twitter rumours suggest higuin set for medical - believe when I see it

jakey

Believable78 Unbelievable55

No he isn't its fellaini were getting.
Glenn The Gunner

Agree1 Disagree2

Higuain will go nowhere until Real Madrid appoint a new coach.

Agree1 Disagree2

You may not be invited to watch his medical - some players are shy.

Agree4 Disagree0

I am convinced we'll be signing Higuain and Fellaini. There is such a huge divide on Cesar, some people involved in the game are convinced he's coming and others saying definitely no.
We won't be getting Rooney or Cesc, in my opinion, although I'd love to see Cesc come back. I'm intrigued to see what'll be said by United and Rooney if he stays at United.

Paul

Agree3 Disagree2

Lols at the 3rd reply there. well played :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not convinced we will sign anyone. You have fallen into the trap of 100% assumption that players we have been linked to by the media, are players that Wenger FC wants to bring to the club. If we sign neither fellaini or Higuain or jovetic (that went quiet quickly didn't it) - then you have followed the same path as previous season posters have followed, via hazard, cahill, mata, m'villa et al.

Agree1 Disagree2

Jakey- what you're saying seems to be such a contradiction - on one hand, you state that higuin is having a medical (logically I guess you must have some knowledge/source for this?), but on the other, you state, believe it when I see it!
Which is it! Either he's having a medical or he isn't!

Or is it more, "apparently" Higuin is having a medical, according to blah blah.?

Sorry not trying to be an arse, but how people word things, for me at least, can tell me how credible something is or not.

What you're saying is just too vague/contradictorily.

Agree1 Disagree1

Shay Given also having a medical

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuan may not happen, not convinced he would be a hit in EPL, he doesn't even play that great in a less competitive league even when surrounded by the likes of Ronaldo, ozil, Di Maria, Modric feeding him the ball, so what makes u think a lightweight, non-pacy striker would cut it in the more physical and demanding EPL with our midfield feeding him when he didn't do that impressively with madrids midfield? and if u say he didn't start much, it's probs because he didn't do much in the training ground either. think about it BUT it will still be nice to see wenger spend 25mil to shut some people up! But I hope I'm proven wrong and he's a bit hit

Agree0 Disagree1

Higuain not pacey? lightweight? are we talking about the same player in 187 games has 107 goals? and since when was la liga a less competitive league? Higuain will be a fantastic addition to our first XI (if he arrives). Let us dreamers dream!

so the pictures of him on twitter signing a few autographs at heathrow are legit then? looks legit, but then i'm easily deceived.

need to clarify in view of responses - never said he was set for a medical I wrote that twitter suggested he was set for a medical - my comments were meant to relay that I do not believe this rumour until it is on the afc website signed sealed delivered its just speculation.

thanks for the replies though - feedback always good!

neither Cesc or Rooney will come.
I do hope we will take some risks this summer and bring big players (jovetic/higuain, fellaini etc. ) in. Otherwise any decent players in our team will start leaving because of club "not showing ambition in transfer market"
same old story, or maybe not?
Best,
Hubert

Higuain to arsenal a done deal. Announcement will be made once Real Madrid have a manager.

10 million and gervinho for valbuena is looking more likely than not

Don't expect to see Rooney or jovetic in an arsenal shirt

Fabregas is still a possibility to return but that would happen near the end of the transfer window

Wenger will sign a new rb to take over for Sanga

Possible chance at bidding for nani for around 8-10 million

Believable94 Unbelievable43

Apparently Sagna has announced he's staying? Anyone else heard this?

Higuain yes, but I don't see cesc coming back and it is more likely that we would see Rooney in a Arsenal shirt next season than cesc

Agree3 Disagree2

All of your post can be gleaned from a 30 second scan of the heading on Arsenalnews.

Agree1 Disagree0

All of the above possible. Don't see Fab returning this year. Nani would be a great signing. Talent and loads to prove, he'd be hungry for it. We need to add someone, like him, who can score from nothing. Unlike Gervinho, who can contrive to miss the almost unmissable. Priorities are:
1. a keeper - UGRGENT.
2. 2 defenders.
3. A dominant and aggressive midfielder
4. A striker.

With these 5 players in, and up to 10 off the wage bill, we could not only challenge, but also have a tighter and more unified group. Just hoping it's not all rumours and we're left with someone like demba ba in a frantic last day loan deal.

Agree2 Disagree1

We had the second best defense in the league, people were just exaggerating about our defense as it is solid and proved so once Kosc and Merts got used to each other.

Fabregas could leave Barca they have Thiago to sell or Fabregas.

Sagna is likely to stay and is in negotiations now.

Agree1 Disagree0

Id take demba ba on if he were cheap. bit of a super sub about him and proven prem goal scorer. Be dirt cheap to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney will not be at Arsenal and won't spend £40 million to bring Cesc in. FACT!

Agree0 Disagree0

As for rb if sagna goes jenskinson will get his chance

Agree1 Disagree0

40m to bring Cesc in? You've not been keeping up have you.

And to whoever said Nani would be a great signing, please don't encourage this. I spent most of 2012/13 laughing at him and his final ball. He's like Theo a few years ago. Thank God Theo has started to mature.

as we all no Higuain will be coming to Arsenal as Juventus has pulled out. He stated a while ago, he is interested in Arsenal as he likes the way we play and he can see himself scoring a lot of goals.

Felliani will not be coming in as the 24 million is too much and Everton change their way of play for Fellani to make him look good. The same as Newcastle did for Carroll and look what happened there.

