only to find RvP has drifted back into midfield and nobody is in the box to cross to.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's rubbish, maybe he can improve but I'd rather buy a goal scoring machine or give Theo or vela a chance up front with RVP rather than him to learn how to score. You cant put shearer and bendtner in the same sentence unless you say. Shearer could score goals, Bendtner cannot :)
PLUS (a big plus) dont forget Bendtner's one on one in the last few minutes of the champs league match against Barca. Is that confidence?? He is poison.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner Is Awful. Simples.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger would want to keep him but its Bendtner who wants to go to play regular first team football
I think Bendtner is good, just not good enough.............yet Maybe he will come good with regular football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner could play for barcelona and still miss as much as he does now, he over rates himself and has been giving enough chances to prove himself, sell him on and play walcott through the middle

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh only a blind man who has no understandin of football would think bendtner is good n thats just cos he wouldnt see how annoyed everyone else on the pitch is with him when his shots are closer to the corner flag than the goal

18 Jul 2011 22:10:09
Ed, do you reckon this is a realistic squad for next season?

Goalkeepers: Wojciech Szczesny, Lukasz Fabianski, Vito Mannone

Defenders: Bacary Sagna, Emmanuel Eboue, Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Gary Cahill, Johan Djourou, Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs, Armand Traore

Midfielders: Abou Diaby, Cesc Fabregas, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Song, Jack Wilshere, Juan Mata, Tomas Rosicky, Andrey Arshavin, Emmanuel Frimpong

Attackers: Robin van Persie, Marouane Chamakh, Theo Walcott, Gervinho, Carlos Vela

{Ed022's Note - Yes. I would say that is pretty much spot on to what it will be. Mata would be the only sticking point for me. A fantastic signing in my opinion but I am still unsure whether we will sign him...}

Believable13 Unbelievable11

Miyachi is probaly more reallistic than juan mata

Agree0 Disagree0

..so no Nasri?

{Ed022's Note - It would appear that the poster feels Nasri will be heading for pastures new...which would maybe speed up and firm up the arrival of Mata...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct, I think Nasri will move on.

But it's all been so confusing. While Cesc has shown that he is desperate for the Barca move, he has also shown such respect and love for the Gunners, which can't have been easy given his allegiances. Samir Nasri, it seems, is holding out for a big payout from either Chelsea, City or maybe just getting a pay rise from Arsenal. Plus I think that if Wenger was to keep either one of Nasri or Cesc, he'd choose Cesc. But if he doesn't go this summer, he'll most certainly go in the next. That's when I'll feel the need for a big, proven signing to fill his role. Someone in the mould of Sneijder, but it won't be him. Schweinsteiger maybe? I doubt he'd cost more than Fabregas.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is it we aint gonna win anything again, sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

Replace cesc with nasri n that will be our squad and i think better for it

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger has repeated many times that Nasri is NOT leaving as he would rather he left on a free then cashing in now. apart from that spot on. Although i doubt Cahill will come.
He is just too english and expensive for wenger to sign. He will go for a younger, cheaper and french alternative such as sakho.

Ed022 Your So Jokes Haha

{Ed022's Note - Someones got to lighten the mood in here. Certain fans are hanging themselves with their 1989 title winning football socks just because we haven't signed more than Gervinho two weeks after the international window has opened. anyone explain why we did not buy shay given
and still have almunia and fabinanski {Ed022's Note - They refused to sell Given to us as we are a "rival" in the league. This didn't stop us from selling them Adebayor, Toure and Clichy...}

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Because in the world of Wenger it would "kill" Szczeny and Flappianski

{Ed022's Note - Agreed. He does like making it sound like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre when it comes to signing or not signing a player. It does seem as though Almunia will be sold/released and the order will be 1) Szczesny 2) Fabianski 3) Mannone...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Almunia is on his way out. Shay Given is a great shop stopper but Arsenal need a more physical keeper who can dominate his area. Szczesny is much better at that and could grow into an all time aRsenal legend if he is allowed to develop.

{Ed022's Note - I don't doubt that he will go on to be a World class keeper. The question a lot of Gooners are asking is, is he ready NOW?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have respect for Toure who gave us good service and never "mouthed off" but we got the best out of him, Clichy is gifted but prone to a game losing mistake every other game and Adebayor well £25 million for a player worth a third of that with only one good season. Need I say more.

