Arsenal in talks with Huddersfield over a 7 mill move for Jordan Rhodes good young striker

Believable10 Unbelievable55

Now you are talking crap Jordon rhodes?

Agree2 Disagree0

Why is it crap? Jordan Rhodes is one of the most prolific strikers in English football, he will almost certainly play in the Premier League in the near future.

I have it from a very reliable source that we will shortly sign Thomas Muller. imo would be a great signing.
Also I don't believe that Sahin is a done deal, he is not a defensive mid, we have cazorla, jack, ramsey and roscky who all play that role/I believe we will sign a specialist def mid, as that's why we let song go because he WOULDN'T DO THAT JOB.
Its just my opinion, but i trust my source on Muller.

Believable11 Unbelievable56

If muller is true Wenger must be starting a PL German national team.

Agree4 Disagree0

Song was not a specialised dm either!

Agree3 Disagree2

Would love Muller as a 2nd striker behind Giroud but don't think its likely! Here is hoping...

Khal Drogo

Agree1 Disagree0

None of Cazorla,Jack,Ramsey or Rosicky are defensive midfielders my friend, sorry to burst your bubble!

Willesden Gooner

Agree2 Disagree0

Song put in a transfer request that was why he was sold. Also its reported he turned up for training late all the time and his total attitude was unacceptable. You could see last season he couldn't resist getting forward, but when did you ever see him bust a gut to get back when we lost possession. He did get 11 assists last season so he is a class player just not a defensive midfielder. He's a player that can be replaced hopefully M'Villa, Capoue or Wanyama either of these would improve are team from last season.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hilarious.

Guy says we won't get Sahin because we need a DM, then says we are getting Thomas Muller. Tell me, with Santi, Gervinho, Rosicky, Walcott, Diaby, and Poldolsky all able to play as second striker, where and when is Muller going to play?

Agree0 Disagree0

I know this is a rumour site, but don't use it as an excuse to spout crap to get reactions.

sahin is done and dusted will be confirmed in the next two days, bastos will be announce by next monday at the latest, wenger to also make a 10 million pound bid while rennes are holding out to 12.5 million and arsenal also to make a 3m bid for niang

Believable26 Unbelievable26

Your not very clear

monaco gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry the 10 million pound bid was for m'vila if anyone didn't already know

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be very likely the bastos deal. would be a bargin and he has the ability and experience and if the santos story is true another wing back could well be brought in

Arsenal to sign sahin mexes and a striker before deadline day with bendtner arshavin and several otgher fringe player out

Believable20 Unbelievable32

We will not sign mexes as ac already sold their best cb and I'm sure they won't want to sell mexes aswell

Agree3 Disagree0

Actually, Mexes is available for transfer as he's not part of Allegri's (Milan's manager) plans because A- He's useless (slow and past it, not the Mexes of the Roma days) & B- Milan have purchased 2 new CB's this season in Zapata & Acerbi to go with Yepes & Bonera so he's surplus to requirements.

I hope we don't sign Mexes as he'll just be another Squillaci.

Sahin done, one year Loan with no option to buy, The Michel Bastos rumour is right, he is due at London Colney on Thursday for medical and will not take part for Lyon tonight

Believable31 Unbelievable39

I am unsure where you get your "inside" information but Lyon are not even playing a game this evening, at least you're right about one thing he wont be playing tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news about bastos
he is a great player

Agree1 Disagree1

Lyon ain't playing tonight mate

Agree1 Disagree0

Why are we signing Bastos unless it's SUPER cheap?! He is 29 and will be 30 by start of next season. For a club with a rather strict policy of 1 year contracts for +30 year olds this would make no sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are wrong, the michel bastos rumour is he is going to the UAE (Emirates)

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt see any lyon game tonight . total BS

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope so as he is abreast player and would suit arsenal. And would only cost 10 mill tops so why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you seen the sahin news i cant find it anywhere so unless you have his mobile your making it up, Bastos was linked with us back in 2010, he is a useful player and would be a good addition 29 now so good experience, again i cant find it anywhere on arsenal tv or online so is it just a made up rumour?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bastos is a rumour whether he is going to the UAE emirates I don't know but definitely not arsenal as we have enough players already fighting for that position but what I can confirm is Sahin is completed, I've pictures of him at the stadium in full arsenal merchandise from Sunday afternoon

Arsenal will make a move for Everton centre back
Jagielka.

