Just heard the reason Arsenal are holding out on buying anyone is because there is going to be a new owner very soon, there will be a huge amount of money coming our way, and any player we want we can buy.
Expect a take over imminently.

Believable35 Unbelievable77

We already have a huge amount of Money for players. Why, acoording to you Archway, don't we use them? Is 70-100 mil not enough too buy players?

I'm sorry but this is bs. Some ed said the same thing a month ago and nothing has happened and nothing will happen. A sale of that size takes time and it has no chance too be concluded before september 2.

Jimmy

Agree3 Disagree1

Financial fair play, anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you hear this exactly? Was it mystic Meg? If posters want to suggest inside knowledge it might be useful to be clear how they have access to that knowledge. This is total rubbish. The reason we aren't spending is we are hanging and for a transfer that won't happen, and we are just rubbish at transfers.

The Ghost of Terry Mancini

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with jimmy- you think buying a club valued at 1. 5 billion is like walking into a shop and buying a chocolate bar?

It would take months. At best, if that happens it will be the jan window where would see the possible benefits, but more likely next summer.

Agree0 Disagree1

Think you could be correct but with Wenger going. that's why no signings

Agree1 Disagree0

There has been some shares being bought and the speculation is its going to Usmsnov (indirectly). Once he has his 30 + he will make a formal take over and buy out the rest. his phenomenal wealth will inflate prices of players we will be going in for, so you will not here any news until its done or there abouts, some of you so called fans are so single minded, you need to look at the bigger picture, Arsensl WILL be a force very soon.
I'm in the stocks and shares game by the way.

Agree0 Disagree1

Is that why we haven't bought a good player for the last 8 years?

Agree0 Disagree1

We haven't brought a good player for 8 years? you mean spent ridiculous amounts!i can think of plenty of good players we have brought

as I all ready said some of you need look a little bigger, we have built and paid for a new stadium, and surrounding infrastructure, we new when we moved it was going to take a long time to compete financially, now is the time.
@jimmy comparing buying a club of value as going into a shop is naive. it's been in discussions since mr dien left.
@the ghost of terry I don't talk bs as you put it. i've read this site for a very long time, and I find it funny how you so called supporters are so quick to put the club down. support the club we have been through a very tough few years, and arsenal don't need bad vibes any longer it doesn't help. rant over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Feel sorry for you gooners, you are completely deluded! How did your try answer budget go from £60 million to £70-100 million? On top of that you have wenger moaning about the money real are spending, is it fair play? Then you expect him to go out and do the same? Reality check needed!

Agree0 Disagree0

The club have spent plenty of money on second rate players that they were hoping would be better instead of spending an extra couple of mill at the time on a far better player due to the clubs policy. Which is also a reason a lot of the good players left due to wages. The club only have themselves to blame

arsenal have changed our mind about suarez not willing to pay 50 for him so we have set our minds on the fabulous player lewandowski told to me by the insider the chief excitatives son which has a loud mouth, he's giving lots of info to my child at the arsenal acadamy in the next few weeks YORKSHIRE GOONER

Believable9 Unbelievable53

So you have news from the future?

What team does your son play for?

How old is your son?

So in other words, wenger isn't going to buy anyone but promise us a top talent next summer only for him to move to bayern and we are left with no1, again. Sounds believable

Agree0 Disagree0

It would just be a bit more convincing if this was in English or you had taken the trouble to spell Executive. What is a 'excitative' exactly? I just struggle to see why the eds post this kind of rubbish. Now I've nothing against speculation but rubbish is rubbish, and it isn't even vaguely funny.

The Ghost of Terry Mancini

Agree0 Disagree0

I quite like the idea of a 'Chief Excitative"; someone who leads all the excitable people busily beavering away on transfers that will never happen.

I don't think Luis suarez will join arsenal, I think the more realistic will be wayne rooney. I believee this for two reasons.

1. Last summer I heard a well credited rumour that RVP was too leave for Arsenal to join MANU, as a leaving present for sir alex, obviously it had to be at the right price, and wenger loves to sell at that age, this was covered briefly by the sun, and as some of you know, some managers happen to be very close frieds. Now this is just a theory but I think part of the deal, (and ill back this up in part 2) but I think that Man United agreed to let wayne rooney be available to arsenal at a similar price tag.

