Marca just announced on their website that Modric will play in Madrid next season. So i think either Kaka or Ozil is surplus to requirements. I would love to see one of them in red and white ! {Ed022's Note - The situation with Kaka remains an interesting one. There has been consideration regarding offering Kaka in a player+cash deal in a bid to seal Modric from Spurs, but the wages he would demand would be WAY above Spurs' finances, however a deal could be ironed out. However, a more probable option is for Kaka to be used in a player+cash deal for the Brazillian midfielder Lucas Moura. All very confusing but Kaka will probably not be at Madrid next season. Hope this helps.}

Believable24 Unbelievable8

Why do people assume that signing Modric means that they'll sell Ozil?

Real Madrid want to strengthen their team, they want to have BOTH Ozil and Modric.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because Players Like Ozil Et Al Want Playing Time to.

Agree0 Disagree0

They will play all the time. Midfield of:

-----Alonso---Modric-----
DiMaria---Ozil---Ronaldo

Not to shabby, eh?

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

Luka Xabi
Sami

Agree0 Disagree0

Also If They Get Lucas I Can Defo See Ozil Leaving.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, Ozil surplus to requirements?, he is there second best player, modric is not even half as good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil will not leave Madrid! If they sign Moura they'll either loan him back or will sell DiMaria, NOT Ozil!

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

But Ozil is far better than Modric

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil announced that he want to improve further under mourinho next season, so unless wenger is going to be replaced with the portugees(wich is highly unlikley) Ozil will be playing for real madrid next season.

I don't think we will sign kaka either, he is over the top and I bet wenger rather would recruit a younger player with potentual and lower wage demands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaka, Gago, Granero, Albiol, Sahin, Joselu, Jese is the most likley players to leave, Ozil wont

Agree0 Disagree0

Its well known that kaka isnt going to see game time next season. A replacement is needed for kaka, so theres the source of speculation...modric is possible, along with many others

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone really believe Real Madrid are going to the sell the best player at the Euros?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil is probably 5th best player in the world behind ronaldo messi xavi and iniesta

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil is surplus to requirements :))))) funny

RVP spotted lunching in Hale, Manchester according to former England cricketer Neil Fairbrother. As reported in Manchester evening news. Make of it what you will.

GoonerDan

Believable10 Unbelievable32

I make it out that he was enjoying a lovely lunch in Manchester. What do you make it out as?

G95

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true i have a feeling he may be talking to man utd as man city stated they would not pay more than 15 million due to his age and injury record.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the guy is lying because RvP isn't even in the country...

Agree0 Disagree0

But United Have No Money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless someone got a picture of this then I call BS and it's not hard to take a picture in this day and age of camera phones.

Arsenal Scooby

Agree0 Disagree0

RSVP is not in England, and is about too fly east to join the pre season tour. So what I make of it is that this is utter bs. He prob saw another guy with short dark har, average build, average height, a little goofy

Agree0 Disagree0

All bs! His father said he wouldn't join another English team

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether he stays or not I don't know and I won't believe anything until it is confirmed by the player and club. What I do know (or perhaps want to believe) Is that if RVP stays in the Premier League, it will be for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP just got spotted on the M4... I cant believe hes gonna leave us for M4 FC.....

Agree0 Disagree0

If seen in Manchester must be going to one of the clubs. No other reason to spend time in that ****hole!

Agree0 Disagree0

He in aruba so he not in manchester

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should seel rvp and while he worth something and bring in heskey on a free and kevin davis...also buy titus bramble, paddy kenny, owen hargreaves and david bentley

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a hoax, i hate mancs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats A Lie Because RVP Is On Holiday In The Carabian

Agree0 Disagree0

Its true I saw him eating a hotpot and also a drink in the Rovers.....He then asked for a taxi to the City ground saying he will sign for them as he goes against everything his dad says...

Arsenal Holdings plc has announced the £26m sale of Queensland Road development site to Barratt and London & Quadrant.

Believable40 Unbelievable3

Thanks for that transfer rumour. We can read arsenal.com for ourselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought arsenal sold some land in the same road for 25m around a year ago......could you tell us how you come across this info......thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we a real estate company now?

Ash

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to ash, are we a real estate company now? How do you think clubs make money nowadays. What did Sunderland, Middlesbrough, man city, stoke, Swansea, do with there old stadiums? Give them to charity? When we bought the land for the emirates what happened to highbury. It got knocked down and built into flats which to an extent has funded the team for the past few years. The land that has just been sold will do the same. We make 26 mill for doing pretty much nothing to it so the property company can do the rest, build flats blah blah blah. So yes we are making money from real estate/ land.