We haved sign Real Madrid midfielder n'shain,(loan)
however he needs to complete a medical to complete
the deal.

Believable29 Unbelievable33

No chance of jagelka, we tried twice before and didn't get him. UTTER RUBBISH RUMOUR

Agree1 Disagree0

Jagielka would be a great signing , commanding and solid, mertesacker is a liability.

Agree1 Disagree1

Im the bloke who wrote the rumour,
You dont think Manu tried more than twice to buy Van Persie?? Jagelka
will be lured buy more money and
champions leauge football,he will be regared as a back up player..

Agree0 Disagree0

"mertesaker is a liability" - have you watched sunderland game ?? as for the rumor - no jagielka, especially as back up. no way mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton fan here, we wont be selling jags this window, have already sold what we need to pay banks, and fund some transfers.
I think Mertesaker played well against sunderland, remember koscelny struggled in his first year.

ed, is there any chance of wenger trying to sign adam johnson?

after liverpool, spuds and sunderland registered their interest he has plenty of options but surely we can beat them all

bs18 {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

Believable7 Unbelievable38

Apparently he is going to Sunderland. Good signing for them.

Billybob

Agree2 Disagree0

A good signing for Sunderland, but why on earth would we be interested in him? We need to be looking at bigger and better signings, more to the likes of Cazorla and Podolski please. Not a City reject.

Hes a die hard sunderland fan, and he knowes he would be guarenteed 1st team so nah, we dont need him anyway

Hi guys
1st time I have posted but been reading for ages.
I have heard from a friend very close to the situation that chelsea r giving up on Moses due to wigan over valuing him.
The reason for this is they feel that they could get walcott in January and depending on form it could be a straight swap for sturridge as he is falling down the pecking order with bertrand starting ahead of him.
I feel not a bad deal. If theo don't want to be there get rid.

Croydon Gunner

Believable12 Unbelievable40

Never understood the interest in Sturridge. I personally don't rate him. I don't think Sturridge is worth anywhere near £15m, which I suspectmight be the fee for Walcott in Jan, if he were to leave.
I think that there are better players out there than Sturridge for the money.
Not saying I disbelieve what you have put, just my tuppence worth.

Kermit79

Agree2 Disagree1

Bertrand I thought played left back or in a less offensive position so I don't really see where he fits in; however, I don't feel Sturridge would provide any improvement in quality or potential to me he's a championship player whereas walcott is a super sub. Now somebody on this mentioned yarmolenko ....that would be a coup.

Agree2 Disagree0

Walcott is in the last year of his contract which means he can sign a pre contract in January so doubt he'd command much of a fee

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott can only sign a pre contract to a club outside england so if chelsea were to bid for him in january they would still have to pay 10mil plus. Not that i want him to leave, like the other person said he is a super sub a good impact player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not? nasri went for £25 million in the jan transfer window. Sturridge would be a good signing all he wants to do is play, i agre with him not being worth £15 mil, adam johnson for 10 mil would be a right bargin. and dude, bertrand is a left back but has been playing left and right wing for chelsea since he broke through seen as they have cashley so read ya facts before ya biiitch

Joey

Agree0 Disagree1

Actually Joey Nasri went in the summer transfer window.

