Its just not good enough he said he'd replace vermealen, he hasn't, we have no back, there's no way we can mount a title challenge, the window has been a disaster, can't believe i'm saying it but its true.

If the right player isn't available for us what can we do. It can't be easy getting a good defender and telling them they're 3rd4th choice. And the other choice would be Monreal I think ed not flamini. Remember he played there pre season. Poorly lol but he played there

I don't get it, all we needed were another full back and without doubt one more centre half. Going to be very hard playing four competitions with only 3 players that can play centre half and one of them is our second choice right back. Sorry to say it but it really isn't looking good for us

Will be a tough season ox il give u that.

The Times are reporting that Carvalho is available for €30m so what's that £25m? Why are we not getting him seriously does Wenger think he's going to find a world class player for £15m all the time?

Actually, I wouldn't be averse to seeing him in an AFC shirt. He's quite quick and when he's played in the right position, looks fairly good to me. Hostility is based upon a preference for Cavani or Falcao. But would we have been happy to spend £25m on a years service. I would have been disgusted myself. Cavani on the other hand.

Yep I would honestly prefer Abel Hernandez who signed for hull or maybe even borini only maybe though I think welbeck is not much better than son-no-goal. I realy wanted a striker but as they say be careful what u wish 4. I'm not sure but I think I would have preferred the penny pinching porkipines save there money

wtf is going on at arsenal we have needed a cb cdm and a world class striker for years now and we still ain't signing any of them

Better than nothing, which is where today was heading. Massive anti climax though. Makes you laugh when we hear that deals will only be done if it improves the squad. Given we didn't have a striker a deal for me would have improved the squad.

Good move in my opinion. As I said in another post- sano goals or welbeck is a bit of a no brainer.

Can he play DM?

Well he is Far Better then SaNoGoal, but we should be aiming higher, Although be happy if he done a Sturridge

How does signing a squad player show a lack of ambition? In that case City are not ambitious because they signed Lampard. We paid a lot of money of Sanchez, we were never ever guna spend that kind of money again on another striker this window. If you thought we were then you are deluded. This could all be nonsense; Welbeck has been in Colney anyway for international training. Still sounds like the most convincing Arsenal rumour circulating at the moment. And to be honest, Arsenal shouldn't have to worry too much about how well their CF can finish when they have Sanchez, Ramsey, Poldi Cazorla and now Campbell possibly playing behind them. It's more about having a bit of pace and a lot of physicality in the box, as well as a fit back-up while Giroud's out and we have to play two games a week a lot - something we definitely have to do between now and Xmas! I'd sooner have taken Remy, Balotelli or even Eto'o before Welbeck but at least we can say that he's available and affordable.

Kroenke is more to blame than wenger. i'm not happy with what wenger does all the time but the lack passion and ambition at the top is our main problem, the club is run too much like a business. i'd keep wenger, look what happened to utd when fergie went.

we did not have a CF backup since thierry left, RVP was always injured, then we sold him and bought giroud and no cover, and now our luck has run out for that positon. only ourselves to blme.

So the last we heard before missing out on Falcao is that we were in 'very active talks with a striker'

After looking at some of his stats, if it's Bacca, I won't be happy. He's better on the ball and quicker. But, at 27 he's only got a few prime years left and over the last two seasons, he's been statistically identical to Giroud.

Why go for a player of the same level when we can go for a striker a class above of Giroud. He's already shown more than enough time's that he's not up to the task of starting for a top 4 side and without pace he's just not premier league material.

I can only hope I come back home from training to some good news.

ah transfer deadline day. Where every arsenal fan wastes a day constantly refreshing the page, yet we know deep down nothing will happen until at least 8pm. the eds have said there's an outside chance of 2 layers arriving, but aren't sure who or even if they will. So based on this:

My completely unsubstantiated guess would be, calvalho and bernard on loan.

opinions? and who would you think? realistic as possible.

I'm not ruling out a late, expensive double swoop for Khedira and Benzema - £55mil for the pair? Or maybe just Benzema for £40/£45? He's got to be one of the few top quality strikers in a position to move, with the arrival of the likes of James and now Hernandez on Loan. Could be he's the striker we're after?

i thought this season that wenger and the board had turned a tie, with the signings of sanchez, debuchy and ospina, expected a cdm and a proven goalscorer and although its early in the day, unless wenger and he's board deliver reus and carvalho, then i'm afraid that we will not finish in the top 4.and we should be aiming for higher. i think wilshire should have been sold and fabregas bought, a big mistake i feel, as wenger has given chelsea the premiership title.
how can you let remy, falco, get away? we needed a striker before giroud got injured and we certainly need one now, the team cannot play the spanish way.and sagnogoal will never be the answer.i will gladly eat my hat if we sign a striker and cdm of quality but like always our board leave it too late.

CB:
- No Alderwield - off to Saints
- Sokratis - We have bid but need to up the bid if we actually want him
- Potential targets of Vlaar and Nastasic.

CDM:
- Carvalho - Main priority, Need to up the bid again though if we are going to sign him
- Anyone else standing out?

ST:
- Falcao isn't happening 29 this year and at double our top earners wages its just silly
- Bacca is our main priority, need to up the bid again though if this will happen

Basically We are trying to get bargains and it hasn't worked so its now put your money down or miss out?

I get that Wenger has philosophy on wages and I'm glad for that. But look at United spending the money they have, if we want to stay in the top 4 we have to spend.

We need to up the bid for Carvalho & Bacca and get them asap or we're going to fall behind