Agree0 Disagree0

In all fairness to Adebayor, he did score some cracking goals against Spurs :)

I know this sounds odd, Ed, but do you happen to know what Gervinho's squad number will be?

{Ed022's Note - Gervinho will be wearing number 9 next season.}

Believable11 Unbelievable3

18 Jul 2011 20:21:43
Cahill, Samba or Mertesacker linked with moves, Mata, Benzema, Vidal linked as replacement for Fabs, Also saw somewhere that Wenger scouting Mids as replacements, Christian Eriksen also linked , Aly Cissokho would be great replacement for Clichy, Lukaku also being linked as well as Biglia

{Ed022's Note - Now turn of Football Manager 2011, log onto transfers rumours and write some dream world stuff...oh wait. You just did...}

Believable9 Unbelievable12

Ed there all linked im just stating it so why dont u go fm and make your dream team so up yours

{Ed022's Note - Half the footballing population have been "linked" with Arsenal. Thats the problem with everyone knowing we need signings. Agents will put their clients names about and we get linked in various media outlets. Most of the time it is "paper talk". There is nothing in your post that hasnt been said 100s of times before...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont get why so many morans read all the paper goss and speculation and then feel the need to repeat it on here where EVERYONE is already aware of... Sheesh

Agree0 Disagree0

It may be fantasy football but if we dont sign quality we gonna slip further behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed were here to discuss whats best for arsenal .we all get info from the media including you.the guys just giving his opinion out of the options.ifd you dont want us to do that whats the point of this site.

{Ed022's Note - Settle down... I am having a laugh. It has to be done after some of the drivel that is posted on here. Of course its a site for opinions and rumours etc... its all banter!}

Agree0 Disagree0

The only 'opinion' part was Cissokho being a great replacement for Clichy, I commend that but the rest is just a repeat of old, old news...is just a repeat, is just a repeat, is just a repeat, is just a repeat.... haha Opinions welcome, reading the same crap over and over again is just getting tedious though.

i want 2 know who we have bought

{Ed022's Note - Gervinho, Carl Jenkinson, Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin. Arsenal have also as of today agreed a deal for Joel Campbell the 19yr old Costa Rican.}

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Ed022 is this defo with Joel Campbell as people suggesting another club trying to hijack deal.

{Ed022's Note - As far as I am aware we have agreed a deal worth about 1m euros or £900k. Unsure if personal terms have been discussed and a medical has not been done. Of course a deal isn't 100% certain but I have yet to hear of another club trying to hijack the deal. Until you told me...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed022 just rumours suggesting another club but cant help wondering cause Wenger takes so long to sign players that allows other clubs time to get in on deal. He looks very good talent so hope this does go through.

{Ed022's Note - We do know that Wenger is very slow when concluding deals but lets hope we get this one signed sealed delivered. I am concerned that everyone knows we need "experience" in our young squad and so far we have signed a 24yr untried Ivorian, a 19yr old who's played in League 1 eight times and a couple of teenage Spanish kids...Add to this another 19yr untried player and thats our experience sorted!}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2011 19:29:43
Ed do you think Walcott will be played down the middle this year and if so does that negate the need for another striker?

{Ed022's Note - I did suggest that Walcott will be shifted in the striking role. RVP will have a free roaming role with a advanced winger on either the left or right with RVP drifting into spaces. I think Walcott will start banging them in with good service.}

Believable16 Unbelievable4

I agree, walcott can score alot, but hopefully he learns to read the line better than he does. His running will make finding a pass against a team that plays ultra-defensive, much easier. If he fails however, we have no 2nd choice to cause real threat. be honest, nobody fears chamack.

{Ed022's Note - Theo is a confidence man. If he scores a few the confidence and goals will flow. As for saying Chamakh my bitch up isn't feared, lets not forget that he had a great season up til Christmas whilst RVP was injured. Yes, he did fade/tire dramatically after Christmas but it was his first season in a tough league. Given another pre-season under his belt I feel he will be a good player for us. Also, Vela is showing signs of being a very sharp little striker. I don't think the priority is DEFENDERS...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on, Ed. People only complain about Walcott when he's on the right, and justifiably. However, when his only task is to score rather than cross, he is brilliant. Goals against Blackpool, Blackburn, and Chelsea were all speedy centre forward types.

