Ed is there possibility of us signing hazard this window or at summer {Ed002's Note - Unless an extraordinary bid matching the clubs valuation is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Whilst Real Madrid or Barcelona remain his preferred destination PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem. However, Chelsea have discussed the player with Lille and an offer by Chelsea is very much a possibility. Additionally they may offer up a player to move in the other direction come the summer (when he will be available).}

So allegedly this afternoon Eden Hazard has been quoted as saying:

"With all respect to Chelsea, I'd rather join a club with history such as Liverpool or Arsenal."

I'm still trying to find out if they were clear-cut made up quotes or if he actually said it...

=M.A. {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't read too much into it. Gervinho gave him tickets to the match and he was not there in any official capacity.}

Fake, nice to hear but fake, unfortunately

Ed,

I know he was given the tickets by Gervinho... Not sure what the quote had to do w/ that though? Not being rude.

I'm still of the impression somebody decided to "make up" the quote and it's being spread like wildfire as I say I'm trying to ascertain the originator of the source but it does seem to have just come from some person on Twitter.

=M.A. {Ed027's Note - most likely

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard has a little more ambition so if the manager doesnt start winning we will get no one

Agree0 Disagree0

Gervinho didn't give him tickets, me and my friends were in his box

Ed, how likely would you say Matias Suarez is to joining us in the summer? Or do we already have an agreement? Thanks.

JH. {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off - and there is no agreement.}

What you're saying could well be true- lets face it, it wouldn't exactly be a shock. and in a way I don't blame him, he is a top player and deserves to be playing in a better

high ranking member of lloyds of london. great bs mate.... RVP said he will not talk about contracts until summer when the season is finish - and lets be honest that is the obvious way of doing it.

I fear this will do nothing to 'kick-start' the board into big signings. There is clearly a business plan in place that was in place ahead of the Highbury-Emirates transition to deal with the debt as a priority, and they are sticking with it.
The worry, like most people's, lies in the fact that without the recruisite gate receipts that could occur from a downward spiral in league position, COULD make this business plan redundant. Lower gate receipts = less disposable income and less transfer budget when and if the 'financial fair play rules' come into affect.
Lower league position, POTENTIAL lack of European football = less incentive for players to come.
I do hope that the board realises that footballers memories are not like a fans'. A good technical footballer at the age of 23 may remember back some 9 years or so to what a club was like, but let's be honest taking Lukaku as an example, probably sees Chelsea as a 'bigger', more 'successful' club than Arsenal. My point is, that the draw of past glories only counts for so much. As the latest talent are having to peer further and further back in time before they can recall Arsenal being a great team.
I appreciate that I haven't explained this as well as I could (time constraints), but I hope you get the general gist.
The longer we go without success the less potential targets remember it, and therefore, their perception is different.

Just a thought.

additionally 10 years down the line, the 5-15 year olds watching football just now who could become great players will see man u, man c, chelsea etc as big successful clubs, whereas we are looking like also-rans... when they come to agree terms with a club arsenal will be will down the list due to this spell we are having. also, other than RVP we dont have any truly inspirational players that the youngster of today would aspire to be i.e "i want to be the next arshavin/ramsay/mert/rosicky/diaby" etc etc etc

Wenger out as soon as a suitable suitor to the throne is found!

What about Jurgen Klopp from Dortmund? Maybe he could bring Götze, Honda and Hummels with him...

I'd love Brendon Rogers, look at the amazing job he's done with swans. he'd be great at a bigger club

According to Bryan Law Van Persie has had a transfer request rejected. {Ed001's Note - are you referring to the fake Bryn Law Twitter account?}