2. I live in a suberd just outside london, I mostly hang out in a place called woodford. An estate agent round there is a friend of mine, and her work friend recently took wayne and colleen to a rich part of a place called chingford. This is a perfect location for an arsenal player, chelsea is the other side of london, only Tottenham nearby. he's also said he'd love to live in London when his next child is born. His child was just born.

This is all strictly opinion and correct, credible infomation. Feel free to oppose to it, I welcome ideas that could change my perspective.

Great site Ed's!

Believable13 Unbelievable56

I live in Chingford and think I know the estate agent you are talking about, they handle most of the Spurs players as its where their training ground used to be up until this year.

Many Arsenal football players have lived in the area in the past, not so much these days, more now choose to live in Hertfordshire instead, closer to our training ground.

In short, just about plausible as a location, but doubtful of the player you name, I could never believe he is a serious target for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

Chingford? That's Essex and closer to the spuds! Surely not? But its not too far away from arsenal's training ground.

Chelsea's is miles away in surrey.

But hey if true about the house, in itself it may not mean anything- a lot footballers buy property.

tbh though I think I would prefer rooney to suarez, so I hope it turns out to bee true.

You won't believe I just ha this very same thought about an agreement AW and Fergie before I opened this page and read your post. It is a strong possibility. Exchange a player who is looking to win things with one who has.

Mate. which part of Chingford is rich.
Chigwell maybe. but not Chingford. or perhaps Wayne felt at home on the Chingford Hall Estate.

most if not all arsenal players live near totteridge on the northern line.

rooney is not signing for arsenal, wenger believes in sanogo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh god the old 'I know an estate agent ' one! Wow there is some rubbish here today. Wayne Rooney living in Chingford is even madder than him coming to Arsenal

The Ghost of Terry Mancini

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha Rooney would suit Chingford Mount. spurs training ground is in Chigwell. I hope he don't move to Chigwell the price of my house will go down! ha ha ha ha ha

Big Al T

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate you are talking about Rooney as nobody asks him anything, I'm sure he can choose where to go and we are his last option

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 13:47:25
What a load of crap! There is not one premier league professional footballer living in Chingford, maybe Chigwell, or maybe a Leyton Orient footballer!

A leaving present to SAF? please that is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard

Agree0 Disagree0

Chingford Hall Estate. Nice one, whoever said that. Could just see him and Colleen getting down and dirty with CHE Massive. ha

Agree0 Disagree0

No way, Chelsea are after him and it doesn't matter if MU want to give him as a present the player has to want to go which I don't think he would IMO. Chelsea also have the advantage of cashley being one of his best mates, they also have " the happy one " back which is a lure. Arsenal need a cb, lw, cf and quick time just can't really see who it's going to be as of now, most clubs have moved pretty fast this window

"Good news or bad news for some but there is a chance arsenal may remove the renewed contract offer made to Wenger a few months ago. Why? Well board have requested once again the squad be added to and gave the funds to spend"

"Also Wenger is not playing ball in current transfer dealings. Plus there is his training ground behaviour such as lack of defensive training etc. Club are really looking at letting his contract end. "

What do you guys think, good or bad news?

JustAGooner

Believable44 Unbelievable53

If that is true than get him out now don't wait spend the money or leave let someone else do the job

Agree2 Disagree1

Something is wrong at the club, Wengers preference for building players has now become an obsession it would appear, Our neighbours have added to and have funds to spend if Bale goes (I’m sure he will) if Soldado joins THS, as much as I hate to say it, its great business, its been done to stifle dissent amongst the players and fans, good business plus Paulinho as well. Consider this, what have we done when we have sold our marquee players PV TH, CF RVP?. ? Another thing whilst I’m venting my spleen, my mate made another great point. can you name one top, top, top signing Arsenal ( Arsene) have made in any transfer window? Andre Ashavin!
I’m a gooner for life, my family were born in Leegard Road but, I feel something is not right at the club, Ivan Gazidis firmly put the ball in Wengers court, when he said, we have enough funds to make top, top signings and compete with the top sides in the EPL, over to you,
spleen vented.

Agree2 Disagree0

This is the worst tease of all. Please don't get my hopes up on this.