{Ed022's Note - Exactly. He is not a winger yet people slag him off for not being able to cross the ball. If memory serves Henry didnt cross many balls into the box but went on to be our record goalscorer. Not saying Theo will do the same but judge him after a season as a striker...}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2011 19:41:41
Everyone just take a breath about signings. There is plenty of time and players out there. If it means waiting till after CL qualification then fine. The important thing for me now is players seem to be leaving, Denilson gone, Bendtner drawing closer, Almunia is negotiations, Eboue is rumoured to be going, Squillacci must know his time is up. Once these have left and the deadline for Cesc passes our situation will become alot more clear. On the Centre back front i for one would love Jagielka, however that means selling either Djourou or Kos because they aren't gonna want to not even make the squad after being first teamers last season. At times both players looked in total control of games and very solid. It was there first season as main choice in our defence so maybe Wenger doesn't need to rush signings of CB whilst crazy prices are being touted. I feel with TV and either Kos or Djourou we have more than enough to qualify and no team ever loses the Premiership in August. So be patient and look forward, were still linked with good players both attacking and defensive and our squad came close last season so relax and wait and see. Be optimistic not pessemistic.

Paul

Ed have heard Usmanov is very close to securing the shares he needs to see the books and force way onto board do you have any news?

Hey Lads, Ed or anyone else, any update on the Joel Campbell transfer, apparently an unnamed English team have put in a bid and it is all now in doubt...

{No word as yet on the team that has offered, but someone apparently has and offered him more money... with Arsenal looking to send him back out on loan, if he could be offered a better wage and actual playing time in the Premiership he might choose to turn down the gunners, but reports do say that he is still expected to sign for Arsenal depending on him getting a work permit, which is also touch and go}

Believable37 Unbelievable13

We can only hope and pray this is true. Perhaps the most overrated player of all time? People say he's like Vieira In height maybe, thats where the similarities end. He cannot tackle, plays 2 games out for 7 injured, has no passion, shall I go on? Good riddance. Lets bring in a warrior in his place, someone who can rightly be compared to Vieira. Just a thought:
If Cesc or Nasri leaves we should be looking at Riccado Montolivo. He has one year left on his contract and refuses to sign a new one. He is availiable for £10-12 Mill.

Lol this post just shows how much you believe what you are told or being naive as we know it. Basically every1 talks about erikson but in all fairness he is no better then anyone else at the moment. He is average and not yet started to progress rapidly like "world class" players do. He dont score goals and is an AMF, 14 games for Denmark.....1 goal Downing is better and we chickened out. nearly 50 games for Ajax not even double figures for goals. Sorry not good enough, just because people are talking about him dont mean he's good it means he is the star of the Denmark side which says alot as Bendtner is there Marksman. Laudrup is the Danish standard and he can only wish to be that good.

There is hope that this could turn in to a permanent deal next summer.

He just signed a new deal with hart and kompany so no chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt this one. Right back position filled with Sagna covered back Jenkinson.

Agree0 Disagree0

ManC rejected 20mil from Liverpool in Jan, so 12-15m is just not enough. Man C already have enough money and unless Arsenal are prepared to offer a huge sum, there is no chance.

A deal for a central defender is imminent, a bid has been accepted for Jagielka and its just about agreeing personal terms now.

I've heard that squillaci could be part of this deal going the other way.

No strong bids have come in for Bendtner just yet but he could still be going to Germany or Holland.

