Wenger has just come out and said that the giroud deal is 90% done. He also said that he will integrate well which is what I have been saying for a while , I even said it I a post earlier on today. Giroud will complete our attack it is almost completely axiomatic . With the predicted signings coming we are.bound to buy a trophy .
P.s
Sorry if I've come across as pedantic and bigoted lately some of my posts have been stupid and unnecessary.

Arsenal cheif executive Gazidis has spoken to Ac milan over possible signing of Ibrahimavic deal could reach £25m.
Clubs are to meet with player in the next 48hrs, keep eye on Colney London

Believable14 Unbelievable71

Hope not over rated

Agree0 Disagree0

........good one...

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed don't need him.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is quality but lots of baggage
Not sure we need him but he is a winner
We need quality team players as the sum of the team is greater than the individuals
SY4

Agree0 Disagree0

Ibrahimovic is on holiday, if your going to make a dodgy rumour, at least make it believable.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP, Poldi, Giroud, and Ibra? Nope.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure! Just seen a private jet land on the Emirates roof with Messi & Ronaldo on board.......

Agree0 Disagree0

Colney London? Where's that then? Near Keynes Milton? Leads me to doubt the veracity of the "rumour" (if that's what it is). Anyway Ibrahimovich is the last thing we need. Over-rated, egocentric and probably has absurd wage demands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ibra said before, but he will never play for arsenal because they wanted him to tryout first... We Don't Want an egomamiac like him... Biggest ego in Football

Scooby dooby k

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha! I highly doubt it but if he does leave it'll be to City as a swap deal for Tevez and a certain sum of money. But didn't Ibra say to the press recently that he has no desire to leave?
Corbs Adelaide Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsene wenger is a big fan of ibrahimavic and tried to sign him when he played for Malmo, but ibrahimovic didnt like the idea of having to have a trial. however i dont think wenger would look to sign him now, mainly due to his attitude and at times laziness and also because we have podolski, RVP and now it seems Giroud is almost a certainty. i do however believe that there is a possibility of Mesut Ozil joining from Madrid. its definitely an exciting summmer for Arsenal fans!
Brad

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather Ballotel than him,he is lazy player

Agree0 Disagree0

God i hope not !

Agree0 Disagree0

No way will he come in EEEEEGGGGGGGGOOOOO maniac.

not good enough anyway
Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe this one I'm afraid. You guys forgot how he panged out on Arsenal before Champs League, talking about our players needing to leave etc...

Agree0 Disagree0

Lay off big Zlatan. Hes won the league with 9/10 seasons hes played. Gotta be good at something.

Northern Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

This is ridiculous. why on earth would wenger move for yet another striker, least of all someone who is egocentric. don't get me wrong ibra is a fantastic player, but after some of the comments he's made about arsenal why would we even consider him. besides i don't think his style would fit in with arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bs we could of got him ages ago but arsen wanted him on trial and didnt want to give him the number 9 shirt, so why should he come now, before we release any strikers or attacking players, we have rvp, nicky, podolski, theo, vela, park, cham, arshavin, and the ox with giroud coming in. Why would we need any more forward thinking players

Agree0 Disagree0

Lazy lazy lazy footballer. You can't get away with not doing your bit when the team doesn't have the ball in the epl- he'd score goals but we'd also suffer defensively with him in the team. Plus any wages would be through the roof! Terrible rumour!

Aussie Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

It is amazing how english people can rate Zlatan so bad. He is one of the best players out there and has been for a number of years and he would (no matter what you say) go directly in to the starting line up of the English national team.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2012 21:04:34
do you have any idea how much Zlatan earns at Milan, there is no way Arsenal would match his wages

from source at the club arteta cant settle in london and wants to go home to spain

Believable11 Unbelievable67

BS surely he would prefer to go back to Everton?

Agree0 Disagree0

Never true, Arteta has lived in the UK for years now, moving to London was hardly a big move. He will be at the heart of our midfield next year for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's only been in england for how long now?

Agree0 Disagree0

They day I hear a Spaniard cannot settle in London is the day I rejoice. I don't see myself rejoicing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Enjoy Thursday football, whether you're from North London or Liverpool...

US Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

A such bs!
Jersey Boi

Agree0 Disagree0

What a stupid post with amount of years he's spent at Rangers, Everton and now us do your history before making things up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil would be a great signing but madrid want 36 mil for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Jealous mong.

Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Crap !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Arteta is actually negotiating an improved deal,as he took a large wage cut to join us last year.
Braintreegooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep taking the pills they will help you

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, good one. Could cope with the cosmopolitan buzz of Glasgow and Merseyside, but just can't settle in the social and cultural backwater that is London. If you're going to make stuff up, at least make it plausible.

Agree0 Disagree0

London obviously isn't as cosmopolitan as Liverpool (2006 European City of Culture) and Glasgow (inventors of the Glasgow Kiss)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol ive heard him say with his mouth he feels more comfortable in england than in spain

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha seriously he did an interview last season saying he tried to play for England squad but the FA wouldn't let him. Stick to your own page spud.

Agree0 Disagree0

What rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid boy pike

Ashman

Agree0 Disagree0

This is without doubt the most stupid thing posted on this site in a while...the man took a pay cut to come to the club and he has been playing in the UK for years! Spuds troll!

Aussie Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Do NOT be such a FOOL...Arteta has lived in the UK for 8 years now, so why? oh Why? would he suddenly want to leave when he is playing for a superior club (after Everton) playing in the Cl and is well thought of by the fans. DURRRHHHH!

this is what i expect to happen before july 1st. padolski and giround done. holtby will be next and when suarez sells his house he will move to the emirates.

in
m.suarez-12mil
l.padolski-10mil
giround-12mil
m'villa-15mil
l.holtby-5mil

Believable22 Unbelievable47

If you can sign Lewis Holtby for 5m, want to be my accountant?!

D

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will be a bit top heavy with forward players. No?

Agree0 Disagree0

You cant even spell podolski, lol. Suarez doesnt get a work permit and Holtby not good enough. Stop with this b****cks!!

Agree0 Disagree0

So the only reason a multi million pound footballer isnt moving arsenal is that he cant sell his house? What is he in a chain? What a load of cosh. He could by a 5mill house in london tommorow and leave his other empty and not notice a penny loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

Javier Perez fanboy?

Agree0 Disagree0

So wenger is going to sign all these players and not sign a cover fullback or a cover gk. dont be so stupid

VP.10

Agree0 Disagree0

I just wet my bed reading the 4th comment. Genius!

Agree0 Disagree0

Work permit has nothing to do with selling a house ye t**t

Agree0 Disagree0

So we would buy 3 attackers? Seems probable

Agree0 Disagree0

4th comment is one of the funniest things i've read on this site

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad my 'house chain' comment got thru on bros email. Thanks ed's! I dont mean to belittle anyone as all rumours are welcome as rumours are what this site great and the reason we read it. But i think i speak for most when the odd sarcastic comment gets thru saying what we are all thinking! keep up work ed' s and if rumour is true i will be 1st to hold my hands up an offer my 2 bed semi as part ex in doncaster to help to move

I got a feeling that ozil will be an arsenal player next season and a deal will be tied up as soon as germany conclude their time at the euro's. Mourinho will get modric as his replacement

Believable22 Unbelievable45

This Ozil rumour is rubbish! A

Agree0 Disagree0

People said the Bergkamp deal was speculation! Look what happened there. HG

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't talk wet. Ozil has been mustard at the euro's. I'm sure Madrid want to keep him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling Spuds will be playing on Thursdays...is my response to the original poster..

US Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I also got a feeling he'll be wearing an Arsenal jersey next season

Agree0 Disagree0

They'll get rid of kaka..Not Ozil..
Drakey

Agree0 Disagree0

US Gooner why the hell would a Spud want us to get Ozil and lose Modric?

Gilo

Agree0 Disagree0

...please, let's be serious here...Ozil? Come on...

Agree0 Disagree0

Gilo, to wind us up and make us look like idiots...

US Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be great but Mourinho rates the boy and he's playing his socks off at the moment so i dont see any truth in this even though i would love it lol

Agree0 Disagree0

What planet do you people live on? You won't believe how much I would love Ozil to be a gunner, but get real its never gonna happen. Dunno were this rumor has surfaced from but thats all it is a silly rumour! Google search ozil move to arsenal and you won't find anything, nill, nadda!! Also Ozil has been fergies number 1 target for the past two years so if we put in a bid i can guaranty he would match the bid plus more/higher wages and city would start a bidding frenzy. Were small fish in the transfer market face it - Lucky to get M'villa/ giroud probably only coz there french and respect wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on US Gooner, Spuds aren't that clever!

