apparently according to the guardian arsenal have agreed personal terms with higuain on a 4 year deal worth £130,000 a week and hope to sign before pre season tour on July 11th

The times states 115k. but this story is getting warm. every paper is covering it and Argentinian website is covering it say the times. This guy has a polific goalscoring record. km

Agree1 Disagree0

Im not from the UK, bot i've heard that The times and The Guardian usually is pretty reliable, is it true? :)

Agree1 Disagree0

Why before the 11 th of July why not in two or three days bet you we drag our heels and Chelsea or city steal him

Agree2 Disagree1

Before the 11th due to the pre season tour. we would ideally want him on that tour, and also because while chelsea, madrid, city will be sniffing him as soon as the other targets fizzle out.

the list of most clubs should be

Suarez
Lewandowski
Cavani
rooney
tevez
dzeko
Higuain.
jovetic

for me only suarez is more potent in front of goal and is the overall package. but we are not getting him. so higuain will do fine.

Agree2 Disagree1

Wouldn't it be nice for a change if Arsenal adopted a more proactive approach to transfer window P. R. for the benefit of their fans.
If terms have been agreed with the player and a fee with Real, why not tell the fans that, with a proviso that any contract should be finalised on 1/7/13. This would observe the legal niceties of the dates of the transfer window, but still keep their fans in the loop.
Chelsea, Villa and especially Liverpool have already announced signings and precious Barca have told the world and their granny about Neymar.

Agree1 Disagree0

^^ What an personic idea. Yeah, tell the fans "with a proviso".

Because fans are so reasonable and rational when it comes to understanding acquiring players. I'm sure if the deal doesn't go through, the fans will accept they were told certain pre-conditions beforehand.

The club will tell everyone WHEN IT IS DONE. That is the only rational, non-nonsensical way to handle things.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't like something about this higuain deal. I can't help feeling that the idea that a wantaway surplus player and a generous widely reported offer is suspect while there is no official resolution. Arsenal do not like to crow about transfers before they are made and have traditionally run a tight ship on leaks of this sort. My gut feeling and I hope i'm wrong is that Real are floating our deal out there just to see if chelsea, psg or man c want to nip in with 5 million more. They will stall on ancelottis official appointment then stall some more, whilst other suitors tap gonzo himself up and change his mind with 50k a week more wages. I hope i'm wrong or that the other teams just don't want him. this is not a post critical of arsenal, its just well, till he is wearing our kit and shaking hands with wenger on the official website beware!

Agree1 Disagree0

^^^^^ words of wisdom friend pure genius what you have just said.

Agree0 Disagree0

"I don't like something about this higuain deal" quote, excellent logic but fair doos PSG have to release Ancelloti from his contract which they cannot do untill they have finished trawling the world for a replacement

Reason for the hold up with Fellaini is that Standard Liege his former club will get around £3m of the £22m fee, should be sorted out soon

Believable47 Unbelievable39

Says who

Agree2 Disagree0

Everybody knows about the fee to his old club! The guy who wrote this is right.

Agree1 Disagree2

Why should that hold up a deal? Am I missing something?

Also, anyone else think something isn't quite right about his release clause? They only stand to make about 8m on him and 3m of that has to go to his former club? What a strange deal. Surely this will be because Everton were desperate to sign him and he felt they weren't going anywhere? Can't think of any other reason for this.

Agree3 Disagree0

There is no interest from arsenal for Fellaini.

Agree0 Disagree2

Haha the guy who made the second reply was clearly the person who posted the rumour. So easy to notice.

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with metal- I can't see how the 3m would hold up the deal? If Everton have a sell on fee agreed with his former club, then they have to pay it- what's the problem? I have never heard of this holding up a deal before.

I suspect this is speculation or somewhat wishful thinking on an apparent deal, that isn't/hasn't happened. (?)

Agree1 Disagree0

Can we stipulate in his contract that he needs to get a haircut before he makes an appearance?