We signed Arshavin in the January window for £15m though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Joey? Read you own facts? Nasri signed for man city in August last year not January?
I hope we keep theo he is really getting better every season. And has upped his shot and cross game loads. He is getting a more rounded player and I hope we keep him. He provides something different that one else in the prem can with his pace. Just needs to learn more tricks to get around players though

Ben gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt say he could sign a pre contract with Chelsea, I should of been clearer, the fact he can sign a pre contract to any non English team takes his value right down as there would be clubs all over Europe offering. Thus reducing arsenals bargaining power.

Agree0 Disagree0

sahin deal agreed, i know this has been done to death but agent has said a deal has been agreed.

delay was that wenger wanted to include an option to buy him at the end of the loan if it was successful, mourinho wouldnt allow it as he still wants him at madrid in the future.

pure loan deal has been agreed and will be announced shortly

wenger will submit a bid for niang, ac milan have made a loan bid with view to permanent transfer of £2.4m, but caen want £3.2m, could be a very smart signing

bs18

Believable17 Unbelievable17

I saw Niang play for one of the French youth sides, thought he quite clumsy, impressive physically but not technically. Don't see him as being a vital signing for us.

Stezza.

Agree1 Disagree0

Adds an interesting dimension to our striker lineup, though. Always nice to have an eager young striker to try to make a difference in close games with reactive sides. Also means not p***ing off Podolski and Giroud by buying Llorente to make them irrelevant.

Players In:
Sahin - Season Long Loan with a view to a purchase
M'Villa - Last day of the season deal £15.7m. He wants to leave and has expressed an interest in going.
Berbatov - Part of Van Persie Agreement £5mil

Players Out:
Squillaci - Bolton £2mil
Bendtner - QPR Season Long Loan
Arsharvin - Zenit €10million

Hughesy

Believable15 Unbelievable47

Would like them in, think Berbatov could really do the business for Arsenal.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hope the berbatov bits right, although he is lazy hes a proven goalscorer and could provide us with the goals well miss now RVP's gone

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatov would get just as many games for us as he did for united.

Agree1 Disagree1

Berbatov is looking to get playing time. I don't see him coming to a club with so many newly signed strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we didn't have the best start to the season after Swansea put 5 past us, but even us lowly Rssss wouldn't take Bentdner....he's worse than Dj Campbell.

Agree0 Disagree1

Bendtner wants to join a champions league club which is why we haven't got rid of him already, i've been told that he is waitinf for ac milan to make a formal bid as wenger doesnt want mexes because of his age

Agree0 Disagree0

If Berbatov was part of the agreement with Van Persie why is he not already an Arsenal player?

we are looking at bastos for the left back slot can also double up as a left winger i reckon he may replace arsha who is going back to zenit (we hope)

kcider

Believable15 Unbelievable25

Please no. bastos is 29 yrs old and would only be useful for a year or two before he begins to lose his pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's too similar to Santos and Vermaelen is already a backup left back. I see a more direct replacement for Arshavin and Walcott, like Yarmolenko or Konoplyanka.

Usually just a reader of other fans post's but feel the news i heard today is worth sharing with fellow gooners. Arsenal this transfer window will sign Nigel de jong from city for around 8 mil. Moses will replace walcott who will sign for chelsea and the big name signing will be Benzema. All this info is from a reliable source within the arsenal website.↲

popcorn17

Believable14 Unbelievable54

You had me until you said Benzema, Honestly why would he leave RM who won the leahue and could realistically win the CL for Arsenal who if we are Honest finishing top 3 would be a job well done, and dont tell me its to work with Wenger players are about money now days nothing else especially young ones.

According to my sauce (Heinz BBQ, mind), De Jong is going to Inter Milan, Moses to Chelski and Benzema - nowhere. Good try though.

South East Gooner

Agree3 Disagree1

Benzema
Podolski Cazorla Moses
Arteta Wilshere
Gibbs Verm Kos Sagna

Sick!

Agree0 Disagree1

See, now this is the sort of rumour I like reading, regardless of whether it's true or not! Would much rather read this than rumours of Bastos or Mexes!

