Arsenal close in on Santi Cazorla signing
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Malaga winger Santi Cazorla, with manager Arsene Wenger hopeful a £15.6m offer will be enough to seal the deal.

Is this true??

Any news anyone?

Believable42 Unbelievable16

Apprently, but once a rumour comes out everyone likes to exaggerate just look at the mvila rumours that stretche for so long with many people saying it was definatly but wenger just said hes not interested unless we have a midfield injury!

Agree1 Disagree0

Bloke down the pub told me so, must be true !

Agree1 Disagree0

Noticed in the euros del bosque was bringing him on most games ahead of mata, if hes rated higher than mata within the spanish camp this would be quite a coup for us! this deal feels more realistic than the m'vila situation and he would be a much better nasri replacement than benayoun who although didnt do badly was farrrr from a world beater

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga does not want to sell him. they bought him at 18m last season. they wont sell at 15m.

Agree0 Disagree0

But why malaga then told that cazorla is NOT for sale?

finland gooner?

Agree0 Disagree0

According to various sources it's pretty obvious that we are interested but the transfer will only go through if Malaga has to sell. In other words if their sugar daddy is not going to give them massive cash injection before the end of the month. I believe, however, that Malaga will get their money and therefore don't have to sell and we don't get Cazorla.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because Malaga want more money. It is not a matter of whether they WANT to sell him, they have to if a big enough bid comes in.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont believe that Santi Cazorla is our answer, I base my decision on pure stats. We need a playmaker who creates goals. Carzola has only managed 33 assists in 251 club games, not that impressive and at 27 dont think its going to change much?

Mark
SA Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

He will join as malaga need money to pay off their debts to the spanish taxman and the government said they'll punish any clubs in debt due to teh economic state of spain.

Agree0 Disagree0

They definitely will if their owner doesn't pay his debts. would malaga rather stay in la liga, get champions league money and lose their best player/s or get relegated, keep cazorla but lose all that money?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why did we maintain for so long that RvP wasn't for sale...drive the price up and warn off interest as long as you can.

LD

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, the reported release clause is 45m, so we are not going to match that. Therefore it's up to Malaga if they WANT to sell and they don't. Our only hope is their economic crisis which I believe will be sorted out soon.

I want Cazorla just as bad as any gooner but I'm just saying DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP. This has Mata written all over it

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal will be hijacked by Man City, who have money to burn

Agree0 Disagree0

Santi Cazorla has agreed terms with Arsenal. Just waiting for Malaga to accept the bid. He will arrive soon, thats for sure.
The deal will probably be closed around 15m to 17m pounds.
That would be a great signing. Just hope it gets done.

Believable38 Unbelievable16

Mate wenger has said this wont happen {Ed027's Note - m8 you have to stop beliving wenger, it will only lead to heartache, not saying we will sign Mvilla and Carzola, but Wenger chats sh*t

Agree2 Disagree1

Arsen also said he didnt have interest about podolski to start of with and then bang, signed- arsen does this alot before transfers

Agree1 Disagree0

This don't make sense Malaga have to agree the deal or offer before Arsenal can talk to the player.

Agree1 Disagree0

When is this going to finish

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga only have to give AFC permission to talk to the player. They then can work out the fee between the clubs and the player's demands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate it when people make statement's like this.. 'terms agreed, will be signing within 42 hour's, done deal blah blah blah BS'... Like they was at the meeting and took the lid of the pen for him to sign with.

Arsene Wenger will look at Loic Remy of Marseille if Van Persie leaves, which is highly likely with the most probable destination Juventus. Wenger has been a long time admirer of Remy, who sees him as the next Thierry Henry, and Remy would be open too the move if an offer came in, although he is settled at Marsielle. However, Spurs would almost certainly try too hijack the deal as they are in the market for a striker, and were after him under Redknapp!

Carzola is a real possibility if Malaga agree to sell. Terms have apparently been reached between the player and the club, but this is not for definite. What worries me is if this potential transfer turns into the Mata saga last year, where it seems done and dusted, but another club comes in offering higher wages and blows us out of the water! Would like Carzola, very versatile and fits the Arsenal mould. Lets hope the rumours are true!

