Hello ed, just wanted to ask about Kolasinac. In my personal opinion he's unfit, poor defensively and has been a bit injury prone. Do u expect him to leave or do u know if we are looking to sign a new 1st team left back?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Right now I don't think Arsenal see a new LB as a priority and their focus is elsewhere. I am not aware of any plans to sell SK and it is Monreal who may see a youngster replace him from within the club.}

Thanks Ed, I know it’s long away but do u see us strengthening in January?

{Ed002's Note - I can tell you where I know of interest but it is not normally possible to answer questions about the timing of transfers. There are certainly a couple of positions the club need top look at addressing but right now we don't know if they will look to do something in January or not. Clubs are not keen to sell then because it is harder to find replacements; will Ramsey leave in January and can he be replaced; players may still be involved in Champions League competition; etc..}

We don't seem to have any young lbs at the club ed unless they plan to us maitland niles there.

If reports are to be believed Emery isn't impressed by the options at LB and apparently looked into signing a LB during last summer's window.
Monreal is out of contract in June and turns 33 in February. Whilst Kolasinac started well at the club, then was mysteriously dropped by Wenger, has suffered injuries, looks way too bulky and doesn't convince defensively.
I have a feeling that unless a good opportunity arises we won't sign a LB until the summer. With £70m spent during the last window and reports that £40m is the budget for the next window, we will again look to make clever cheap signings. Hence, the reports that we may try to sign Moreno on a free from Liverpool in the summer window. I am aware that Arsenal fans seem to be unimpressed by Moreno, but perhaps he is the best we can expect, with a restricted budget and other positions also needing filling. I don't believe that right footed fill in options are Emery's choice. The likes of Maitland-Niles, Lichtsteiner and Xhaka playing at LB, are an emergency measure, not a solution. I wonder tonight if Lichtsteiner will replace Bellerin at LB and Jenkinson switch to LB, despite being a right footed RB.

What about that young lb we signed last year who is on loan.

Hey ed001 what's your opinion of moreno, is he better than what we have? and God forbid do we have serious interest in him and is he the best we can hope for? We are weak in the full back areas, there's no point scrimping and getting someone on a free who doesn't improve us at all we need to pay the money and get someone who will hold down the position long term. Not another free who will be a liability and need replacing again.

{Ed001's Note - he has plenty of ability but he lacks any intelligence. However Emery will not leave him to use his brain, he will give him instructions to follow so he should be ok for you.}

That's slightly reassuring, we are interested in him then? Does klopp not already do that? And he hasn't looked that great for you?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest in him from Arsenal and he would prefer to return to Spain. Klopp likes players to use their own brain and think for themselves, he gives them room to make choices for themselves.}

Well Yeh there's only so much instruction you can give someone, they have to be able to think for themselves if something unforseen happens on the pitch.

I would be surprised if it were not a priority. We have Xhaka, not the most skilful defensive player at left back. Along with a quality centre half, I can't see any greater requirement than at left back. Numerous sources suggest that Emery is less than well disposed to what we currently have available in that position.