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Jun 2013 18:11:31
The clause is put in from the players party. He could of refused to extend his contract. When a players representatives insist on a clause it normally means the player has an half an eye on a future move. time will tell. The advantage of this player is he can play defensively or offensively. But all Everton players have a real fighting spirit which we sometimes lack. Another plus signing him, is the fact he is used to the pace and physical side of the EPL. I remember Petit complaining in his first season at AFC. km

Agree1 Disagree0

There is obviously interest from Arsenal in Fellani. All that talk and media hype of Arsenal activating his buy out clause and discussing his personal terms in the media didn't come out of thin air when at least 12 media sources had that story on him. Don't listen to Everton's chairman or manager they are already looking at Fer who is Fellani's replacement, syk news reported that already.

The 3 mill to go to his old club makes things more complicated Everton obviously want all the money and may chose to pay that sell on fee later.

Agree1 Disagree0

The reason the transfer is being held up (if there is a transfer) is that the transfer window hasn't opened yet. Personally I don't think we will sign him. I do rate him but I don't think he is a particularly suitable fit. Who knows though.

Agree0 Disagree1

The transfer is complicated yes, but it is not because the window hasn't opened yet. Players are registered on July 1st they can be signed from before that. Navas, Fernandinho, Carrol. That's why!

suspend betting on Higuain's next club. Arsenal were clear favourites (1/2) and only club in the running.

According to my source who works at the above, the deal will be announced in the next 48 hours!

Only Messi is more prolific in terms of chance conversion than Higuain.

This signing will be a game changer for us!

Gooner11

Believable66 Unbelievable26

It's very confusing, there are also rumours going around that some agent close to him has announced that Higuain is NOT close to joining Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

"works at the above", WTF is that supposed to mean, Arsenal, Higuains next club, an unnamed betting firm?

Willesden Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never sent a rumour in before, as I'm nitk, but have heard we've got him from the father of a friend of mine (aren't they always) who is in itk and he says we've got him for
£22 million and £150,000 pw
Hope so
Flybo

Agree1 Disagree0

If we manage to sign Higuain and then follow up with Fellaini and a goalie - preference would be Mignolet then we really are in with a chance of winning something next season COYG

Agree1 Disagree0

I believe that this signing will not go through untill madrid have a new manager. that mite take some time. it looks good though. I just hope that another team does not come in last minute and put us out of the running.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would anyone click 'unbelievable' on this? You KNOW, by the time the bookies stop taking bets, that it's a certainty.

Agree0 Disagree2

Suspended betting is not a dead cert. bookies stopped betting on the PSG job because Cappello was a dead cert, few days later he says no. the suspended betting just means there have been a lot more than usual betting, bookies aren't about to take a loss now are they

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2013 16:16:55
@ Gooner11 what's the latest news on Fellani?

Agree0 Disagree0

When the bookies start paying out, then it is a cert. Even then they sometimes get things wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2013 18:33:49
Well we can see how reliable your source is in 48 hours!

Agree0 Disagree1

My friend works for the major TV company that shows all the football and they also have a betting division. The Eds took take name off the post hence the suspend betting bit!
I am assured that Higuain has signed a 4 year deal and will be announced as soon as Madrid announce Ancelotti as there new manager. As for Fellani, Wenger is interested but also looking at cheaper alternatives as he doesn't want to pay the £22Million

Arsenal make enquiry for Ruben Garcia

now on tv

Believable32 Unbelievable15

Yeah I read that on ysk.

Change around the letters and you'll see who I'm talking about.

Why have you just gave us a word game --------- Person Above

This site doesn't allow you to put down the names of sites like syk, I'm sure you obviously know what website I'm talking about if you don't look out of your window upwards that is called the. ?

This is typical British media, over-reacting and sending fans into a flurry.

Now we will all hate Wenger if this deal doesn't happen, e ven though the news articles have ZERO substance to their rumours.

What happened on the Wanyama front.

Believable5 Unbelievable35

Heard he is on his way to southampton for about £10 million.