Illarramendi ( 23 year old, playing in the U21 tournament at the moment )

Gervinho will be sold, look at the amount of games he has played 15 games this season.

Loic Remy would be a good options for a back up striker, we only have 2 at the moment if we get Higuain.

Pebbles

Believable24 Unbelievable49

'as we know'. I dont

Agree1 Disagree0

'Everton change their way of play for Fellani[sic] to make him look good. '
Really? So Everton aren't interested in being competitive as a team, they just want to make Fellaini look good?
Fellaini is good - end of.

Agree6 Disagree0

I agree that Remy would be a very good back up striker. He has shown what he is capable of doing. Plus he would be cheaper than usual due to QPRs relegation

Agree2 Disagree0

Fellaini is an arsenal player. Done deal, as for people saying we will never sign him then you will eat you words within 2 weeks.

Agree2 Disagree1

He is a decent finisher but has never been prolific at all, the most he scored in a full season in all competitions is 20 goals Walcott has scored more from the wing.

He is on trial for RAPE!

This is the kind of player you want to bring to our club!

I love the argument back on Fellani, your exactly right. Fellani is an Arsenal player though Pebbles

Agree0 Disagree1

I know Fellaini is good, but so is Carroll but Everton have adapted their game to focus on Fellaini which makes him shine. At Arsenal we play differently so I personally don't think he will fit in and be as good as he is at Everton.

Pebbles

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Everton adapted their game to accommodate for Fellani's style of play your right Pebbles but that is because he is their best player and so their whole game would seemingly run around his presence.

He is better than Carrol and prefers the DM role he will fit well into Arsenal's squad.

Arsenal are going to announce the signing of Higuain in the next 72 hours as we are just waiting on djourou to make up his mind if he is staying at the club. If not higuain will take the number 20 shirt.

Believable45 Unbelievable35

Is that a joke?

Agree2 Disagree0

This made me laugh, thanks. Higuain signing reliant on Djourou lol. I think he might have to give that up either way:)

18 Jun 2013 17:04:19
Rubbish. that wouldn't have any bearing on ant announcement of a player. km

Agree2 Disagree0

That makes little or no sense. Also, the transfer window doesn't officially open until 1 July and unlikely anything will be announced until then.

justagooner

Agree2 Disagree2

Funny thing is that the same people will say after conf. cup when is doesn't happen in the 72hr time.
then say it will happen next week and so on. then it will happen on deadline day. same story all over again

Agree1 Disagree2

We announced Giroud before he was given a shirt number.

Agree1 Disagree0

£70 million in the kitty, numerous potential transfers nearing completion, but everything is on hold re a problem with shirt numbers.
Don't insult our intelligence.

Agree4 Disagree0

Love the last comment

Josh09

Agree1 Disagree1

Yea, could be true. Got news of a hold up in the Fellaini dealing due to a lack of size medium socks. Once that is resolved it should be all set.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be truec. I know that the Arsenal shop had a problem with the machine that presses the numbers on the shirts as I was in the shop the other day and Jack Wilshere said he would take it home for his dad to fix. Evidently Jacks dad is double handy with DIY

Agree0 Disagree0

Gervinho to be sidelined for entire season due to global XXL headband shortage.

I spoke to a recently released player arsenal player at a function yesterday and he said that wenger told the squad at the beginning of last season he only had 2 more seasons left at arsenal

So for all the haters sounds like he's off. Hope he leaves on a high leaving a vastly improved squad

Suffolk gooner

Believable11 Unbelievable102

Wenger obviously could leave anytime. The reason I'm suspicious of this rumour is because there is no benefit in him mentioning this to his players, only negatives. Fergie made that mistake the first time he spoke about his retirement.
Flybo

Agree3 Disagree0

Why would he tell you that?

now let's believe wenger tells the entire squad his every thought.

Liar Joe : So Squillaci how was your Arsenal experience.

Squillaci : it was the s*** man. I got paid for chilling.

Liar Joe: I must say I enjoyed watching you play. we should have kept you on longer, your my idol man.

Squillaci : na dawg, don't cry, i'm off to madrid man, where dreams come true.

Liar Joe : (wiping away the tears) can you tell me something amazing so I can put it on this forum I know, and the other anonymous people will adore me.

Squillaci : Wenger told me he got two more years dawg, he aspires to be the regional manager for ASDA after his arsenal days.

Liar Joe: wow exciting news.

Squillaci: Remember, stranger, no matter where you go, what you do or who you are with, you don't have to try your best, just make sure you can make the best use of every situation, think of it as living the life of a bum.

Agree5 Disagree0

Won't he be starting the last year of his contract this season? So if he said that at the start of last season he was probably telling the truth under the assumption that further contract talks had yet to be discussed.

Mike

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with flybo- I highly doubt this is true. I cannot imagine for one moment that wenger would reveal that- also, this would've have been leaked some time ago- its the sort thing jorno's seem to get wind off.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lies. Simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also he might just mean his contract had 2 years left to run. Ridiculous rumour.

Agree2 Disagree0

I spoke to wengers mum and he has changed his mind he wants to continue lol

Love you Lakerville your posts crack me up!

Agree2 Disagree1

Absolute complete drivel. Wenger has one year left on his current deal & there is no way he would discuss with anyone his intentions. Particular not with a departing player. My own instincts are he will go, when he no longer feels physically and mentally up to the job or if the fans drive him out or if he fancies returning to France with PSG.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arshavin can speak neither English or French and even Wenger doesn't speak Russian.
Utter piffle.