ED we have confirmd the signing of two good strikers in podolski and in giroud also the m'via deal is looking better each day but dont you think he needs more defenders to provide cover for TV per mertsacher and sanga also he should offload squalaci and djouro

Believable40 Unbelievable9

Squilacci must be disposed of. I am not a great fan of Djourou either. However, we have two promising youngsters in Barltley & Miquel, who need to play & must be considered for the 4th choice position. I cant see any top class CB fancy being 4th choice to 3 internationals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have alot of utility players. also the likes of koser can play RB, and song can play CB.

we have arteta, song, coquelin, wilshere, who can play cdm.

coquelin can play rb, thers jenkinson too who would be sagna's deputy.

having giroud and poldi and gerv and ox and theo and rvp, makes our winger and striking dept complete.

what we actually lack is a CAM. having ramsey and rosicky and we need a player there.

but it looks like wenger will go for mvila and trust one of wilshere or arteta to play the cam role. over the other two.

Agree0 Disagree0

I consider Jenkinson amongst the likes of Cygan, Stepanovs and Squillaci. Useless and should never have been signed. We NEED a RB as cover

Chess

Agree0 Disagree0

We havent confirmed Giroud nor offical poldolski i think as the window is not open yet so potentially both could still be nicked, although Poldoski is very very unlikely lol. you dont know how Bartley and Miquel fit into Wengers plans he may off load Squid and Djourou and get them two to step up in which I would mind for 4th and 5th choice CB i would prefer us to try and develop our youth more than buying bench player who want paying more without seeing much game time
dan

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to forget bartley. He isnt at the age now where a loan is seen as temporary. We wouldnt play squillachi in the team if bartley was of any use.

Agree0 Disagree0

At the guy saying we need a CAM - we don't really, because we will probably play like this.

M'Vila
Song / Arteta / Jack (any 2)

No CAM, just two CM's in front of M'Vila.

Also, RVP missed 25 clear-cut chances last season, so that means we created 55+ clear-cut goalscoring opportunities, I don't think we really need more creativity, just more solidity in defence which M'Vila will hopefully provide.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bartley was on a season long loan at the former spl club glasgow rangers thus that is why he was not used last season however he was used and played well in last seasons pre season games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dan arsenal HAVE confirmed the signing of poldoski. He would not be on arsenal.com with a arsenal shirt on otherwise. He has not been given a number yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenkinson is not useless!

He's just 100% not ready... yet.

StEvE

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Chess

Writing off a 20 year old who has only made 9 starting appearances for The Arsenal is one of the most moronic things I've read on this site.

I'm very confident Jenkinson will prove you wrong in the near future.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree, Bartley has not made the step up unfortunately. Miquel is a tasty talent and I can see Wenger promoting him to more game time. I don't see Arteta as the dynamic CAM more his current role of deep lying playmaker. We will rotate Song, Arteta and either Diaby or M'Vila.

Him signing will depend on the futures of current squad members.

In Arsene I Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chess, jenkinson, was bought on promise, he had some dodgy games when the club were in turmoil but improved immensely as the season went on, is quick and a great crosser, but it seems you have damned him out of hand. i think in a couple of years a lot of people will eat their words on him. i am not responded to our need or otherwise of a right back just your knee jerk unfair dismissal of a promising young player as useless.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi all, been reading for some time on this site; really enjoy reading but this is my first post so..
Podolski not certain yet??; even though he is on the official AFC site wearing the kit, has been interviewed on the AFC site and also during Euro'12 has sais how much he wants us AFC fans to see what he can do etc?. Also, Wenger has spoke about how impressed he is with Poldi?
-ArchwayGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with most on here that we're sorted at CB with Kos/Verm with Per as backup and Miquel as our future bright spot--lad looks great at this stage, and hoping we can see him paired with Mertesacker in some FA cup or Carling matches, ready to step in should Per or our CB pairing get injured.

Position I'm most worried about actually is CAM, as said above. I am confident Wilshere will give it a good shot, though, should he be given the chance. Hope he recovers, really do. Will outshine Fabregas IMO

Juventus seemed to have distanced themselves with a move for RVP saying they don't want to buy any 'stars'.

make of it what you may.

Believable27 Unbelievable9

Lol i heard they cant afford the Ice Cream

Gavsta =]

Agree0 Disagree0

Think RVP was hoping Barca or Real would come in for him but that seems unlikely so i think he will stay for the simple option no one really wants him

they no longer are a team that can attract stars, van persie would be crazy to move there, a major step down in my opinion, we are a club on the up again, rvp will stay and sign the new contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Chocolate bar not ice cream!! Big money to be spent at juve this season. They will also be realising a number of deadwood, if van persie goes what are the chances of zlatan or llorente?
