Reports saying PSG representative is in London to finalize Sanchez deal; any indication if there are serious talks or what his price-tag would be?

In my opinion if we have to sell Sanchez, PSG is an ideal destination. Abroad, doesn't strengthen a rival, and high transfer fee. Use that fee and go all out for Lemar or someone of equal talent.

I don't believe for one moment that Arsenal will let Sanchez run his contract down, so having PSG and Man City in a bidding war is paramount. Clearly the club's chase for Lemar is to replace Sanchez. With Lacazette and Lemar, we would have replaced Sanchez's influence on the team. I would like to see a top notch midfield player signed in addition, as we can rule our Cazorla due to his seriousand lengthy injury problems.

We do need a quality cm player because the Xhaka Ramsey combination isn't exactly an exciting one for us or a particularly worrying one for opponents.
I know people really like Xhaka and want him to be good enough but I'm not sure he is but I am sure that niether he or Ramsey are consistent premier league top level achievers as we stand so both would need to show a massive improvement on what we've seen from them so far to be considered a top quality premier league pairing.
Relying on one of them to make the step up is a gamble but relying on both making that huge improvement at the same time and consistently showing it over a season?
If we don't do something to address the Cmf situation this summer I think it will be a hot topic all next season.

I couldn't agree more, personally I'd go all out for goretzka from schalke.

If Arsenal are really interested in Lemar then we should stop mucking about and buy him. After the initial flurry and excitement of seemingly solid rumours and the signing of Lacezzette this transfer window is in danger of petering outline normal.

We should be aiming to sign players like Lemar to supplement what we have, not to replace Sanchez. Why can't we have both?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sanchez leaves on deadline day and we don't get Lemar or Mahrez. So basically normal dithering leaves us with with NOTHING. Then, all the people moaning that Mahrez isn't good enough suddenly start whining that we didn't get him either!

Arsene should do something to address the situation 16 mate, if not it will only be a stick to beat him with all next season.
It's such an obvious weak area without Carzola it would be crazy to ignore it because he simply wants the Xhaka Ramsey combination to be good enough, adding a quality Caz replacement would do a lot to improve our chances of improvement next season.

I disagree. Xhaka and Ramsey in this 343 formation has been awesome. We've pretty much won all our games since we've had this set up with those 2 in the heart of it all. Xhaka has looked really good in the pre season matches so far offering stability and good passing awareness and Ramsey is a good box to box player. Personally I'd like us to go for R. Sanchez at Bayern if we were to buy any CM.

Yes agree gunner and d16. It is a problem area. Xhaka is a real worry and Ramsey is very flaky. We need a matuidi and cazorla back.

No disrespect but after losing to Palace which brought about the change in formation who did we play that wasn't in Arsene's words ( on the beach ) ? Spurs and what happened there?
I'm not saying 3 at the back won't make a difference but we shouldn't think the end of last season is a reliable indicator of how things will work in the season ahead.
Remember how we finished the season when Le Coq became our DM?
Using wins and performances against Sunderland Everton and Stoke at the end of last season as a gage might not be the most reliable way to prepare for the challenge ahead.

Hi Ed,
Any truth to us having accepted £10M for el neny? That would be amazing.

Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry, I have not heard of any offer, nor have I heard of Arsenal looking to sell him.}

Elneny is a good player for us. Why on earth would ou be happy if we sold him.

Elneny is class I would be gutted to see him go I'd rather jack and Theo go for 5m each than let him go.

Elneny is a one dimensional player, who should not be considered up to our standard. I don't question his heart or how happy he is to play for us, but he is not more than stop-gap. I would rather we play Bielik or any other youth that might progress. Furthermore, £10M would be twice what we paid, so good business. We can take some of that cash and bring back Éboue.

I think elneny is a great squad player. Doesn't set the world alight just slots in and does the job when needed.

Agree D, like a few of our players, no better than filler.

I like Elneny, and I think he was spanking good value at 5mil. Came from a good team who all play proper football, and he does the job when asked. As nice as it would be to have 30m pound players kept back on the bench just in case they are needed, but it isn't going to happen, and if it did, you just end up with unhappy players causing trouble. Therefore sometimes a players best attribute is that they are happy to be a squad player and step up when required. Elneny fits very nicely into this category.

Every team needs fillers Steve.

Dags i agree but ours seem happy just being that and that's probably the big problem. No ambition or talent to be the main course and take us to the top. Elneny is happy apparently at arsenal and doesn't want to move for first team football. Not exactly chomping at the bit. Not picking on him, there are more just saying. He comes in does a job and doesn't set the world on fire but doesn't thrill either.

Hearing we resigned Wellington silva for 3.5m and immediately sold him for 5m indicating we had a buy back clause.

Steve players ain't pieces of meat. What happens if gnabry didn't want to be bought back? It's not something that is all in arsenals control mate. Stop making up nonsense to beat the club with all the time.
