If RVP was to leave, Arsenal would try to go for Fernando Llorente as he is at a good age, would cost near enough the same amount of money as we could sell Van Persie for and the wages that we offered RvP can be offered to Llorente. Doumbia is also a target and would cost around £15 million.
I would like either one as they are both goalscorers but Llorente has proven himself to be world class.
Ed, would Llorente be interested in joining Arsenal and do you believe that a deal could happen if RvP was to leave? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea if he would be interested in joining a club that has shown no interest in him.}

Believable9 Unbelievable20

The beginning of your post states that arsenal would try and buy llorente. The end of your post asks if we would want to. A bit contradictory..

Agree0 Disagree0

No it doesn't, it asks if he would be interested in joining us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Wenger go for llorente over other strikers like Doumbia? Is it because you prefer him on FIFA and 'see his potential' or something ridiculous?

EMG

Agree0 Disagree0

Fernando Llorente worldclass - i dont think so.....very good but not worldclass even RVP isn't worldclass as this tournament has show and his own inconstancies at Arsenal again a very, very good player but not worldclass

Why are people saying that van Persie will leave because Giroud might be joining us and Podolski already joining us. Isn't this what van Persie wanted to see, quality players being bought. I know they both play striker but with all the other rumours saying that most of our strikers will be leaving (Chamakh, Vela, Park, Bendtner) we do actually need other strikers apart from van Persie. Just seems weird to me

Believable34 Unbelievable8

No, thats not what he wanted to see. He wanted to see a superstar midfielder or two. We let him down, he is a right to move on. Best of luck RVP!

Ash

Agree0 Disagree0

Podolski ok good player but Giroud? decent player who was exceptional last year granted but Will he really make any difference to RVP's thinking i doubt it. RVP would have his pick of most clubs, clubs with better players than us, more chance of winning trophies than us and clubs that can give him more money than we can. Loyalty can still keep him at Arsenal but im afraid these signings will not

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him down?? there's ages left in the window yet! besides this has been a very promising start to the window
D16

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye 6 years on the treatment table and one good season, you bang on ash must be the right thing to do and move on you tool! i wish people would stop just guessing at what is gonna happen with him truth is people dont know the papers make up BS and people like you lap it up

Agree0 Disagree0

If RVP thinks he controls the club get rid of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ash how would you know which specific position he wanted to see improvements in haha! we have wilshere coming back which is like a brand new signing and m'vila has nearly completed his move, so we will have two new midfielders next season plus strikers which we desperately needed, think a versatile defender is needed to cover sagna and maybe a back up keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him down? Its the middle of June? Honestly don't believe how some people lose faith so easily.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loyalty should keep him here because for the last four seasons he has been picking up a paycheck for doing f-all but being injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

In 8 years RVP has played a combined of 1 and half seasons the rest he's been injured. If it wasn't for our poor start last season I think we would have been up there towards the end we are not a million miles away from the title a few quality players and back up players incase of injury. We also need to start playing full strength squads in fa and carling cups not youth players that mostly can't do it

DD arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Ash.

Let him down, are you for real mate? It's not even the end of June and the transfer window isn't open until July 1...keep it together man for yor sake if nothing else!

I've heard zhirkov from russia is a possible signing for arsenal. heard anything about it Ed?

Believable10 Unbelievable30

Arsenal are announcing a signing of Olivier Giroud from Montpelier, great goalscorer he could be a replacement for RVP.

Carlos Vela's proposed move to Real Sociedad is all but complete by all accounts... The deal is for 3.5m Euro's (Around 2.9m GBP) plus a 30-40% sell-on fee.

Also NB52 has recently hired a second agent to really push for a move, it appears he was dead serious about never playing for the club again... Reports circulating in Denmark today are strongly linking Benfica with the Danish Striker...

Also claims they've already approached Arsenal and this could be completed within the next 7-10 days.

_DialSquare_ {Ed027's Note - fee for Vela is way to small

Believable21 Unbelievable13

Vela is worth upwards of £5m as a minimum.

D

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take any money for players like Vela just to get them off our books and free up the wages kitty. Also around 7 -10m for Bender seems fair

Chess

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah vela ain't gonna for less than £5m at the least, so what you say is unfortunatly for you not true

Agree0 Disagree0

We should put a buy-back clause on him...

Agree0 Disagree0

Goodbye NB52...was never good enough and will never be....

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but the club won't release players like Squillaci to get them off the books but they WILL take a £7m cut price offer for a talented young striker who could have become someone here, just to get him off the books? It's either utter nonsense or yet more disgraceful business from our club, one or the other.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just get him off the books with a high sell on fee..thats about right.

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^
Are you too stupid to know the difference between "Releasing a player" and "selling a player".

To release Squillaci we have to pay out the remainder of his contract. Selling Vela we get wages of the book and a transfer fee.

And Vela has had plenty of chances to make it England. He's not suited, period.

RVP is on his way to city after they have offered him 215 thousand pounds a week on a 3 year deal!
Arsenal will sell for around 28.5 million.