Agree1 Disagree0

De jong is free next summer and is currently on 100k per week.
moses looks more like joining chelsea as they have already bid for him, theo seems fine right now.
benzema is currently on a rape charge.

c'mon, do better than that or get some brains

Agree0 Disagree1

I would love to believe the Benzema bit, but cannot see a starting member of the Real team, who has finally got his shooting boots on, under the management of Mourinho coming in. Cost £30M +, wages etc. (I appreciate that he has let Sahin come on loan, but not on a permanent.)
I can, however, believe the de Jong part. Let's not forget that Arsene put up with Vieira's disciplinary record. The player would be a cost effective signing, something Wenger also likes.
Moses, I can't see it. I personally don't think he sets the world alight. I would be surprised, but this would give an explanation as to why Chelsea have not already signed Moses, but as I said I would be surprised/shocked.

Kermit79

Agree1 Disagree0

Whatever

Agree0 Disagree0

It's proving hard enough to get Sahin on loan from Real and now we are buying Benzema? Would love it but not a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nigel de Jong “ can™t really see that happening. There had been some reports not too long ago about him not liking the bench too much but I™d be very surprised if this happened.

Walcott out, Moses in? Really¦really??

Arsenal will NOT sign Benzema; valued at around £35mil, that is just nuts and feel pretty confident in saying that it WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

Wenger has said 2 more signings, maybe. Sky Sports has again linked us with Cheikh M™Bengue and the on again off again signing of Sahin is on again.

Also, not mentioned in your post but “ M™Vila will not be joining “ my feeling is that he will stay in France with speculation of a move in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hha Benzema, made my afternoon in work reading this.

De Jong would actually be a good signing i think , give arsenal that steel they miss for tough away games, but wages would be a problem.

Sahin deal hopefully will go through but we want him perm, mourinho wants him back!

Arsenal should go for Jelavic, would score 20+ goals for us

Arsenal Edge Closer to Completing £15.7m Deal to Sign Rennes Midfielder Yann M™Vila

dan G4L

Believable24 Unbelievable39

21 Aug 2012 10:31:10
The Sahin deal will be concluded this week. No other deals will be progressed until we sell. This is to protect the income fees of the out going players. We are already at our squad limit (and the purchasing clubs and players agents know this (obviously!)) So any of the deals for Biglia, Sakho and/or M'Bengue will depend on either Chamakh, Arshavin, and/or Park leaving.

Arshavin and his agent are in St. Petersburg this week structuring the deal. So this could be concluded sooner rather than later. Expect us to react quickly in naming a new signing. I expect Biglia to follow his departure.

Chamakh will be loaned out if no permanent deal can be concluded by the weekend. We will then do some sort of last minute deal to replace his place in the squad. Sahko or M'Bengue.

I know of nothing happening with Park so could be stuck with him as with Squillaci, although Squillaci will not be named in the EPL squad for this season. This allows us to sign Sahin!

If Park does leave then we are in a strong position to sign another striker. Matias Suarez, Adrian Lopez or Loic Remy being the likeliest of the candidates and all in and around the £12m mark. Suarez is the most likely candidate but this is only if all the jigsaw pieces fall into place and the failure to secure his move due to a failed medical is incorrect. It is just as likely in my opinion that Park stays and acts as cover.

Song leaving gives a squad place to Lansbury or Bendtner unless we sign an over 21 year old home grown player (highly unlikely!) I don't know of any that we have been properly linked with all Silly Season! Adam Johnson is an outside bet, but why? What extra does he give us?

Bendtner should leave (where is only known to himself and his agent. Just like his talent and choice of underwear!) Again he is classed as a home grown player and no squad place is going to be made available to him or free one up for a non-home grown recruit).

All in all still a lot that could/can/will happen this window but selling/loaning players is are only possible option if we are to recruit anyone else.