Gilo

Agree0 Disagree0

SHUT THE f*** UP ABOUT OZIL

Agree0 Disagree0

So you think Arsenal will spend 10m on podolski, 10m on Giroud, maybe 17m on M'vila and then spend 25m.... on Ozil. it aint going to happen this is another fifa moment

Agree0 Disagree0

The way Ozil is playing - we cant afford him and Maurice will stoopid to let him go.

our january midfield signing thomas eisfeld will be promoted to the first team next season along with goalkeeper damian martinez. wenger has been impressed with them and feel there ready for the first team.
arsenal academy and reserve tracker

Believable34 Unbelievable14

From what I have watched of the reserves highlights etc Eisfeld does look like a player whos comfortable in his position and potentially unreaped in the reserves. Just my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a step up it loan to Southampton or another team in the prem for experience, as Wenger did with Frimpong, Wilshere etc. hope Martinez comes good too! From what I have seen Josh Rees looks like a solid and consistent player also. Hope we do see these guys in the first team soon.

Apparently we are in for Theodor Gebre Selassie for 6.5m.......dunno how much truth there is in it and unsure whether this would be a good move......what do you guys think

noobgooner

Believable14 Unbelievable38

I've been impressed with Gebre Selassie, would be a good, inexpensive back-up for Sagna.

Prior to the tournament he was on the verge of a move to Germany, I forget which team he was linked with but it seemed likely he would be in the Bundesliga next season.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Euro fever.

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes decent cheap and a mature age, very good at attacking and pacy

Agree0 Disagree0

Good at attacking but needs to work on his defendin

Agree0 Disagree0

He certainly wouldn't be worth 6.5 mil, and he would take some time to deal with the rigors of a much better league, so I hope we go for someone a bit younger, and possibly more versatile.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looked half decent in the tournament until tonight. poor touch, wenger wont go near him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has just signed for Werder Bremen for 1.5m.

Agree0 Disagree0

He officially signed for Werder Bremen today.

Hi Ed, do you know if there's anything in the works to bring in a keeper?

I'm sure Szczesny will turn out great, but right now he's not as good as people make him out to be. He could really do with some competition and/or and older experienced keeper to mentor him.

GOONA NUMBA 1 {Ed007's Note - I have heard of Arsenal interest in Allan McGregor of Rangers. With the current financial situation and his low release clause a lot of clubs are sniffing around.}

Believable23 Unbelievable13

Maybe craig gordon but mcgregor should be first choice

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2012 15:29:27
A Spanish contact of mine has I formed me of serious Arsenal interest in Ozil. Mourinho already looking for new CAM in the form of Modric and David Silva.

Wenger has mentioned recently on French TV that it was between Madrid and Arsenal when he moved two years ago.

Surely the sort of signing the fans, and maybe mr Van Persie, are looking for?

Believable34 Unbelievable25

Enough with the ozil rumours already. it's not true. END OF!

Agree0 Disagree0

I just dont see any logic at all why ozil would want to join us, after playing for what is if not the best club the second best club in the entire Universe. Unless you support crouton FC from the planet zargon.

Even as a arsenal nutter fan, if i was to lace up for madrid and had a very successful season, i would not look to join arsenal in what is a barren run to a decade.

Just being logical...try it...sometimes it makes you look like less of a muppet then the othes who like to say they are ITK and well turn out to be muppets.

Lakerville

Agree0 Disagree0

Got a feeling it might happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Madrid sell him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Also, why would he want to leave? We need answers to both those questions and then I might believe it as a possibility

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont no if i see him as a world class player, he's good but dont no if he's got the wow factor..

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

^^ What a s**t fan!

I'd bleed to play for Arsenal and would honestly leave Madrid to join Arsenal, even if they were in the football league.

StEvE

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil to arsenal wow dublin gooner ere id but one happy fan, any of the eds, heard of the possibility of him coming to arsenal.
i remeber two years ago rumours we linked with ozil but madrid must have gave him a better offer. eds if this is true does this deffo see Arshavin out of the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me too steve! Me too!

Agree0 Disagree0

His waves would be in excess of 100k and we won't pay that to a new player.

Modric and him a different styles of cam also.

It would fit in with our German Regeneration, but I'd imagine pur next German midfielder will be Lewis Holtby this window or jan or Mario gotze in a season or two.

Lewis Holtby is just wishful thinking probably, I'm super keen for him to join, because he's a good player and will only improve, but arsenal have been more open about targets so far, and no one from our side has really said anything about him!