Believable15 Unbelievable27

God help us if we sign Jagielka, he is no better than those we already have & adds no height to our defence. There is no way Everton will take the woeful Squilacci in exchange I would far prefer Cahill or Samba, ideally both As they will add mich needed height & dominance to our defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were to buy a english centre half Jagielka is the best you will get, better than Cahill and much better than Samba.I do agree with you though about Squillaci who you will have to give away to get rid of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry i would like to add that according to the Independent Jagielka doesnt want to come to the Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard something about The Arsenal being in for Fellani, and that they were prepared to offer Bendtner plus cash? Anybody else hear anything along these lines?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to sign fellaini, would give us a Vieira like prescence in central midfield alongside Song, reverting to our successful 4-4-2 formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

With fabregas and wilshere on the bench ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, i think he'd be a great addition to arsenal, we've sorely lacked that kinda nasty player in mid field that Viera did so well... A mate, who's a toffee, told me this was all being talked about up that end of the country, but ive heard nothing else... would love to see the boy at Arsenal, but probs wishful thinking

The signing of Gervinho has now been officially completed and announced on the club website.

Wengers next target will be a defender with Jagielka, hangeland and Cahill the most likely.

Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that
Ivory Coast international forward Gervinho has finalised his switch according to arsenal.com

Believable20 Unbelievable7

I can't see this on the website

Agree0 Disagree0

It is on the website as an official signing....

Check again..@@

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice that it only takes us 3 weeks to complete a signing when we have no competition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excited to see him in the arsenal team next year, dangerous player, with deadly feet and great shot, will be a success at the gunners

All hail the forehead

Just wondering is there any news on Alex Oxlade Chamberlains situation has he signed yet or what's going on it seemed to be done and dusted and then everything went quiet and wasn't done? {Ed002's Note - I understand that no acceptable bids have been placed for the lad.}

Believable6 Unbelievable10

He's over rated...10 mill? yea forget it.

Arsenal need defenders badly before buying more kids

Melo & his agent are in London, having talks with Arsenal. Were spotted at a restaurant Wenger uses in Whetstone, near his Totteridge home.

Believable28 Unbelievable26

I know thats where wenger lives.....find it unlikely the player would be there as well....not wengers style.

Agree0 Disagree0

Be nice if it's true, good player.

Agree0 Disagree0

They were at the same restaurant last year, when we tried to do a deal. Melo was chatting to a waitress in Italian. My wife is Italian, hence I speak the language.

Agree0 Disagree0

Camera phones ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Melo is the kind of player arsenal need to compete with song in that holding role he gets stuck in and fires up the crowd, would be able to hold his own in premiership definately

Agree0 Disagree0

Mello would right signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have not seen Melo play much but i seem to remember that the Ed replied to a rumour some time back where he said he didnt rate him?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope its true, he is exactly what we need in the middle

Agree0 Disagree0

Melo would be ideal to sit in front of the back four alongside Song.

Agree0 Disagree0

If ed or someone else says he s no good then thats there opinion.but ive been on about him on and off this site hard as nails and can play a bit too beleive me.hes just what we need as we have a soft centre but not with him on board.the only trouble with him he gets red carded too often.

Agree0 Disagree0

Despite what an ED sayas, first take some toime to wtach him play and then make your own mind. He would be great in front of the defense replacind Song.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't he spend more time suspended than playing?

{Ed022's Note - There has been a long standing interest for the last 18months at least... As for whether he will sign. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed as he is a Wenger style signing. Not a massive name, fairly cheap and will probably do a good job for us.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I seriously doubt Wenger would go anywhere near Whetstone

Get a grip the season has not even started.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought that supporters stuck with there team through thick and thin?

Mong Out

Agree0 Disagree0

Still have our main players, Transfer window is 18 days old, we have improved on last years squad Get a grip lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

In what way have we improved on last years squad? Our shonky defence is now one player down on last season, and that was our main problem. And the transfer window has been open longer than 18 days

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly the joker saying they have no hope for us next season....grow a pair. We all know it doesn't matter who we sign, we are top 4 material even with a bunch of kids any day of the week, and we will be next term.