The only other outside bet is for a goalkeeper. I really don't think we are in for anyone. Fabianski sounded convincing saying he would challenge Szczesny this season, shame because Cesar would have been an excellent addition and mentor to Wojciech! His wage demands though were stupid! £80k per week for a back up is prohibitive and we are not going to sign someone to compete 50/50 with our number one, so that rules out Lloris! All the other keepers we have been linked with have completed their summer moves!

Long, I know, but I rarely add my opinions or share my info/knowledge. But here they are for your comments!

CrossRoss

Believable28 Unbelievable26

Sounded believable until u mentioned M.Suarez. Pretty sure he is about to have a knee operation and out for months.

Agree3 Disagree0

Remy would cost closer to the 20m mark

Agree1 Disagree0

My sources tell me...

Never mind.

Agree1 Disagree1

Read the bit about jigsaws and medical? I see selective reading ... Suarez is a serious candidate IF HE IS FIT FOR PURPOSE! If he does have to have the said knee operation then don't expect us to bid! He saw the specialist earlier this month. If he was going to have an operation I think that would have happened by now. But I'm not a medical professional!

Hi crossross
I beleive that Raz/Metal Gooner wanted you to do a review on the current youth prospect's if that's okay, I'd like you to do one to as you seem to have genuine knowledge on youth prospects thanks and thanks for your insight on this transfer window.

Geez some people are just so thick. Ready to slate at the drop of a dime.
Anyways thanks for the info CrossRoss, you always post a good read.
Ezdee

Agree0 Disagree0

How the hell can you deterime if he is "informed", unless you also claim to have special knowledge. The only thing you are really saying is that he says things you agree with. Doesn't mean it isn't total made up BS though.

Anyway, the issue of squad-size is irrelevant. We can sign whoever we want, we can only REGISTER a certain number of players. We can sign three more players and leave squiallaci, Djourou, and Park unregistered and playing in the reserves only if we want to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for those who offered the kind words.

Frankly to the Person's who didn't I couldn't give one if you believe or care not for your negativity ... AAA's bore me!

However. I did post a review the day Metal asked me ... it should be in the archives somewhere!

Sahin should sign today and Arshavin should be done by Friday.

With Santos getting himself in trouble the left back might be more of a priority but only if he doesn't plead guilty! Only goes to jail if it goes to Crown Court!

Biglia deal should be progressing now we have some positive movement with Arshavin!

Still no news on Bendtner so Lansbury could miss out ... which is a huge disappointment! Still 9 more days though!

Don't forget guys, all clubs need a tea boy, inc barca

Agree0 Disagree0

Squillaci to link up with ex-Arsenal teamates Song and Fabs. Barca have grown tired with just hoofing the ball upfield and hoping to hit Messi, they figured with all those Arsenal players they could just play the ball from defence through the midfield up to the forwards, Squid is the final piece in the jigsaw. Mark my words Barca will play a style of football this season where they will just pass-to-death every team they come up against whilst also dancing in the style of the death scene from Swan Lake.

On good authority, that AW highly rates squelch, and will only allow him to leave if pique comes the other way. :)

Podoloski
Giroud
Cazorla
Sahin
M'Bengui

Has any manager ever signed only left-footed players in the summer and 5 at that?

Forget French or English; A left-footed spine is the way forward. Arsene Knows.

Cazorla is ambidextrous, but when taking corners or set-pieces he will use his right foot.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well, Cazorla is right footed actually but almost just as good with his left, so this post is irrelevant

Agree1 Disagree0

Cazorla is entirely ambidextrous. He was taking corners with his right on Saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cazorla is not left footed, he is both footed. but he clearly favours/is stronger with his right as that was the foot he was taking corners with on Saturday!
Tim Taylor

Agree0 Disagree0

Cazorla is right footed naturally, but he can use both feet equally well.

Ted

Agree1 Disagree0

Santi may be ambidextrous but what you guys are groping for, in describing equally adept with either foot, is 'ambipedal' ...that is all

Agree0 Disagree0

The advantage of having left footed players in a right mans world is the angle and perception. ambidextrous even better.