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said StEvE, I'd pay to play for Arsenal, and I'd pay a damn sight more than my season ticket. If as an arsenal fan you'd quit for Madrid then please go and support them. I think that's the worst thing I've ever heard or seen a supposed gooner say..
N1Fox

Agree0 Disagree0

^^ Read again the post
he said that as an arsenal fan he would leave Madrid and not the other way around.
As far as this rumour goes i really dont believe it, he played well for them Mourinho rates him highly and right now he is playing very well for the national team.
Wenger will not pay 40million that would take to prize him away and then there are the wages.....
You will only let yourselves down with disappointment if you decide to believe this. Every Arsenal fan would love Ozil here but unfortunately i dont believe it will happen.
Mayor

Agree0 Disagree0

Those of you who would rather play for arsenal than play to win trophies, all i can say is that you lot are not winners, just competitors...your folks probably told you its not important to win as long as you compete...

I dont live like that...i like to win, or bloody die trying to win...in anything...either your at your best or you might as well be a bum on the road.

take it how you want to...theres a reason i respect players like messi, ronaldo, cesc, rvp, nasri, cashley and the likes...they put their money where their mouth is.

you StEvE probably support the djourous, and squillachi and denilsons of the club.

If you played at madrid you would leave to play with that lot? shows your ambition.

Lakerville.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Lakerville is certainly not the type of Arsenal fan i would like to be associated with.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lakerville you can jog on pal. You asked for a reason why madrid would sell...the spanish economy is up sh*t creek and when the banks start calling in the loans madrid and barca will have to sell to remain solvent. Ozil rumours maybe pie in the sky at this point in time, but dont kid yourself that that the spanish teams will never sell their star players.

Aussie Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2012 17:39:02
ill wait for that battle to be resolved.

I have no idea how the spanish economy has got anything to do with selling ozil and buying a 30mill replacement in modric...clearly you know alot about finance.

Im not in the know but i would recommend some of you try using your brains, it works wonders.

Lakerville.

Agree0 Disagree0

To lakeerville...soooo with that logic you would trade in your kids and girlfirend/wife...everytime something better came along...nothing personal but ur just a "winner" right...

...use some sense jus because someone is willing to stay or move to arsenal and not be with madrid does not make them any less of a winner...tbh a tru winner will win no matter where he plays...

...not saying i believe ozil will come to us jus sayin wat a s**t fan u r...and by ur logic shouldnt u b supporting city as they just won and ur a winner??

Ed, do you think the Ben Arfa rumours carry any weight? If not, do you reckon wenger will buy a CAM to challenge Rosiky? {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest in Ben Arfa from both Arsenal and Chelsea. I can tell you that there is a split opinion about him at Chelsea.}

Believable17 Unbelievable24

Ben Arfa seems like he has a propensity to upset his coaches - i'd hope we don't sign him

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd sign him, he gets on well with diaby!

Den

Agree0 Disagree0

That Diaby thing was when he was like 15.. remember VP and TV had arguments before he joined..

Wilshere will be more CAM next year
10/11 19 yrs 49 apps
Assists: 9 Goals: 2
Cesc: 19 yrs 50 apps
Assists: 5 Goals 5
creatively more ready than cesc at the same age so likely transitioned faster most likely playing with assist support from TR/Arteta/Ramsey/Song

Believable42 Unbelievable17

Agree0 Disagree0

Why just say that? Give us a quote from some where. Every day I see the same post. Arsenal sign m'vila. Getting boring now.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is because he is on his way, but not at 20m. The figure is 15m & it will be announced once the window opens in europe on 1st July. That is the end of the purchases, unless Fabianski or Djourou depart.

Flaming available on a free, I'd have him back as a DECENT squad player! Ed, any chance? {Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt it.}

Believable6 Unbelievable35

Anyone remember the years that Flamini was a crappy squad player (perhaps playing out of position i cant remember) but i used to groan when he came on, then one year, he suddenly became great! truly amazing... and then he left on a free! oh thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed he was awful until that one season, then people were moaning about not having him tied down to a contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd all sing: "He's French, no good, he lives in Hadley Wood, Flamini, Flamini". Then we had to change "no good" to he's good"...........oh what a fickle bunch we are!