Walcott to sign a new contract very soon. I said from day 1 he would say with his comments about how he is looking forward to this new season with Oxlade-Chamberlain at Arsenal. Koscielny signing is great news! That is what commitment means Robin!

Ganso is someone who Wenger is interested in, but with his 3rd party owners, and his high price tag, this isn't as likely unfourtantley, especially if Carzola is signed, although both of these signings would really make us a force to be reckoned with!

A few more smaller signings could be made, like Egyptian left back Milo depending on how successful he is at the Olympics.

Believable15 Unbelievable30

I note that you spell Cazorla wrong, just like some "in the know" on twitter. Either you are the same person or you believe everything you read and then re-post on here as your own fact.

Agree6 Disagree1

Can we get his name right? It's Cazorla, not Carzola.

The Remy signing would only make sense if he's relegated to bench. He's nothing special, and wouldn't be a big help to a club with bigger aspirations like Arsenal. If he's brought into play some substantial role, it'll be a problem.

Also on the Cazorla link, I know everyone is excited to have him here, but apparently all the English media are running with one central rumour that seems to have popped up from somewhere regarding him already having agreed to terms with Arsenal. While it may be true, it would be good to stay cautious. The Spanish media have reported little, and what they have reported is word for word taken from what the English media are reporting.

I really hope the deal goes through, but I'm also tired of all these players Arsenal are linked to, but never seem to end up at Emirates in the end.

Agree2 Disagree2

Thanks for placing all the known arsenal news we've all had over the week. What did you google arsenal then copy and paste? All stuff we've heard and know

We are in talks with marsielles for Loic Remy and we are leading the chase ahead of Tottenham. The fee is £16.5 million and the move will be announced before the first game of the season, he is presumably the replacement for R.v.P. Also Santiago Cazorla to Arsenal is 100% false and will not happen.
>Believe me if you want to but it will happen.
89'Gooner

Believable12 Unbelievable38

I would fully expect the Cazorla deal to happen, this one has legs and is gathering pace, The Guardian and Graham Hunter are both trustworthy sources and we know we tried to sign him last season only to be outbid by Malaga. Cazorla is obviously not happy at the financial situation and would get a guarantee of CL football with Arsenal, I see this one happening...and soon.

Javis

Agree5 Disagree1

Why would we be after someone the Spuds are after, were better than that.

Agree7 Disagree3

Spot on...graham Huter gets most things right.......

Agree4 Disagree3

Why do people make statements like "Spuds were after him, why should we do the same"

Yes, and Spuds were also after Cazorla, so why aren't we having none of that?

Agree2 Disagree0

Lmao so if messi ran down his contract and was available and spurs did want him then he's not good enough for arsenal? person! Just because spurs do.or don't want someone, should have no sway into whether we want them, the only factor should be will he improve our squad.

Agree1 Disagree0

Theres a difference between wanting a player and actually having a chance of buying him. Spurs are after Remy, they might get him, Spurs want Carzola, they wont get him.

City Talk - Alisher Usmanov is thought to be looking into buying Stan Kroenke shares for £300-£350m, which he bought for £200m.

Azz the Gooner

Believable37 Unbelievable24

Fingers crossed but I want Wenger to stay.

Rob

Agree10 Disagree2

Don't want this shady bloke putting his grubby fingers around the club. Not defending Kroenke, but Usmanov is a right old w***er

Agree7 Disagree7

Why is he shady, don't no much about him but have heard this before

Agree4 Disagree3

Kroenke has previously turned down a larger offer, so not going to expect this......

Agree4 Disagree2

Abramovic is dodgy yet chelsea fans dont give a toss.

Agree3 Disagree3

Go look up about usmanov, it's depressing so many arsenal fans are prepared to ignore his filthy past and believe me it is filth, just so they can have his money, which he has never even promised anyway. I prey these fans think twice when deciding who they want to babysit their kids. Let's keep some class and decorum which is lacking at so many other clubs. You know who I'm talking about. UP THE GOONERS. Flybo

Agree4 Disagree2

Can't happen soon enough, kroenke borrowed to purchase his shares and agreed not to sell for a set time. Usmanov could buy kroenke many times over and actually wants to bring investment in. All this talk off him being shady is spin from kroenke and the arsenal board to try and discredit usmanov.

Agree2 Disagree2

They're also Chelsea fans...

