Seems Malaga are in financial trouble, (thats Malaga fc, not Malaga gooner) they have been banned from European football for 12 months and fined 250k. They need money fast.

I reckon AW should let Santi pick their best 2 players and buy them as a christmas present, would'nt that be nice.

Don't watch a lot of Spanish football, apart from RM & Barca, does anyone know if they have any players to suit us?

Well everyone wants isco....why shouldnt we? their left back/midfield ignacio monreal is a good defender and solid defensively rather than flashy.

The two best players that i would choose from malaga would have to be isco and toulalan

Agree0 Disagree0

They have a player named Isco. 22 year old Spanish cm. very talented. much like cazorla himself. would be a great addition to squad and would certainly push arteta and co.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is the main man at Malaga and would be an exceptional catch for arsenal if we had the balls to go for him. Barcelona and Madrid have an eye on him, and Dortmund might go for him if someone big goes in for Goetze - but we could have a chance out of all the English clubs atleast, to get Isco.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco.

and then potentially toulalan or monreal

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is a perfect buy

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is decent

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is 19

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is top quality

Agree0 Disagree0

So what all these post mean... we cant afford Isco basically right? ^_^

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco and he has a buy out clause of 21mil euros=18mil pounds...and get toulalan as a stop gap and relieve arteta of his duties

Agree0 Disagree0

Toulalan is injured at the moment till mid January so I can't see him moving. I'd love to see Isco or Monreal though!

I defo think we should buy Zaha,Wanama and possibly Ogbona.

Place will be promted but they will struggle to stay up ,Muary will not be able to score 15plus goals a season in the prem and Zaha's much better then Palace.

Ogbona looks the real deal and is dirt cheap 10/12 mill.

Believable1 Unbelievable21

Zaha's much better than Palace? Zaha's an graduate of the Palace academy and he's going nowhere in January. U have no idea what you're talking about.

I suggest people read the "worst team of the ligue 1" list. How many of you wanted Wenger's head when we didn't sign the following players that were a "perfect fit"....

Gregory van der Wiel
Yann M'Vila
Marvin Martin
Momo Sissoko
Loic Remy

Trust the manager, he has been doing this for a LONG time...

Agree, however if they did a worst XI Prem team our 2 'starters' of Gervinho and Ramsey would surley b there, and our manager keeps playing them.

Apparently Wenger is looking to bring in a striker regardless of Walcotts contract situation. Huntelaar and Ba seem to be the obvious names being linked by the press.

Would either of them take us to the next level? Would they score 20+ league goals for the foreseeable future?
We dont know the answer, but what we do know is that they would cost less than 10m.

That would be exellent business if you are a ( no disrespect) Villa or a cash strapped Everton.
We should be past the bargain phase, we have those in abundance.

If its true that we are after another forward then a high quality one in his prime is needed. One in the class higher than what we normally go for, someone better than Giroud, Chamakh, Park and Bedtner. Im not saying they are bad players but we can aim higher, Edinson Cavani has to move some time or another and if we dont act soon players of his calibre don't always have nowhere to go. Falcao is the big fish the big spending clubs are after, with his 40m price tag is there no reason we cant get Cavani for 30m?

If we were ever going to start paying 30m for a player then Cavani should be the start. He'll bag 25 goals without slowing our game down and has the ability to hold the ball up top really well.

All the top clubs have a top marksmen, some clubs have two or three. Whe have what they would consider as their back up strikers. We along with Juventus need a monster number 9, why cant it be us who tempt Cavani out of Napoli

Believable34 Unbelievable9

Paying £30m for a player also does not guarantee they will score 20+ goals, just look what happened to Torres and Carroll. Ba has proven he can dominate teams in the premier league and score 20+ goals a season so for me he is the best option.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was Giroud, I would be insulted being put in the same bracket as Chamack, Park and Bendtner as they are all awful. Giroud has the potential given the right service to score 10-15 goals a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with your thinking completely. Whether or not its cavani, we must get out of the bargain basement bin. Not saying we cant still shop there, but until arsenal buys a 30m plus player I will not be convinced of the genuine aspirations of this clubs ownership.

I think that our current mentality is a contributing factor (along with the wage structure) of our recent exodus of star players and their replacement with good players of a lesser standard. E.g,

K. Toure = TV15, Kos, Merts
Adebayor* -> Chamakh/Giroud/Park
Clichy -> Santos
Van Persie -> Podolski
Fabreagas -> Arteta
Nasri = Santi (santi was not bargain basement, nasri was fantastic in his last season)
Song -> Not replaced, no squad member has been able to fill his role
Walcott -> ?
Sanga -> Jenks

* As much as people hate him now, we have never replaced him with better CF to date.

Agree0 Disagree0

More importantly Cavani is a Christian and a regular church goer so at least we would not have to worry about him constantly falling out of Boujis or getting involved in police chases.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point, But AC milans ace El sharaawy may come, I believe.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have no one from Uruguay to tempt him, we'd rely solely on cash and unless something in Arsenal changed (which I guess would happen if we spent 30m on a player) we wouldn't be able to. I mean, Liverpool have a few players from Uruguay in the squad. I'm sure players he enjoys playing with, like Suarez who he plays with internationally.

And, I mean, Liverpool have been known to spend upwards around 30m on strikers.

Notwithstanding another defiant message from Arsene Wenger, Arsenal are reportedly odds on certain to spend in January, with deals close for Zaha, Downing and Shaw.

Wenger is determined to avoid spending big on big known names and instead, will focus on players that will fit in with his style of football and on younger players.

Believable8 Unbelievable29

If this is what he's going for why bother. Just what we need more below average players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everybody think we are signing Downing, he's terrible and most likely he's going back to boro...

Agree0 Disagree0

If Wenger signs Downing then he should be sacked immediately as he would have lost the plot
Chess

Agree0 Disagree0

Please do not sign Downing - that would signal the end!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Downing is not a target.

And you have been told many times before, Shaw is not for sale! So, everything considered, a pretty rubbish post.
Why don't you start to develop your own players? Wenger is always on about how he gives young players a chance, if that is so why does he always have to come hunting through Saints academy? Shaw is 17, and now playing regularly in the Premiership. Whatever Wenger claims, that would not be the case at Arsenal so why should he move in January? And, without any malice, I would judge that Wenger will be gone at the end of this season unless Arsenal manage to win something substantial by the summer, and that looks unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaw isn't for sale?

Like Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott weren't for sale? ;)

We will sign Shaw and we still haven't finished paying for the Ox yet.

Easy terms over 3 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaw is not for sale! Saints are no longer your feeder club. Walcott was sold because the club were in dire financial difficulty, that is no longer the case with new ownership. OC was sold because he insisted on leaving and was advised to do and was convinced he could get Premiership football quicker by so doing (can't keep a player in those circumstances.)

Why would Shaw leave Saints to sit on a bench or "be developed" by Wenger? Walcott is about to leave and OC plays now and again, Shaw is now playing every week in the Premiership at Saints. Don't know how many players Arsenal have out on loan but Chelsea have 20! Would Shaw like to be such a player (Bale almost was at Spurs). No, he will stay at Saints, certainly until the summer, and then it will be a case of how he sees Saints moving forward over the next few years.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you believe that about OC, you're a mug!

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaw will leave you for Arsenal - he wants to leave Soton - and just like the Walcott and OC deals, you will not get the whole fee up front

Agree0 Disagree0

Drop downing off that list and stick keisuke honda in there and I would be more than happy with our transfers if we can ship a few out aswell it would be a bonus!