Yes we lost Clichy but who cares, he was bringing nothing to the club, unrest in the dressing room, and he was leaking goals down the left, and not getting forward like he used to. Koscielny had a rollercoaster season but of Squillaci, Djourou and Koscielny, Kos showed by far the most promise of geting to grips with the prem. And he was by far our best defender against Barca when we beat them at Emirates. He needs to find consistency but this season I can see him being a new man compared to last year. Bring in a centre back and we will have a nice strong defence. Our midfield is already great, and even if we don't sign another striker there is still no reason why we can't compete at the highest level - Walcott is a class finisher on his day, and if he's played down the middle he'll do what he did against Chelsea with Fab last season time and time again. Gervinho looks like he's going to take Walcott's right wing spot which will probably see us skinning people down the right which Walcott hasn't done too well for a while. RVP needs no discussion, he finds goals from nothing, and Vela also has a class finish. Chamakh is amazing in the air, holds the ball up well and he bagged 13 goasl or something in half a season. We have it all, we need to take our chances, that's where our problem is.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have a bright season in front of us. Djourou plays good. he just needs some focus and mental consistency in his game so he could be next rio ferd. laurent kos. could be great too. He sometimes gets carried away and makes costly mistakes in my opinion he should have one rough and tough CB to partner him and to hold him down a bit. + we need to improve communication in back line. T. Verm. good oldschool libero. plays back tidy plus joins upfront whenever its possible if fit he can hold the back line with his coolness. SOng (as a holding midf.) should have someone to challenge him on that position, and in my opinion should join attack rearly since we have mobile, fast and attacking CB (vermalen) and he has not the flair which we need up front having in mind AFC attacking-minded style of game. also he is not that fast and looks funny when dribble the ball. We need some backline teambuliding and maybe one or two additonns (defint. one EPL exp.commanding CB + one strong defensive LB). Bendtner shoud be casted out or even better he should be forrbiden to play football at all. think he could do well in figure skating thou. Denilson should sell straw hats and souvenirs on Copacapabana or wherever he wants. Diaby could be great but he should have in mind that he is playing footy with 10 other guys in the team and should be passing that ball with more speed a accuracy. he scored some goals but all goals that he have scored for arsenal he scored after some of his teammates served him the f..... ball (correct me if im wrong), on the other hand i cant rememeber did he ever made an assist. All in all we need one or maybe two add ins. We have solid wingers theo should stay at the wing and improve his crossing. Arshavin def. needs a psychologist or 3-4 russian female exchange-students. Think chamakh could do great as targetman with flick ons to wingers, amf (nasri and/or fab.) and RvP. Wilshire will be arsenals leading star in couple of years. needs some AW polishing and sharper last pass (killer pass) but that comes with the time. We will see what ramsey has to offer this year/season. Sagna is solid, we will see what is jenkinson made of. Eboue - i like him a lot, he is a good player and versatile player he can do good as cover (RB, RMF, DMF, CMF). Think Ryo and Gervinho will be great if they stay fit bearing in mind physicaly intense EPL football. Traore should be loaned out to some Championship side for a season and only if he cements his place in the first 11 and shows he can be great in championship AW should consider holding onto him. Gibbs needs exp. he could be great too. Squill's time has passed a long ago. He should play + train some french ligue 3 sides.Vela lost his track i would do same as in Traore case - season long loan in championship if that goes well (20 + goals) i would consider him staying if not offload. Frimpong - never ever seen his game to be honest. We ll see him this year i hope if my cableoperator do what he is suposed to do. All in all we need two player back so we could challenge for honours this year. I think that 4th in EPL is not so bad having in mind spending power of Chelsea, Man City, Man utd. also i think it is worth much more than 1st in France, Germany, Portugal or even Italy. On the other hand being defeated in cup final by lower average EPL team is something that hurts. Winning mentality is needed asap and in every game. We can smash every team in England and worldwide we only have to know and be sure that we can do it.

Thats all from me. Greetings from Sarajevo.

As i have mentioned on this site before, wenger doesnt believe the team needs a overhaul, just strengthening.

Benzema, Eto'o, Hazard, and many others rumoured will not be brought.

The big signings will be:

Cahill - Arsene's first choice defender if he can seal a deal for a good price.

Mata - Young energetic player, Left winger, much needed.

Jose Enrique - Simply clichy's replacement.

Only other signings will be more youngsters, however not Lukaku or Subotic... Out of our price range (considering difference in leagues/experience/current quality).

More remotely unknown young starlets will crop up. Expect another 2-3

Believable36 Unbelievable12

There will be no Clichy replacement. Wenger has stated that quite clearly

Agree0 Disagree0

We better get them player

Agree0 Disagree0

Trust me we wont miss clichy, my Nan could get past him