Pakistan AFC

Agree1 Disagree2

You don't become a billionaire without a few suspicious dealings.

I'd be happy with him in power, can't be worse than kroenke...

D

Agree3 Disagree1

So because Chelski fans do something, we should do the same?

Anyways, I don't know what to make of Usmanov. As far as him being shady like the other poster stated, it's true. He's been convicted of racketeering in the past, had ties to a heroin drug lord, has been involved in bribing high ranking individuals, was involved in the mysterious death of a Russian journo, and apparently raped someone in Uzbekistan (hardly surprising considering how easily women get raped over there and nothing is done). Apparently Putin has used him to shut down media opposition also.

I don't know what kind of character Abramovich is, and I don't care to know. I personally wouldn't want individuals like that running any club. It's a double-edged sword sometimes for the fans, but this is the world we live and indulge in.

Agree3 Disagree1

Would love this to happen, be nice to obtain some funds form a actual football fan. Not just a sport fan

Agree0 Disagree1

How the hell is this spin by Kroenke? This has been on the Internet for 7-8 years. Some of you will do anything to get rid of Kroenke. There are things out there bigger than Arsenal FC, and sports in general.

Agree0 Disagree1

So what are these suspicious dealings Kroenke has taken part in?

He should be tried for investing in Wal-Mart, that's about it.

Kroenke nor Usmanov are anything Arsenal fans should want a part of. One takes profits out of the club, the other is a severely diseased individual.

Agree2 Disagree2

You've clearly not read the statement released by Red and White Holdings then have you? Stated he wasn't happy with running of club, not happy with star players leaving season after season and wants to give WENGER a war chest to compete with likes of Chelski and Citeh

Agree1 Disagree0

All billionaires have shady pasts, personally if Usmanov can do more for Arsenal than Kroenke then I'd prefer him. First port of call would be to sign Yaya Toure and Aguero and see how City like it.

Bergkamp's apprentice

Agree2 Disagree2

Usmanov?

As an Arsenal fanatic - FANATIC - of 46 years, I'd rather go another 46 years without a trophy than see this man in charge. It galls that he is even connected.

Search yer interweb for Craig Murry's assessment of this man (former ambassador to Uzbekistan).

Agree1 Disagree1

Google the guardian article of 2007 reporting his alleged shady dealings, and other allegations. No doubt kroenke supporters will accuse a proper newspaper who actually investigated these things liars too for not agreeing with them

Agree0 Disagree0

Russians and co put the downers on a good thing because they are all jealous, how many times do we hear these kind of story's made up via the net to put people down. Where is the proof innocent b4 guilty, the Western way. Live for hope.

Agree1 Disagree0

Usmanov has a history of putting lots of money into sports teams, and then leaving the club. this then puts the team in major debt. he isnt trustoworthy

Agree0 Disagree0

Usmanov is a big admirer of wenger!

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah baby !

Agree0 Disagree0

He is kept off the board for good reason and would ruin the club in the long term, just watch what will happen to chelsea and city it will be even wrose than what happened to rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi

Sorry to doubt your numbers but the value of the club was recently put £750m and as Sam owns 70%, he would be looking at a minimum of £500m to sell his shares.

Stuart the Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting how the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan ruled that the original conviction was unjust, no crime was ever committed, and that the evidence was "fabricated".

anyway doesnt matter how corrupt he was (even if unproven he probably was dodgy), he's an incredible investor tho, including his share purchase. I think he'll invest well in Arsenal. I dont see anything on the net about what that poster said about investing in other sports teams then leaving them high and dry. I cant see anything where he invested in any other sporting team. maybe you can point me in the right direction so i can have a read of that, unless ur are full of bs??