Believable20 Unbelievable49

Why would we sell to them again and hes dad has said he will not go to man city i give up if he does why sell and make them stronger you dont see city selling to other prem clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

Dude that is bs. he would NEVER go to city. NEVER! you will se he will stay with us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even though the reports today suggest that Wenger is adamant that van Persie will be sold for nothing less than £30 million, so that's your rumour out the window

Agree0 Disagree0

This post is soo crap wenger said he would never sell another player to man city. besides it makes no since sell our best player to man city lolol have to say they say some crap ere sometimes lolol

Agree0 Disagree0

What do mean it makes no sense to sell our best players to Man City?? Nasri?? Clichy??? etc etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Considering city have come out and said they will not go over £15 million for rvp i think its highly doubtfull

Yeah, I posted here last week that Super Eagles star John Utaka told me after training with the super Eagles ahead of the Rwanda match that Olivier Giroud is on the verge of agreeing personal terms and putting pen to paper on a 4year deal with Arsenal worth 12.4million pounds. ED and a few others didn't believe me... I av as update, the player has directed his agent to agree a 60,000 thousand pounds weekly wage and discuss other clauses which includes 70 percent assurance on regular starting time and playing position. I also spoke with Victor Moses who says he is also dreams Arsenal and will be glad to move to London from Wigan. Now take it, I am ready to bet with my left eye on Giroud joining soon

Believable16 Unbelievable14

Based on the details given in your last post, i did believe you. For those that derided that post, they just seem to be a bunch of lazy people that cannot verify basic info to ascertain the authenticity of a story.

Agree0 Disagree0

I tried to defend you because I know how close Nigerians are with players but I think ed pointed out a flaw in your rumour were you said he signed before the window opened.

Agree0 Disagree0

It has just be reported on skynews now Oliver Giround deal is a done deal

Agree0 Disagree0

But you didn't sign you're post so how do we know you said such as thing .. any one can claim these things!

Luka Modric's former Croatia team-mate Mate Bilic claims the Tottenham midfielder is close to moving to Spain amid speculation linking him with Real Madrid.

Does this mean the ozil rumour might have something init?? Ed?

Danny H {Ed001's Note - it would be more likely that he would be seen as a replacement for Alonso, who is getting on a bit now. Oezil plays further forward than Modric does.}

Believable13 Unbelievable14

Seems like they have too many players for the CM position:

Alonso
Sahin
Khediera
Granero
Diarra

Real madrid would have to let at least granero and diarra go.

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Khedira then? Kaka? etc

Oezil isn't coming to Arsenal.

ed any news of robim van"s and walcott"s situation .r they staying?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - No, there is no news. I am sure RVP will be taking a vacation now and that Walcott is busy at the moment.}

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Now that Holland are out of the Euro's,do you think the rvp issue will be sorted soon,or will it drag on until August.
Braintreegooner {Ed002's Note - There is no immediate rush to resolve it. After RVP has taken a vacation then he can sit down and see what the club has to offer.}

Believable14 Unbelievable5

It is very difficult to say - RVP has not won enough trophies given his talent. Matching his ambitions matches the fans ambitions as well.

But... can we really win the premier league. Looking at the strenghtening of the other big 4; it is difficult to say.

Man city are already very strong.
Chelsea have made 2 VERY good additions in Hazard and Marin.
Man Utd have added Kagawa, and I suspect they will get Modric.

Given this - the Premiership may not be realistic (sad but true guys...)

Then we have to look at the cups. Here, I think we are as good as anybody and can beat anyone in Europe (particularly if the rumours of M'Vila and Giroud are true!)

Billybob

Agree0 Disagree0

Braintreegooner....whats your real name? I live Braintree and probably know you!

Si-Fan

Agree0 Disagree0

There actually is an immediate rush. To say otherwise, is to suggest that last summers antics were totally acceptable - and that last minute decisions are justifiable. Arsenal FC and its fans need to know the future of robin van persie. I have a suspicion that the club already knows...and its only the fans in the dark.

Agree0 Disagree0

ED... RvP is going on holiday NOT taking a vacation... that is all {Ed002's Note - Off to the sea side is he?}

who would be happy if walcott left with j. farfan from shalke replacing him?

baz136 {Ed002's Note - Farfan has signed a new contract.}

Believable3 Unbelievable45

Just how would that make anyone happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

We were linked with him a few months ago on a free i did not realize he signed a new contract at shalke.......also he is strong, fast and skillful whereas walcott is just fast.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not me

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol at walcott is just fast. some person once said that and 100 idiots repeat that s**t. this is bs. walcott has enourmous sklills with the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott is slowly improving..but he is replaceable. Listen to him harp on about being one of the senior members of the arsenal team, and one of the most highly capped in the england team at the euros...you would never guess it to look at him. He's an impact sub for england, and he's an injury waiting to happen for arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you say he as enormous skills with the ball because of his cameo performance for England the other night? walcott is at the same size and skill level as he was at 18 just watch the ox flourish and then you will see real development.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jun 2012 23:56:58
Theo Walcott to Chelsea for £15 million.

Believable13 Unbelievable53

More like 25!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd want closer to £20m, the last year or so, he has shown signs of becoming a football player !

Agree0 Disagree0

YEAH after they signed Hazard this is total nonsence, but i wish it was true

Agree0 Disagree0

If Henderson can go £20 mil' and Carroll for £35 mil' then how could Walcott be sold for only £15 mil' when he's better than both of those other two put together?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Van Persie will leave arsenal In the upcoming transfer window.

Believable27 Unbelievable46

Hopefuli we can milk him for 30+mil, but i feel after he leaves arsenal will bring in enough quality to win the league, but unfortunately rvp wudnt b apart of dat!