But alas, I am realistic. I am digging in for more years of pain. I am sure this won't happen. I don't believe it is only Wenger who is to blame for our philosophy. We will first go out of the champions league for a few years and then be a team who can't attract top players (like suarez).

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree it's time he went!

Agree1 Disagree1

Not sure what to make of this. but if it is true then wenger must leave! we need strengthening and something needs to change to the way we approach transfers!
Brad

Agree1 Disagree0

I just cannot see the logic in this. Why would he not buy players if his job depended on it? Surely if he thinks the current squad is as good as its getting, why not add some depth?

There is just no logical reasoning as to why Wenger would not spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Love how they make up these things lol

Agree1 Disagree0

If wenger goes the club will get worse not better. there's noone i'd rather see at arsenal than wenger for the time being. people need to stop getting hyped on the media and listen to what the key people are actually saying and not forget the values of our club

in arsene we trust

Agree2 Disagree3

01 Aug 2013 20:06:44
I The emperors coat. Too much power. How can the club justify the ticket prices at these levels when we get in one free transfer. we need a defensive midfielder. Fact. we need another central defender. fact. We need atop quality forward. fact. i'm still not sure about our keeper and Wenger must have reservations because he has dropped him on 2/3 occasions. What really sticks in my throat is both City and spurs have brought both forwards and def/midfielders. all international players. Km

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's nonsense. AW doesn't play any part in transfer dealings, it's not his job. I think AW is again being made a scapegoat for the club not willing to part with funds. Was the bids for Higuain and Suarez token bids? Bids they know will not be accepted?

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

Excellent news if it was true!

Agree1 Disagree0

As a fan: I feel I am bitterly disappointed in Wenger and his illusions. He comes out with statement after statement, everyone is more personic than the other. "we can win the league with or without new players". "our new youngsters are making our team stronger"
I've had it with him. the jerk needs to go and go now, before the club becomes more of a laughing stock.
He is having us on, he is going after players, knowing full well the clubs will not sell them and or bidding silly money, knowing they will not be acceptable. so come the start of the season and he would say "we tried. what else can we do?". Why is it every club that want a player (that they can afford), just go out and get them, while we go through protracted futile saga, ending up with them slipping through our hands?

Wizzy

Agree1 Disagree0

What are you babbling on about, we finally are being linked with world class players and bids ARE being made, if clubs are playing hardball that's hardly Wengers fault! plus its only half way through the transfer window, wait until september 2nd

Put up or Shut up

We will sign players, great ones

Agree1 Disagree3

I can't see it as the board bend over backwards to wenger. if he was at say, real, barca, man utd, man city, chelsea or even spurs they would have sacked him years ago.
great manager in past but he has run his course, in my opinion.
I have a theory about wenger, you may or may not agree. he has an unhealthy obsession with finding "raw talent" and turning them into superstars and than selli ng them on for major profit. from a business point of view you have to give him credit as that is what a business is all about and his track record, to be fair is amazing, eg anelka, nasri, clichy. however, this is detrimental to running a football club, especially one steeped in tradition as Arsenal.
wengers biggest problem is that he wants to keep this reputation as a "starmaker" eg, he will not buy established players like suarez, rooney etc because he knows they will do very well at arsenal and possibly win us things but he will not get any credit because they are already superstars. his ego is why we don't go for the big players and just keep getting unknown 18 year ols from france etc. this is just my theory and open to discussion but until wenger sorts out his massive ego and steps back into the real world we will never compete with man utd, man city, chelsea and dare I say it, spurs (saldado transfer just agreed and he is bloody good).
in my opinion. thank you mr wenger, heres your p. 45, please shut the door on the way out.
chas

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate to say it but I think Wenger's time is up, we have money to spend yet he seems retiscent to strengthen the squad. Players like Higuain would of been fantastic additions to our squad, players like Suarez most certainly won't be

Agree0 Disagree0

Safest way out, one more year of over achieving due to Arsene's genius followed by the end of his contract, followed by a new approach and money in the coffers for a new manager. Shame really but champions league for 17 consecutive seasons, 3 Premier League titles (3 more than Liverpool) in apparently the best league in the world whilst building a new stadium and paying for it is deemed as not good enough. I think we can WIN anything with the squad we have, it's a shame the Emirates "faithful" don't feel the same and show their true support when it's needed. If the home fans showed the same passion as the Gunners magnificent away fans then that might be as good as that over inflated transfer fee for that over payed "marquee signing" that we are waiting for. UP THE ARSE!