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

On 5th July 2012, Alisher Usmanov criticized Arsenal's lack of ambition and financial model in an open letter sent to the board. "You can try and put a good face on a bad game for as long as you want, pontificating about the merits of this model, but it will not hide the obvious fact that it just does not allow our great manager to fully realise his managerial talent and deliver success for the fans who are paying the highest prices in the land." This criticism came as consequence of football player Robin Van Persie decision not to extend his contract. Usmanov wrote "Yet again we are faced with losing our true marquee player at the club because we cannot assure him of the future direction and give confidence that we can win trophies." Usmanov, who remains a majority shareholder, states that he has no intention of selling his shares

Agree0 Disagree0

This so called statement released when RVP flipped and spoke out came from the company Usmanov operating as Red & White Holdings. I wouldnt go to far to say it was heart writing plea from the man himself but an R & W spin doctor probably wrote the statement with input from David Deins team of advisors. Truth be known if David Dein came out on SKY Sports News tomorrow with 100% full support of Usmanovs intentions and said there is nothing to hide or shady to worry about it would get my support. With AFC having David Dein back on the board he knows Arsenal & Arsene inside out. Arsene is a man of class and dignity to the current AFC regime and doing the best with the limited resources from the board. Arsene is not daft.... hes on a massive contract from the current board and who knows maybe if and when Usmanov gains control Arsene will be onto a win win situation....better contract for him & top £££ to get the player deals and contracts to match the slime of city & chelski. Looking forward to this season and just hope the squad are all up for it and get out of the blocks to make there intenions clear. Hold your heads high Gooners, we will always be The Arsenal. What are (half of you) lot on about?

Who CARES what kind of past he has? As a fan I want TROPHYS! This takes MONEY!

We need serious investment to keep our best players and buy new ones. We can't buy the players Man U, City and Chelsea can and thats why we'll win nothing once again!

Aren't you the bloke who keeps saying M'vila will join in the next 2 weeks for about a month and a half now?

Agree1 Disagree1

No. That was me reporting on rumours of when it was to be announced. This is me saying it will happen next two weeks now

NW

Agree1 Disagree0

Change the record, M'Vila has been going to sign in the next 2 weeks for the past 2 months. Not going to happen, discipline problems. Carzola will sign however (15m euros). Also Walcott will sign a new 4 year deal after Wenger promised he will play up front more next season

Carzola looks set to join arsenal
for a club record of 16.3 million
pounds after being seen in north
London agreeing contract terms.

Believable39 Unbelievable28

Really, how come no other media are aware?

Agree9 Disagree3

Would be awsome.. Cazorla, Podolski & Giroud...

Agree8 Disagree4

If he was seen in north London where is the photo......i think we are in for him but dont make stories up please

Agree4 Disagree3

Who has seen Cazorla in London agreeing terms? any proof on this . I fr sure feel we will be a much better team this season.

Agree1 Disagree3

The telegraph...mail.... and guardian are running the story.....but graham hunter talksports spanish reporter broke this last week......LONDON EVENING STANDARD ASWELL......Left sided midfielder/winger.....great touch ans vision

Agree4 Disagree0

Carzola is in London and has agreed personal terms but Malaga want bentner as part of the deal and he is having none of it as usual.inside info.

Agree0 Disagree3

Guardian led on Carzola agreeing terms, this appears the easy part, now Malaga have to agree to sell him

Agree1 Disagree2

Really hope Carz doesn't join. I'd rather see Wenger throwing the 20 mil on an extreme young talent like M'Vila or Gotze etc. Not some 27 yr old who will be gone in 2 years like Arshavin.

Agree3 Disagree10

GOTZE....has extended his contract....please please stop saying we are gonna buy him or should buy him.....we have some good young players in the squad but most of them lack the real world class pass in the final third....this guy has the ability to receive the ball in tight areas of the pitch, lay off and look to receive it back.....a real intelligence about him.....Ifeel the wide players Walcott(over rated)Arsarvin(out of position)Gilvinho(cant right him off after one season) have underperformed. The last player to play well in a wide position was Robert Pires........class and plenty of goals....km.

Agree5 Disagree0

It makes sense to sign a 27 year old
by the time he has past his prime in the red and white, the ox will have suffiecient experiance and by the JW and maybe (not expecting much ) even ramsey and eisfield who looks a real prospect, will all be mature ENOUGH and do us proud, thus we our kids will be ready and they wont be thrown in the deep end which can end careers. so it is a move which is perfect to bring in the youngsters.