ClockEndClockEndGiveUsaWave

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree,Flamini left us after one good season, also his mate Hleb,at the same time.Neither made a name for themselves after that. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Braintreegooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I would prefer Flamini over Diaby and Denielson, but Song and M'Villa would still be ahead of him in the squad.
Ypsigooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Weird though, that despite him leaving in bad terms and making no progress on the pitch elsewhere, we are still in a position where having him back is up for debate. The question is, does flamini still have enough in the tank to perform in the PL for a whole season? On his day he is like a terrier..but how many days does he have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Flamini felt hard done by and i cant blame him,he played left back for most of the season we played barca in the champs final and he was dropped in the final for cashley who left us also.then in midfield the next year we had rocisky fab flamini and helb as our mid which i believe if it hadnt been broken up so soon cud have been great.anyway thats a big no to having em back, leave the spuds ave em

col

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a reason why he has ran down his contract at marseilles, arsenal and now ac milan. money is a big motive for him. expect him to be at psg or malaga next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Flamoney 'knew' what he was doing running his contract down...he had ONE decent season other than that...avergae at best. We have more than enough average mid-fielders, so we do not need anothert...though he would be more welcome than lego head denilson.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2012 10:01:19
Flamini has been released by AC Milan. He is 28 years of age & is available on a free, should we resign him?

Believable17 Unbelievable49

If he is free then he should be resinged cause he has some awesome qualtiy and is now more experienced

Agree0 Disagree0

No thank you. he left us off the back of one good season when he could have stayed and has done nothing since and been in and out of an AC team that isnt exactly bursting with quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

He also ditched us for more money and has obviously fallen flat on his face.

Agree0 Disagree0

At sitting on the subs bench.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign him.

Forget our individual feelings on what is in the past. This is just like the Vertonghen situation where we all get to emonional and forget about football.

Simple question

Is Flamini better then Denilson? Yes

Could we get him for free while also getting money for Denilson? Yes

Would this improve both our squad and finance ? Yes

It's simple guys .... Its for the better of the team if we sign him and sell Denilson.

Just like vertonghen ..... I know, I know he was in love with Spurs but so was Sol Campbell and look what he did for us.

We must forget our emptions and do whats best for this team. Signing guys on a free while making profit from crap like Denilson may be the only way we can compete with the money of Chelsea and City.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sign m'vila we dont need him! With coqulien(spelling) n frimpong and alex song all pushing for that holding role and the decent selection of wilshere arteta rosicky ramsay and diaby where do u see flamini fitting in when we are only allowed 25 player squad? Leave him, he chosethe money n shud now jus be another example of players leavin arsenal after 1 good year! Iiiiiiiidiot! An as for vertonghen..... The guys nearly as slow as mertesacker so dnt b downhearted if he dnt sign, we need to look for a pacey centre bk who is good at rb aswell coz jenkinson is not good enuff cover for sagna, any1 kno if were lookin at cover for sagna?

Flamini has been released by ac milan, any chance we would have him back, would save us 20 million on buying unproven m'vila
Stee

Believable10 Unbelievable41

If he is that good ,why has he been released by AC Milan

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is only 28yrs old, there must be some problem with an injury.I'm sure Wenger would know the reason, and if it is an injury, then Wenger won't touch him.
Braintreegooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Despite being a free from marsielle he ending up costing us a couple of mill at a tribunal of which for his first 3 years he was meh, we nearly sold him to birimingham but only cos gilberto was coming back late from international duty meant he got to play. he played so well in his final year of his contract we sold diarra to portsmouth and let gilberto go only for this guy to leave on a free and now he is doing the same at milan.
no way, he's cack.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unproven French international, like Walcott and chamberlain were league 1 players before Wenger signed them. How many bad signings has Wenger made I can't think of many, then think of all the unknown gems he signed

In arsene I trust

Agree0 Disagree0

He is nowhere near as good as m'villa anymore, stop living in the past

Rumours are speculating that Jack Wilshere has sacked his agent "because he will never leave Arsenal", ed do you know anything about this? Its great news if it is
AYoungGunner {Ed001's Note - I don't know, I would be very surprised if he left Arsenal though, shocked in fact.}

Believable19 Unbelievable18

If jack wilshere ever left arsenal of his own free will (by that I mean that we don't tell him to leave, or he doesn't have a massive bust up with the hierarchy of the club over something) I will be astounded.

Been here since he was 9, I think he'll be our iniesta soon, I say iniesta because I still expect Ramsey to be our Xavi *shock horror!*

Rambo had some tough times, not to mention someone dies every time he scores!
But just remember, no one really rated Xavi till about 4-5 years ago, before then he was close to being shipped off to utd!
