Gervinho and Sanga look set to leave and relieve some money from the wage bill with their preferred destinations being France. Expect them each to go for about £6m - £10m

Believable50 Unbelievable21

Great news for Gervinho, Sagna can be replaced I think, Jenkinson is getting better and better and Corchia or Piszcechk would be a good replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanga will go for free he out of contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would pay that sort of money for Gervinho. It has probably escaped people's attention that French clubs (with the exception of PSG and Monaco) buy low and sell high. So we will be lucky to sell him to France for half what we paid. Can't even see a Turkish club bidding form him. Just be good to get him off the wage bill! (Another Wenger failed punt!)

Agree0 Disagree0

His contract runs out next year but he refusing to sign an extension.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lyon want Gervinho 14mill

Agree0 Disagree0

Gervinho going nowhere, but Sagna will leave. He'll want big wages I think so a move to Monaco may be on the cards for him.

Hi ed what's the latest on jovetic? And what do you think the chances are on saving him?

Many thanks {Ed029's Note - Ed02 said earlier there is a twist or two to come.}

Believable19 Unbelievable16

Ed does this mean jovetic may not join arsenal?plz reply {Ed029's Note - He has not explained these 'twists'.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Alright we got CR than. What a twist!
But seriously I'm just happy we are spending some money to show the upset fans that Arsenal want to win.

Agree0 Disagree1

He doesn't know then. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate Ed2's comments but he never gets transfers right - at arsenal anyway, and everyone can see that this transfer is being made sticky by the club; trying to drum up speculation involving juve & chelsea

Paul

Agree0 Disagree1

"Ed002 said Jovetic to Arsenal will happen this summer" LoL eds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal will end up buying Benteke or if we are very lucky Romelu Lukaku. Like Arsene said there is more money out there than talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are forever being tantalised by the great ed002.

If only we were good boys we would know more.

Can someone remind me if he ever got anything right. I certainly know he got many many wrong.

the sites almost as good as having a 3 day delay from tv. {Ed029's Note - He's gone from here so why keep harping on about him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 029 you brought ed002 into the conversation not us. you stated that "ed002 says there will be a twist" that is why people are harping on about him. I will say I rate ed002 and he is a loss to any page

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes me wonder if we have any real interest in these players or are we just all talk again. He seems there for the taking so why we messing about. Not meaning to sound negative but can't help but wonder with our club sometimes

Agree0 Disagree1

Listen all you persons who decide to abuse the ed. leave the site. ! what's the point. nothing in the transfer world is ever really certain. so just leave the site. instead of spoiling it for others. it is just stupid and childish.

Is this a ploy to mention these high profile players every transfer window to encourage season ticket sales, and then strangely enough lose out to our rivals once again?
Season after season I feel deflated to have to go to the bargain basement once more.

just received info from a friend that Steve Bould is being looked at by stoke to take over as boss and he is very interested in taking the post!
now thinking this may open the door for Bergkamp/Henry to take his place!

Believable36 Unbelievable31

Stoke fan - heard this today as well - don't know about Henry etc - but bould ex stoke has been mentioned at stoke for over a year now, hope we get him.

Agree0 Disagree1

Dont know about henry and bergkamp but really hoping this doesn't happen. it can be no coincidence that we have acheived 2nd best defensive record with Bould.

Bergkamp won't get on a plane. Henry won't help with the defence. Think a stoke supporter came on here 3 weeks ago regarding Bould. Adams. Dixon

Agree0 Disagree0

Berkamp or Thierry as defence coach? get real!

Fiorentina Sporting Director has just stated that "Arsenal are not an option for Jovetic. There has been no contact from Arsenal and I don't know if Wenger is even interested in him. "

Well that looks like that then!

Believable30 Unbelievable55

Looks like we're gna lose out to chelsea anyways. just like mata!

Agree1 Disagree1

Then Arsenal should put more effort to get Higuaín then, rather than a youth player

Agree0 Disagree2

Fiorentina sporting director is obviously full of bs

Agree2 Disagree0

We know Chelsea want Schrulle but this Jovetic talk I think is rubbish. Numerous sites and journalists are reporting Chelsea told Manchester United to name their price for Rooney and of recent hold an interest in Cavani. This could possibly mean on the other hand a deal is in place for Jovetic to join Arsenal and Arsene doesn't want a transfer war.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you expect Fiorentina to say ' yes we are selling Jovetic to Arsenal and we don't want any more bidders'?

They want a bidding war no matter what deal they may have verbally agreed on!

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely Josh it would make more sense for them to say something like "Arsenal are very interested and have made a bid" if they want other clubs to make a bid as well? Saying nobody is interested isn't exactly going to get clubs scrambling is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be true. Bloke said.
Come On! You cannot take every utterence at face value. It is widely reported that Arsenal are interested in Jovetic - agree that there are no direct quotes - and it is a very transparent and wholly expected comment by anyone connected with Fiorentina who would wish to keep discussions confidential/wind the price up.
Truth is, none of us ever know - even Malaga Gooner! - what is happening in advance, although I am meeting the H. R. Director of Arsenal F. C. tomorrow (true) - not that I suspect she'll be whispering behind her hand to me Arsene's summer targets.

Agree0 Disagree0

One day these newspaper publish its a done deal and very next day it says will be and say after some other club plans to hijack the deal. These tactics are simply use to sell their paper or increase traffic to their sites.
We can only hope that Wenger does spend. Have this feeling in the end it will all be cheap buys. Hope me wrong but that's what's happened in last few transfer windows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully we get higuain then :P

Agree0 Disagree0

THAT means were in for him then, arsen said he wasn't close to signing pod and then we got him

@ mhc

My point is if a deal is in place to sign him it would probably be in Arsenal's interest to stay out of the headlines whilst other clubs like Man City and Juventas scramble for his signature. Fiorentina have been speaking out about a number of clubs having interest in their player Man City, Juventas this is why I made the 'bidding war' comment. I personally believe a deal has been put in place to sign him, news is reporting his agent is in London today ironing out personal terms as a fee has been agreed. Whether this is true we remain to find out but I guess I'm more hopeful than anything about our transfer dealings right now.

Man City and Chelsea are considering moves for Jovetic as an alternative to primary targets Cavani/Falcao although the main competition for the move is Juventus.

A swap between gonalons and Gervinho is now a serious consideration between the two clubs

Believable43 Unbelievable19

22 May 2013 09:54:14
Fiorentina would rather sell abroad than to Juve unless Juve's offer is significantly more than what they are asking for.

Big Al {Ed029's Note - Ed02 has said there may well be a twist or two before anything is settled with Jovetic.}

Agree0 Disagree0

People are saying higuain AND jovetic! i'd take one of those right now, than losing both and ending up with a 12 millionish player as we will do if we sniff around both trying to get them cheap. Now is the time before chelsea and man c bring in new managers and make the summer talk about destabilising jack and cazorla. Jovetic is an absolutely brilliant fit for arsenals style whereas giroud showed enough to make me think he can be a 25 goal a season striker next year so i'd prefer jovetic over the more fox in the boxy higuain.

Agree1 Disagree0

A lot of sites and journalists are reporting that Jovetic would prefer coming to England than going to Juventas but to join Man City as he nearly joined them last summer but agreed to stay for another year.

I think Arsenal have made an offer why some Viola players have warned Jovetic against a move because they understand that there is serious interest.

I think the twist is Arsenal vs Man City if he goes England or the slimmer chance he goes Juventas to strengthen his former club's rivals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know what sort of twist that Ed002 was talking about?
Other clubs interested? {Ed029's Note - No mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well not city or chelsea city got isco on their rador and chelsea are inches away from schurrel