Hey guys ,
I think we can look forward to next season.
.....................szczesny
well he will only get better that's for sure we might need a back up goalkeeper but other than that it should be okay.Martinez is much better than shea guys, just letting you know.
.....sagna........KoS....Tv5........gibbs
That defence is fantastic bearing in mind that a german captain with over 75 apps does not get into our first team despite being at the age that is arguably when defenders are at their peak.
To be honest djourou is good enough to be a fourth cb so it is not our priority but its likely that the squid will leave and miquel will go on loan so we should look to get one like yanga mbiwa or sakho or abdenour . However it's not priority.
So In terms of defence were okay it's solid and we have a lot of muscle gibbs will improve. I'm not sure whether bartley will stay or go on loan it depends on pre season.

Sorry I'm using my phone.so there maybe.random full stops because of swype.
Thanks

Believable20 Unbelievable9

If Carzola and M'villa (or another DM) joins I believe this may be one of our strongest squads in a while even if RVP goes

But IMO Gibbs is the bottleneck not to say he won't come good but or if podolski is playing Infront of him might improve his game but LB for me would be an issue
Dan

Agree9 Disagree5

Fantastic defence? Are u drunk? We conceded 49 goals last season!!

Agree9 Disagree5

Our Defense will be a lot tighter this season and will leak less goals with Bould coaching the back four hat is for sure as he groomed Tony Adams.
It looks like Cazorla is on his way and if we get M'Vila joins well with JW returning WOW! What a squad we will have.

Deano

Agree8 Disagree1

Only reason we conceded 49 goals was due to a severe defensive injury crisis, I recall a time when Ignasi Miquel and Djourou were our full backs against Man City.

Agree4 Disagree2

Stevey Bould will sort them out that's for sure... I don't think we will concede as many this season if they all stay fit!!

Agree7 Disagree0

Yeah we could see that in todays game. Defence is the worst Ive ever seen from an Arsenal team!!

Agree2 Disagree2

A bit silly to judge on today's game such a weird mix of defenders and we still only conceded a long range strike.... keepers not good enough though

Agree2 Disagree2

Ha ha, szczesny will only get better! After the euros, I suppose he must be at rock bottom so the only way is up right?.. Think a new keeper should be first priority

Agree0 Disagree0

Szczesny is a bit immature, but I think what happened to him at the euros could actually benefit the kid. He has everything it takes to be a world class keeper. I don't think abandoning him for someone older is what the club needs right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have any of you watched arsenal before, szczensy is brilliant stopper for his age, look at the dirk kuyt penalty save last year, he is agile and strong!

If they can pay 20mln, I am happy for this to happen.

Never want players that don't want to be there.

Disgruntled employees affect everyone!

Billybob

Agree9 Disagree1

Arsenal to Milan would be a step down. They are offloading top players to reduce the wagebill, the greedy dutchman would only add to the wagebill.

Agree2 Disagree2

But they just wiped about EURO270k a week off the wage bill with Ibra alone, let alone Thiago Silva - if they got RvP and a replacement centre back then I am sure their total wages would be nowhere near that of Ibra and Silva combined

Agree2 Disagree0

Right because a club trying to reduce its wagebill would want a player taking £195000 a week. They are after players like Bendtner whose wage demands are alot less. I dont know if you know but AC Milan withstanding debts are over £250 million!

Growing speculation that the Gunners have made a move for Cazorla™s services have forced Malaga to come out and maintain that they do not wish to sell their star player.

"Cazorla is not for sale, we do not talk about rumours in the press and our plans are not to even negotiate his exit," a club source told Sky Sports.

Agree4 Disagree5

They have to otherwise they face losing there UEFA license and forced out of the Champions League because a few players went a whole season without being paid wages and Santi Cazorla was one of those players because there in a huge amount of debt. They have to sell players in order to keep the license and a champions league spot. And apparently there was a lot of broken promises which has forced Santi Cazorla to act and try and force a transfer

The Guardian announced, that Arsenal has agreed terms with Cazorla!:)

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Hope its true, have to wait untill its comfirmed on arsenal.com or sky sports news

Agree6 Disagree2

Sounds great, but the hardest part is still to come, getting Malaga to agree to sell him and accept less then £20 million.

Agree6 Disagree1

Surely everyone knows that if terms are agreed then a deal with club is done?

arsenal dont do dodgy hotel deals - this is either complete rubbish or done deal

Agree4 Disagree2

It might not be a 'dodgy deal' the club may give permission to discuss personal terms before a fee has been finallised.