Agree0 Disagree1

Darren Mackenzie hasn't got a clue.

I read some of his earlier stuff regarding Transfers, here is one from back in June.

"Cesar has agreed to join arsenal and will be announced shortly.

Villa has also has agreement in place to join us. Still waiting on paperwork from Barca"

What total BS!! (Check it yourselves)

So don't write off AW just yet! COYG

ARSENAL ACE

Agree0 Disagree0

So the great "Darren Mackenzie (Arsenal insider)" aka 'Dazzadub' has spoken and it all must be true. Come on people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see it happening.

Agree0 Disagree1

Both gazidas and wenger said months ago they wouldn't be looking to make signings till after asia tour. They got back days ago. Man u haven't bought anyone are they panicing? there's a full month to go! Chillout. If no one at end ov month then join the wenger out crew. Kb888

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but I have to admit that it sounds like yet again it is wenger not buying the quality we need. It's not good enough and injury prone muppets like sonogo are not good enough. He's simply put, another chamakh. I honestly thought this summer was going to be different but wenger just CAN NOT PULL HIS HEAD OUT OF HIS STUPID FROG A**E!

Bring in klopp and dump wenger as he's had enough chances to change his way now. If things need to get worse in the mean time to get better in the long run well so be it but I am fed up with watching him DESTROY MY CLUB!

Kent gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney! You may will be right. Sadly the only way we're really find out, is when wenger goes and we're see how the new manager does in the transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

People who still back wenger need to catch a grip. 'We can challenge for the title with the squad we have' haha. Why didn't we challenge last year then. We have more than £70 mill to spend. Wenger complains about how the market is overpriced, yet he is one of the highest paid manager in the world?! And for what. It ain't for winning trophies. Times have changed players like Suarez cost £50mill so just pay it. We have the money. If we don't start bringing in world class players like him we won't be top 4, we won't even finish above Liverpool. All these in wenger we trust will soon be eating their words when we've signed nobody and finish 6th maybe then we will have ambition again.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wenger has done a fantastic job at Arsenal, bringing the club through very tough period financially. He has been the best man for the job. However, he has never been good with money, now that there is some, it may be time to say our thanks and move on.

Arsenal insider. the person who said Higuain was already in the uk ready to sign. Arsenal keep the cards close to their chest. Very few people will have have access to both training ground gossip and board room gossip. Arsenals defence was better than ever after the spurs game. I sense a mood change and discontent on supporters sites, media and other outlets. Think the lack of movement in the transfer window is turning into Groundhog Day. I'll tell every one now. if Wenger doesn't strenghten the team, not squad and we have an indifferent start to the season, Wenger will get ten times more abuse than last year. I have a friend who is going mad about Wenger. thinks he is too stubborn. There is already a 50/50 split regarding Wenger. I don't believe this Rumour about boardroom unrest. I do believe however that Puma and Emirates have committed a lot of money in sponsership/Potential sponsorship in Pumas case, to this club, and in return they what Arsenal to start challenging for the league. Also in pumas case, the big name signings increase shirt sales. What do you think Ed. km

Agree0 Disagree0

The interesting thing here is that it seems the only issue disgruntled fans have with Wenger is his reluctant approach to transfer dealings. Is anyone actually disputing that if he had a squad with the depth of say Chelsea or City we wouldn't win the league? I think you need to be careful what you wish for and appreciate just what a special manager Wenger is.

Yabz

Agree0 Disagree0

Good News, let's look at this, first 8 years good success built on a very good squad inherited (best defence every - anywhere)
second 8 years very average at best but had to deal with the financial re-investment by the Club BUT still had a raft of worldclass players - Cesc, RVP and even Nasri and all three of these played in the same team.
Hes just worn out come to the natural end of his term as simple as that

Agree0 Disagree0

If he goes that's GREAT news for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news if this is true. The mans a legend for what his done for us, but he should of gone a few years ago

Agree0 Disagree0

You're a fool, Arsene Wenger knows more about football and the machinations of running a football club than anyone of us on this forum. I've supported Arsenal for 34yrs and there have been very lean times, but i'm still here. There will be transfers, but we need to wait another couple of seasons for a credible challenge.