1/10 is left handed/footed

1/100 is ambidextrous.

you can always train to use both feet but what comes naturally cannot be beaten.

I am ambidextrous it just helps you to fit in without realising...i am also predominantly left handed and footed but in a right mans world its the angle and perception.

play a right handed guitar, my pc mouse is on the right hand side, i play cricket with my right and left, play football with my left, bandminton with both hands, and soo on...against those who are on the same level as me, i will blow them out of the water, for those who are superior to me will always say...you have good vision or whatever...

they say only 8% of the footballers are left footed and of the 8% only 4% are famous....we all know the most famous one...lionel messi.

still i feel wenger perhaps has a creative dream...if that is the way it could work...but just because your ambi or left footed doesnt mean we will win every game. we have to show up and fight to win and we could well end up doing wonders...

remember bergkamp was a genius but henry was a wonder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Corzorla is right footed! That just shows how little you know about him.

I have fingers crossed:

Sakho - move TV5 to DM with Kos & Sakho behind him?
Mexes - seems to much talk of this not to happen.
Sahin - Looks nailed on to me!
Walcott will be sold in Jan if he does not sign!

Mong Out!

Believable10 Unbelievable28

Move TV5 to DM with Kos and Sakho at CB would be great, I'd love to see that, but doubt it :(

i know its always nice to get new signings but if 100% honest idk why we're getting sahin hes not at all the player we need the type of player sahin is is actually one of our strongest areas in the team, ramsey wilshere rosicky diaby chamberlain arteta even cazorla all play similarly to sahin, we need a more combative dcm like m'bila whos strong and defensive minded. i also think we need and will prob get a striker with llorente looking most likely however i have an annoying sneaky suspicion spurs are the london club interested. i know we are like almost guaranteed to sign sahin i just dont think hes the right player for us to be adding to our squad atm

greg

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Do you actually know what kind of player sahin is? I have watched him allot recently, full games of his actions, his off the ball work is very good and surprisingly his defences abilities are next to no other. he is strong tackler, has awesome long ball control.

him alongside arteta, and potentially wilshere (next season) would be the two best dpl in the league by far. their passing and tempo is outstanding.. they speed the game up slow it down. so much better than what we have in the likes of diaby and ramsey who just slow down the play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Greg, Sahin deal is on the cards because of Jack. Wenger has basically made that pretty clear. He has a choice, he can either not sign anyone and hope that Jack comes back, or he can sign someone. If we sign someone, the only problem is the squad is full, the benefit is we have real top talent to challenge on 4 fronts, have amazing depth, and this means Jack can ease himself back into competitive football with no pressure such as the pressure Rambo was under last season. There will be no void, as such.

Or, we don't sign him, risk losing a few mids to injury as usual, and then people will be in uproar because we didn't plan for something we knew could happen.

The Sahin deal has nothing to do with Song. This is about Jack. Santi was about Cesc and Nasri. Sahin about Jack. A new DM will either be bought, or one of ours will step up, or we will see a CB play there and we will bring in a new CB, although that's the most unlikely.

I don't know how or why people think Llorente is likely, I will be shocked if we sign him. He's 26 I think , a total late bloomer, is a slower but maybe more technical version of Giroud and unnecessary. If we're going to fork out for him, we could buy someone much faster and capable of making an impact, e.g. Lewandowski, e.g. Doumbia, e.g. Damiao.

I am worried about the M'Vila deal. However, we are lucky because there are 3 decent DMs available who we're looking at, not just 1. I am sure we will see a signing.

My instincts suggest:

Out: Walcott, Bendtner, Park, Squilacci, Arshavin & Djourou.

In: Sahin, M'Vila & Mexes

And who cares about your instincts? either post a rumor if you have a reliable source or STFU and dont waste space here

See the situation with David Silva at Man City, hes demanding 200k p/w?