Agree3 Disagree1

It doesn't matter what terms are agreed between Arsenal and Santi Cazorla if Malaga don't agree the price the deal isn't happening. AW is trying to knick a crafty bargain because of the tricky situation that Malaga are in. This is not a done deal.

Chamahk has come out and said:

"I hope this season I will play more than last. I have not spoken with the manager but I will soon."

"Now I hope this season will be good for me and the club. Yes, I need more confidence. But to be confident I need to play more. I am determined to stay."

Guys like this is the reason we wont sign another striker when rvp leaves...wenger will want to prove his purchase was right and give him another shot. Cham will b happy benching it making 50k a week.

Believable20 Unbelievable4

He wasnt a purchase, he was free

Agree5 Disagree2

Argh comeon. Finally a guy who's fighting for a spot on the team, is willing to stay and playing with his heart. Give him a last chance.

Agree10 Disagree3

As someone rightfully says above, Chamahk came to Arsenal on a free. Secondly, totally agree with the poster suggesting it proper to back a player that is willing to stay and fight for his place. He joined Arsenal to play football, he didn't ask AW to stop playing him and then when he does play him it's with 10-15 minutes to go in a game that we are chasing. If he is given the opportunity he will show that he is class, he was when he arrived, that's why we took him, class doesn't just vanish. Go and have a look at his stats, have a look at what his CL goals did for his previous clubs bank balance.

Agree5 Disagree3

If I could agree with the give him a chance comments more than once I would.

Agree3 Disagree1

How many more strikers do you think we need?

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite plainly Chamakh has been distracted from his game last season for whatever reasons. If he wants to battle his way into our team this season he deserves 2nd chance. We have seen what he can do. But if/ when Van Persie leaves this season we must buy one more proven forward.

I often see comments having a go at a poster, for putting a rumour up on here, i cant be bothered to read 7 papers, id much rather have a digest of genuine paper talk than someone saying his mum used to clean for ivan gazidis and last week he said the house was messy, so that was proof we were buying a certain argentinian from barcelona. it is a rumours site, it doesnt matter that the source may not be obscure. i think people should be a little nicer to those who bother to post stuff theyve heard. and just take everything with a pinch of salt til its confirmed on arsenal.com

This news triggers a need for me to say something.

All those Arsenal fans who find fault with the club, our manager, how the club is run etc, should just look at this news and see that players who are true Gunners, are honoured to play for us, feel the same connection as we do with the club, believe in it as an entity and understand what they are lucky enough to be involved in.

Our club is a great club, we have a fundamentally sound approach to finance, we have morales, we have history, we have passion and we play the game the way it is supposed to be played.

Everyone complaining about us not paying 10s of millions of pounds for this star and that star should take a look at our history.

We have bought two very good players (Giroud and Podolski), we have Wilshere to come back, we some unbelievable talent (Ryo, Benik Afobe, Chucks Aneke, Joel Campbell, Toral, The Ox and the list goes on).

We should not become fickle as other teams supporters are (Anyone say Spuds?) but be proud of, and revere our club the way the "right type of players" do (Verm, Kos, Bacary, Wilshire) and did (Bergkamp, Henry, Pires).

And those that find fault with our Manager, Arsene Wenger, ewhom transfromed both our club, and the league, should be ashamed.

I believe there are additional changes to come, let us unite, support, and deliver the passion to our team, that we expect from our players, and are being shown by those who are committing and those who have committed.

Agree10 Disagree0

As a Cardiff City fan, I am pleased to confirm that Arsenal are a truly great club. Typified by their thoughtful gift every Christmas to Derek Tapscott who played for them and us in the 50s/60s and the huge wreath they sent here for Derek's funeral. You should all be proud to support such a club.

Agree5 Disagree0

To the above comments about 'arsenal fans who find fault with the club' - just one side comment the club are great with structure in which it is run, but we still pay the most for our season ticket and merchandise and yet still lose our best players year in and year out - the sums dont add up, we should either get cheaper season tickets or pay more money to the star player..................

