Ed do you think Ozil is lazy?
Mourinho stated he was the best number 10 he has ever managed and he is not relly setting the place alight for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - not lazy as such toff, but he does look disinterested at times..

20 Aug 2015 06:42:28
I do not believe he is lazy, he just plays a different style of play to the one played by most English players. The English tend to prefer 'dogs of war' such as James Milner, rather than Ozil. 66 caps for World Cup winners Germany says it all.

He's not lazy. His stats prove that... His off ball running (Km) is up near our highest players every game. Problem is he makes it all look so easy or that he doesn't care. To me he was the best player on the pitch against palace.

Expectations are so high with him that unless he does something exceptional it doesn't get noticed. And like Sunday the commentators never give him credit for what he does. He set up giroud they said it was 'an incredible ball by Sanchez' then he put Sanchez through on the left and they claimed 'world class pass from cazorla'

So don't judge him by what he does on television. Go watch the games and watch his movement and then you'll appreciate him a lot more

Agree Elliot. I think so many people that criticise Him need to see him play and stop listening to pundits on bt or MOTD. He doesn't get the credit he deserves

The problem with the media is everyone is judged by goals. If a player scores they seem to be automatically mom. If ozil hit 15 a season everyone would be wetting themselves over him.

as i manage to make near enough every home game and some away i'm with Elliot he doesn't get any where near enough credit as he deserves and maybe that's why he is'disinterested' but you should see all the off the ball runs that guy makes to create space and his vision for the entire game is always spot on he never looses concentration 👍

Exactly JGunner. And some of his first touch passing is just on another level. His biggest problem is Giroud (now before you think I'm slating him, I really do like Giroud but he just isn't on the same wavelength as Sanchez and Ozil) and welbeck aren't able to read his passing quick enough so his through balls often go misplaced... Not because the pass was poor but mainly because our movement lacks the ability that Ozil thrives on. I mean come on there was reason CR7 hated seeing him go.

Hi ed0025
What do u mean by "the signs do look good" is something positive happening behind the senses?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a lot of media outlets and people within the game seem to think a deal is very possible AG..

19 Aug 2015 10:46:44
46mil apparently abit over the top only if we payed up for Suarez

19 Aug 2015 11:11:05
i get that it would be possible, anything is possible...however madrid would need a striker before they offload a striker.

even if ronaldo plays as a striker they still need a backup wouldn't they?

Paying was irrelevant with Suarez.
Liverpool didn't want to sell him to us, pure and simple.
Admittedly, £40,000,001 was taking the mick a bit, but I dare say we could of stumped up £50m and still not got him.

IF we are going to sign benzema this summer, we'll be getting a player Madrid don't WANT to sell (though by all accounts, they're open either way) with a great pedigree and is hitting his prime.
I'm afraid the days of getting top players for modest fee's is pretty much dead, if you want a class player these days, you've got to fork out for it.
£45m may seem a lot, but he's a player that's ideal for us and if we're only signing him (and Cech) then it's not like we're going to break FFP rules.

Winning 2 x FA cups and 2 x Communtiy shields since we started splashing some cash isn't a coincidence, these big players want to win, they want to prove they're still top level and they just boost the other lads!
Quite frankly, whilst I've never been keen on splashing mad amounts of cash, the 2 we've spent big on so far have been absolute top draw so if we WERE to spend £50m on Benzema, more power to us!

i think we did want suarez, liverpool dug in, decided to keep him, got their players to convince him to stay or they did it of their own accord, and they went on to 2nd spot.

even with champions league he still left them and joined barcelona.

i reckon we could have signed him, had him for a year and he would have chomped him way to barca.

either way, he is gone, no point thinking back.

we have a chance, i do hope we land benzema. man utd, man city, liverpool and chelsea have a target man who can deliver 18-25 goals a season.

while giroud will do the same he needs twice as many attempts.

for me giroud is on par with benteke, but we need someone who is going to compete with aguero and costa and that can only be benzema.

I just can't see is getting him. Would love it though but just seen so many rumours all summer and nothing coming of it so far

Mostly agree lakes, but starting to think Costa is a glorified poacher and serial WUM. Not on the same level as Aguero, not even close.

IMO the only strikers around right now who would improve the squad are Benz, Lewandowski, and that's it. If we don't get one of those two I'd rather just see Theo given more opportunities.

Hi eds do you see any more players leaving arsenal this window

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Campbell.}

19 Aug 2015 03:24:05
Campbell and Flamini.
I would have let Arteta and Rosicky leave as well.

Agree2 Disagree2

19 Aug 2015 06:34:02
Arteta still has a role to play, we need some experience on he bench at least

Flamini needs to do one. Although, Ozil may spiral into deep depression if his best chum leaves.