Agree0 Disagree1

Apparently he is close to sighting for soutiampton

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems he is now going to be joining Southampton

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellani happened and Wanyama is going Southampton

Agree0 Disagree0

If the papers aren't printing it, then people on here have got nothing to copy/paste. that's the 'inside info' reality of a rumours site.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dunno, probably similar to what happened on his back?

337

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe he's not the main target (2nd, 3rd choice) so until the main target is a defo no go until further movement

Agree0 Disagree0

Linked with Southampton this am.

Agree0 Disagree0

Going Southampton? yes southampton in a better domestic league but why leave celtic who are league champions and will qualify for champions league for a mid table (at best) prem team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Two words - THEIR LEAGUE

no offence spl fans but come on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton targeting top four next season. Sounds crazy but finished well last season and have signed Lovren with Stoch (the apparent next Arjen Robben) reportedly about to sign. And with one of the promising up and coming new managers in world football (Spoke highly of by Mourinho).

Agree0 Disagree0

Also Banega a possible for Southampton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you just say Southampton targeting top 4?

Ok Ok I know you qualified it by saying 'I know it sounds crazy'.

Go with your instincts mate. If you know it sounds it, it probably is.

RDGun

Agree0 Disagree0

Top 4. I have no words. the shear delusion some people have is shocking. the saints are a great club but a 7th place finish would be considered a wonderful achievement!

Agree0 Disagree0

10 mill to Southampton, your having a laugh, Celtic will not let him go for less than 15 mill, and that's a fact, bidding will start at 10
EPL clubs should just pay the price and stop trying to get players on the cheap

Although I was convinced Cesc would not leave Barca this summer, apparently if Barca sign Mata then he will hand in a transfer request.

Paul

Believable50 Unbelievable37

Mata is a far better player than the vastly overrated Fabregas, who has been found out at Barca. having walked out on us with 3 years remaining and being our captain, I do not want him to return. I would much rather we sign Fellaini, who will give us the passion & height we require.

Agree0 Disagree2

Mata is a like for like at best a version of Andres iniesta.

Cesc is more in between xavi and iniesta. not superior, but in goals he is.

doubt he will leave.

Agree1 Disagree0

Barcelona have a surplus of midfielders at the moment so as much as I would love this to happen, they have no need for matador they will not buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

Good hope they sign Mata then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just for kicks and giggles, would you rather have Cesc or Mata?

Georgian Gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Barcelona have a surplus of midfielders at the moment. So as much as I would love this to happen, they will not buy Mata

3434

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea would be out of there minds to sell mata. but jose has the final say I suppose. But bet cesc feels silly for leaving arsenal where he had it made, loved by everyone to now being booed by his own people tough world. (palace fan)
Btw I have put a tenner on Arsenal winning the league this year good luck.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Mata is a far better player than the vastly overrated Fabregas". So that's why Fabregas still gets ahead of him in the spanish team even when it is in left mid (Uruguay Match) which suits Mata better. And "found out at Barca". I'd hardly call found out when he can't get into the team with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets in midfield. Finally "walked out on us with 3 years remaining and being our captain". He has always had a boyhood dream of playing for Barca and has said that the only team he would join if he left Barca would be Arsenal so he has always been a loyal player. Also he let Wenger keep him under hostage for 2 years. And fellaini height for Arsenal, because we all know how much Arsenal love to kick the ball up the field from defence or love crossing head height.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd have mata over cesc if that we're at the same price

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

This is complete nonsense.

Cesc's future at Barca is far more complicated than challenging for his place.

Very strong rumours coming from Italy suggesting that Arsene Wenger is very interested in bringing the Italian hot prospect Mattia Destro to the emirates

Believable24 Unbelievable54

Seeing as Roma just signed him doubt this is true at all

Agree1 Disagree0

Could mean we aren't getting Higuain if we were even in for him?

PdotY

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Jun 2013 09:24:26
fingers crossed then!

sounds about right, he's on about 100k a week now and they wanted 25m for him, so that's meeting in the middle for the price.

COYG!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumours that he is interested?

What's next, rumours that he is interested in thinking seriously about examining the possibility of looking at the player?