Agree5 Disagree1

Good im glad, im cardiff based gooner and like both teams, tapscott is a legend, we have always had a lot of crossover players, mcdermott, wood, ramsey, Jet, rhys weston. Finally i am pleased to see you have finally seen sense and adopted our colours too! .....(sorry for the cheap joke, couldnt resist, meant the rest of that stuff though)

Agree3 Disagree0

You forgot Brian Walsh., Mike Tiddy and George Johnston

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree that we are a great club being run professionally. but its not good business to let your top players contracts run out. you cant sell your best players every year and still hope to maintain champions league football each season. last year was fab and nasri. this year RVP who will it be next year Wilshire ? scezney?. ivan the terrible, hillwood and the american are going to milk the cow until there is nothing left to sell apart from the stadium. and who knows what they'll do then.

Santi Cazorla has informed Arsenal he is willing to join the club and wenger hopes a fee of around 16million will seal the move.

Source: Guardian Online {Ed027's Note - any of you gusy willing to do a bit of dirty work, find out if Graham Hunter is realiable or not, becasue he says he'll put his money on Arsenal signing him

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Rule #1. Never punt any amount of money on one signing while wenger is in charge

Agree3 Disagree4

Ed027 Graham hunter is very reliable! he is a regular on revista de la liga, the sky show which shows the highlights of la liga games, doesnt talk rumours just for the sake of it!

Agree5 Disagree3

ED027..... Love the enthusiasm! Actually think that this season will see a definitive improvement on last. The season before last Carzola was involved in 22 goals. He is 2 footed and actually think that he would be our ACM. With Walcott making noises that hint at a stay this would mean we will have lost 1 World Class players and gained 2 World Class and 1 good player. With the players coming back and the potential for more signings how could we not be excited.

Hackney Gooner

Agree9 Disagree0

The post in the gaurdian does seem reliable when you read it and given Malaga's financial issues a deal would seem very possible. Lets just hope nobody else coems in for him and we can get him for the 15-10M quoted.

Agree4 Disagree0

Ed i asked Ed022 how reliable Graham Hunter is the other day and he described him as "useless."

Invincible49

Agree3 Disagree1

The guardian itself is statistically the most reliable sports paper on the market, simply doesn't post rumors but states facts,if a deal is going forward or looking likely they will report it,just sometimes deals collapse or something changes in a long chain of actions forcing the club to pull out, not the guardians fault, so I believe it's very possible, but not certain... Nothing is certain infootball

Agree2 Disagree1

Hunter reliable. Never deals in definites and rumours but believes Cazorla is likely to move to the EPL and Wenger has been very interested in the past. AW will need to get it done though and not dilly dally or someone else will grab him.

PS- RVP to Juventus as soon as they get close to £20m. Interest in Dempsey still there.....

ADL.

Agree0 Disagree1

Hackney Gooner we didnt sign 2 world class players and 1 good player we signed three good players

JW.19

Agree1 Disagree3

Isnt Graham Hunter the journalist who wrote that book about barca " the making of the worlds greatest team".
He seems to use pure facts for his writing and i would not doubt his contacts in a league where he is very well known.

He's not saying something out of the ordinary...the interest has been shown in Cazorla and vice versa.

Im not sure how he will fit in...we have sufficient wingers.

lets see what wenger calls.

Agree1 Disagree1

There are conflicting reports emanating from Spain on this th Qatari owner, Ghubn, recently said Malaga are not a selling club and they will not be parting ways with the midfielder. However, the player has not been paid fully and Villareal who he joined from have not been paid so fingers crossed this looks likely.

Agree2 Disagree1

Please excuse my enthusiasm. Podolski is in my mind and Giroud is very good. IF we sign Cazorla then this would be the second.

Of course you may claim Podolski isn't but in my mind he is better than most in his position (Ashley Young for example).

My belief in Cazorla signing is maybe naive but bugger it. If I wasn't positive then most of last season would have seen me confined to a padded room ;p.

Hackney Gooner

Agree2 Disagree1

"three good players"

I will have to use a FM reference here and call them 'continental' class.

These 3 players are of champions league calibre. They would significantly benefit our side vs 1 world class player.

Because RVP can't be expected to score another 25-30 goals without support.

Giroud/Podolski = 15/20 goals each

Theo/Gervinho/Carzola = 5/10 assists each (plus some goals)

I am excited!

Sid Lowe is joining in on the act saying Cazorla to Arsenal. And he can play a central attacking role aswell. It is clear we need a creative spark