This is when you respect and are glad we have a sensible wage cap at the club, these players dont give two sh**s about the club there at, just there paycheck, if you have 1 player on 200k p/w , pretty soon they'll all be wanting it.

The premier league really needs to input wage capping on clubs before it really does go overboard and out of control if its not already.

Believable26 Unbelievable3

Any sauce on the Silva story? I remember De Jong kicking up a racket too.
Disagree that you think our wage structure is our strength--we lose players instead (e.g. Nasri RvP etc.).
Where I do agree with you is the necessity for a wage cap. Unfortunately until it also applies to Lol Liga, Russian Premier league, etc. then we'll just have an inferior English league

Agree1 Disagree0

Well not really mate. Silva is like the best MAN CITY player atm (its either him or aguero) and he is actually earling LESS than the kinds of tevez, aguero, nasri etc. which are all on 200. So anyone in this position would be like WTF?

Agree2 Disagree0

I love American football as well as football and Arsenal, and the great thing about our American cousins is that they have a salary cap on wages, so teams like the Dallas Cowboys (the Man U of American Football) can't go out and buy a championship. There is a level playing field for all clubs.

Furthermore, it means all teams have relevancy. No one team dominates for large periods, even crap teams have their chance to win the big prize. Unlike the premiership where the best a Stoke fan could ever really hope for is a top ten finish.

Top players want to earn top money, but unless there is a limit on that, only the richest clubs can accommodate such stars, and the those players themselves will become spoilt, only going to clubs that meet their crazy demands.

Mo Jo

Agree0 Disagree0

Salary cap wont work in football. Its always about money, there are rarely any player for player trades, which is the concept of a structured salary.

Silva wants 200k? yea well he should get it, if nasri is on 180, aguero on 200, yaya toure on 250 and tevez on 225, not to forget dzeko on 170 and adebayor on 170 or roque santa cruz on 140, adam johnson on 80 or 90...

Theres no problem paying big money if you make big money...this is ok for barcelona, and madrid and united. they have big stadiums, big commercial deals and big profits.

So they can have quite a few players from 100k to 250k

difference is barca got 21 players of which 18 of them range from world class to superb and the others are just fillers who earn under 100K....thats you song..

Man utd pay rooney and rvp over 200k but none of their other players earn over 140k...its only vidic who makes 130k a week if im not mistaken and then it filters down.

city have dug a massive hole...for a small stadium club, same with chelsea and now they are trying to build a winning culture to keep players behind...but when you build with mercenaries you die with them too...

As wenger said this cant last forever...and when the time comes, it will be arsenal who will lead the way...possibly spurs followig...and everyone else trying to balance their books.

That is the most sensible post I've ever read on here. It's nuts what's happening with players wages, I don't care how good they are.

ed what's your thoughts on us signing sahin and adrian (the one frome atletico madrid) {Ed002's Note - Fazeli has confirmed that subject to the completion of the paperwork Sahin will move to Arsenal with them paying all of his wages (2.8M euro) plus they will pay a fee to Real Madrid for the loan. There is no option to buy at the end of the loan. Liverpool, Besiktas and Galatasaray also put bids on the table but the player's preference was always Arsenal. There has been interest in Adrian Lopez but it is unclear if he is open to a move to London.}

sahin to be confirmed tomorow, bentdner deal looks a little more unlikely as cassano is to be swapped with pazzini of inter. walcott to be sold to inter for 16m due to his high wage demands. affelay will not be replacement as he only wanted to play with van persie. look for them to brng in yarmolenko as an addition not a replacement. gervinho or ox to move out right. as for mvilla and biglia rumours, those are out of question as biglia will be going to southampton and mvilla hasnt been reported to be in talks with arsenal let alone a bid made for him. jovetic is a big posibility at the moment, look for a bendtner + chamakh swap for him. arshavin to return to zenit on loan. thats all i got, you heard it here first

where do people come up with this crap?
