Did I read right and Pete Cech got player of the year?
So Alexis obviously isn't pulling his weight!
Am I going mad or does this look like a bit of bitterness towards him.
How in the World would you choose Cech over Sanchez? Someone help me please .

I think Cech got Czech player of the year, although I might be wrong.

21 Mar 2017 21:21:51
He did, which shows you how crap they are. Not sure he's even Arsenals best Czech player.

Is Alexis Czech? if not I can predict that the best Slovakian player of the year will be Hamsik. sorry Alexis it couldn't be you☺.

hi ed, i remember you saying dybala was our top target before he joined juventus, would we still hold any interest? thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure I have never used the term "top target" but Arsenal were interested when Paulo Dybala was at Palermo and they made a cash offer - but it is short of what Palermo were looking for.

Right now Juventus would like to keep Dybala but are aware that there is interest from Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid. The player will move to Real Madrid if they can strike a deal but what they will offer to start with will be two players plus a little cash. Barcelona would need to sell to make anything happen. Arsenal can strike him off the list.}

Sorry yes, preferred option was I think what you said. Thanks for the info as always Ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Ed,

The papers are full of purported targets, particularly Lacazette. Is this a bad time to ask for a transfer target update? If you say be patient, I can be. I've been waiting for years now for us to resign Eboue.

{Ed002's Note - I was going to do it last week Alex but the vegetables have been wrestless. Perhaps at the end of this week.

However, interest in Lyon's Alexander Lacazette from Newcastle and Inter has long gone. Additionally, whilst Guy Hillion has continued to extol his virtues but there is no support whatesoever from the folks in London for a bid at this time - so prior interest of Chelsea has gone. Barcelona, Atletico, Juventus and Spurs had him watched late last season - but Barcelona had another solution in mind for what they want and will not be following up. Atletico would need to overcome their transfer ban but he is one of the two players they see as potential forwards they would like to do business for. Juventus took it no further and moved to hold talks about another player and Spurs purchased Janssen but may still want to add a striker in the summer - and Lacazette may become an option again so I would not discount Spurs nor Juve.

West Ham enquired after Lacazette's availability previously and submitted two bids that were rejected - but wages and the lack of desire from the player to move to a club like WHU means that option has probably gone - plus Lacazette will want Champions League football.

Arsenal decided that the asking price was too high in the summer and opted, for reasons beyond me, for Lucas Perez. I don't know if they might return in the coming summer but they will be in the market for a striker and Lacazette might well be a good option for them - much will however depend on who the manager is.

He is not first or second choice for PSG but they could potentially turn to him if they fail to bring anyone else in - I think a less likely option.

I am not aware of Liverpool showing any interest in the player, but (a) if they look to move Sturridge on (which I think they will), (b) if Liverpool qualify for the Champions League, and (c) if Liverpool have the stomach to pay what will likely be €60M for the player, then Lacazette might well be an option.

Lacazette is a player that Mourinho has looked at from his time at Chelsea, but any interest will depend on what happens with Ibrahimovich. Right now they have shown no interest.

Lyon are very difficult to negotiate with and they may well see an Gallic shrug in response to any initial bids. Lacazette wants English money and Champions League or Juventus. Lyon will look for at least €10M more for a sale to an English side as they know what they can expect from elsewhere. Two French players who have played in England have been providing advice to Lacazette that it is not essential to move to England immediately, but I suspect he has other ideas now.}

Awesome Ed thanks. Short of telling me that Manu was coming back to wear No. 27, that's the best answer I could hope for.

It has just dawned on me, that all the negativity that is happening, and has been for a while. Some say deservedly. It may bring Wenger out of his ways and do some early business in the transfer market going that extra few quid and hopefully uniting the fans.

I do think the unrest has shocked the board. For me Sanchez will go, he wants the money, he is not playing with his heart as he did in the beginning. Sad but true I feel.

Ozil, well I don't know if he is an arsenal player. I think we have missed Caz, the little man passes, runs his heart out for the clubm

So trade in those two super stars, and a few bits of dead wood, and start buying 5 good quality players. I think all we need is:
GK, RB, CB, RW, CF.

We need players that want to play and not argue about how much they are getting.
At 52 I could still play, i might not be as quick as I was, but I would be clapped off for my effort. (well hopefully).

What is with the Wenger love in, do you honesty believe in him? He has lost it.

Clear reasons:

No captain or leader, in the past we had Adems, kewon, cole, Campbell, Petit, Vieira, Henry to name just a few, now we have Los st a push. To put the armband on Gibbs is a joke.

Not playing players who play well - what message do you think this sends out to our team - utter garage management.

Same playing style over and over again despite the fact it's clear other teams have worked us out. We had all our success playing 442 and Leicester won the league with said formation, but he has not gone back to it or tried anything different in years - joke management again.

No passion just sitting on the touchline holding his belly, makes predictable subs on 70 minutes which also seem pre set before a ball is kicked and nothing to do with what's going on in the game.

Don't even get me started on our injury record - how players miss a whole season without even knowing what's wrong with them.

You really think we should just sit back and let him ruin the club further. Would you let a mate drive home drunk because he said he is fine - get in the real world and open your eyes.

Doubt it. Apparently Barcelona seem insistent on Alumni/ with ties to the club.

Ed002 in your opinion who would u WANT arsene to stay and go? And another question is that if he did go who WOULD YOU replace him with? I want your opinion and what manager u would personally favour.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think it is an appropriate time to leave and as I have said iver and iver, Max Allegri would be the best option to replace him.}

21 Mar 2017 13:53:21
Now is an appropriate time to leave and Allegri would be a great option. However I do wish some people would voice that opinion respectfully. Getting bored of so many social media sites or the media in general making it sound like he is some mediocre manager who has lost the plot.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Mar 2017 12:50:50
Oh sorry mate, next time i will read the posts. Do u have any other managers u think should replace him, other than the ones everyone usually says?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal ony need one manager at a time.}

21 Mar 2017 16:09:57
No i mean other than the usual names do u have someone else in mind which could be interesting? For example, brendan rodgers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't really understand. The club has approached three people through a third party to guage interest as I have explained. I have said who I think would be best. There are others the club could turn to when the time is right.}

21 Mar 2017 16:39:41
Lool ed i mean in YOUR OPINION who should the club get OTHER THAN the normal name that everyone else says?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think Allegri as I keep saying - I have no idea what everyone else says. There are alternatives the club will consider based on timing.}
